Thursday evening’s Scandal Season 3 Episode 7 on ABC was a bombshell episode in more ways than one, but the biggest bomb of all to drop was obvious: Olivia Pope’s mother is alive! After all this time! What in the? Who is she and why has she been in prison for 20 years? We did not learn the answers to those questions, as Scandal Season 3 Episode 7 left us wanting more. As did Scott Foley (below), in general. He is a handsome fella! Meanwhile, a flashback to when Fitz was governor and a revelation about the First Lady told us a lot about the man, and helped make for a revealing installment. Bossip Visits Celebrity Sew Ins And Chats With Tasha Marbury Early on in this season of Basketball Wives, viewers got a glimpse into the world of new comer Tasha Marbury and her journey in preparation for the opening of her latest venture “Celebrity Sew Ins,” a weave bar located in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn, NY. The January 2013 soft-opening of the weave bar was all but deemed a failure on the BBW episode itself, so BOSSIP decided to pay a visit to Celebrity Sew Ins to see what’s really going on with the salon and how they’re holding up almost 8 months after the episode was filmed during a recent “Champagne & Sew Ins” meet & greet event with Tasha herself. Upon entering the shop, which officially opened 2 months ago, it was evident that what was shown on the episode did it little justice. The space was tastefully draped in pink and white decor with a hanging chandelier above the welcome area and an all-white bar-like seating area with salon chairs and stylists at various stations ready to get busy. Customers were invited to walk the “pink carpet” before being escorted to the first station of the weave bar where they found a logo-bearing pamphlet featuring detailed information about available services, pricing and photos of celebrity-inspired style choices. Alongside the pamphlets were a variety of extensions to choose from provided by Glam Luxe hair company. After selecting hair, customers were then seated at the first station along the weave bar to get braided before heading over to the the second station for installation and styling. The basic time length for each service was 30 minutes, which you know is pretty impressive if you’re familiar with how long it normally takes to have a weave done. After satisfied customers finished getting styled, they were escorted to pose in front of the CSI pink carpet backdrop. Quite the one of a kind experience, we must admit. Of course you know we couldn’t leave without getting the 411 from Tasha about what really happened with “soft opening” shown on the show, whether or not she and Tami will actually be doing business together, what she thinks of her cast members at present, and more. Hit the flip to peep our chat with Tasha and more pics from her meet & greet, along with a pic of the first celebrity CSI customer, who you’ll probably recognize. Continue reading →

Man of Steel has earned an estimated $21 million from Thursday night screenings! That puts the Superman reboot at 7th place all time for “midnight” earnings. The problem with that number is that $12 million of that $21 million came from special 7pm screenings. We’re not faulting Man of Steel for having those screenings, but the context for these numbers is constantly changing. Higher ticket prices for 3D and IMAX theaters, and ever-earlier premieres make it hard to really compare performances. For reference, Iron Man 3 took in $15.6 million on its Thursday night opening. Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot is poised for a good weekend, regardless. Estimates place the film somewhere between $90-$130 million in three-day earnings. Were you part of that $21 million Man of Steel earned last night? If so, what’d you think of the movie? Read our Man of Steel review to see what we thought.
Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus made it official last night: They are filing for divorce . And while the news doesn’t come as a major shock – the couple has been through such difficulties in the past they nearly split in the fall of 2010 as well – it’s still having a profound affect on your Noah Cyrus. In response to the sad announcement, the 13-year old sister of Miley Cyrus Tweeted a basic message today: “Please pray for me and my family. Xxo.” As first reported by TMZ, Tish Cyrus cited “irreconcilable differences” in her official legal documents. She is seeking full physical and legal custody of Noah, along with spousal support and attorney fees. “This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family,” Tish told Us Weekly in a statement. “We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

Who will walk away with the title of Mr. America on The Bachelorette? More importantly, who will earn roses and advance to the next week? Plenty of favors, both formal and sexual—but mostly sexual—are exchanged in this week’s Mad Men , lending the episode its title: “Favors.” Don does all he can to help the Rosens’ son Mitchell from entering prison for draft evasion. All in the hopes, of course, of Syliva returning the favor. Ted ends up doing the bulk of the favor, asking a friend to give Mitchell a relatively harmless pilot position. Mrs. Campbell’s male caretaker may or may not be offering her some sexual favors of his own. And of course…Sylvia returns the favor. But “Favors” is less about the favors themselves, and more about the motives behind the favors. So many of our favorite Mad Men characters are supremely selfish, with only brief moments of compassion or consideration. It makes us wonder what’s in it for them. We’ve already discussed Don’s motives. He’s clearly not over Sylvia. He wants to help Mitchell so that he can get her to talk to him again; so that he’ll be seen as the hero. Ted is one of the only “compassionate by default” characters on the show, making his favor more of a reflex than a cunning strategy. He agrees to help Don help Mitchell with very little hesitation—and this, after Don nearly destroyed a dinner with Chevy by “testing the waters” on their willingness to help, given their large military contract. Only after his initial willingness does Ted realize he can use the situation to get a little something out of Don. What does he want out of Don? Just for him to be a better partner; pay attention, stop subtly competing. The most interesting motive reveal of all this episode comes from the frustratingly enigmatic Bob. We get our first real glimpse into who Bob is and what he’s after with a perplexing scene between him and Pete. After hearing that the caretaker may be taking advantage of Pete’s Mom, Bob, who recommended him, gives a long impassioned speech about how loving a man can make you feel lively, ending with a subtle-ish come-on to Pete. That Bob is homosexual would not be particularly shocking or groundbreaking—especially given Salvatore’s storyline over the first three seasons—but that he is interested in Pete certainly would be. It seems a tad asynchronous, so we’ll see how it pans out. Hopefully this isn’t the last of the Bob-related reveals, as his odd nature seems to be leading up to something big. Bob isn’t the only one with some Pete-related chemistry this week. Signs that were pointing to something between Peggy and Stan, and then Peggy and Ted, are now inching ever-so slightly towards Peggy and Pete. Beginning with Pete’s mom mistaking Peggy for Trudy—complete with an accidental reference to their child together—and ending with parallels between their lonely isolated home lives (Peggy seems to be searching for someone that can be there to kill rats—and it won’t be Stan, who adamantly proclaimed “I’m not your boyfriend), it seems Peggy and Pete may soon find themselves settling for each other out of sheer convenience. The biggest moment of the episode came, however, when Sally walks in on Don collecting his “favor” from Sylvia. Tensions have been rising all season long, and we knew Don’s affair would come back to bite him in the ass. Despite Sally seemingly coming to a reluctant surrender of her panicked disgust over discovering her father cheating, the event may just have irreparably damaged her and her relationship to Don. As soon as Sally saw Don and Sylvia together, the act became so, so real. The affair between Sylvia and Don may just be the crashing-down of Don’s world that the entire season has been pointing to. We’ll see if Sally lets it slip. RATING: 3/5
J.J. Abrams is staying in the family for his costumes on Star Wars Episode VII . Not only will the two biggest sci-fi franchises in history be handled by one director, but they’ll also be designed by one costumer. Michael Kaplan, the Costume Designer on Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness , has joined the production of Star Wars Episode VII. Not a whole lot has been set in stone for Episode VII, though Jonathan Rhys Meyers is rumored to be in talks to star . The film will reportedly follow the children of the original three protagonists, Luke, Leia, and Han. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are also apparently in talks to return. Star Wars Episode VII is preparing for a 2015 release date.
It’s a new era for Star Wars , with J.J. Abrams taking the helm as Disney is now in charge of Lucasfilm. But while many hope that Abrams will inject something new into the franchise, the director still wants to maintain a connection to the other six films. That’s why, at a press conference in Germany today, Abrams said that he wants original composer John Williams to score Star Wars Episode VII . The director stated, “For Star Wars , it’s very early days, but I believe that, going forward, John Williams will be doing that film, because he was there long before I was.” Michael Arndt is currently writing the new movie’s script, which is thought to take place some 20-30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi . It is believed that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles from the first trilogy, though not much else is known about the plot or casting. Star Wars Episode VII has a release date set for Summer 2015.
