Javier Bardem Joins Glee As Metal Rocker

If you have an Oscar, you probably don’t have to wait in the long audition lines to be on Glee . Case in point: Academy Award-winner Javier Bardem, who, after watching the entire first season of the Fox series in a week, pitched Ryan Murphy the role of a successful rocker who becomes friends with Artie (Kevin McHale). “We’re going to rock the house,” anticipated Bardem. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.” The No Country for Old Men star just worked with Glee creator Murphy on the set of Eat, Pray, Love . Trying to Look Up Helena Christensen’s Skirt of the Day

Once I got over the belief that girls who do sports are dykes out of my head and realized that girls who bike are generally girls too poor to take the bus, like students, hippies and unemployed girls with low expectations, I started noticing them…and since starting noticing them, I realize that any girl in a skirt might as well shouldn’t bother wearing a fucking skirt, cuz shit’s useless, and they are pretty much flashing cunt the entire ride, and most importantly, that sniffing a warm bike seat when the hot bitch you’ve been following parks to get an ice cream, is one of life’s greatest gifts….. Ludacris Says Nicki Minaj And Lil’ Kim Should Make A Record Together

Luda insists that a Minaj-Kim collabo would ‘kill the entire industry.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe Ludacris Photo: MTV News What’s a good way for Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj to resolve their issues ? Do a collabo, says Ludacris. If the two rap divas put their bewigged heads together and traded rhymes on a song, Luda thinks minds would blown by the resulting track. “I think if Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj do a record together it’s gonna kill the entire industry,” Luda told MTV News. He added that the two femcees should take advantage of the lack of high-profile ladies in the game right now: “You don’t have that many women in the industry so the lane is wide open.” The ATL rapper insisted that the two should work on music not only for themselves, but for their fans as well. “The fact that we have females out there that’s going back and forth — and I’m not saying it’s either one’s fault — I feel like y’all need to come together and squash all this bulls— and make records together,” Luda said. “Because [there’s] a lot of women that wanna hear what the hell y’all got to say.” Other MCs have weighed in on the controversy as well. Miami hip-hop queen Trina said the Minaj and Kim drama reflects on all femcees. “This makes us all look bad. There’s barely any female artists as is — we don’t need this,” Trina told MTV News. 50 Cent said that Kim should calm down with the swagger-jacking accusations because there is a lack of female hip-hop artists for Minaj to be inspired by. “It’s obvious … she was inspired by some of Kim’s [style]. But that’s not bad. There’s not a whole lot of female artists that you can make reference to, so you’ll see those little influences even stronger,” 50 said in an interview with Power 98.3 FM in Phoenix. Hip-hop vet Rah Digga also said the stars should keep it about the music. “My advice to everybody is just do you,” Digga told MTV. “Make your music, don’t pay attention to what’s going on around you, just do what you do best and let the fans blog it out.” Do you think Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim should collaborate on a song? Edit: US Supreme Court rules in GMO alfalfa seed case: Planting ban stands until deregulation

By a vote of 7-1 the lower court decision was reversed. So many people do not understand how important this verdict is to our environment and the safety of our food supply. Let's hope we can fight this and ban this crop from being grown to open the door to a moratorum on all GMO crops. WE MUST ALSO NOW FIGHT FOR LABELLING. They simply cannot be allowed to continue this assault on our food system. EDIT: This article by Reuters which I initially posted did not give the entire story. Please see post with information as reported by Center for Food Safety. While some parts of lower ruling were reversed, at least the ban on planting reportedly still stands for at least another year. We still have time to fight. My original comment has then been edited as well. added by: JanforGore

Said one of Pavelka’s representatives in a statement: “Jake and Vienna have split and appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time.” Because two people who had their entire courtship and relationship played out on various ABC reality shows certainly deserve privacy when something actually interesting happens between them. Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’ Video: Check Out Exclusive Sketches!

Director Mathew Cullen reveals eye-popping artwork used to create Katy Perry’s Candyfornia. By James Montgomery Concept art for Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” Photo: Matthew Cullen In the past, Mathew Cullen has run into some problems when it came to directing big-budget videos … namely, too many voices, too many people trying to tell him what he could (or couldn’t) do. Suffice to say, he didn’t have that problem on the set of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” “I definitely can say that was not the case with this one,” Cullen laughed. “It was very collaborative, no one said no to anything. And Katy, well, she was great. I’ve never met anyone who worked harder or was more committed to making a great video.” But make no mistake about it: Cullen was prepared to push Perry. As these exclusive concept sketches prove — Cullen emailed a batch to MTV News on Wednesday — he was bursting with ideas for the “Gurls” video, from wild costumes to eye-popping candy-colored sets. Not only was KP game to try them all, but the entire “Gurls” team was too. “Her main stylist coordinated a huge team of people to help make the costumes. Diesel was a part of it, designers in New York too. Every single piece of clothing was custom,” the director said. “And then we had [the painter] Will Cotton, whose work was a big inspiration on the look of the video, working as the artistic director. Everyone came together and worked very hard, because we all wanted to create something that captured her voice as an artist and celebrated her personality.” Perry was so committed to the project that she threw some ideas of her own into the mix — the whole “chest-mounted frosting cannons” thing was all her. And she put in overtime to ensure the clip would be impressive. In fact, the entire thing worked so well that Cullen only wishes the video could’ve been longer. After all, some of his clever ideas didn’t even make the final cut. “[Perry] worked 19 to 20 hour days, and only slept four to five hours in between. So, over 48 hours, she was awake for nearly 40. And it was amazing, really,” Cullen said. “She was ready to work, and wanted the video to be great. It’s too bad we had to edit it down though. We had a lot of ideas, and what’s in the video is only a fraction of them.” What’s your favorite part of the “California Gurls” video? Let us know in the comments!
