Megyn Kelly on Matt Lauer: I Know ALL His Skeletons!

Megyn Kelly has made it very clear that she thinks Brett Kavanaugh is innocent. The embattled Supreme Court nominee has said so himself, after all . But Matt Lauer, however? Kelly isn’t about to let her fellow journalist off the hook that easily. Lauer, of course, was dismissed by NBC close to a year ago after multiple accusations of sexual misconduct were made about him. The firing was swift and shocking, with executives arriving at their decision not long ater learing of one complaint; telling the public they presumed many more were out there; and letting Lauer go from his post as main Today Show anchor after many years on the job as a result. Just a few months later, Kelly came on board NBC. She made the move after a polarizing and popular stint at Fox News and now hosts her very own (low-rated) hour of Today. So these reporters, both controversial for very different reasons, have been like two ships crossing in the daytime television night. Or something to that effect. Over the past several weeks, there have been a few frightening rumors about Lauer making a return to TV in some fashion. According to a previous Page Six reports, Lauer told a few women who recently approached him that he has been busy fathering, but told these fans not to “worry” because he’ll “be back” on the small screen soon. Does this mean he’s had active discussions with networks? Does it mean he has a story to tell that will exonerate him from all allegations? Does it mean that Lauer thinks people simply don’t believe he supposed raped someone ? It’s unclear. When asked during an interview with Us Weekly if she thought Lauer should come back to the public eye after his fall from grace Kelly said she would not really comment. But she did add the following: “I know too much that others don’t know.” Whoa there. Interesting, right? There’s already A LOT that the public either knows or assumes, based on various rumors and articles. For example: Lauer supposedly made employees feel very uncomfortable by pulling out sex toys in front of them. He also made unwanted advances toward them. And he also had an affair with an underling named Addie Zinone, who actually sat down awhile back with Kelly. When asked if she garnered any backlash for having a woman on her show who had slept with the recently-fired face of NBC daytime, Kelly replied: “All I’m going to say is that I feel very strongly about the #MeToo coverage, the importance of doing it without fear or favor. I didn’t let anyone stop me at Fox, and I’m not going to let anyone stop me at NBC.” Kelly, who previously had spoken out about harassment she endured while employed by former Fox boss Roger Ailes, went on to explain that she believes some men who commit sexual misconduct could “potentially” have second chances in the public eye. She explained her side as follows: “I feel it’s a case-by-case basis. I don’t think we need to see Harvey Weinstein in polite society ever again, but I don’t think that’s true of everyone. I think, for some of these guys, there’s a way forward. “I happen to believe it starts with a full-throated apology, and not just this paper statement of, ‘I did some things wrong and I’m sorry.’” Seems like another shot fired at Lauer, right? This is what he wrote back in late November: There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly. Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It’s been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace.

Matt Lauer: Kicked Out by His Wife! Finally!

Matt Lauer lost his job a couple months ago. Along with it, he lost his dignity. And now, according to a new report in The New York Post, he has lost his soulmate. The aforementioned newspaper quotes an anonymous source who says  Annette Roque has finally come to her senses and kicked Lauer out of the family home in The Hamptons. The disgraced Today Show anchor has reportedly moved out of this estate and is now crashing someplace nearby. (For the expensive record: He owns a $36 million compound in North Haven, a house in Sag Harbor and a 40-acre horse farm in Water Mill.) Lauer, of course, was fired by NBC in late November after a woman accused him of sexual harassment. Not long after this development, numerous other reports indicated that Lauer was basically a gross sexual predator at work. There have been allegations against him of dropping his pants in front of employees; of gifting them with sex toys; and even of raping one of them in his office . It’s horrible stuff all around. The public has been wondering for several weeks now just why Roque is sticking around. The only plausible explanation, which has been cited by many websites around the Internet, is that she and Lauer have been living separate lives for many years now anyway. Lauer spends nearly every week night in New York City and only would make it out to The Hamptons on weekends. Nevertheless, the more Roque has realized how much Lauer sucks, and the more chatter about previous affairs has emerged… the louder the divorce rumors have grown . The Post claims Roque will soon file the necessary papers to rid herself of Lauer once and for all. Sources have been saying of late that Lauer wants to save the marriage, but that Roque has been “very cold” to him. Hmmm… we wonder why that would be. Actually, no, sorry: we don’t wonder why that would be at all . Shortly after Lauer was fired, he issued a lengthy mea culpa that didn’t deny he had acted like a disgusting pervert for decades. Scroll down to read the statement in its entirety… There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. Kim Kardashian & Kylie Jenner: Fighting Over a Baby Name?!

