Tiger Woods to Host Charity Concert

Tiger Woods’ charity concert is back on the calendar. The golfer says his ” 2011 Tiger Jam ” will be April 30 at Mandalay Bay Events Center, featuring Grammy Award-winning singers Keith Urban and John Mayer. The concert, benefitting the Tiger Woods Foundation, was not held last year, after “organizers could not coordinate the schedules of artists and the venue.” Hopefully 2011 means more smiles from Tiger . There was also the small matter of the Rachel Uchitel / Jaimee Grubbs / Joslyn James / Devon James / Loredana Jolie unraveling around this time last year. Glad the event is back on in any case. “Tiger Jam” has raised more than $12 million for his foundation in the past and he is excited to continue the tradition. We have a hunch Elin Nordegren won’t be on hand.

Justin Bieber – Selena Gomez: Paparazzi Make Film Out Of The Singers’ Movie Rendezvous

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-January 29, 2011 : Justin Bieber has already bid adieu to the private fun life for some time now and it appears Selena Gomez too have to do that. Recently the alleged couple planned to go on a movie date at the Burbank movie theatre and the paparazzi was there too. In spite of going in incognito into the theatre on Thursday, when they came out watching the R-rated Natalie Portman flick No Strings Attached the photographers were there to make a film out of the young singers. While Selena looked pretty coy and shy as if she has been caught doing something wrong, so when asked about the duo’s relationship status the Disney actress preferred to maintain her silence and head for the car. On the other hand fan and photographer savvy Justin Bieber shouted out “Never Say Never” and even took time to pose with a girl fan for a pic. The 16year old heartthrob then went to the car, maintained his chivalrous attitude and opened the car door for Gomez. Earlier when Selena was asked about her relationship with Bieber, she said he is like her kid brother. But now it seems there is nothing platonic about their relationship and has been rumored to be dating since the later part of 2010. Bieber is coming out with his first film Never Say Never and recently wrapped up the commercial for the Best Buy. The campaign also has Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and will be aired at the upcoming Super Bowl. The buzz of Justin sending Selena his shirtless pics is also doing the rounds, but none of the singers are ready to admit or talk about their relationship in public. – Sampurn Wire StarBuzz Weekly -Toronto. ‘Fight For Your Right Revisited’: Inside Scoop From Sundance

We got a first look as the Beastie Boys short starring Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and more premieres with a comic take on the 1987 classic. By Eric Ditzian Danny McBride Photo: MTV News PARK CITY, Utah — The description seemed deliberately vague: “After the boys leave the party …” That was how Adam Yauch described his Sundance entry “Fight for Your Right Revisited,” a short film that tells the story of what happened to the Beastie Boys following the events of their 1987 music video of the same name. We knew Elijah Wood would play Ad-Rock, Seth Rogen would portray Mike D and Danny McBride would slip on a leather jacket to become Yauch’s MCA. But would the short be a music video? A more traditional comedic exploration? No one seemed to have a clue. Even McBride and Wood didn’t know what the heck the short was all about when we caught up with them before the Sundance premiere on Thursday night. “I’m just as curious as you are what this is going to be!” McBride laughed. Not long after we chatted with the cast, MTV News sat down to take in “Fight for Your Right Revisited,” and now we can finally answer those lingering questions ( beware of spoilers below ). The short film, which runs about 20 to 25 minutes, is part music video, part improv-heavy comedy. It begins directly after the conclusion of the ’87 video, with the Beasties crawling out of the party-mad apartment in a cloud of smoke, the original tune playing in the background. They head down the stairs and immediately run into the parents of the kids whose party they crashed. Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci play the parents. From there, Rogen, Wood and McBride head out onto the New York City streets — the film was apparently shot in three days on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles — looking to keep the party going. They bust into a bodega, steal a couple six-packs of beer and head back out. At that point, the short transforms into a music video, with the Beasties rapping into the camera and guzzling beer as they walk. “It felt super cool,” McBride told us earlier. “The moment you start rapping into a fisheye lens, you realize you’ve been training for it your whole life.” The film continues to alternate between music video rampages and dialogue-heavy comedic scenes. It’s also overflowing with a staggering number of celebrity cameos. One of the short’s biggest takeaways — beside the fact that the Beasties can still deliver top-notch tunes — is that Yauch can call up pretty much anyone and get him or her to do the favor of appearing in his film. Celebs making appearances include Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, Ted Danson, Alicia Silverstone, Will Ferrell, Rainn Wilson, Jack Black and John C. Reilly. The short takes surreal turns at times, as when the Beasties end up in a limo with two metal music fans played by Dunst and Maya Rudolph. They all drop acid, Wood gets stabbed in the belly and it turns out that Ferrell is driving the car. Such delightful weirdness peppers all of “Fight for Your Right Revisted.” “There was just an air of fun to it,” Wood explained. The short’s chief pleasure is simply that it exists, that Yauch is revisiting a song the band largely swore off back in the ’80s. Some scenes crackle with comedic verve, thanks to the talents of some of Hollywood’s most reliable improv talents. Other scenes could have benefited from a trim or two in the edit room. The music is vintage Beastie stuff; fans won’t be disappointed on that front. As the Beastie Boys themselves, Wood, McBride and Rogen don’t so much channel their real-life counterparts as simply seem to be having an utter blast. The audience at the premiere was right along with them. The short reaches a bizarre climax when the Beasties encounter a “Back to the Future”-esque DeLorean. Parked inside are older versions of the group: Black as MCA, Ferrell as Mike D and Reilly as Ad-Rock. Turns out, they’re from the future and claim to be the true Beastie Boys. The only way to settle the dispute, apparently, is with an old-school hip-hop dance-off. Their LOL-inducing dance moves lead, not entirely strangely at this point, to the six men in a contest, each one, literally, spraying their cohorts with steady streams. The short wraps up with the appearance of the actual Beastie Boys, dressed up like cops. They shove the two competing sets of Beastie Boys in a paddy wagon and drive off. A title card reads, “To be continued. Check back in 25 years.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season Finale Recap: Richards Family Meltdown!

