Okay, we’re cheating a bit here. Neither Miley Cyrus nor Kim Kardashian attended the 84th annual Academy Awards. But both occasional actresses did play some role in the evening, at least, joining many other celebrities in Hollywood to watch the event at Elton John’s yearly viewing party. Both Miley and Kim also posed on the red carpet at the shindig, making a Fashion Face-Off between the two an inevitability. Which look do you prefer? Miley’s glamorous dress or Kim’s all black ensemble? Vote now!
Stephen Colbert’s The Colbert Report will resume taping today after a three-day hiatus prompted by the poor health of the mother of the Comedy Central host. The political satirist canceled two shows last week without explanation to travel to Charleston, South Carolina, when he heard his 91-year-old mom, Lorna, was sick. Looks like the Super PAC is back in effect as of this evening, though. Stephen Colbert Super PAC Ad (Ft. Samuel L. Jackson) Comedy Central announced on Sunday afternoon that taping will resume on Monday, and new episodes of The Colbert Report are expected to air all week. The dedicated family man, one of 11 children, who lost his dad and two brothers in a plane crash in 1974, responded to his fans’ recent support on Twitter. “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern,” he wrote.
For a candidate with virtually no staff and who tends to talk off the cuff, Rick Santorum has been nearly gaffe-free. However, this evening might have been his first, and it comes at a time when he is trying to convince voters he is more than “just” a social conservative. The Bachelor star Ben Flajnik is blogging all about the events of this week’s episode, which saw tensions rise on the dreaded two-on-one date and beyond. Flajnik sure had a lot on his plate Monday, with a nude Courtney Robertson, a bawling Blakeley Shea and a two-timing Casey Shteamer , among other issues: Excerpts from his take on the episode below: On Kacie B. : “I sometimes worried that we would run out of things to talk about, but we were able to “survive” on an island together while keeping a smile on our faces, then learn more meaningful things about one another.” “I really appreciated Kacie opening up the way she did. It takes guts to tell someone the things you’re not proud of, and I respect her even more for turning it into a positive.” On Courtney : “Group dates have always been difficult for me, but they’ve gotten harder as time goes on and as feelings have developed. It’s not easy balancing relationships while trying to make everyone feel special.” That’s why I was drawn to [ Courtney Robertson ] during the daytime portion of the group date – she made it a point to spend time with me. I always knew how she felt and she made sure to let me know that she was thinking of me.” “I will admit though, I wasn’t pleased when she got in the pool during my time with Jamie. I know she was just trying to let me know that she’s interested, but Jamie has a tough time opening up and having Courtney there wasn’t helping.” On Blakeley : “I actually had a great time that afternoon and it wasn’t until the dinner when things got really hard. Blakeley had been an open book since day one and I experienced more growth with her than I did with almost any of the women.” “She never ceased to amaze me with her openness. I knew I had to decide whether or not I saw her as my wife. I could’ve easily dated Blakeley for another few weeks but I knew in my heart it wasn’t forever so I decided to let her go. ” On Casey S. : “Watching it now I realize I could’ve been more sympathetic to her. She was clearly involved with a guy that wasn’t appreciating her but all I could hear was that she was still in love with someone else.” “I had just sent Blakeley home, and I kept thinking, ‘How could you let yourself be here still if you’re not that into me?’ I can’t change the way I reacted but I do hope Casey S. finds a man that appreciates her like she deserves.” On Jaime’s kissing lesson : “Having Jamie walk me through one was sexy in theory, but it was so awkward in the moment! I wanted to make her feel comfortable and I know she was really working hard to put herself out there.” “Still, I felt like I was taking advantage of her in some way. I knew there wasn’t enough time left to get to a place with Jamie that we needed to so I had to let her go.” “She is one of the sweetest, most sincere women I’ve met and I hope she finds a man that is ready to go from 0 to 60 with her.”

While Marcus Canty landed in the bottom two for the third straight week, it was the 13-year-old songbird who got the lowest number of votes. By Adam Graham Rachel Crow hears the news of her elimination on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Another week, another dramatic finish to “The X Factor,” as 13-year-old Rachel Crow was voted off the Fox singing competition Thursday (December 8) when judge Nicole Scherzinger purposely threw the vote to a tie and left the final decision in the hands of America’s votes. That placed Crow against Marcus Canty, who landed in the bottom two for the third week in a row. When host Steve Jones read the final tally, Crow — who moments earlier said she’d be fine with whatever decision was made — fell to the ground as if someone had punched her in the gut, sobbing loud and hard on the “X Factor” stage. Crow was picked up off the ground by her mentor, Simon Cowell, and consoled by her mother. “Mommy!” Crow wept, while cameras cut to a shocked Scherzinger, who looked like she couldn’t believe what she’d just done. When she could finally speak, Crow told host Jones, “I just, I love you so much, everybody, for voting for me, even though you didn’t. … Thank you for giving me this, because without you, I’m nothing. And I hope this is not my ending. You know what? I know it’s not. And I will go so far, I promise you. And I love you.” She went on to thank her family for their support. Said Cowell after the decision: “I want to thank everyone that’s voted for this young girl. I believe she went out on the highest she could have gone out on. Like I said, from the very first time I met you, we’re going to be hearing a lot more about Rachel Crow, I give you my word on that.” Jones approached Scherzinger and asked if she had anything to say, and the ex-Pussycat Doll, who was heavily booed by the audience, turned away without comment. Earlier in the evening, both Crow and Canty were forced to sing for their lives in the competition. Canty took on “I’m Going Down,” while Crow tackled “I’d Rather Go Blind.” Following the performances, L.A. Reid praised Crow for her “amazing” rendition but voted for Canty to stay, while Cowell and Paula Abdul cast their votes in favor of Crow. That left the deciding vote to Scherzinger, who through tears said she couldn’t make the decision herself, so she voted for Canty to stay so the tiebreaker would lie in the hands of viewer votes. The night prior, Crow sang B.o.B and Bruno Mars’ “Nothin’ on You” and Michael Jackson’s “Music & Me,” prompting Abdul to call her “beautifully fearless,” “a wonderful role model,” “every girl’s best friend and every parent’s daydream,” “fantastic and magical” and with a “vocal depth [that] transcends all generations.” Canty, meanwhile, sang Chaka Kahn’s “Ain’t Nobody” and Leon Russell’s “A Song for You,” the latter of which was dubbed “a bit boring” by Cowell. But L.A. Reid compared Canty to Muhammad Ali, praising his ability to get up after being repeatedly knocked down. “I’ve got your back,” Reid told him, and he kept his word on Thursday. Earlier in the evening, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro and Chris Rene advanced to next week’s semifinal. When Canty learned he would have to once again sing for his life, he remarked, “Bottom two, again? Gosh, man. But, top five, man, I just gotta go out and deliver.” The episode also featured live performances by Lenny Kravitz and Mary J. Blige. What did you think of the results? Let us know in the comments!
