The Bachelor’s Brad Womack and Emily Maynard: Will They Last?

If nothing else, The Bachelor season finale was certainly a memorable one. As is often the case, the After the Final Rose special provided many of the fireworks. Just minutes after Brad Womack’s swoon-worthy proposal to Emily Maynard, viewers learned about his terrible temper – and that they briefly parted ways. They’re back together now, but Brad “couldn’t speak for Emily” when Chris asked if they’re still engaged. Never a good sign. She’s also NOT moving to Texas. Here’s the awkward ATFR interview that aired post-finale: Brad and Emily: After the Final Rose What do you think? Will Brad and Emily last? The Bachelor Season Finale: Who Did Brad Womack Choose, Emily or Chantal?

Is reality TV’s most famous commitment-phobe ready to get down on one knee? Will he propose to Chantal or Emily? Were The Bachelor spoilers correct? It’s all come down to one final rose tonight, and for the two women remaining, a final date to make their case in the quest to become Mrs. Brad Womack. How will the saga end? Which amazing woman – Emily Maynard and Chantal O’Brien – will receive a Neil Lane ring and who will depart empty-handed? THG breaks down The Bachelor season finale in a LIVE +/- recap! Come on, ABC. Ditch the “most controversial season in Bachelor history” bit. We get it. You recycled Brad. Other than that? Pretty normal season! Minus 4 . Five minutes in and Brad’s crying. Sorry … bawling . Yikes. Minus 3 . Wait … Brad is a changed man? Emily and Chantal couldn’t be more different? Wild. Missed that the first four times. Also, what is Brad wearing?! Minus 5 . Chantal is bringing it tonight. She’s holding nothing back. Plus 9 . Saying she’ll get married to Brad on the spot? Not a bluff. Talk about laying it on the line. Oh, passing the mom test. This is going down to the wire! Plus 6 . Is your top on backwards, though, Chantal? Just askin’. Minus 2 . Emily to Brad: “I’m so happy to see you.” Show-watching companion: “I’m a Barbie doll. I’m so beautiful. I’m perfect. La la.” More or less true. Plus 2 . Like they had to make Emily relive her background on camera. Eh, we got all choked up even though we’ve heard it like 49 times by now, so … Wash . Brad may be an uptight, cyborg stiff of a Bachelor , but his feeling for Emily – and Ricki – seem far from rehearsed. Plus 7 . Not looking good, Chantal. Why didn’t the non-twin Womack get the same genes? Just askin’. Minus 1 . Lots of votes for Emily Maynard. The family has spoken, and doesn’t seem to be on the fence. Plus only 5 , because there’s an hour and 20 minutes left. Will she lose the bracelet with the ex’s initials if they get hitched? No points , merely curious … is it sweet? Or a sign she can’t let go? A little of both? Man, that is some tight scuba gear. Good sign? Bad sign? Eh, Plus 2 . Chantal: “If we can get through swimming with sharks, we can get through anything.” Yes, a once-in-a-lifetime ABC-sponsored date is a metaphor for life. Minus 11 . That’s a sweet map Chris Harrison made for Chantal! Plus 4 . Channy, Channy, Channy? No, no, no, no, no. Minus 3 . If this were Jersey Shore , the phrase “get it in” would’ve been used at least 2-3 times on this date. Plus 6 for the imagery of Brad throwing around that term. Honestly, how many helicopter rides does one girl need to consider herself wooed? Minus 8 . We know they ran out of date ideas by the 200th season, but still. We were going to mock Brad for saying this was “the most important talk of his life,” but we’re pretty sure he just proposed … to be Ricki’s dad. Sniff. Plus 5 . Whoa, short fuse alert! She’s just covering her bases, B. Yeesh . Minus 13 . Toweling himself off? Asking for water? Is Brad having a nervous breakdown?! Brad laments that he was defeated. “Slapped in the face.” And “shot out of the water.” Oh, and “profoundly hurt!” Nice misdirection, Chris/Brad/ABC! Plus 4 . Cue obligatory episode recap/Neil Lane filler. Minus 7 . How appropriate. En route to the final rose ceremony, Emily is in white, Chantal in black. Minus 9 for obviousness. She’s the Black Swan of The Bachelor . Look at host-pimp Chris. So very cool, so collected. Plus 5 . At least he gave it to her straight. When he says he’s meant every word from day one, he’s probably being genuine. Still hurts, though. Hard . Minus 8 . Plus 7 because we like Chantal, and because she’ll land on her feet. Possibly even in a dress without those feathers. Things happen for a reason! Can you imagine if Emily Maynard shot Brad down? Now that would be a twist. Won’t happen but you can kinda see it, and wonder if this is gonna last. Okay, Plus 35 for that beautiful dress, the beautiful bride-to-be, and for a proposal that made this celebrity gossip site’s offices just a little dusty. And Plus 7 more for his trademark “Come here to me, please.” This is some montage. If only Train’s “Marry Me” were “their” song. Alas, it forever belongs to Brad and Ashley. Hey, nobody’s perfect. Minus 3 . Man, Chantal O’Brien is still hurting on After the Final Rose , but still looks great. Like Melissa Rycroft, it’s not a huge surprise someone snatched her up. Plus 8 . Wait … Brad “tried” to marry Emily tonight but got shot down? AND they broke up, but are now back together and still engaged? Heads: Spinning. Minus 12 . Wow. Emily looks even better now, if that’s possible. Plus 9 . When you’re rooting for your fiancee to confirm you’re engaged? Not a good sign. Worse? When her take on moving to Austin is a resounding “no.” Minus 10 . Plus 7 for Emily calling out the show’s editing of her. When Emily says they’re “working through some issues,” she’s talking about A LOT of issues. Chief among them? Poking the bear. Don’t even ask. Minus 6 . That was the most rambling, drawn-out yes of all time, but Emily did say she sees herself marrying Brad. We have our doubts, but Plus 13 for now. Man, this After the Final Rose special is starting to feel like couples therapy. Minus 8 . Including Ali and Roberto as a “success” is a tad presumptive, but whatever. RUNNING TOTAL: +36. What do you think: Will Brad Womack and Emily Maynard last?

