Ticket information and a complete list of theaters hosting the events can be found at the Fathom events website. It’s not over just yet, however. Drake Promises ‘Larger-Than-Life’ ‘SNL’ Set

Toronto MC tells MTV News he’ll perform brand-new Nicki Minaj duet ‘Make Me Proud’ on Saturday; teases a ‘special guest.’ By Rob Markman Drake Photo: MTV News Drake only burst onto the scene in 2009, but in those two years there isn’t too much that the Toronto MC hasn’t done. By tomorrow night, Drizzy can cross a “Saturday Night Live” appearance off of his list of accomplishments because, for the first time, the Young Money soldier will appear on the show as the musical guest alongside host Anna Faris. “It’s crazy places that rap music can take you and doors that can open up off of the things that we’ve worked on all these years,” Drake told MTV News after “SNL” show rehearsals on Thursday in New York. “It’s so crazy being here today with the same band that I’ve been rolling with — all guys from Toronto. This is crazy, man, this is crazy. It’s an honor for sure.” During his musical set, Drake will perform songs from his November 15 album Take Care, including his newly released “Make Me Proud,” which features Nicki Minaj. Although Drake wouldn’t confirm whether Nicki will appear with him on Saturday, he did promise a “larger-than-life” performance. “One thing that I do notice is not too many people bring atmosphere change [as ‘SNL’ musical guests], so I really pushed to change the station into something different and I think I did a great job of that,” he said. “I just hope that visually and sonically, it’s a superior performance.” While things weren’t completely finalized when we caught up with the former “Degrassi” star, he said he also hoped to be able to get some acting in: “I think that I’m gonna be involved in the actual skits.” Are you looking forward to Drake’s ‘”SNL” performance? ‘Footloose,’ ‘Ides Of March’ Lead October Movies

We’re also looking forward to ‘Three Musketeers,’ ‘In Time’ and ‘Like Crazy’ this month. By Kara Warner Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald in “Footloose” Photo: Paramount Pictures As we while away the remaining days of September, there is a lot more than Halloween candy to look forward to in the month of October. We’re talking about October movies, of course, when studios begin unveiling their heavy-hitting award contenders, as well as a few fun, fall-themed crowd-pleasers. In order of their release dates, here are a few of the films we’re most looking forward to seeing on the big screen in October: October 7 “The Ides of March” : Really, what’s not to like about this movie? You have George Clooney as director and star, alongside 2011 “it” guy Ryan Gosling in a film about corruption in politics. It’s timely, smart and in addition to featuring two handsome leading men, boasts a very talented supporting cast in Philip Seymour Hoffman, Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei. “Real Steel” : When this movie was announced, we were right there with all the naysayers, scratching our heads and wondering how a major studio would make a “robot boxing movie” worth watching. Much to our surprise, the early buzz on the film is really good, from some of the crankiest critics out there, and its selling point seems to be the father/son relationship between Hugh Jackman and newcomer Dakota Goyo. Consider us intrigued. October 14 “Footloose” : This is not a future Oscar-winner, naturally, but if you have any affection for movies with a lot of dancing and teenage angst or grew up with the Kevin Bacon-starring original, the remake of “Footloose” is a lot of fun. Lead actor Kenny Wormald has come a long way from his newbie actor days in “You Got Served” and “Center Stage: Turn It Up” to become a believable leading man. And his dancing is terrific. Serious triple-threat Julianne Hough is fun to watch as well, but pay special attention to charming scene-stealer Miles Teller as adorable country bumpkin Willard. October 21 “The Three Musketeers” : While Paul W.S. Anderson is not particularly well-known for the complexities in his storytelling, his films are always wonderfully visual and action-packed. With his retelling of Alexandre Dumas’ “The Three Musketeers,” Anderson is working with a classic story of good vs. evil, along with the added appeal of swordfights and swashbuckling. Add to that the appealing castmembers — Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans, Matthew Macfadyen and Ray Stevenson — and you have the makings of an entertaining popcorn flick. Honorable mention : “Paranormal Activity 3,” because while this writer is a total scaredy cat and too afraid of this franchise to watch it, plenty of other filmgoers are psyched for this third installment, directed by “Catfish” helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. October 28 “In Time : Even though we would prefer this date to mark the release of a new album from Justin Timberlake, the premise of the futuristic society living with a fountain of youth is enough to get us into the theater. And in addition to seeing Timberlake in action — he runs a lot in the film — a bunch of easy-on-the-eyes actors are in the cast, including Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Alex Pettyfer and Matt Bomer. “Like Crazy” : For those who love a weepy romance, “Like Crazy” has you covered. This year’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner is about college sweethearts who are torn apart by deportation and features two buzz worthy performances by Anton Yelchin and newcomer Felicity Jones . Director Drake Doremus has promised a genuine, authentic love story that has the hopeless romantics among us ready to stuff our pockets with extra tissues for opening day. Honorable mention : “The Rum Diary,” because it stars a relatively normal-looking Johnny Depp and Aaron Eckhart and is based on Hunter S. Thompson’s “lost” novel written in the early ’60s but not published until 1998. Which October movies are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments! Lil Wayne: Right-Wingers Are ‘Never’ Going To Like Black People

