Robert Pattinson has moved out of the home he shared with Kristen Stewart, that much we already knew. But a fresh report suggests these stars are not utilizing Skype or sending texts or even dropping any direct Facebook messages: Stewart and Pattinson are not speaking at the moment, People sources say. The impasse, of course, is a result of Stewart’s admitted affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders . Pattinson has not issued any statements on the embarrassing, hurtful matter, but insiders claim he’s appalled that Kristen took the scandal public and is in hiding, trying to figure out his next step. But the star will need to come out relatively soon, and he’ll need to appear alongside Stewart when he does so: Pattinson and his Twilight costar are scheduled to present together September 6 at the MTV Video Music Awards. It’s safe to assume a few people might be tuning in for that now.

Efron tells ‘Today’ show that he now has a ‘pocket-checking policy.’ By John Mitchell Zac Efron on the “Today” show Photo: NBC/ Getty At last week’s “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” premiere, the movie’s star Zac Efron caused quite a stir when he pulled his hands out of his pants pockets and accidentally dropped a condom on the red carpet. Unfortunately for the handsome star, just a few days later, he was scheduled to hit the talk-show circuit to promote the animated flick, which in these gossipy times meant fielding questions about the embarrassing snafu. His first stop was “Today,” where a blushing Matt Lauer asked Efron about the condom drop and, well, the journalist seemed to be having a harder time talking about the incident than the movie star. “Your name brings a lot of attention to this role and this movie, and there’s something else that brought a lot of attention to this movie recently, Zac, at the premiere,” Lauer said with a smile. “Yeah,” Efron answered reluctantly, knowing where the conversation was headed. Lauer then asked the “High School Musical” breakout to “take me through it.” Efron didn’t exactly want to do that, but he did assure the anchor that he “never really had a pocket-checking policy when I was going on the red carpet before, but now we’ve fully instated one.” “You dropped a … a condom on the red carpet,” Lauer elaborated, just to make sure everyone was on the same page, though he was clearly uncomfortable. “That was really hard for you to say,” the 24-year-old star observed. Clearly embarrassed by the conversation but maintaining his cool, Efron agreed with Lauer that the “better to be safe than sorry” message he was sending was “a great message to add to the many messages of the film.” That’s when things took a turn for the super -awkward. Lauer tried to move straight into a conversation about Efron’s production company. “You’ve got your own production company,” Lauer started before laughing. “And that’s a bad pun, by the way: your own production company.” Get it? Sad, sad, news out of New Orleans. Remember the viral video of a teenager getting spanked on Youtube for his gang affiliations? Well, the once-comical story took a horrible turn. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said Michael Taylor, 16, was found shot to death shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7 when deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area. Taylor had been shot multiple times. Sgt. Larry Dyess, JPSO spokesman, told the Times-Picayune that authorities had no suspect or motive in the incident. Taylor’s mother, Kimberly Ward, told the newspaper that she kept strict tabs on her son, even making him stay on the sidewalk in eyesight of their home when he went outside. The night of the shooting, she said, Taylor received a text message from a friend at about 8 p.m. and went outside to chat. “She said she called him back inside a few minutes later to find out what was going on, and he told her he was just talking and went back outside. A few minutes later, her daughter received a text message saying that Taylor had been shot, and then another saying he was dead,” the newspaper reported. “Ward said she rushed from the house, driving around the neighborhood looking for her son, but didn’t find him until she was coming back to her apartment complex. That’s when she saw his body on the cold sidewalk, clad in the red sweatshirt she’d noticed when he left the house. “I came home and saw my son on the ground,” Ward said. There aren’t any suspects in the case. It’s just so sad. We thought that maybe the embarrassing video would help him get on the right path. This just brings tears to our eyes.