Brad Womack on The Bachelor Season Finale: Real Tough Call!

Chantal O’Brien. Emily Maynard. The Bachelor star Brad Womack says both “would make incredible wives, incredible mates” and that he labored over who to give his final rose to. “Both had qualities I was looking for,” he said during a taping for the Women Tell All special tomorrow night, with the season finale set for March 14. Chantal O’Brien is “up for everything, fun … we hit it off early. There was immediate physical chemistry. But we had a lot of highs and lows.” “When she gets so upset, like she did in Anguilla, it makes me wonder if we could find that rhythm and make it work for the rest of our lives.” As for Emily Maynard ? Brad calls her “an incredible mother – [a] really sweet and a caring, sensitive woman that is also quite easy on the eyes.” “She went through a tough situation with the plane crash and becoming a single mom. But she rose to the occasion beautifully. I admire that.” “She makes me a better person when I am around her.” So who’s it going to be? The Bachelor spoilers have indicated a finale with these two for months, but the winner has long been in dispute. One thing’s for sure – Brad is not dwelling on either’s past. “I chalked up Emily and Chantal’s situations [to] the past,” he says. “I have one, too. If anyone has baggage that should be of concern, it’s me.” “That isn’t to say that Emily’s past didn’t give me pause,” says Brad of her situation. “It’s intimidating to think about becoming a part of her life.” “She lost a love in a tragic event while pregnant. That changes a person.” Still, Womack says, he’s ready to make a firm commitment to whomever he picked – and he’s deeply in love with the woman who got the rose. “I was here to settle down, find a wife and get started on making a family,” he says. “I’m ready for that so, hell, if we can do it right away, great.” Who do you think should win The Bachelor?