Yesterday, the world learned that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their third child ! The baby girl was born via surrogate, and while we’re sure that the family is overjoyed, we don’t yet know the name.  Reportedly, not even Kimye know the name. And rumor has it that Kim and her sister Kylie are having a tug-of-war over a name that they both want for their child. Kim Kardashian decided to have her third child via surrogate. She did this, not only because pregnancy absolutely sucks, but because Kim has a potentially life-threatening condition known as placenta accreta, in which the placenta becomes too firmly attached to the uterine wall. This makes for difficult pregnancies that put Kim’s life at risk. A surrogate was definitely the right call. Kim was present for the childbirth, and was the first person to have skin-to-skin contact with her newborn daughter. Oh, and their third child was born at Cedars-Sinai in L.A. which is the same place where both North and Saint were born. Kim and Kanye have set the bar pretty high when it comes to epic names. Though Kim and Kanye both have K-names, they’re eschewing Kris Jenner’s K-naming convention, opting instead for distinctive names that really make an impact. North West is … truly an incredible name. And Saint West … well, we’d say that no one saw that one coming, but six months before Saint was born, someone tweeted: “Watch kanye name his kid ‘saint’ or some stupid s–t.” We did all watch. North and Saint will be tough acts to follow. This Kimye newborn is only the first of the 2018 Kardashian Baby Boom, however. Kylie Jenner is pregnant , and though her sister Khloe is also pregnant after many years of talking about it and (seemingly) worrying about her fertility, Kylie’s baby is arguably the most anticipated childbirth of this coming year. Reportedly, Kylie Jenner’s due date is February 4th. She’s had a long, long time to consider what to name her baby. She is expecting a baby girl, and according to a report, there’s a name that she really likes. You might even say that she loves it. There’s just one problem: Kim also likes the name. According to RadarOnline , Kim and Kylie are fighting over baby names . 2018 is only a couple of weeks out of the gate, and it’s already wild. The name in question? Love . “Kim and Kylie were fighting over the name,” their source claims. It’s not the first time that Kylie and Kim have competed against each other. They’re the two richest Kardashians, with their various ventures (and both are in the makeup business). Apparently, Kylie “also likes the name Princess.” Kim, as the big sister, was apparently “learning toward Star, and will likely let Kylie have Love.” This same report claims that Kanye wants to name their daughter “South,” but that Kim thinks that it would be too cheesy … and that it would be bad for their brand. We’ll take that report with a grain of salt, but it’s worth considering those names. Is Kylie planning on giving her baby Travis Scott’s last name? I’ve always thought that patrilineal names don’t make much sense, especially since Kylie’s the one who was pregnant. Travis Scott’s part of the equation was brief and, presumably, accidental. What’s more, while Love West would be one hell of a baby name, Love Scott would be … awkward. Imagine Kourtney Kardashian, whose ex is Scott Disick, saying the name of her newborn niece. Yikes. If Kim names her daughter Star West, then their daughters’ names would be North and Star . Cute. But don’t fixate on any names just yet. You never know what Kimye might come up with. Ann Curry Breaks Silence on Matt Lauer Misconduct, Firing