So much happened on the season finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , it’s taken us awhile to sift through the carnage. After this nuclear war, the extent of the fallout may not fully be known for years. Or the reunion special. How did THG’s critic respond to the events of last night, which included family feuds, cat fights and relationships unraveling one after the other? Find out now … Wow. I’ve seen a lot of Housewivery battles in my day, and nothing compared to last night’s limo ride to nowhere. We knew Kim and Kyle have family issues, but didn’t realize just how deep rooted those issues actually are. I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the beginning. We open with last week’s final scene. Camille and a sprinkle of Grammer minions toasted Kelsey’s Tony nod, and the air was thick with “I don’t want to be here.” By the way, did anyone notice that the woman next to Camille bears a striking resemblance to The OC ‘s Julie Cooper-Nichol (Melinda Clarke)? It’s more of the same between Camille and Kelsey as they headed to midtown, and it was painful for everyone involved to watch Camille continue to kiss Kelsey’s ass, even though he wanted NO part of her. She said it herself during a heart-to-heart with one of her very few female friends: Kelsey did everything he could to avoid talking about and engaging in their failing marriage at the Tony Awards. Camille finally realized that she was reduced to begging the pr!ck to stay in their marriage. As nuts as she is, I felt for Camille in that moment. Crazy may have a “Jesus complex,” but she’s just as human as the rest of us (Thank God. The jury was out for a bit).

New Kids On The Block And Backstreet Boys Add 16 Tour Dates

Boy-band supergroup NKOTBSB will hit even more cities on first joint tour. By Gil Kaufman Backstreet Boys’ A.J. McLean Photo: Astrid Stawiarz/ Getty Images Absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder. And when it’s two of the biggest boy bands in modern history that you’re missing, go ahead and double that longing. That might explain why the boy-band supergroup NKOTBSB (otherwise known as New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys) have announced plans to nearly double the amount of dates on their first-ever joint tour. After initially announcing two dozen dates slated to kick off June 2 in Uncasville, Connecticut, and run through a July 9 date in Vancouver, British Columbia, the scream-feeder pairing will now stay on the road through July 30 due to what promoter Live Nation called “overwhelming” demand for tickets. The 41-date swing will now wrap up with a July 30 show at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The additional dates include shows in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Orlando, Cleveland and Atlantic City. In their biggest tune-up to date for the outing, the group rocked it in front of millions on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” eight months after they set fans’ hearts aflutter by performing onstage together for the first time at a sold-out NKOTB show at Radio City Music Hall in New York in June. Then they knocked it out of the park in November when they closed the American Music Awards with a medley that included Backstreet’s “I Want It That Way” and NKOTB’s “Hangin’ Tough.” The tour will feature appearances by all but one of the groups’ original members: Joey McIntyre, AJ McLean, Jordan Knight, Howie Dorough, Jonathan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Littrell, Danny Wood and Nick Carter (BSB’s Kevin Richardson left the group in 2006). Tickets for the new dates go on sale on January 15. NKOTBSB tour dates:

Insurance Giant Says 2010 Had Highest Number of Extreme Weather Events

Photo: alancleaver_2000 , Flickr, CC You may remember a few of the more unfortunate extreme weather events of 2010: There was the terrible heat wave that hit Russia, and lead to deaths by heat exhaustion in Moscow. Shortly after, there was tragic, unprecedented flooding in Pakistan. Those were but two weather-related events in what is apparently a record-breaking year for them. But don’t take your friendly neighborhood blogger’s word for it — and don’t trust those nefarious climate scientists, either. So, who should we turn to in order to verify such… Read the full story on TreeHugger