The Bachelor Spoilers: Brad Womack Engaged to …

This evening on The Bachelor, Brad Womack takes his final three potential wives – Ashley Hebert, Chantal O’Brien and Emily Maynard – to South Africa. There can be only one Final Rose doled out March 14, though, which means two emotional decisions await Brad before then. Two beauties must be cut. We now know for sure who wins that final rose – and if you’ve been reading The Bachelor spoilers up until now, it’s actually NOT who you think. Will Brad pick Ashley (left), Chantal (center) or Emily (right)? Last week, we reported that one of the women above would be the next Bachelorette . This still appears to be the case. But the winner of this season? Intelligence now suggests a different conclusion to the finale than we believed to be accurate as recently as this weekend. So who’s it gonna be? Follow the jump for all The Bachelor spoilers … Having led people to believe Brad was engaged to Chantal O’Brien for three months now, Reality Steve is now eating crow , and a hearty helping at that. Brad has been engaged to Emily Maynard this whole time. Whether sources were deliberately misled to keep this ending a secret until the end (or at least very close to the end), is unclear. But that’s how it is. The dominoes started to fall recently. Chantal was seen out on a date – potentially explaining why she would turn down the role as The Bachelorette . When we assumed it was Emily who got rejected in the end, and then heard Ashley H. would be The Bachelorette , we assumed Emily didn’t want it. This made more sense, given her family situation. But why would Chantal turn it down? If rumors that she met a new guy are correct, this adds up. Also, Emily’s house is on the market in Charlotte, and Brad supposedly let it slip (in not as many words) on vacation in Cabo that Emily is the one. Cue the deluge of emails from insiders saying with 100 percent certainty that it’s Emily, not Chantal, and we’re all up to date, having done a 180. There you go. Sorry, fans of Chantal O’Brien, but as a leader in the field of celebrity gossip , sometimes we report on just that. Gossip and rumors. We don’t like to be wrong, but we’re only as good as inside sources purportedly are. We’ve now given you the latest, most accurate scoop we’ve got. No matter what, you can always count on us for that. What do you think? Is Emily Maynard right for Brad? Would you have rather seen him with Chantal or Ashley – and are you convinced this is correct?

Laurel Kagay: Brad Womack Proposed to Me Last Summer!

Brad Womack has played the role of a commitment-phone turned “changed man” well on this season of The Bachelor, his second in the starring capacity. But if the Texan does get down on one knee and propose to Chantal O’Brien, Emily Maynard, Ashley Hebert or Michelle Money, it won’t be the first time. At least according to Laurel Kagay, his on-off girlfriend of eight years. She tells Us that Brad asked to marry her several times – including last summer! DOUBLE LIFE : Laurel raises some pretty serious questions if what she says about Brad is true. But was there even any deception involved on his part? “Even when we weren’t together, he’d say how much he loved me and was going to marry me,” says Laurel, noting that Brad proposed right before The Bachelor . After spending the summer trying to woo her back , making comments to the effect of “I will marry you right now,” he left to star on the ABC show a second time. THG NOTE : If Laurel Kagay looks familiar, it’s because she also dated Wes Hayden, and was his rumored “girl back home” while he was on The Bachelorette . Wes denied he and Laurel were an item at the time of the show, despite a major hatchet job by the producers (and Jake Pavelka) to convince us otherwise. Regardless of what happened there, she and Brad were serious. Even after he left to film the show last fall, Brad Womack continued to send Kagay emails. Now that Womack is telling the world he’s found love this time around ( The Bachelor spoilers here offer a good guess at who), Kagay wants to warn her. “I’m sure the girl he picked would want to know he was proposing to another woman right before he started taping,” she says. “I would want to know.” What do you think? Even if this is true, should it matter?