Weezy talks racial politics in new issue of Vibe magazine. By James Montgomery Lil Wayne Photo: FilmMagic Though it would be pretty amazing to see Lil Wayne throw on a tri-cornered hat and breeches to complain about tyranny, it seems he’s not exactly feeling the Tea Party. Or the Grand Old Party, for that matter. This according to a new interview in the October/November issue of Vibe magazine, where Weezy rips the nation’s right wingers for their political views (though, to be fair, he does seem to share their opinion on taxes ), and said that they’re not concerned with — or interested in — working with African-Americans. “You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it,” he said. “I feel like as a people, the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. Then look at yourself and ask, ‘Am I the person they’re talking about or am I not?’ You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us.” In the interview, Wayne also touches on the far-right’s treatment of President Obama, saying that, while he understands some of their criticisms on Obama’s handling of the economy, he feels that most of their attacks have more to do with his racial background than his policies. “I don’t think I have to say that for everybody to know that,” he said. And while he may be frustrated with the current fractious state of politics, Wayne can take solace in the fact that, at least there seems to a national consensus on his Tha Carter IV album, which sits atop the Billboard albums chart for the second week in a row. Lil Wayne And Drake To Drop Joint Album

‘That’s definitely going to get done,’ Cash Money honcho Birdman confirms to XXLmag.com. By Rob Markman Drake and Lil Wayne Photo: Julia Beverly Move over Jay-Z and Kanye West , here come Lil Wayne and Drake . While Hov and Yeezy have pretty much dominated the hip-hop conversation this week with the release of their collaborative Watch the Throne, Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams took it up a notch when he confirmed on Friday (August 12) that Weezy and Drizzy Drake will also be joining forces on an upcoming project. “Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album],” Baby told XXLmag.com . “That’s definitely going to get done.” Birdman is himself no stranger to joint LPs: In 2006, the #1 Stunna shared billing with Wayne on their Like Father, Like Son album. Now, in 2011, the tag-team trend appears to be gaining even more traction. Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ got together as Bad Meets Evil on their Hell: The Sequel EP in June. Of course, there’s Jay and ‘Ye’s Throne, which dropped this week, as did Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame’s Ferrari Boyz LP . Back in January, during a radio interview with the U.K.’s Tim Westwood, Drake spoke on his plans to work with Wayne on a joint project. “We still got to do that album,” he said. “I heard some other guys are coming out with an album too. There’s two other rappers that are coming out with an album together. … I don’t know where they got that idea but …” Hear why Royce Da 5’9″ thinks tag-team albums are good for the game. Baby drew a clear distinction, however, between the Throne’s sound and the sound that Drake and Weezy will be coming with. “It’s older versus younger,” he said. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch the Throne ], and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.” Baby did acknowledge the mark that Jay and Kanye have made on the music industry with their WTT release. “But what they’re doing is great. I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole,” he continued. “I just think when Wayne and Drake get together, [it’s] going to be something real special also because we more youthful.” With songs like “Successful,” “Miss Me” and “Right Above It” already under their belts, there is no doubt that Wayne and Drake have developed a chemistry, but as for when the duo would actually drop the project, Birdman couldn’t say. Wayne’s Tha Carter IV is due on August 29 and Drake’s sophomore work, Take Care, drops just two months later on October 24, so it may be some time. Soundgarden Triumph At Red Rocks Reunion Show

