Elle Fanning Does Love Magazine

I always have trouble telling the Fanning sisters apart, but I’m pretty sure  Elle Fanning is the one that gave up on acting in order to become a professional “model.” And so far, so good. Looks like she even made the cover of LOVE Magazine ‘s February issue. I don’t really get why they dressed her up as a Christmas tree or got her to pose with an inflatable alien, but whatever. This is definitely a good start. » view all 11 photos

Kara Del Toro’s Instagram Is Top Notch

In case you needed any more evidence that the modeling business is totally f&%ed up, here’s Exhibit A: fake supermodel Bella Hadid has almost 17 million Instagram followers, while actual supermodel Kara Del Toro only has like 600,000 . It just doesn’t make any sense. Anyway, on the bright side though, maybe that means I actually have a chance at landing a date with Kara. …Stop laughing. That wasn’t supposed to be a joke. » view all 12 photos

Sandra Bland Museum Exhibit Is Latest To Use Art To Honor Police Deaths Of Unarmed Black People

Original post:

A new museum exhibit honoring Sandra Bland has gone on display in Texas just in time for Black History Month. The Houston Museum of African-American Culture’s exhibit, which opened Saturday, celebrates the life of the woman who was found dead in a Texas jail cell three days after a controversial police traffic stop in 2015. SEE ALSO: Sandra Bland’s Family Settles Wrongful Death Suit For $1.9 Million The exhibit, which tells Bland’s story partly through photographs, is like a walk through time for Geneva Reed-Veal , Bland’s mother, according to KTRK-TV . “You come out of this room and have a mix of happiness and sadness at the same time,” she said. “People seeing this exhibit should say to themselves hold on, I’m going to think a little differently about the way I do things — with my interactions with everyone but more so police officers.” Sandra Bland exhibit opens at Houston Museum of African American Culture https://t.co/h4NmVhLth5 pic.twitter.com/y3zSNIKWza — TheUrbanNewz (@TheUrbanNewz) February 4, 2018 A central piece of the exhibit is a makeshift car to watch the video of the traffic stop that escalated to an arrest. “We hope this exhibition will bring our multicultural audience to a better understanding of the fear African Americans have toward encounters with the police,” John Guess , the museum’s CEO who also curated the exhibit, told Houston Style Magazine . Art is an effective medium to express the pain, anger and resolve to end police violence against innocent Black lives. Here are some other examples of how art has been used for those purposes. Miley Cyrus Gets Classy

I have no clue what the W Magazine Shooting Stars Exhibit is, but I do know that Miley Cyrus showed up to the opening of it showing an acceptable amount of skin, and that’s good enough for me. Anyway, that said, I’m not sure how I feel about this whole “classy” Miley look. I just know I like her a lot better when she wears pasties instead of pants. But I guess she saves the really good stuff for special occasions. » view all 12 photos Photos: Fameflynet Continue reading

Harry Potter: The Exhibition — We Take You Inside!

Discovery Times Square show opening Tuesday includes ‘authentic’ props, costumes and sets from all eight franchise movies. By Eric Ditzian Fans attend “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” Photo: Mike Coppola/ Getty Alas, all of you muggles out there will never have a chance to step inside Hogwarts, to suit up for a magical Quidditch match, or to sit down for a chat in Hagrid’s Hut. But can come pretty close, thanks to Harry Potter: The Exhibition. Housed at the Discovery Times Square building in New York City from April 5 through September 5, the exhibit showcases props, costumes and sets from all eight franchise movies, from 2001’s “Sorcerer’s Stone” up through the part two of “Deathly Hallows,” which hits theaters this summer. “When we first met with the filmmakers, we wanted to make sure everything was as authentic as possible,” Eddie Newquist, an exhibition creator, told MTV News. “We decided to create an experience where you felt like you were going into Hogwarts. We also wanted to create an experience where you could get very close to a lot of the special costumes and things that maybe go by very quickly in the films but really have a lot of significant meaning.” A few days before Monday’s (April 4) DVD premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1,” MTV News got a peek at what the exhibit is all about. It begins as attendees enter Hogwarts and pass through the lobby of moving portraits. From there, it’s on to the Gryffindor common room, the dormitories, the classrooms and Hagrid’s Hut, before heading out to a Quidditch pitch for a chance to toss a quaffle. Things then take a darker turn, taking folks through the dragon-filled Forbidden Forest and into a confrontation with Voldemort and the Death Eaters. At every turn, visitors will see actual props, costumes and other elements from the films — from Harry’s glasses to Godric Gryffindor’s sword to a hands-on opportunity to pull a young Mandrake from its pot. “It’s a great way to celebrate the end of this amazing, epic series,” Newquist said. “But it’s also a way to pay a bit of homage to the artistry and craftsmanship that’s gone into creating it.” Will you check out the “Harry Potter” exhibit in New York City? A Seven Ton, 26 Foot Tall Concrete Sculpture Of An Egyptian God Installed At Denver International Airport

What is with all of the giant pagan idols that are suddenly popping up all over the United States? The latest example of this is a seven ton, 26 foot tall concrete sculpture of an Egyptian god that is being installed at Denver International Airport. The giant statue being constructed at the south end of the DIA terminal is of Anubis – the Egyptian god of death and the afterlife. So why is this being done? Well, it is apparently being put there to advertise the Denver Art Museum's King Tut exhibit that is about to open up. That exhibit will go from June 29th through January 9th, 2011. The plan is for “Anubis” to remain in place at Denver International Airport the entire duration of the exhibit. added by: Revelation1217
