Emily Maynard and Jef Holm can’t catch a break from the tabloids. Last month, it was Emily supposedly cheating and getting caught sexting another man. This time, The Bachelorette winner is accused of paying him to stay engaged to her. A source close to the couple denies those claims, of course. “Everything is fine between them. They are a great couple and the wedding is definitely on,” the insider says, laughing off reports that the engagement is now a “business deal.” “He has moved to Charlotte and is living in an apartment and they are really making a go of things. They are being sensible about their relationship … there is only so much you can learn about someone over the course of the show, so they are getting to know one another better.” “They are being smart about everything. He adores Emily, and is very involved in Ricki’s life. They are happy. There are no problems between them.” The source also adds that Jef Holm would never take money from Emily Maynard ; not only is that patently false, he has far more than she does anyway. “His family has so much money. It’s beyond ludicrous to suggest that he would be making some sort of financial deal with Emily.” So, there you go. Holm beat out Arie Luyendyk, Jr., and Sean Lowe this summer to win Emily’s final rose on The Bachelorette. ABC named Sean Lowe The Bachelor this week. Emily Maynard and Jef Holm: Will it last? Yes! Jef’s the one! Emily made a great choice! No. She should’ve picked Arie. Or Sean. View Poll »
Jef Holm and Emily Maynard have certainly been put to the test ever since The Bachelorette ended, but so far, they have passed that test with flying colors. Between rumors of Emily cheating and the ever-present Bachelor curse (i.e. no one on the show actually stays together), things may not have looked good. Good thing is, no one bothered to tell them that. Not only are they not breaking up, they can’t stand to be apart, according to E! News, which heard it from the southern belle and Jef Holm themselves last week. Said Emily Maynard of her husband-to-be: “It’s so crazy how easy it is for me to be around him and um, you’re with somebody a lot and you’re together a lot and they start to get on your nerves a little bit.” “He does not get on my nerves! We can be together all the time and only leave each other to go to the bathroom, and I will miss him while I’m in the bathroom.” Safe to say she’s probably not sexting other men with that kind of mentality. As far as a wedding goes, that is still in the plans; Jef just moved to Charlotte. She did have something to say about his upcoming bachelor party, joking that ideally, it’ll take place on “An all men’s island where they do a lot of reading.” Not sure about that, Em, but we wouldn’t worry about Jef. In other news, ABC is poised to name one of Emily’s finalists Sean Lowe The Bachelor this winter. Emily Maynard and Jef Holm: Will it last?
Emily Maynard and Jef Holm continued their media blitz today, appearing on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning radio show and making a couple announcements. First, Maynard will soon be Emily Holm. “Even though I went on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette , I’m pretty traditional, believe it or not, so yeah – sure [I’ll change my name],” the beautiful single mother said. Holm then reiterated his plans to relocate to North Carolina and could not have sounded more excited over the couple’s future. “Every chance I get to see her and hang out with her, I take advantage of that,” he gushed to Seacrest. “She’s seriously the sweetest girl ever.” Finally, what about the rumor that Emily and Jef will pull a Molly and Jason Mesnick and get married on TV? “People keep asking us that, and we don’t even know what we’re going to eat for lunch tomorrow,” Maynard said. “I never thought I was going to be the Bachelorette, so I’ve learned to never say never. But it’s something we’ll have to talk about as a family.” In other words: if the money is right…
So far, so very good for Emily Maynard and Jef Holm. The single mother chose the entrepreneur on last night’s Bachelorette finale and, naturally, many viewers have already started counting down to their split. But Emily and Jef appeared together on Good Morning America today and didn’t look or sound like a couple on the verge of a split.
Nick Stahl is alive and, hopefully, on his way to doing well. The actor – who went missing on two occasions, most recently in mid-June following a trip to rehab – has found his way back to his family and is on the path to recovery, a source tells TMZ. Stahl is reportedly attending AA classes and loved ones say he’s “in a good place.” It’s unclear where the actor is residing at the moment, but sources confirm it is not at home. Stahl even Tweeted a photo of himself and his wife tweeted yesterday. The former Terminator star was initially reported missing in May, and then once again a month later. Let’s all hope that’s never the case again. [Photo: WENN.com]
Following a scathing report by an unbiased investigator, which implicated Joe Paterno directly in a cover-up that allowed Jerry Sandusky to roam free years after he sexually molested a series of young boys, Penn State officially have taken down the statue of the legendary coach from its campus. University President Rod Erickson said he reached the decision because the statue “has become a source of division and an obstacle to healing” and would be “a recurring wound” to victims of abuse had it remained. Despite enormous public pressure for the statue to go, the Paterno family remains in the corner of the former head coach, who died in February of lung cancer. The removal “does not serve the victims of Jerry Sandusky’s horrible crimes or help heal the Penn State community,” said the family in a statement, taking issue with the report by former FBI Director Louis Freeh being treated as a legal verdict and adding: “It is not the University’s responsibility to defend or protect Joe Paterno. But they at least should have acknowledged that important legal cases are still pending and that the record on Joe Paterno, the board and other key players is far from complete.” What do YOU think? Should Penn State have taken down the statue?

