Tori Spelling learned a hard lesson in personal finance in court today. As we reported earlier this year, Spelling was sued by American Express for falling way behind on her payments back in January. Today, a Los Angeles County judge finally issued a ruling on the matter and it looks the already-struggling Spelling is about to become even more destitute. According to TMZ, Spelling will forced to fork over the full amount of the overdue balance – $37,981.97 – along with $855 in court costs. Add that up with whatever she spent on legal representation, and Tori’s on the hook for quite a few doubloons. Financially, 2015 has been quite the rough year for Spelling and husband Dean McDermott. The couple was forced to downgrade to a significantly smaller home in Encino, CA after spending the past several years in a posh Malibu mansion. To make matters worse, they were forced to suffer the indignity of going broke in the public eye, as reports of Spelling’s tiny paychecks for demeaning gigs were reported by various media outlets. The low point was likely a gig as the spokesperson for a psychic hotline that Tori took to make ends meet. Tori Spelling: Psychic Source But before you start feeling too sorry for Spelling and McDermott, it’s important to note that the couple blew massive amounts of cash in the early years of their marriage, and it looks as though they’re still not living within their means. Tori is still getting plastic surgery (and documenting the experience on Instagram, no less). She’s been spotted hitting Hollywood’s most posh boutiques in recent months. She even renewed her wedding vows with McDermott and hosted a swank reception afterward. So yeah, Tori and Dean are Hollywood broke, not coupon-clipping, mayonnaise sandwiches for dinner broke. It’s almost like growing up as the daughter of one of the wealthiest and most successful producers in the history of television didn’t prepare Tori for managing her own finances. She really shouldn’t have burned that bridge with her mom. Clearly, Tori is the kind of person who can’t afford to not be rich.

Kim Kardashian is safe and sound and back in the United States. The reality star is recovering from a truly horrific ordeal that has the Internet abuzz and her family very concerned. That’s what happens when you get held up at gunpoint, bound inside of a bathroom and fall victim to a multi-million dollar robbery. This really is what took place very early on Monday morning, as French officials have confirmed that five armed assailants broke into Kardashian’s Paris apartment around 2:30 a.m. Two of them proceeded to tie Kim up and lock her inside the residence’s bathroom, as she begged and pleaded for her life. According to an E! News insider, Kardashian was gagged and bound at her hands and feet; she was then handcuffed and held at gunpoint. “She begged for them to let her live and [said] she has babies at home,” this source tells E! of the incident, adding: “Then they wrapped her mouth in tape and put her in the bathtub.” Scared and alone, Kardashian feared the worst outcome. How could she not, right? “She thought they were for sure going to kill her,” the source says. One of Kardashian’s rings, worth an estimated $4.49 million, as well as a jewelry box, worth an estimated $5.6 million, were stolen. Overall, the thieves got away (on bikes, outlets have claimed) with over $10 million worth of swiped goods. She gave her statement… Kendall Jenner arrived around 4:30 a.m. after a night out… and then Kim boarded a private plane as soon as she could in order to get home. As previously reported, Kanye West ended his show in Queens as soon as he heard what happened to his wife and then met Kardashian at the airport. TMZ has photos of Kanye and Kim in New York City, surrounded by well over 10 bodyguards and nearly just as many vehicles. This is a video of West ending his concert prior to its scheduled conclusion, telling fans in attendance about a “family emergency.” Kanye West Stops Concert Due to “Family Emergency” “Kim was terrified,” a source close to West tells People of her initial call to her husband. “She was just hysterical when she talked to Kanye. He said she was really upset and it took him a few seconds to understand what she was saying to him. “He wanted to get to her as soon as he could. He told her that he couldn’t care less about the jewelry; he’s just thankful that she’s okay.” We feel the same way, as everyone should. No matter what you think about Kim Kardashian as a business person or Instagram account holder or former sex tape star, she’s also a wife. And a mother. And a daughter. She did not deserve to go through this ordeal. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo condemned the attack on Kardashian via Twitter, saying she’s always welcome in Paris. “This very rare act occurred in a private space and does not in any way call into question the work of the police and the security of the public space,” she said. E! News has also reached out to Kim’s famous mom, Kris Jenner, who said her daughter “will be OK.” Finally, E! released a statement of its own this morning, in light of its relationship with Kardashian. It reads: “All of us at E! are incredibly thankful that Kim Kardashian West is safe, and we send her and her family our love and support. Keeping Up with the Kardashians was not filming at the time of the robbery. Our focus right now is entirely on Kim’s well-being.” As it should be.

