The Bachelorette Recap: Who Made the Final Two?

If The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard felt that her decision to cut Chris loose after last week’s hometown dates was hard, this one was near impossible. Things got even more serious, emotional and dramatic in Curacao as Emily went on very romantic dates with Arie Luyendyk, Jr., Sean Lowe and Jef Holm. Three worthy candidates, only two roses in play. Who would she pick? And how would she handle the fantasy suite card situation, given that she’s a mom? Follow this link for all The Bachelorette spoilers we know about the July 22 finale, then continue on for THG’s +/- recap of the penultimate episode! Obligatory Curacao nature montage and recap of the final three guys and their “journey” with Emily so far. Minus 4 for the even-longer-than-average filler. Emily has nice penmanship, even in sand. Plus 2 . Sean’s shoes match his blue shirt perfectly. What guy does that? Apparently Sean Lowe, Ames Brown and Pauly D. Minus 5 , in spite of the obvious effort. Look at Sean, getting all flustered talking about his ex … and a little more unnerved trying to open up to Emily. Cute or a red flag? Hard to read. Even . Time’s running out to go there, Sean. Minus 10 . His letter to Ricki made it dusty in here. Plus 25 . Still holding something back, though. Just say it man. Go on. Okay, that kind of counts for redemption. Gotta love that the fantasy suite card is from Chris Harrison. Host-pimp sure knows how to take care of his ridiculously attractive employees. Plus 15 . Plus 20 for Emily calling it a night solo. Even after the hot tub makeout session no less. Girl’s priorities and commitment are pretty impressive. Minus 5 , because as awesome as Sean is, do they lack a spark? Is he too safe? Not exciting enough for Emily, who seems to like guys with an edge? Jef Holm has vaulted from dark horse to full-on frontrunner status. “I’m so happy with where our relationship is right now.” What more can Emily say? “I hope to be the second biggest part of Emily’s life.” – Jef. Smart guy. Plus 10 . There’s a level of communication here that transcends Sean’s. “The sun is setting here in Curacao, but for me and Emily, our whole life together is just beginning.” – Jef/ Bachelorette staff writers. Groan. Minus 5. Emily says she’d move to “wherever you are.” Woman certainly knows what she wants, and more and more, that appears to be Jef. Plus 9 . This is the most serious date in Bachelorette history. Why are you still single? Would Ricki like me? Not leaving anything on the table, are we? Jef quasi-rebuffs the Fantasy Suite invite before Emily can do it to him. Guy’s been playing hard to get from the get-go. Interesting tactic. Plus 7 . “There is a time and a place for everything, and now is the time to bridle these passions.” Very mature move, but who talks like that? Minus 14 . “My connection with Arie was literally almost immediate.” – Emily. That makes literally almost no sense, but we totally get it, so Minus only 3 . “We always want to kiss each other, and it feels great.” – Arie. Well put. Minus 7 . Swimming with the dolphins looks awesome. But not as much as kissing, which is all they seem to do. All of his “top moments” involve kissing. Hey, they’re both good at it. Who wouldn’t want to make out with either of them? So Plus 11 . Ah, but back to reality … what does Arie Luyendyk, Jr. do on a Tuesday morning?! No one knows! Minus 10 , because physical chemistry and dream dates will only carry you so far, even on The Bachelorette . Jef may have the edge as a result. Arie sleeps until 9 and goes out to dinner every night? Not exactly stepfather stuff … but he does seem legitimately interested in Ricki, so Plus 7 . Emily makes Arie feel like a natural man. Or something. Plus 3 ? He’s SO good looking … Emily won’t give him the fantasy suite card because she doesn’t trust herself! The Bachelorette: Mom Edition definitely lacks the sleaze factor of past seasons. Plus 25 , even if it’s sometimes less entertaining. Fireside chat with Chris/filler time. Minus 8 . To paraphrase Chris from like every episode … this could be one of the hardest decisions in Bachelorette history. She seems genuinely interested in all three guys and unsure of who she’ll send home. Break out the tissues early. But she’s got great clothes. Plus 2 . Sean goes all in on his video message at least. Will it be too little, too late against Jef and his usual eloquence, or Arie’s surprisingly moving profession of love? All of them collectively, combined with the circumstances, move her to tears. Plus 10 . Long speech. Longer pause. JEF. Even longer pause. ARIE. Poor Sean. That ranks among the saddest goodbyes in recent memory. Minus 20 . EPISODE TOTAL: +47. SEASON TOTAL: +171. Did Emily Maynard make the right call sending home Sean Lowe? Who do you think she should choose on The Bachelorette finale?

Maci Bookout and Kyle King: Back Together?

