Source: Meek Mill 2011 MTV2 Sucker Free Awards held at Fountainbleau Hotel Miami Beach, Florida – 11.11.11 Featuring: Meek Mill Where: Miami Beach, Florida, United States When: 11 Nov 2011 Credit: WENN The legal battle behind Meek Mill’s unjust allegeldy probation violation sentencing continues. His team has presented new facts that justify the obvious. Complex is reporting that Roc Nation has submitted new evidence that proves that they were not trying to falsify statements from A. Charles Peruto Jr, the lawyer representing the judge overseeing Meek’s case. In late 2018 the attorney filed a suit against the management agency and Amazon over his appearance in the Free Meek documentary. He volunteered to appear in the film to formally discuss the case but was caught talking reckless. He admitted that Brinkley appeared to look “f***ing awful” for not granting the MMG rapper a new case. Charles also flatly said defending her was difficult given her rulings exposed as being biased against the Philadelphia MC. Peruto filed a lawsuit against the two companies claiming the audio was altered. The court documents stated “These illegally intercepted and digitized oral communications were then edited and leaked to the press so that Peruto’s off the record words would be manipulated against him and his client, Judge Brinkley”. Well the Roc is stood ten toes down on their claims and have since hired experts that have verified that the off the record statements were not doctored. “Even though they are recompressed into different formats, their content accurately reflects the dialogue recorded in the original evidence files” the new filings read. Presiding judge on the Roc Nation / Amazon suit, Judge McHugh, will soon rule if Peruto’s lawsuit can proceed or will be dismissed. — Photo: Brian Stukes/Getty Images
Source: Google / Google Pixel 3A Yesterday (May 7) Google unveiled its new Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL phones during its I/O event. To help get the word out about the devices, the tech company enlisted the help of Rap or Go To The League crafter 2 Chainz and actress Awkwafina. In the hilarious ad, 2 Chainz and Awkwafina vent their frustrations while getting manicures about their unhelpful smartphones after Titty Boi realizes he is out of space when he tries to take a selfie with the actress. From there the two yearn for a phone that “gets them” and will allow to them do things like know their schedule, know their taste, order sea bass or even purchase Mount Fuji without having to pay for “the dumb things they don’t want.” Well, apparently you get that and more with the Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL which are the more affordable version of the tech giants Pixel 3 smartphone. Based on reviews for the phone, Google has another hit on their hands with their new devices with reviewers calling it the best Android device out despite its lower cost. For his talents, the Washington, D.C. region native will be awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor later this year. NPR reports : The stand-up comic, actor, producer and director joins a prestigious group of comedians to receive the award. Among them are Carol Burnett, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Newhart and Richard Pryor — who won the very first Twain Prize in 1998. “Dave is one of the truly original voices in comedy — the definition of a creative artist,” Matthew Winer, director of comedy and special programming at the Kennedy Center, said to NPR. “He’s a modern day sociologist, skewering stereotypes, defying boundaries and showing us that laughter can be a way to contextualize issues that we struggle to understand.” “Dave is the embodiment of Mark Twain’s observation that ‘against the assault of humor, nothing can stand,’ ” Deborah F. Rutter, president of the Kennedy Center, said in a prepared statement. “For three decades, Dave has challenged us to see hot-button issues from his entirely original yet relatable perspective.” Chappelle will return to Washington on Oct. 27 of this year in a ceremony at the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts. Demand for more answers have grown after an April officer-involved shooting in Hugo, Oklahoma that left three children injured. Officers Billy Jenkins and Chad Allen were identified as the two offers who attempted to apprehend 21-year-old William Smith who was wanted in connection to an armed robbery of a Pizza Hut. Jenkins and Allen opened fire on a vehicle they believed Smith was in, striking three children who were sitting in the backseat. “What happened between the contact with him and when police fired, we’re still trying to put that together,” Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations spokeswoman Brook Arbeitman said . “The OSBI is still investigating whether he fired at police and whether he was armed.” Smith was arrested on a robbery warrant. “My 4-year-old daughter was shot in the head, and she has a bullet in her brain, and my 5-year-old has a skull fracture,” the children’s mother Olivia Hill told local affiliate KFOR . “My 1-year-old baby has gunshot wounds on her face. My 2-year-old wasn’t touched with any bullets.” Police say they began shooting after Smith attempted to run them over with his vehicle. However, this claim is being disputed as both officers were in plain clothes and that Smith could not identify them as police. It is also suggested by the community that the officers in question could have moved out of the way instead of opening fire on a vehicle, unaware if there were children inside. “If you don’t know if someone is law enforcement or not, it changes things,” family attorney Damaria Solomon-Simmons told The Free Thought Project . “I don’t know what happened, but that’s concerning to me.” The three children who were shot were all released from the hospital but will continue to deal with a lot of “emotional pain” per Simmons.

Source: Pacific Press / Getty Despite newly surfaced video evidence from Sandra Bland ‘s point of view during her ill-fated 2015 arrest, Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis has no desire to re-open her case. “Five special prosecutors were appointed to consider the evidence. The grand jury was diligent and considering the facts and circumstances considering the arrest and her subsequent death of Ms. Bland. I have no knowledge at this time of new evidence to second guess the work of those five prosecutors or the grand jury.” The video, cellphone footage from Bland’s phone on the day of the July 2015 arrest was released to the public after being obtained by WFAA. Her sister demanded that her case be re-opened in light of the evidence surfacing. “Open up the case, period,” Bland’s sister Shante Needham said when reporter Brian Collister showed her the video. On Tuesday, investigators and special prosecutor Darrell Jordan pushed back on that notion, saying Bland’s cellphone video was considered during the original investigation. The lawyer for Brian Encinia, the arresting officer in the case said that Bland’s cellphone was given back to her family years ago. “It was part of the evidence that was considered since day one,” Encinia’s attorney Chip Lewis said. “It actually goes towards the defense I put forth that he did what he was required to do under the law and his training which was remove her from the potential threat.” Encinia was indicted for perjury. However, the charge was dropped in exchange for him never working in law enforcement again. Texas DPS also released a statement about Bland’s cellphone video: “The cellphone recording is referenced by Ms. Bland in the dash cam video that was released by the department on July 22, 2015. The video recording from Ms. Bland’s cellphone was specifically identified multiple times in the Ranger Report of Investigation. The Ranger report was made available to all the litigants during the civil litigation filed by her family. At all times, the department complied with its discovery obligations in the civil litigation. “Additionally, the video from Ms. Bland’s cellphone has been treated as public information and made available upon request (see attached). Brian Collister, the reporter who describes the video as “newly discovered,” filed a public information request back in August 2017. Mr. Collister specifically requested the video from Ms. Bland’s cellphone, and the department provided the video to Mr. Collister at that time. Again, we reiterate that the video is not newly discovered and has in no way been concealed by the department.” RELATED: Sandra Bland Secretly Recorded 2015 Traffic Stop With Overly Aggressive Officer RELATED: Sandra Bland HBO Documentary Releases First Clip Ahead Of Premiere RELATED: Sandra Bland Museum Exhibit Is Latest To Use Art To Honor Police Deaths Of Unarmed Black People
