Chris Brown/ Drake Bar Brawl: Meek Mill Speaks Out

‘I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle, and I was there,’ MMG rapper tells XXL of last week’s club fight. By Nadeska Alexis Meek Mill Photo: Chris Brown’s and Drake’s reps have issued statements about the NYC brawl between their entourages last week, but so far, the only direct words from the artists themselves have been via Twitter. Brown and MMG rapper Meek Mill have both tweeted about the incident in the past few days, but now Meek is finally speaking up about what he saw in the club that night as he stood next to Drake. In an interview with XXL, Meek was asked if he threw a bottle during the melee, which left Chris Brown, his bodyguard and several club patrons wounded. “F— no,” the Philly rapper responded, adding that Drake and Brown didn’t either. “Chris and Drake, them two was there, but it’s other people that be around that take sh– to the next level,” he said. “Things just happen in the club. I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of sh–. All types of people. I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle, and I was there.” In the hours following the brawl, Meek’s brief tweets didn’t add any clarity to the situation. He began with the coy line, “It wasn’t me…. (shaggy voice) lol,” and later responded to messages from Roscoe Dash, who blasted him along with Drake and Brown for fighting. Meek snapped back, “You gotta chill b4 you b tweeting my name in some sh– i wasn’t even really in! Stay in ya lane!” Later in the day, Brown — who had already deleted his initial tweets and the photo of his injury, which he posted right after the brawl — sent a follow up message, writing, “Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that bullsh–. Real respect Real….” Although the statement seemed odd, right after reports that Meek had played a role in instigating the fight, Meek confirmed to XXL that things were all good between him and Brown. “What [Brown] tweeted was just that me and Meek Mill ain’t got no problem,” he said. “I talked to him immediately after that, on the phone afterwards, like immediately. There’s nothing there, this-that-and-the-third. Chris Brown be in clubs. He be around situations like this. Things get out of hand. That don’t mean it’s out of hand with me and him or whoever, not even him and Drake.” Drake made his first public appearance since the brawl at his Club Paradise Tour stop in New York on Saturday night, bringing Meek along with him, but he made no real statement on what went down last week. Instead, he told fans that he’d had a rough couple of days but was in a much better mood by the time he hit the stage. Details from that night are still being revealed. The nightclub where the incident took place was shuttered this weekend, and clubgoers present at the time are reporting injuries from the brawl . Related Artists Meek Mill Chris Brown Drake

Rihanna To Sit Down With Oprah On ‘Next Chapter’

Singer will appear on the show in August, Winfrey announces on Twitter. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Oprah Winfrey is following up her sit-down with the Kardashians and 50 Cent with another pop-culture superstar interview. The talk show maven took to her Twitter on Monday (June 18) to confirm that Rihanna would appear on an upcoming episode of her OWN talk show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” Oprah didn’t have an exact date for the interview, but did note that it would all go down in August. A rep for OWN hadn’t responded to MTV News’ request for further information at press time. Rihanna appeared on Winfrey’s talk show back in January 2010 , where she performed Bob Marley’s classic “Redemption Song” to benefit the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Oprah also dedicated an entire episode of her talk show to the issue of domestic violence one year before in March 2009 . The episode was in part inspired by the 2009 assault of Rihanna by then-boyfriend Chris Brown. While Ri didn’t appear on the episode, Winfrey did have a message for young women who find themselves in abusive relationships. “If you go back with a man who hits you, it’s because you don’t think you’re worthy of being with a man who won’t,” Winfrey said during the episode. “I’ve said before, ‘Love doesn’t hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’ ” Given all the headlines that Rihanna has found herself in recently, including reconnecting with Brown on several tracks earlier this year and having her name tossed around as one of the reasons why Drake and Breezy got into a fight last week in New York City, the singer and the talk-show host should have some interesting talking points. In addition to her newly announced interview with Winfrey, Rihanna also made headlines on Monday thanks to her brand-new tattoo. Over the weekend, she tweeted out a photo of her new ankle tattoo. The tat is that of a falcon shaped somewhat like a handgun. “Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep,” she tweeted on Saturday. It joins her many, many tattoos, several of which are actually gun images . What questions do you hope Oprah asks Rihanna? Leave your comment below! The New #MoneyTeam? Oprah Stops By “Fiddy’s” Crib For Her Next Chapter TV Show [Video]

Look out Floyd, 50 has teamed up with Oprah for the real money team! It’s been a long-time coming but 50 Cent will be reconciling with mega-mogul Oprah on Sunday’s episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” After telling the Associated Press in 2006 that Oprah’s show lacked of guest diversity because she was “catering to old white women,” the G-Unit rapper, real name Curis Jackson, will sit down with Oprah in a one-on-one interview at his grandma’s house. In a recent visit to “The View,” Fif said he actually named his dog Oprah so that he could learn to love something named as such. “It started out negative ’cause I thought Oprah didn’t like hip-hop culture,” he said. “I got the dog and now I love Oprah.” 50 won’t be the only Jackson to appear on the show. Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris will also be featured. The episode airs June 10. Looks like Oprah is adding some diversity to her lineup and bringing back her popular interview series to regain some traction for her failing network. Will you be tuning into Oprah’s Next Chapter? Hit the flip for a preview of the episode next…