Ann Curry did her best to take the high road on Wednesday. Sitting down with CBS This Morning to address a number of topics, Curry was asked early on about her former colleague, Matt Lauer. Despite sharing a desk for many years, it was an open secret that Curry and Lauer never exactly got along well. When Curry was fired five-plus years ago by NBC, most insiders believed it was Lauer who forced her out – and most viewers noted that she didn’t really acknowledge her co-anchor during her farewell address on air. Fast forward to November of 2017… and Lauer getting fired under even more scandalous circumstances. He’s been accused of sexual harassment and misconduct and even rape. Some people remain shocked by these charges, truly taken aback that Lauer could even do such things. But Curry is not one of these people. “I can tell you that I am not surprised by the allegations,” the veteran journalist said flat-out this morning. “Do you believe that Matt Lauer abused his power?” Norah O’Donnell asked. Replied Curry, afraid of saying too much: “Now I’m walking down that road and I’m trying not to hurt people. And I know what it’s like to be publicly humiliated. “I never did anything wrong to be publicly humiliated and I don’t want to cause that kind of pain to somebody else.” Fair enough, of course. Like we said above, she really did try to take the high road. But…  “I can say that – because you are asking me a very direct question – I can say that I would be surprised if many women did not understand that there was a climate of verbal harassment that existed,” Curry continued. “I would be surprised if someone said that they didn’t see that. So, it was verbal sexual harassment.” Matt Lauer and Ann Curry dressed as Prince William and Kate Middleton for Halloween in 2011. Lauer was let go bt NBC in late November after a colleague accused him of sexual misconduct in the workplace. At the time, NBC News Chairman Andy Lack sent an email to employees just moments before Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb broke the news on the air. (Kotb has since replaced Lauer as Guthrie’s permanent co-host.) Since the initial accusation, multiple reports have been published that alleged Lauer sent underlings sex toys, asked them to perform sex acts and even forced himself on a woman in his office on at least one occasion. A day after his ousting, Lauer issued the following apology : There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly. Lauer has said very little since then. Sources say he’s just hanging out around his home in the Hamptons and spending time with his kids. We can’t imagine he’s ever hired in the television industry again. And if this is the case, we’d just like to say one thing: GOOD RIDDANCE! View Slideshow: Matt Lauer: A Timeline of Terrible Behavior

Matt Lauer Replacement: Sabotaged by… You-Know-Who!

Matt Lauer is out. But who is in?!? On the heels of NBC axing Lauer from his co-hosting gig on The Today Show, in the wake of VERY disturbing sexual misconduct allegations , questions are starting to go from this: What the Hell is wrong with Matt Lauer?!? To this: Who will replace Matt Lauer? Some have naturally speculated that Megyn Kelly will swoop in and take Lauer’s seat alongside Savannah Gurthrie, considering how much NBC is paying her each year. But she only just started her own hour on Today. Would the network really move her so quickly? If not Kelly, however, it really is unclear just who will take over for Lauer, which is largely because Lauer himself has served as a deterrent to potential future anchors. Remember: these sexual assault charges are shocking. But there’s been talk of Lauer getting fired for years now, due to his huge contract, the show’s faltering ratings and his perceived bad attitude. Lauer was aware of these rumors. In response, he went out of his way to ensure such reporters as David Gregory, Josh Elliott and Billy Bush were unprepared to sit in his chair. “Matt killed off, in their infancy, every man who could succeed him at the time that he was ready to hang it up,” an insider tells Page Six. “So there’s nobody to take his place. And now NBC is paying the price.” Hoda Kotb announced that Lauer was fired early last week, but she’s entrenched with Kathie Lee Giffored on their own hour of Today. No one takes her seriously as a candidate. Reportedly, Craig Melvin, who serves as a host on Weekend Today, is being strongly considered for the job of Lauer’s replacement. However, one network executive doesn’t think he’s suitable. “I couldn’t pick him out of a lineup,” this executive tells The New York Post. At the moment, Willie Geist probably leads the pack. He’ll get the job, if we had to guess right now. Ironically, meanwhile, ratings for Today have shot up in the wake of Lauer’s firing. We guess this isn’t all that stunning, with folks wanting to tune in and see how the series is handling his dismissal. To the network’s credit, Today has been covering the Lauer debacle just like any news story. It’s not holding anything back just because it is involved in the case. And to whomever does replace Lauer, there’s no reason to be nervous: Lauer may have raped someone . In other words: he’s set the bar VERY low. You’ll do fine. Matt Lauer Has Now Been Accused of Rape

