Despite all of that, and one turbulent dinner date that ended in epic fashion, he and Selena appear to be back together and on good terms a month later. The pregnant Kate Middleton is “feeling better” after spending her second day hospitalized by severe morning sickness, but remains there at this time. Prince William, who reportedly spent hours with her yesterday, is “immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received,” a spokesman added. Her parents, Michael and Carole, are reportedly “elated” about William getting Kate Middleton pregnant , but understandably worried about her condition. Carole Middleton and Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, also visited the queasy Duchess Tuesday. The Middletons found out Kate was expecting over the weekend when she began vomiting violently and a worried William drove her home to London. Queen Elizabeth II found out later Monday after William and Kate raced to the hospital, where the stricken princess was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, or HG. The malady impacts one in 50 expectant moms and can make pregnancy torture, but is not harmful to the baby; some speculate Kate may be expecting twins . Citing royal sources, the Daily Mail reported the Duchess is holding her own “but her symptoms of severe vomiting may last for much of her pregnancy.” Kate, who is 30 and believed to be about 12 weeks pregnant, is expected to remain in the hospital for several more days followed by a “period of rest” at home. She is reportedly on an IV drip to combat her dehydration and taking pills to stop the nausea. As Teen Mom 2 fans know, the subtitled West Virginia wonder and Messer have twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah. He’s been dating Patterson for much of this year. Simms’ dad confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: “Corey and Miranda are now engaged! Congratulations! @CoreySimms2 @mirandabridget #happytweet.” If Leah, who is also re-married to Jeremy Calvert , is upset, she’s not showing it. Her Facebook response: “She’s wonderful to my daughters, and that makes me adore & respect her. As Corey’s soon to be wife , and Ali and Aleeahs step Mom!” Wow. If that’s not a stamp of approval from the ex, we don’t know what is. Safe to say November was a relatively good month for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The social network’s stock shot up from $21.08 a share on the first day of trading to $28 a share this past Friday, reaching its highest price since July. Zuckerberg, who owns about 504 million shares of Facebook stock (give or take), saw his net worth increase $3.48 billion as a result. Not bad for 30 days’ work. Long story short, his critics can Zuck on that! Sorry. During Facebook’s botched IPO , of course, the 28-year-old Zuckerberg’s shares were worth a lot more – around $19.1 billion at the price of $38 per. In the following months, the stock plummeted to less than half that IPO price to $17.55 in late August, pushing Mark’s net worth down to $8.84 billion. Wah wah . Since then, however, Facebook stock has chipped away at some of those losses, regaining some traction and posting its best month to date in November. A strong earnings report in late October, which showed that Facebook was making progress in monetizing mobile traffic, was a major catalyst for the gains. As of Friday, Zuckerberg’s net worth was $14.1 billion and climbing. On the downside, Priscilla Chan is going to expect some REALLY nice holiday gifts now.
An Arizona school district has condemned one of its high schools for disciplining two boys for fighting … by forcing them to hold hands in front of their classmates as punishment. Earlier this week, the two students at Westwood High School in Mesa, Ariz., who have not been named, were faced with two options after getting into a fight: Suspension from school Sitting in chairs in the courtyard and holding hands for 15 minutes during lunch They opted for the latter, and were ridiculed by their peers. “Kids were laughing at them and calling them names, asking, ‘Are you gay?’” student Brittney Smyers told ABC affiliate KNXV, while photos began to circulate online. On one Facebook posting, users commented that the public punishment was not appropriate, as it positions the teens as targets for taunting and name-calling. Others said the punishment was anti-gay, as it implies two males holding hands is embarrassing. Helen Hollands, director of communication and marketing for Mesa Public Schools, said the school’s principal, Tim Richard, who is in his first year at Westwood, had the idea. “He’s done some great things there,” Hollands said. “He’s focused highly on maintaining a standard where [ideally] no students are failing a class.” Once the school district got wind of Richard’s unique punishment, however, it issued a statement saying that it doesn’t condone what the school did: “Mesa Public Schools is dedicated to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.” “The district has guidelines for appropriate student discipline and our site administrators have the authority to impose consequences within our policies and regulations.” “The district does not condone the choice of in-school discipline given these students, regardless of their acceptance or willingness to participate.” “District leadership will address this matter with the school principal and review district protocol regarding student discipline with all administrators.” Hollands said that the district is well aware that many perceived the discipline as bullying and biased. “The district is looking at how the actions have been perceived,” she said of the now infamous and viral incident. “That’s a very important piece to know.” Disciplining kids with hand-holding: Right or wrong?