Then she says she hopes they’re open-minded and for half a second I wonder if she wants to choose them both. Which would definitely be a first for The Bachelorette . Back in the studio audience, Chris Harrison says this is one of the most dramatic finales in Bachelorette history. And now it’s Arie’s turn to meet the family. Arie didn’t bring flowers for Mom. Minus 3 . Dad says Arie has his work cut out for him and he isn’t sure why they’re going through with meeting another guy today. Mom encourages her to hold off on an engagement until she’s seen how the guy she chooses is with Ricki. Plus 10. Mother knows best. Now Emily’s not sure she’s ready to get engaged when this is all over and isn’t sure if any of the guys we’ve seen this season has been the one for her. What have we been DOING all summer? Minus 3. Chris Harrison asks the studio audience who they think is best for Emily. While they clearly cheer more loudly for Jef, Chris pretends they were split evenly. Minus 2 . Another Ricki sighting! Ricki’s favorite place on this jet-setting adventure has been Curacao. Mine too, Ricki. Mine too. It’s Jef and Emily’s last date. Jef sees everything in Emily that he’s ever wanted to see in the woman he’d spend his life with, but says that there’s one big obstacle in the way: Meeting Ricki. Emily says she’s stressed and Jef says he’s not stressed at all. Jef brings up the fact that he hasn’t met Ricki yet and says that he thinks about her every day, even if he’s never met her. Plus 10. Emily says it’s just a big decision. Jef asks how she’d feel if the roles were reversed. She says it would be weird. And then they stop talking and it’s awkward. Minus 12. Emily decides to introduce Jef to Ricki because she “has all the faith in the world” that this time will be different. Plus 4.
A week prior to The Bachelorette finale, Emily Maynard came face-to-face with her potential suitors on last night’s Men Tell All special . What was the most challenging aspect of the reunion for this beautiful single mother? Seeing Sean Lowe again, Emily admitted in a new blog entry. “I didn’t feel like we had much closure, and it was really important to me that he knew that everything I felt was 100 percent real for me,” Maynard writes , adding that she’s thrilled Sean is now in a “great place.” Who will Emily actually end up with? Visit our section of Bachelorette spoilers for a few theories. Who got slammed the hardest on this week’s special? That’s easy: Kalon. “He made it pretty clear he wasn’t sorry, so I wasn’t going to sit there and let him think he was tricking me into thinking he was a nice guy,” says Maynard. “People like Kalon make me sad and I’m just glad I never have to waste another second thinking about him!” NOTE : The Bachelorette finale will actually air on Sunday night, so set your DVR accordingly and answer now: Who should Emily pick?
A month before making literal waves in a London swimming pool at the 2012 Olympics, Australian Stephanie Rice is making figurative ones for a photo she recently posted on Twitter. The three-time gold medalist snapped a shot of herself in a bikini this week, showing off both her body and a birthday gift from designer Ellie Gonsalves. Simple and harmless, right? Not to some of Rice’s followers. “i feel that stephanie rice posting a photo of herself in swimwear has brought disgrace to the australian swim team and she should be dropped,” wrote one Twitter user, presumably taking issue with Rice for… okay, we have no idea. Showing more skin here than she does while donning official Olympic attire? The nerve! Rice is no stranger to somewhat racy Twitter photos, as evidenced by this picture of herself as a police officer . She was also once rumored to be dating Michael Phelps , which would be less scandalous than perfectly understandable from both points of view. So, in conclusion: Team Stephanie Rice in a Bikini!
Ali Fedotowsky, who starred on The Bachelorette two summers ago, recently offered her views on who Emily Maynard should pick and as her lifelong mate. “Okay, I keep going back and forth. Like, literally, I’ve changed my mind 500 times,” Ali said of Emily’s remaining aspiring husbands, of whom four remain. While Ali first thought it was either Jef Holm or Arie Luyendyk, Jr., she now says she’s ruled out Arie and doesn’t think Jef is ready to be Ricki’s stepfather. She likens Emily and Jef to herself and Chris Lambton, the runner-up to Roberto Martinez (who she broke up with after an 18 month-engagement) in 2010. “This is a confusing season! She keeps saying that her relationship with Jef is slow to develop – that’s what I always used to say about Chris,” says Ali . “I mean, Chris is a great guy, such an awesome guy. But that’s like code on The Bachelorette for ‘we’re really just not romantically into each other.’” Which brings her to the pick: “If I had to guess right now, I’m going back to Sean Lowe ,” the insurance salesman from Texas who moonlights as a male model, she finally answered. The Bachelorette spoilers offer some hints as to who makes it past the hometown dates, but as far as her final rose recipient, all bets are still off! Whom do you think Emily should end up with?
