Florida Teen Expelled And Arrested For Gay Relationship Via Think Progressive : A Florida family says their 18-year-old daughter was charged with a felony and expelled from high school as a result of a consensual, same-sex relationshi p with another student. Kaitlyn Hunt started dating a female classmate at the beginning of the school year when she was 17 and the girl she was about three years younger. According to an account posted to Facebook by Kaitlyn’s mother, in February, shortly after Kaitlyn turned 18, she was arrested on felony charges at the behest of her girlfriend’s parents. The specific crime was “sexual battery on a person 12-16 years old.” Kaitlyn’s mother believes the charges were motivated by anti-gay animus: They were out to destroy my daughter, they feel like my daughter “made” their daughter gay. They are bigoted, religious zeolites [sic] that see being gay as a sin and wrong, and they blame my daughter. But Kaitlyn’s problems did not end there. Her girlfriends’s parents appealed to the school board and had her expelled from Sebastian River High School. Kaitlyn’s mom reports that the State Attorney, Brian Workman, has offered Kaitlyn a plea deal of “of two years house arrest and one year probation.” Kaitlyn has until next Friday to accept the plea deal or face a trial. The family has started a petition calling on the state attorney to drop the charges against Kaitlyn. They do realize that this is unlikely to stop their daughter from having gay relationships, right? Damn… Kansas City Teen Dies In Texting While Driving Crash On First Solo Drive Via DailyMail A 16-year-old girl was killed during her first drive alone when she veered in front of an oncoming tractor trailer while she sent a text. State troopers say Savannah Nash of Harrisonville, Missouri, was killed instantly when her PT Cruiser collided with an oncoming semi just two blocks from her home on Thursday. The crash was in fact so close to home that one of her neighbors reported hearing the horrific impact as both vehicles collided. Her parents told police that Savannah had gone out to get items for their family dinner that night. She had only received her driver’s license less than a week ago and was for the first time allowed by her parents to go out on the road alone. ‘There was a text message that was on her phone, however it was not sent yet,’ Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol told Fox4KC. ‘That is a probable contributing circumstance to the crash. That’s all part of the investigation.’ At 4.10pm State troopers say the teen pulled out onto Missouri Highway 7 but failed to yield to the oncoming truck traveling at high speeds. An aerial view of the scene shows her vehicle slammed from the driver’s side across the median before coming to rest on the edge of the highway’s opposing lanes. Savannah’s classmates posted sad condolences on Facebook: ‘We will miss your beautiful smile, your laugh and your amazing attitude. You were always nice to me and brightened my day,’ a fellow classmate posted on a Facebook page created to remember Savannah. ‘All my love toward you and your family. See you someday.’ R.I.P. Kai the Hitchhiker, the oddball who gained online fame this year following a random act of heroism and a tremendous local TV interview, is wanted for murder. Union County law enforcement has issued a warrant for him for the murder of Joseph Galfy, Jr., in Clark, N.J., the Union County Prosecutor’s Office says. Galfy was reportedly found dead inside his home on May 13. Kai the Hitchhiker Interview The cause of death has been declared as blunt force trauma. Police say Kai (Caleb Lawrence McGillvary) is considered armed and dangerous. Kai is said to have cut his hair to conceal his identity , and was last seen at a rail station near Haddonfield, N.J. He is officially a murder suspect. Back in February, McGillvary, a.k.a. Kai, was passing through Fresno, Calif., when he stumbled into an alarming situation – and quasi-celeb status. Kai saw a man attack a utility worker with a car and assault a woman at a gas station, after which he hit the man with a hatchet to stop the attack. His interview shortly thereafter (above) was a viral sensation. Basically, he was Charles Ramsey before Charles Ramsey, but Antoine Dodson was Kai before Kai was Kai. Okay, that made absolutely no sense. Anyway, Kai videos have been viewed millions of times, making the apparent dark turn in McGillvary’s once-great story all the more shocking. The Facebook page of an Arizona bakery became a national story after the owners of Amy’s Baking Company were featured on Gordon Ramsay’s FOX show. But the insane-seeming duo now says they had nothing to do with the EPIC rants that followed their Kitchen Nightmares appearance, which was ridiculed online. Instead, they’re playing the “hacking” card . The couple’s behavior on the show was beyond bad – it was even too much for Ramsay, who walked out before renovations in the May 10 episode. The Scottsdale, Ariz., establishment was accused of stealing tips from employees, selling desserts from elsewhere and being rude to customers. After the show, outraged viewers flooded the restaurant’s social media outlets, including Yelp, to call them “horrible,” “rude” and their behavior “criminal.” As the angry commenters bashed them online, the incredulous owners responded to the “witch hunt” by calling them “stupid” and asking them to “piss off.” The posts were later removed, however, and the couple, Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, now claim that a hacker is to blame for their alleged responses: “Obviously our Facebook, YELP, Twitter and Website have been hacked,” the duo said in response to the controversy on Wednesday … OBVIOUSLY. “We are working with the local authorities as well as the FBI computer crimes unit to ensure this does not happen again. Franklin, 71, was scheduled to perform this Monday May 20th at Members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the 24th annual Corporate Night and from a gig at Foxwoods Resorts and Casino. Conservative Says Feminism Is At War With Mother Nature According To Raw Story Calling her a “typical feminist,” conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly devoted a radio address to deriding Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and her book, Lean In, saying it illustrated what Schlafly called problems with feminism. “Too many women come to their senses only after age 40 and then find it’s too late to have a husband or children,” Schlafly said. “Feminism is at war with Mother Nature, and Mother Nature is still winning.” Schlafly said the smarter thing to do for women was to ignore the advice of “feminists and women’s studies courses” and decide on how to compromise between starting a family and pursuing a career, instead of putting professional goals first. “She thinks women “sabotage” themselves by not pursuing career opportunities as aggressively as men do,” Schlafly said of Sandberg. “However, Sandberg’s feminist arguments and conclusions are at odds with what most women really want out of life.” Sandberg’s observation in Lean In that not enough women were in high-level positions, Schlafly said, was a “typical feminist complaint.” Listen to Schlafly’s criticism of Sandberg , in audio posted Monday by Right Wing Watch.