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout broke up with Kyle King after two years of dating this winter, but sources report that their relationship is NOT over. Bookout, 20, moved out of the home they shared with her son Bentley, 3, and into a bachelorette pad in Chattanooga, Tenn., with some friends. Much as that would signal that she and Kyle were over for good, Maci, 20, is on the brink of reuniting with Kyle, 24, a source tells Us Weekly: “They still hook up, and lately they’ve been inseparable.” Why the change of heart? A wake-up call courtesy of the Teen Mom season premiere , when she watched a now year-old fight with King play out. “It made her realize how crazy she’d been acting,” says the insider. The MTV reality star isn’t opposed to a long-term relationship with King, but realizes that the key to a lasting bond is a bit of distance short-term. “I think Kyle and I could make things work right now,” she says. “But we’d rather figure ourselves out first and then try to make a life together.” “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think [Kyle was The One],” Maci Bookout says of her man. “But I’m only 20. There’s no need to rush into anything.”

The Bachelorette Promo: I’m Falling in Love … With More Than One Person!

Emily Maynard is falling in love on The Bachelorette . That’s the good news. The bad? It’s with more than one person, as she tells us in the promo for next week! Yes, the show recycles this line every season, but in Emily’s case, it really does appear true. Jef Holm, Sean Lowe and Arie Luyendyk, Jr. have all won her over. Who will she pick? Read The Bachelorette spoilers if you want to know the latest intel there. Regardless, it clearly won’t be an easy call for the 26-year-old: The Bachelorette Episode 809 Promo With overnight dates looming in Curacao, how will the single mom reconcile the fact that all of the above are looking more and more like husband material? “From here on out it’s Emily trying to choose a lifestyle, a father for Ricki and a great man and husband for herself. These guys just get better each week and in my opinion she’s narrowed it down to three phenomenal guys,” says host Chris Harrison. “Emily was a mess. She began to get really emotional, not only that time is running out, but she was freaking out that she’s falling for three guys.” “She was thinking how tough it would be to say goodbye to [Chris Bukowski], but really I think she was thinking afterward how it’s going to be impossible to say goodbye to Sean, Arie or Jef. It all hit her that she’s far from done.” Two of these guys are going to be crushed, from the looks of the promo above and everything we’ve seen in recent weeks. But which two is the question? Again, the link above gives away the supposed ending if you’re curious. If you wish to remain in the dark, you likely have a favorite of the remaining three. Her respective chemistry with Arie Luyendyk, Jr. , Sean Lowe and Jef Holm is undeniable, but different in each case. Which suitor will ultimately win out? The season finale airs on a special night, Sunday, July 22, with a LIVE After the Final Rose special to follow, in which Emily makes a big announcement. Who do you think she should pick on The Bachelorette finale?

Emily Maynard: Cracking Under Bachelorette Pressure?

The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard may have found Mr. Right in the end – read the latest Bachelorette spoilers here to learn who – but it wasn’t easy on her. The 26-year-old single mom became increasingly stressed out and worried about her looks throughout the season, according to a new report in Us . “She literally cried,” an insider says, if she was at all dissatisfied with her on-set hair and makeup, and “would throw a fit if she didn’t like her outfit.” “She’d break out in tears when she was unhappy about anything.” For a young woman who always seems so put-together, this report is a little surprising … or just false. Either way, it’s easy to see why she’s stressed. As a single mom to Ricki, who just turned seven, Emily Maynard faces a tougher decision than most of the ABC show’s stars that came before her. Any Bachelor or Bachelorette fan knows it may not work out after the hit show, but the prospect of failure is harder to stomach with a child involved. It remains to be seen if Maynard will accept a proposal from either Sean Lowe, Jef Holm or Arie Luyendyk on The Bachelorette’s Sunday July 22 finale. Tell us below: Who do you think she should choose?

Ali Fedotowsky to Emily Maynard: Sean Lowe FTW!

Ali Fedotowsky, who starred on The Bachelorette two summers ago, recently offered her views on who Emily Maynard should pick and as her lifelong mate. “Okay, I keep going back and forth. Like, literally, I’ve changed my mind 500 times,” Ali said of Emily’s remaining aspiring husbands, of whom four remain. While Ali first thought it was either Jef Holm or Arie Luyendyk, Jr., she now says she’s ruled out Arie and doesn’t think Jef is ready to be Ricki’s stepfather. She likens Emily and Jef to herself and Chris Lambton, the runner-up to Roberto Martinez (who she broke up with after an 18 month-engagement) in 2010. “This is a confusing season! She keeps saying that her relationship with Jef is slow to develop – that’s what I always used to say about Chris,” says Ali . “I mean, Chris is a great guy, such an awesome guy. But that’s like code on The Bachelorette for ‘we’re really just not romantically into each other.’” Which brings her to the pick: “If I had to guess right now, I’m going back to Sean Lowe ,” the insurance salesman from Texas who moonlights as a male model, she finally answered. The Bachelorette spoilers offer some hints as to who makes it past the hometown dates, but as far as her final rose recipient, all bets are still off! Whom do you think Emily should end up with?