‘House’ Goes Out With A Bang

Series finale, ‘Everybody Dies,’ was flawed yet moving. By Tami Katzoff Hugh Laurie in the “House” finale Photo: FOX In the eight years “House” was on the air , the title character had plenty of opportunities to die: He’d been shot, electrocuted, in insulin shock and cardiac arrest and involved in a horrific bus crash, and he’d taken enough drugs to kill him many times over. Another chance came during Monday night’s series finale — and it was a big one. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!) The episode, fittingly titled “Everybody Dies,” starts off with the doctor lying half-conscious in a burning building after a heroin binge. Beside him lies his Patient of the Week, already dead. We know that he’s facing six months in prison for violating his parole, and his best bud, James Wilson, is dying of cancer. Things do not bode well for Dr. House. The story of the final hour of “House” does not unfold chronologically; we learn how House arrived at his precarious position through flashbacks. His expired patient had originally come to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital as a drug-seeker, but House quickly found evidence on the man’s body of yet another medical mystery to solve. Throughout the episode we see House being House: brilliant, manipulative and desperately unhappy. When he’s MIA from the hospital, Doctors Wilson and Foreman learn that he’s gone to score heroin from his patient, and they track him down. But they arrive at a building already consumed in flames. It’s too late for House — or is it? As in several episodes in previous seasons, various characters from House’s past visit his subconscious, urging him to get up, get out and live. But there’s an explosion, followed by a funeral. More familiar faces show up to eulogize House. They say nice things, but when it’s Wilson’s turn, he speaks the hard truth: “He was a bitter jerk who liked making people miserable.” Then we have our Tom Sawyer moment. While expounding on House’s faults at House’s funeral, Wilson gets a text that reads, “Shut up, you idiot.” By the end of the episode we learn that House has essentially faked his own death so that he can be by his best friend’s side during the last few months of his life. In doing so he has sacrificed the ability to do the thing he loves the most, solving puzzles. It’s a sweet and moving episode, but certainly not among the series’ best. There are too many implausibles: How does a crippled, drugged man escape an exploding building without a scratch? And how did he manage to switch his own dental records with those of his dead patient? Things like that don’t happen, even on “House.” Bringing back old favorites like Sela Ward, Anne Dudek, Jennifer Morrison and Kal Penn was a nice touch, but it made the absence of Lisa Edelstein’s Cuddy even more glaring. As House’s longtime boss and short-time girlfriend, Dr. Cuddy was a significant presence during seven seasons of the show. She should have been at that funeral. Like House himself, the show’s last hurrah was deeply flawed. But the final scene, with Hugh Laurie uttering his last line as House (“Cancer’s boring”) before he and Wilson ride off on motorcycles to who-knows-where, was damn near perfect.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Has No Honor