After reuniting last year, the grunge gods prove they can still shred. By Mary J. DiMeglio Chris Cornell (file) Photo: Bill McCay/ Getty Images MORRISON, Colorado — An ecstatic-looking Chris Cornell gazed over the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Monday night and declared, “We’re Soundgarden , and we’re back.” Setting off the night with “Searching with My Good Eye Closed” from 1991’s Badmotorfinger and the Grammy-winning “Spoonman,” one of their first big hits, the recently reunited grunge gods quickly cleared any doubts about whether they still had it, even after 14 years apart. “We’re doing this because of you,” Cornell professed. After the frontman encouraged the crowd to “smoke it all so you don’t get busted on the way home,” the band unleashed “Jesus Christ Pose,” with Matt Cameron’s pummeling of the drums reminding everyone that while he’s served as drummer for Pearl Jam since Soundgarden’s 1997 breakup, it was his work with tonight’s headliner that made him sought after. The band then allowed the audience to take a breath, slowing down the already-sleepy “Blow Up the Outside World.” The song’s fade out had the sold-out crowd of 9,400 chanting in unison. Cornell reveled at the venue his reformed group had taken on. “We played here before, and maybe a little bit was lost on us,” he said. “It’s f—ing amazing.” Between songs, he coaxed attendees to shriek just for the hell of it, giving props to the amphitheater’s legendary acoustics. “This big rock over here and this one over there,” he said, referencing the two giant stones that flank the seating area, “it acts like a speaker, funnels down to my head. It’s trippy.” The Seattle foursome revisited their breakthrough album, Superunknown, for three in row, following “The Day I Tried to Live” with “My Wave” and “Fell on Black Days.” They went all the way back to their Screaming Life/Fopp EP for “Nothing to Say” and shredded eardrums with “Rusty Cage.” For “Outshined,” Cornell dropped his guitar in favor of a microphone stand as his temporary weapon of choice, alternately waving it and pounding it into the stage. As seasoned bands often do, Soundgarden changed up some of their biggest hits when most fans probably would have preferred the radio version. And while Cornell shied away from some of the notes on the choruses of “Black Hole Sun” and “Pretty Noose,” it seems he was saving his pipes for the set-ending fan favorite “Slaves & Bulldozers.” Having admirably conquered the night’s 20-plus selections, Cornell explored the heights of his iconic wail without hesitation. The band — which released its first-ever live album, Live on the I-5, earlier this year — is currently crafting its first studio LP since 1996. Though nothing new was debuted during Monday night’s hit parade, fans can be hopeful that they channel the passion they displayed for their old material. Rebecca Black Drops ‘My Moment’ Music Video

Clip shows ‘Friday’ singer making TV appearances, walking red carpets. By Jocelyn Vena Rebecca Black in her “My Moment” music video Photo: RB Friday, Inc Have you heard that this is Rebecca Black’s moment ? Well, in case you haven’t, she’s happily declaring it in her video for her latest single, “My Moment.” The song is all about empowerment and addressing all those haters who didn’t necessarily get her last viral smash, “Friday.” The video opens with the teen singer in a recording studio putting the final touches on the cutesy song, which opens with the lyrics, “Were you the one who said that I would be nothing?/ Well, I’m about to prove you wrong/ I’m not the only one who believes in something/ My one wish is about to come true.” Scenes of her in the studio are intercut with a montage of her making TV appearances, strutting down red carpets, driving around Hollywood and greeting fans. The feel-good theme of the track continues on the chorus, with Black declaring, “This is my moment, my moment/ It’s my time, flying high, lime, mine/ Feels like my moment, my moment, I’ve waited for so long/ But now everybody knows this is my moment, my moment.” Next, Rebecca takes her fans to the makeup chair, where she’s getting all gussied up, and to dance rehearsals, which eventually become a full-on dance break as she hits the floor with “So You Think You Can Dance” finalists Robert Roldan and Kent Boyd. Then she’s in a limo in a big red dress, her name on the marquee; this time the red carpet is all hers. The song was written by Brandon “Blue” Hamilton (Justin Bieber) and Quinton Tolbert, and the production credits include Charlton Pettus. Black is also finishing up her five-track EP, which will be released in August. Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Rebecca Black