Jef Holm on The Bachelorette: Playing Hard to Get With Emily Maynard

Jef Holm (with one F) says taking it slow with Emily Maynard and making her pursue him too was his plan from the start on ABC’s The Bachelorette. The 27-year-old entrepreneur – like Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and Sean Lowe – is rumored to be a finalist this summer, and spoke about it with reporters. Emily’s alleged final three (according to The Bachelorette spoilers , anyway) have all given interviews while still on the show, a first for the TV franchise. Here are some things Jef Holm shared about his pursuit of Emily: On taking it easy : “Every guy was going full steam ahead for Emily, surrounding and swarming her. That’s not how I am with girls. I was the only guy who played it cool. I wanted her to know she’d have to fight for and pursue me, too.” On not kissing Emily until London : “I wasn’t ready to take it to the next level. If we developed feelings, I want them to [go] both ways.” “We started off slowly but we developed a really good friendship. As time goes on, that friendship turns into more and more of a romance.” On falling for Emily Maynard : “She’s the most amazing girl I’ve ever met.” “I had no idea how well spoken and smart she is. She’s a great mom – patient, loving, good in difficult situations, composed, sassy, sarcastic. And she’s gorgeous.” “She’s always herself and doesn’t care if cameras are watching her.” On potentially being a stepfather : “I would love to skateboard and play soccer with [Ricki] and that’s something Emily and I connected over.” “I can’t wait to be a dad. At this point on the show, in Prague, I could definitely see myself being a father to Ricki and a husband to Emily. On his competition : “There were some amazing guys there. I think the world of Arie. Sean Lowe is a faithful, genuine guy. Chris and Doug are great.” On whether he’d be The Bachelor : “I learned a lot about myself and met an amazing person so I’m glad I went … but probably not.” Who do you think Emily should choose?

Emily Maynard: Choosing Fame Over Daughter Ricki?

The Bachelorette Emily Maynard star may be on her way to a happy ever after, but at the cost of her daughter … according to a ridiculous new tabloid report . Alleged insiders reveal her bitter fight with the parents of her late fiance (and daughter Ricki’s father) Ricky Hendrick. Which we’ve all heard about by now. “They were beside themselves when they found out she wanted to put little Ricki on TV,” an insider tells In Touch of the couple and their views on Emily. “They think it’s outrageous to put [Ricki] in the middle of a media circus.” While a friend of Emily’s says reports of a rift are untrue, other sources close to the reality star say The Bachelorette has “really strained their relationship.” Sources say Rick and Linda Hendrick tried to accept Emily’s choice to compete for Brad Womack’s affections on The Bachelor, but were opposed to this. Maybe so, but the bottom line is that there is no either/or situation of “choosing fame over her daughter” and that Emily is hardly an absentee mom. Ricki has been seen on every episode this season but one, yet has yet to meet any of the guys; Ricky’s parents and Emily’s parents both care for her. If she wants to try the ABC reality franchise a second time in search of true love – see The Bachelorette spoilers for clues on how that goes – so what? Obviously she’s a devoted and loving mom … give Emily Maynard a break.

The Bachelorette Promo: Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Relationship With Producer Exposed!

Arie Luyendyk, Jr.’s much-discussed relationship with a producer on The Bachelorette will apparently be discussed on next week’s episode of the hit show. This has been well-documented throughout the season, but until now, it was unclear if Emily knew at all, let alone found out in the middle of the season. Numerous reports about Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and Cassie Lambert have circulated, though his friends have defended him and downplayed the relationship . What really happened and how will Emily Maynard react? The Bachelorette Season 8, Episode 7 Promo The surprising preview for next week (above) certainly makes it look like she’s not happy, though the producers may be more to blame than Arie here. According to Reality Steve , when Emily found out, she realized the show’s brain trust knew about Cassie and Arie the whole time and kept it from her. “Arie was told to never bring up the Cassie relationship to Emily and that it was already taken care of,” according to Steve, “yet, it wasn’t taken care of.” However Emily does find out about Arie and Cassie having a relationship, it remains to be seen whether it will torpedo the race car driver’s chances. The Bachelorette spoilers we’ve posted throughout the season offer some hints in that regard. What do you think? Should she kick him off the show? If she does, she’ll be parting ways with one of the favorites. Check out this clip of Arie and Emily on last night’s episode, getting cozy in Croatia … The Bachelorette Clip – Emily and Arie Kiss