Houston police say that officers have shot a suspect who opened fire in the city on Monday morning, taking him into custody before he could take any lives. According to Houston Office of Emergency Management spokesman Michael Walter, a minimum of nine individuals were transported to hospitals with injuries from the shooting. The incident took place near Wesleyan Street and Bissonnet Street. The statuses of those injured are unknown at the moment. There are no reports of any other shooters at this time, per the Houston Police Department official Tweeter feed. It wrote the following shortly after apprehending the suspect, whose name has not yet been released: An emergency alert went out this morning that stated the shooting scene was believed to have been contained to the area of a strip mall. The alert told residents in the area to stay far away. Authorities have not released further details regarding the shooting, according to CNN and other outlets. But KTRK reports that firefighters and police officers swarmed the scene once gunfire broke out. UPDATE : At least one victim is in critical condition, while another is in serious condition. The conditions of the other victims remain unknown. We’re also learned that the suspect was an attorney and that authorities are investigating whether issues at his law firm led to the shooting. A bomb squad reportedly searched the suspect’s vehicle and found “additional weapons inside,” the police now confirm. One witness, Antwon Wilson, told ABC 13 that he was caught in the crossfire. And he’ll never forget the experience. “I literally heard the gunshots past my face,” he told the station. “It’s a hard pill to swallow.” We will continue to update this story as more news breaks.

Derrick Rose Pushes To Make Accuser’s Name Public Derrick Rose’s gang rape case is still going heavy day by day. Now, Derrick’s team is trying to force the judge to let the world know exactly who is bringing these charges forward against him, saying that since she has so much to say to the public about the incident in question, she doesn’t deserve any anonymity . Via TMZ : Derrick Rose says he’s sick and tired of his rape accuser bashing him to the media — and he’s now begging a judge to force her to reveal her identity once and for all. We broke the story, the NBA superstar is being sued by a woman using the pseudonym “Jane Doe” — who claims Rose and his friends gang raped her back in 2013. Typically, the law allows someone who claims to be the victim of a sex crime to file a lawsuit under a pseudonym to protect their privacy rights. But Rose has just filed new legal docs saying Jane Doe has abused the privilege by going on a “nationwide pretrial media blitz” over the past week … which included phone interviews and a news conference. “Because Jane Doe and her lawyers are openly pandering to the media on a nationwide blitz tour, Ms. Doe should be precluded from using a pseudonym for any purpose, including media coverage.” In the docs, Rose accuses the woman of trying to get the case to play out in the court of public opinion so she can get a “large and extortionate settlement payment.” Generally in rape cases, the accuser’s name stays private for the VERY reason that sexual violation is a private matter, and the general public tends to put the victim on trial far more than the accused. The highly public circumstances of this one are definitely NOT like a typical rape trial…but will the judge really go for this reasoning? It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.

