Who Scored Big in Week 17 of SNL’s Relevancy Poll?

This week was the most difficult Saturday Night Live relevancy poll of the season to tabulate. No one cast member dominated the airtime, and with few exceptions, the cast was spread pretty thin throughout the evening. Put it this way: At one point I was thinking, Wow, Abby Elliott is getting a lot of play this week; it sure will be nice to see her finally near the top of the poll. But that faded as it became clear that pretty much everyone got a significant amount of play this week.

Paul McDonald Tweets Apology Over Performance Outfit

He’s among the leading candidates to be sent home tonight, but American Idol finalist Paul McDonald has other concerns to consider before this evening’s results show. Following his cover of Ryan Adams’ “Come Pick Me Up” last night, the aspiring singer was faced with a number of angry Tweets from viewers who took issue with the Marine Corps Dress Blues jacket he donned on stage. Paul McDonald – Come Pick Me Up In response to this fervor, McDonald has Tweeted: “Just to let everyone know I have nothing but respect for our men and women in the armed forces. Tons of respect for you guys… I’ve been told my jacket on the show upset some folks … I wasn’t trying to offend anyone. Sorry! I’ve got nothing but love for you guys!”

Amidst a sea of J. Lo’s tears , Chris Medina was eliminated from American Idol this week. But that isn’t stopping the aspiring singer from pursuing his dreams. The former contestant, whose fiancee suffered a brain injury in a 2009 car accident, will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening and perform the single “What Are Words.” “It’s a song about making promises and fulfilling them, about telling someone you love that you’ll be there and having them be able to count on you because you said it,” Chris says. “Because the words that you say really mean something. American Idol took its show on the road last night, heading to Las Vegas for the first time and naming its first set of semifinalists. Following an hour devoted to group performances that honored The Beatles, the judges spoke to various contestants individually and delivered either dream-making or heart-breaking news. Two of the women who received the former? Haley Reinhart and Naima Adedapo. They have moved on to the season 10 semifinals, partly based on their most recent rendition of “Long and Winding Road.” Joined by Jacob Lusk , listen to Reinhart and Adedapo now and decide: are they worthy semifinalists?