Lil Wayne Says He’d Retire To Be A Better Dad

‘I’m not gonna Brett Favre y’all,’ Lil Wayne tells MTV News about his retirement from rap. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Too $hort tried calling it quits but is now working on his 19th album. Jay-Z’s 2003 retirement lasted about three years before he returned to rap in 2006. And now Lil Wayne is talking about hanging up the mic. Will he actually do it? During a radio interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez in March, the 28-year old said he’s walking away at 35. Then Weezy switched up, telling XXL that he would be “gone by 31.” Now, Lil Tunechi, dropped his Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape on Wednesday, tells MTV News that he isn’t sure when exactly he will walk away from rap. “I’m not sure; I’m not gonna Brett Favre y’all,” Wayne said referring to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who finally handed the NFL his walking papers in January after years of talking about it. “I’m not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: ‘We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?’ But the honest answer is I don’t know.” Wayne — who has already recorded eight solo albums, sold more than 10 million records and won four Grammy Awards — said he wants to focus less on making hits and more on his kids. His oldest daughter, Reginae, is a budding performer herself at age 12, and Weezy wants his little girl to eventually stunt like her daddy. “I’m so settled in my life right now,” he told us. “I have my kids; they’re wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career. … I want to become a better father, I want to become a better man to my woman, and those things take time. and time takes away from this. So the honest answer to that [retirement] question is, I don’t know. Maybe so.” Weezy’s ninth solo album, Tha Carter IV is one of the year’s most-anticipated LPs and is set to be released on August 29. Will it be his last? Fans have to wait and see. ‘X Factor’ Vs. 2011 Baseball Season: Simon Cowell Weighs In

‘If the show’s popular, people will hopefully know when the schedule changes and they’ll still watch it,’ ‘X Factor’ creator says. By Jocelyn Vena The “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell Photo: Ray Mickshaw/ FOX On Tuesday night during the MLB All-Star Game , viewers got a sneak peek of the upcoming season of “X Factor.” In it, fans were reacquainted with Simon Cowell — both the good and the bad — and Paula Abdul and got to meet new judges Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid. This marks the first time, but not the last time, that “X Factor” and baseball will cross paths. When MTV News spoke to show creator Simon Cowell earlier this year, he weighed in on how Fox and the show were planning on scheduling the reality competition during the tail end of baseball season, which may affect “X Factor” airings. “Well, Fox shows baseball, so I mean it’s not 100 percent ideal and it does affect a couple of weeks, but we’ve got some ideas, which we’re talking to the network about, which are slightly different to what other shows have done,” Cowell explained. The show kicks off on September 21 and the 2011 baseball season still has a long way to go, but Cowell insists fans won’t have a hard time balancing the two. “So it might work in our favor, and my gut feeling is if the show’s popular, people will hopefully know when the schedule changes and they’ll still watch it,” he added. While the show isn’t that different from his former gig at “American Idol,” Cowell said that he’s excited to try out something new. “When you do something new, it’s definitely more fun, otherwise you get into a routine and it’s like that movie ‘Groundhog Day,’ ” he said. “And this reminds me of when we were launching ‘Idol’ 10 years ago. I didn’t know what was going to happen or if anyone was going to watch it and it was exciting. “And this is sort of the same because nobody knows what this show is really going to look like. And if it’s anything like I hope it’s going to be, it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said.
