Social networks are built on the language of “likes” and positivity. Until now, thanks to the Hater App developed by Jake Banks. He decided to develop an alternative app – intended for sharing the things you don’t like – because he feels Facebook et al. restrict us from being ourselves. “It’s really an answer to everything out there. All you can do is ‘like’ things,” Banks told Mashable . “I don’t want to be the guy pretending to be someone I’m not.” “I want to be real and say, ‘I’m sitting in traffic and I hate this.'” While you can post a comment like that anywhere, Banks says a “dedicated community” for dislikes frees up users to re-think the content they share. The Hater app, which launched on the iPhone Friday just in time for SXSW, and will be available on Android within months, looks a lot like Instagram. You can take a picture or upload a photo from your phone, share it with a caption, and view/respond to other posts from the Hater community. Of course, the goal of Hater is very different than Instagram. With Hater, for example, you might take a picture of yourself stuck in a traffic jam – or of a couple of d-bags – to show how much you dislike it/them. Hater’s app also gives users the option to pull an image of something they hate from other sites and to post to the service using an alter ego. “It’s a little more self-deprecating and a little more fun,” Banks says. “You’re sitting at work, working a 12-hour shift and you go on Facebook and you see your friend from high school is on his third vacation of the month.” “He’s taking pictures of his food and all that. Dear Bossip , Hello I’m dating a 44-year old man. Mind you I am only 20-years old. He is always talking about how he wants another child by next year. He’s also always talking about how he wants to get a house together, and what bills we would split or what bills I would pay and how we could afford a house with both of our incomes, and how we can get into car payments. Every time I talk about settling down he says it’s too soon and he wants to get a house first. I told him that I want to settle down then have another child within 3 years and get married, and then go back to school. I let him know I was not trying to rush anything but I’m not going to waste my time playing games and if he does not see me as someone serious to let me know so we can go our own ways. He is very good with my daughter even though she is not his. He’s also met my mom. I haven’t met anyone in his family. I told him I had an issue with a girl who he does not share kids with but at some point wanted to settle down with her. And she is calling, texting, and even Facebooking him. They live in different states but I don’t like the fact that she contacts him. He says I have nothing to worry about and that they are just friends. But, I’m not sure. He hasn’t told her that he and I are dating. He hasn’t even told his kids. I haven’t met his boss or any co-workers, or friends. I ask why he says he likes to keep his personal life private. How do I know if he wants to be with me or settle down with me? The other day he told me that I made his phone bill go higher than usual. He said I need to stop calling and texting so much. Now, that fact that you’ve pointed all of this out, then what does that tell you? Come on, Lil Keisha, you can figure it out. A man who is this private, and keeping you a secret, well, you’re not even a secret. You don’t even exist. No one knows you are a part of his life. Now, put the clues together, and what do you get? The man accused of infecting hundreds of men and women in the NYC area with HIV , is the victim of a cruel internet joke! Reports of Man Spreading HIV Are A Malicious Internet Hoax Via NewsOne reprots: The news report from an NBC affiliate in New York circulated the web via blogs claiming that police were searching for a man named Isaac Don Burks for intentionally spreading HIV in the NY Tri-State area. Over the weekend the story spread like wildfire via blogs, Facebook, Twitter, even Michael Baisden and Steve Harvey shared the “story”. On Monday, the original source was called into question when the link being shared redirected to an Augusta news site. The original source came from a fake site made to look like the NBC New York 4 website. The slight difference was in the domain. The real NBC affiliate’s domain is http://www.nbcnewyork.com the fake site used http://www.nbcnewyork4.com . The original story url still shows up in Google search as http://nbcnewyork4.com/news/local/fugitive-wanted-for-intentionally-spre… yet you no longer go to the original report. Instead, when you click on the link you are directed to an Augusta story about the same man, but for a different incident in 2010 involving identity fraud and forgery. Because more versions of the hoax continue to be spread online, The Examiner contacted the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Veronica Lewin, Assistant Press Secretary for NYC’s Health Department answered the inquiry and assured the public that the allegations levied against Don Burks are, indeed, false. Even though this story has been proved to be false, many will still share the false report. Let’s hope damage done by this malicious false report won’t have a lasting effect on the life of Mr. Burks. This is hardly a story…..but I liked watching the video of some girl in the UK who was threatening and hitting dudes on the train…. The video may be going viral….with tens of thousands of likes on Facebook…..but apparently it was uploaded two years ago…at least that’s what you’d think based on how she’s dress….and the unfortunate thing is that I prefer my woman losing their shit in a far more naked way….You know stripping down, smearing period blood on her face like she’s some kind of warrior and going shoving her tits in random people’s faces while inserting their umbrellas inside her… The angry UK trash version…up on some Jersey Shore shit…but far more nobel in her accent…even if she sounds like she’s from the gutter….is kinda just annoying….but I’ll post it anyway…
Dan Toler, a guitarist best known for his run with the Allman Brothers Band in the 1970s and 1980s, has passed away. He was 65 years old. The musician died Monday due to complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. He had been suffering from the illness for two years. Toler joined the famous group in 1979 and played with it on three albums. By the end of his life, however, the artist was unable to speak or play his beloved instrument. “It is with great regret and sadness that our dear friend and loved one, Dan Toler, passed away peacefully in his sleep last night,” read a post on his Facebook yesterday. “Future service to be announced. Please keep Debbie and the family in your prayers. We would also ask at this time that you would respect the family’s privacy. The Toler family thanks you for all your love and support.”