Travis $cott Hospitalized For Dehydration Looks like Travis $cott has been riding the wave of his latest album’s success a little TOO hard. The rapper had to cool out in the emergency room for a little while earlier today. Apparently he just didn’t stop to drink quite enough water. Via Billboard : Travis Scott was hospitalized Sunday due to dehydration, according to an Instagram post by his manager, David Stromberg. Stromberg posted a photo of Scott asleep in a hospital bed, accompanied only by the caption: “sunday.” When fans expressed concern about the MC’s condition, Stromberg replied in the comments: “he’s fine. he was just dehydrated.” Scott’s sophomore album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, was No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last week. Woman Admits To Pulling Prank On NYC Subway Remember that mentally disturbed woman who made a couple dozen New Yorkers’ commute hell with a box of bugs last week? About that… Via MailOnline : A budding actress and married mother of two who released hundreds of live worms and crickets in an NYC subway car in a chaotic prank has been arrested. Zaida Pugh, 21, posed as a deranged woman last week on a Brooklyn-bound D train. She pretended that she wanted to sell the insects until a man – who was later revealed to be an accomplice – intentionally flipped the container holding them, sending 300 crickets and 300 worms across the Subway car. Pugh, from Brooklyn, said the situation got out of hand as she didn’t expect that someone would pull the emergency brake. But that is what happened, and passengers were stuck inside an AC-less car for 30 minutes while Pugh stayed in character – and let her prank escalate to unforeseen heights. She kept screaming and acting erratically, at one point urinating on herself. But Pugh has since revealed the whole thing was a set-up and claims she was trying to shed light on how homeless people are treated in public places. She faces charges of reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration, false reporting an incident and disorderly conduct, the New York Daily News reported. Um…does she realize that most homeless people don’t assault strangers with live insects, strand them for 30 minutes in a hot and crowded location, and pee all over the place?? Hopefully the 33 people who were hospitalized this week after overdosing on a synthetic marijuana called K2, learned their lesson to be careful what you put in your body. According to the New York Post , New Yorkers started dropping like flies all over Brooklyn after having watch officers described as a “bad batch” of the drug. Witnesses describe it as Zombieland, and reported seeing people laying out in the sidewalk, foaming from the mouth, vomiting and walking into traffic “zoned out”. Today, music legend and eccentric pop culture icon Prince died at age 57 . While police are still investigating the cause of his death, TMZ has obtained the audio recording of the 911 call made after he was found dead at his Paisley Park compound in his native Minnesota. In the emergency dispatch call, an operator is heard confirming a “male down, not breathing” at Prince's address. According to TMZ, the singer was found unconscious in an elevator in his home. Paramedics attempted CPR, but were unable to revive him. Prince was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:07 a.m., central time. Last week, after a concert in Atlanta, the singer was rushed to the hospital after his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois. Reps for Prince informed media he was battling a bad case of the flu, and that he had been treated and was back on the plane bound for home within three hours. The “Purple Rain” megastar performed a concert the next day and assured fans he was fine. Now, fans are wondering if there may have been a deeper issue that the notoriously private celebrity was hiding. Some have speculated that he knew his death was pending, as he began penning his memoirs last month and made a eerie comment during a party at Paisley Park last weekend. “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers,” he told attendees. If you're in the middle of dinner, you may want to set it aside while you read this. A man who spent more than $500,000 in plastic surgery to look like a Ken doll (no, not Justin Jedlica ) is in the hospital due to complications from a nose job, which is severely threatening his health. Rodrigo Alves, who has undergone 42 elective surgeries to emulate Barbie's boyfriend, has treated his body like a madcap lab experiment and it is now rejecting his new nose . “I had nose reconstruction three months ago and it appears the new cartilage has been rejected by my body,” he said, according to Daily Mail . He calls his situation “frightening” and says that he can't breathe because of a blockage caused by the infection. 'A horrible hole has appeared in my nostril and the infection is eating my nose and I've been warned if it is not stopped it could eat into my face,” said Alves. He is suffering from necrosis, a condition in which the flesh basically dies. If the infection escalates, it could turn to gangrene and he could face losing his nose. The 32-year-old is originally from Brazil, but now lives in London. He was traveling in Spain when he noticed the hole in his nose and wound up in the hospital in Malaga. Alves addressed his calamity on Instagram with the following message: “It is very unfortunate that it has happen but like I always say like with any surgery there is a risk …At least I get in trouble on my own expenses and I don't blame my doctors or anyone else.. “[Sh*t] happens and I just have to be strong. #chinup and wait few more months until I can have another rhinoplasty only because #ican “I know now you think wow this Rodrigo guy is crazy … No I m not crazy just got big balls personality and I know what I want and I go for it simple as that.”