The Bachelor Recap: Black Eyes, Money Dates

Last night’s episode of The Bachelor was all about facing our fears. Or so the cue cards said. Who’s up to the task and who’s packing their bags, ladies? The fourth installment of the new season certainly provided its usual quota of tears, catty comments and unintentional comedy. How did it all play out? Let’s break it down right here. On to THG’s classic +/- recap! Michelle Money is really coming into her own as an insane contestant. The episode hilariously opens with Michelle waking up to learn she has a black eye. “I have no idea what happened,” she tells Brad. Meghan thinks she’s just trying to get attention … by punching her own face?! Eh, we’ll buy it. Plus 10 . Ashley S. couldn’t care less how it happened, she just wishes she had been responsible. “I want to rip her head off,” she says. Girl, tone down the crazy. Minus 4 . Off to Catalina with Chantal. Where Kip-Ten fell in love. So poetic. Plus 3 . Chantal name-checks all the Bachelor catch-phrases in like three minutes: “Find the right person,” “I have trust,” “He’s worth it,” “Follow my heart,” etc. Minus 9 . Over dinner she tells Brad that she wants to get married again. We admit, we sort of like Chantal O’Brien. Brad really seems to act like himself with her. Plus 8 . Dude needs to speak without being so rehearsed though. His scripted lines don’t always come out right, i.e. “I want to continue this, badly, with you.” Minus 3 . Brad pretends he’d heard of Dr. Drew three hours prior to this . Minus 6 for the group going to Loveline with Dr. Drew and acting like they’re being all profound in opening up about relationships. Just seems silly and contrived. Outside, Ashley H. is worried she’s not getting any time with Brad. She then proceeds to get all kinds of drunk at the pool party. Gotta love The Bachelor. Plus 6 . Brad is going to give her a rose to make her feel better, but “UGH, this is AWKWARD!” she wails, interrupting Brad and earning Britt the rose instead. Minus 14 . Ashley H. is coming out of her shell and providing a nice, not-quite-as-nuts kind of crazy counterbalance to Michelle, though. We hope she sticks around. Plus 4 . As The Bachelor spoilers predicted, Michelle gets a one-on-one date. And is just as insane as you think about “ME TIME!” She can become grating fast. Minus 7 . Before rappelling down the side of an LA skyscraper, a tearful Michelle decides to “take a leap of faith for love.” Good one, Chris and Mike. Well-written. Plus 9 . Just pop the question already, Brad. We know you want to. Even though she didn’t get a one-on-one date, Brad takes Emily Maynard outside for a private picnic. Sort of giving the shaft to the other girls, but it’s Emily. Plus 10 . Chantal is most affected by Brad’s gesture, questioning whether she is “unstable” and “meek” enough for Brad. Wow, that’s rough. But a little true, so Minus only 3 . “It’s hard to be reminded he has special things with other people too.” – Chantal. On The Bachelor, yes, who’d ever have seen that shocking twist coming. Plus 4 . Again with Brad’s odd comma use. After he cuts three women loose, he says “Come here, to me, please?” Brad, it’s okay to speak off the cuff at times. Minus 7 . At least they got Chris Harrison out of bed for the ceremony. Plus 3 . TOTAL: +4. SEASON TOTAL: +46. ROSE RECIPIENTS: Alli Travis, Ashley Hebert, Ashley Spivey, Britt Billmaier, Chantal O’Brien , Emily Maynard, Jackie Gordon, Lisa Morrisey, Marissa May, Michelle Money, Shawntel Newton . OUT : Stacey Queripel, Meghan Merritt and Lindsey Hill.

Ali Fedotowsky Picks Obvious Bachelor Favorites

You don’t really need The Bachelor spoilers or the reigning Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky, to tell you who Brad Womack has eyes for this season. Ali’s top pick, if she were doling out roses on Brad’s behalf? Southern sweetie Emily Maynard, the 24-year-old widow and single mom. Shocker! “I think he’d be a great match with Emily,” Ali said. “Sweet, southern, knockout, beautiful beautiful. She seems like a total package to me.” Are Chantal O’Brien (left) and Emily Maynard locks for hometown dates? The Fox 5 San Diego correspondent, who visited The Bachelor to “assist Brad” with fiance Robert Martinez, also clicked with Chantal O’Brien . “She’s so raw – matter of fact, down-to-earth,” Fedotowsky said. “I don’t know as much about a match with Brad, but I like her personally.” Those are our two picks to make the final rose ceremony as well. We just get a feeling they have an edge over all the other girls, don’t you? What do you think? Brad Womack should totally pick …

NeNe Leakes: Down with Kim Zolciak!

We have bad news for fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta : the show is totally fake and scripted. Oh, also: NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak, who went at it on this week’s episode , are still angry at each other. “I haven’t spoken to Kim in six months now,” Leakes told Zap2It. “I will never speak to her again and I will never have anything to do with her again ever, because I have come to a place in my life in my life where I am comfortable. I don’t need drama. I don’t need people in my life who don’t lift my spirits.” NeNe admits that Kim can be a “great person to go out with,” but continues to take exception to how Zolciak acts toward her assistant, Sweetie. “Kim treats her like a slave. Anybody who’ll let anybody talk to them, black, white, whatever color, talk to her like, ‘Get your Black a** up,’ or ‘Get my cigarettes, “B***h,’ you have to be a slave. Because there is nothing else in the world you can be to allow that. There’s not enough money in the world to allow someone to speak to you that way.” The Bravo writers NeNe has spoken.