Burning kids, breaking vows and snapping necks are the topics of conversation on this week’s ‘Thrones.’ By Josh Wigler Alfie Allen in “Game of Thrones” Photo: HBO Is there such a thing as going too far on “Game of Thrones”? Just ask the charred toddler hanging on the walls of Winterfell — he’ll have an answer, I’m sure. Season two has already seen no fewer than four of its currently aired seven episodes conclude with the death of a child in increasingly brutal fashion. And “A Man Without Honor” — the 17th hour of the series — was perhaps the cruelest of the bunch, thanks to Theon Greyjoy. Not quite the boy-monster that Joffrey is, Theon is definitely giving him competition for the show’s Most Loathsome Villain award. Even though the golden-haired demon child sat out of this week’s outing entirely (ironic, given the title of the episode), Joffrey’s presence hung heavily through Sansa and Cersei, both of whom are afraid of the boy king, but for very different reasons. Oh, and did we mention that a certain little kingslayer made his ugly comeback this week? Learn all about that and more in the rest of our “Game of Thrones” recap. Better to Be Cruel Than Weak If Theon is truly lost, then he’s finding his way back to himself through fire and blood, just like Dany. Unlike Dany, his version of “fire and blood” includes murdering innocent children to further his own agenda. Theon has very clearly lost it at this point. In addition to slaying kids who may or may not be Bran and Rickon (you know the rule of fiction, guys — unless you see a character die, they’re never really dead), he’s taken to physically harming every single person who opposes him. Poor Ser Rodrik was just the tip of the iceberg. You Know Nothing, Jon Snow North of Winterfell and well beyond the Wall, the crow Jon Snow and the wildling girl Ygritte are having themselves a grand old time. Well, not grand, but certainly sexually charged. It’s funny to see someone speak in such a way to Jon. He’s not the man of the Night’s Watch he thinks he is, not in Ygritte’s eyes; to her, he’s just “a boy who’s never been with a girl.” She’s not wrong, really. But all of that might change now that the roles have reversed and Jon’s become Ygritte’s captive. Also, fans of the books, were you as psyched as I was to hear Ygritte spit out her most famous line to Jon? We’ll be hearing plenty more “you know nothings” as the season progresses, I bet. The Lion King and the Wolf Girl If the Emmys had a Best Onscreen Duo award, I’d make a strong case for Charles Dance and Maisie Williams. Their scenes as Tywin and Arya in the ruins of Harrenhal are swiftly becoming the best scenes of the season. Some out-of-context dialogue highlights: “This will be my last war, win or lose.” “Do you think I’d be in this position if I’d lost a war?” “Careful now, girl. I enjoy you, but be careful.” “You’re too smart for your own good. Has anyone told you that?” Dance and Williams just clearly get a kick out of each other, and their chemistry is infectious. Great stuff. Love Your Children Down south in King’s Landing, there’s no sight of Joffrey Baratheon, yet the Lannister-in-stag’s-clothing remains a hot topic for his surrounding court. Sansa Stark makes the bloody discovery that she’s now able to bear Joff’s children, a realization that she unsuccessfully tries to keep from Queen Cersei. Surprisingly, when giving Sansa advice, Cersei doesn’t even really recommend that Sansa work towards falling in love with Joffrey some day — “You can try,” she says skeptically, but her real advice is to “love no one but your children.” She’s having trouble listening to her own words, as Joffrey’s continued cruelty pushes the Lannister matriarch further and further away from her son. Uniquely Unfit for Constraint In further Lannister news, “A Man Without Honor” saw the not-so-triumphant return of Jaime Lannister for the first time since the season premiere. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau stole the show this episode, as he tends to do whenever he’s onscreen. But I’m glad it’s taken us this long to see him again — absence makes the heart grow fonder, even if a murderous prison escape makes it grow a little firmer in the end. Aside from seeing Jaime again, the Stark Camp story reached some other notable moments that should have fans of the books grinning: the furious introduction of Rickard Karstark, the developing creepiness of Roose Bolton, and the first mention of the MIA Barristan Selmy in what feels like ages. Yeah, remember that guy? Got a funny feeling we’ll see that bold warrior again soon. … Undying Love Finishing up all the way in Essos, we return to the plot point that’s got my head spinning most: Qarth. So, Xaro Xhoan Daxos is in cahoots with the warlocks of the House of the Undying to kill the rest of the Thirteen and become the king of the greatest city that ever was or will be? And they took Dany’s dragons, pretty much just to prove a point? Needless to say, these are more things that never happened in George R.R. Martin’s novels. And once again, not sure what to think about all of these alterations, except that I think they’re way too melodramatic for melodrama’s sake. That said, while I’m not a fan of where the story’s gone, there’s no denying that Ian Hanmore is thoroughly disturbing as blue-lipped baldy Pyat Pree, and the potential for an incredibly unsettling House of the Undying scene is certainly there. Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Glee’ Cameo: Co-Star Perez Hilton Weighs In!

Celebrity-gossip blogger skirts addressing Lohan’s alleged unprofessionalism while shooting this week’s ‘Nationals’ episode. By John Mitchell, with reporting by Audrey Kim Lindsay Lohan on “Glee” Photo: Adam Rose/ FOX Celebrity-gossip blogger Perez Hilton guest stars on this week’s big “Nationals” episode of “Glee,” but was uncharacteristically reluctant to address the rumors of fellow guest star Lindsay Lohan’s alleged on-set misbehavior when MTV News caught up with him at Wango Tango in Los Angeles this weekend. “I’m on ‘Nationals,’ a very important episode, and Lindsay Lohan is also on this episode,” Hilton told MTV News. “And it’s a nail-biter. Everybody has to watch.” When the conversation turned to allegations that Lohan was hours late to set and was difficult once she finally arrived, Hilton chose his words very carefully, turning the conversation back to himself — and in so doing, seemed to imply that Lohan was not at her professional best. Asked about talk of Lohan’s misbehavior, Hilton said, ” I showed up to set early and prepared and was very happy to be there and professional, excited and appreciative for the opportunity.” Rumors of on-set trouble erupted April 25, when actress Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste on the Fox hit, tweeted about an unnamed person’s late arrival to set, causing delays in filming. “Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things,” Jones reportedly tweeted. “Not cool! I’d rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!” Jones’ tweet has since been deleted. Regarding Lohan’s alleged tardiness, the actress’ rep, Steve Honig, told E! News that there was a mixup with her call time, and said any claims of problems on the “Glee” set are “utter B.S.” “This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today,” he continued. Like Hilton, Lohan appears as herself on the episode. The pair play judges at the national singing competition the show’s choir, New Directions, participates in. Related Artists Lindsay Lohan