The New York Times has published a new and explosive allegation against Matt Lauer. According to this newspaper, the former Today Show anchor once sexually assaulted an NBC staffer in his office. The report quotes two anonymous women who have come forward with accusations, just days after another woman and her lawyer approached NBC executives with details on how Lauer acted in an offensive manner toward her. In response, NBC fired Lauer for what it referred to as “inappropriate sexual behavior.” Via a statement from News Chairman Andrew Lack at the time, the network said it had reasons to believe what transpired between Lauer and this latter individual was NOT an “isolated incident.” And the aforementioned New York Times report backs up this belief. The most shocking, disturbing and damaging aspect of this report cites and alleged incident that took place in 2001. The publication writes that it talked to an ex-NBC staffer – speaking on the condition of anonymity – who described the ways in which Lauer made “inappropriate comments” to her after she began working at the media company in the late 1990s. In 2001, Lauer invited her into his office. He used a button under his desk to lock the door remotely. He’s then accused of asking the employee to unbutton her blouse, a request to which she acquiesced. She claims Lauer then got up… pulled down her pants… bent her over a chair … and had intercourse with her. She says she passed out halfway through the experience. She says she later woke up on the floor and heard Lauer asking his assistant to take her to a nurse. The alleged victim says she didn’t report the incident at the time because she feared she would lose her job, although she did leave NBC about a year later. The New York Times says the woman’s ex-husband has confirmed she told him about the assault soon after it happened, while a friend says the woman shared her story with her five years ago. Neither Lauer nor anyone representing him has responded to this latest allegation. It comes on the heels of three women also speaking to Variety and detailing other heinous acts committed by Lauer . One, who also worked for NBC, recounted how she was called into Lauer’s office “and then dropped his pants, showing her his penis.” Lauer then allegedly “reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.” Another woman says Lauer gifted her with a sex toy and grew irritated when he didn’t use it in front of her. There’s also been talk that Lauer sexually assaulted someone while covering the Sochi Olympics in 2014. Just horrible, gross stuff all around. Lauer has been a co-anchor on Today since 1994. He was the highest paid employee at the company, based on yearly salary. Upon announcing her colleague’s firing, a shaken up Savannah Guthrie said the following on air yesterday morning: We are heartbroken. I’m heartbroken for Matt – he is my dear, dear friend and my partner, and he has been loved by many, many people here. And I’m heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story, and any other women who have their own stories to tell. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Matt Lauer Apologizes for Causing "Hurt, Damage and Disappointment"

Matt Lauer has finally addressed the actions that prompted NBC to fire him in the middle of the night on Monday. Two days after he was let go due to what network executives deemed to be ” inappropriate sexual behavior ,” the long-time Today Show host has issued a lengthy statement. He doesn’t deny very much about what has been said about him in it. Through his own publicist, Lauer said the following this morning. We’ll just go ahead and run it word-for-word: There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. Lauer, of course, is the latest major name in Hollywood to be accused of some kind of sexual harassment or misconduct. Sparked by a report that exposed producer Harvey Weinstein as a serial predator, victims have been inspired for weeks to come forward. As a result, A-Listers such as Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K. and Charlie Rose have been exposed, accused fired or all of the above. But Lauer is probably the biggest name so far, considering how long he had served as lead anchor on Today, greeting millions of viewers every morning. There had been rumors for years that NBC might let him go due to alleged attitude problems and falling ratings. Not due to the sort of allegations that are now surrounding the embattled star. He reportedly sent co-workers sex toys and demanded they be used in his presence. He reportedly dropped his pants in front of underlings and asked them to perform a sex act. He reportedly bent a staffer over a chair in his office and had sex with her against her will, to the point that she passed out halfway through the interaction. These accusations are way past the point of the occasional inappropriate or misguided touch. It seems truly astounding (and confusing and depressing) that such actions could have been going on for so long at such a major program; without colleagues either knowing or caring enough to do anything about them. And it’s beyond disturbing that Lauer may have actually committed these acts, of course. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired? Today remains the most-watched morning program among viewers between 25 and 54, the demographic most coveted by advertisers in news programming. Lauer had been the head anchor since 1994, earning more than $25 million per year with his new contract. It’s unclear at the moment who will take his place alongside Savannah Guthrie each morning, but that’s not really anyone’s focus right now. We’re just trying to figure out what happened at the show, how it went unreported for so long… and whether we’d feel bad if Lauer were hung by his toenails for the next several hours. Upon dismissing Lauer, NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack said the following: “On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer… “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. “We are deeply saddened by this turn of events. But we will face it together as a news organization – and do it in as transparent a manner as we can.” We’ll continue to keep readers apprised of this horrible story as it develops.
