Getty Jill Scott & Mike Dobson Splitting Following 15 Months Of Marriage Singer Jill Scott’s estranged ex snagged a victory in divorce court Thursday. A judge granted Mike Dobson’s request for a restraining order against Scott that bars her from trash talking him to her friends, the press and on social media. Dobson filed a motion for a restraining order against the “Golden” singer last month after accusing her of airing their dirty laundry on social media and outright lying to family members and others about his sexual orientation and being a a con artist. Dobson said in court papers that Scott had been posting subliminal messages on Facebook related to their split, including sharing and liking a video about having one life to live, and another video with the words “Now here’s a man who understands women.” The judge apparently sided with the City of Atlanta employee, and granted the order, according to public records. Scott already has her own restraining order against Dobson in place – meaning both are now under a court order not to harass each other. Scott filed for divorce last September, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.” Dobson countersued Scott earlier this month, accusing her of bullying him throughout their marriage and coercing him into signing a bad prenup agreement. Dobson asked for half the marital assets, along with $500,000 for the pain and suffering he allegedly endured.
Restaurant employees work hard to earn their tips. When they don't receive the gratuity on which they depend to make ends meet, they're understandably upset. When one Outback Steakhouse employee was given $0 in tips on a $735 order for a church, she took to social media to share her dismay and disappointment. And she was fired for it. As you'll see in the video below, she says that she wouldn't change a thing. Outback Steakhouse wisely offers delivery services in some areas — in these days of Amazon Prime and soon-to-be days of delivery via drone and autonomous vehicle, your restaurant has to be exceptional if you expect for people to physically leave their homes to eat your food. However, delivery service at one Palm Beach County, Florida Outback was delayed, and so a local megachurch, Christ Fellowship, sent a volunteer to pick up the order directly from Outback. The order for 25 people came out to $735. The volunteer paid for the order and left. There was just one problem: the volunteer didn't leave a tip. Annoying on small orders. On a massive order that took a while to put together, that kind of slight can leave wait staff financially devastated for the day. One of the employees who worked on the order was Tamalyn Yoder. Speaking to the Palm Beach Post, she explained why this is a problem, even though there was no table service: “We take the order over the phone, we put the order together, take payment and then take order to the car. It’s a lot of work just as much as serving.” As a result, she says that she made only $18 in tips from other orders — as so much of her time was occupied preparing the large order. It's important to remember that, though the minimum wage is not really a living wage, many restaurant employees are paid even less. As a number of servers have done since the advent of social media, Tamalyn took to the internet to express her disappointment that such a large order would come with no tip. A large part of her intention was to raise awareness — some people may believe that tipping isn't necessary because they aren't being waited upon at a table. It's easy to forget how much goes on behind the scenes. She was also just upset, folks. As anyone would be if their work went uncompensated. Unfortunately, Outback responded by firing her, citing its policy of firing waiters who do literally exactly what she did — complaining about customers on social media. Now, Tamalyn is speaking to the media about why she felt that this was worth being fired. “When I brought it out and put it in the car and received the payment, there was no gratuity. I got upset.” She's very matter-of-fact about events. “I posted a post on Facebook about the church not leaving a gratuity tip.” She reminds everyone of the importance of tipping. “We live off of tips. If we don’t have that then we have nothing.” A lot of people aren't sure how to tip when it's not in a restaurant. In a restaurant, 20% makes sense as a bare minimum, sure, but if you're picking up, she recommends: “Coming in to eat or takeout, you should automatically be wanting to tip 15%. From there you either go up or you go down, based on service.” She doesn't quite agree with Outback's policy. “I feel that we should be allowed to say something especially to big parties that don’t leave anything…they pay the exact amount.” Some places put an automatic gratuity on large orders; perhaps Outback should implement that. They may even learn from this example. Tamalyn says that what has transpired was worth it. “I probably would still do it the same way. I wouldn’t change anything.” She is currently searching for a new job. But she mentions that she doesn't harbor any ill will towards Christ Fellowship. “The church did reach out to me, they are trying to rectify the whole thing. And I thank them.” Christ Fellowship has clarified that the volunteer was unaware that the church always tips, as it was a last-minute arrangement.
Way back in 2015, Teen Mom stars Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert got divorced . Fortunately, it seems that in the years since, they’ve been able to work out an amicable arrangement that works for both of them. By which we mean, not only are they co-parents, they’ve also been friends with benefits for quite some time. Or at least that’s what Leah allegedly said during her recent appearance on co-star Kailyn Lowry’s podcast. The episode hasn’t been released to the public yet, but a source who was on hand for the taping has already spilled some details about Leah’s comments regarding her ex: “She revealed she and Jeremy have been hooking up, and that it is not going to stop anytime soon,” the insider tells Radar Online. When Kailyn expressed concern, Leah reportedly put her mind at ease: “She says that they are just having fun and she’s got it all under control,” says the insider. Rumors of Leah and Jeremy getting back together have been circulating for months, but this is the first time that either of them has publicly admitted to being more than friends. Of course, from the sound of Leah’s comments, it doesn’t seem that she and Jeremy will be embarking on a relationship anytime soon. They seem to be sticking with a “no strings attached” arrangement, which is fine as both of them are single these days. In fact, as far as we know, Leah hasn’t been in a serious relationship in quite some time. Jeremy, on the other hand, broke up with Brooke Wehr for the 47th time back in September and has been quite busy in the months since. In November, he announced that he had broken up with a girlfriend that we weren’t even aware o f! (Pro tip: If you never went public with your relationship, you don’t have to publicly announce your breakup.) So Leah and Jeremy are both free to mingle as they see fit. Of course, Leah seems to get attached easily, and when there’s a kid involved, there’s always the potential that things could get very messy. But hey, we guess Leah wouldn’t be entering her second decade as a reality star if she weren’t a magnet for drama. Watch Teen Mom 2 online for more from Ms. Messer’s messy existence. Rob Delaney is a well-known comedian, most recently recognized for his role as co-creator, writer, and actor on Catastrophe . He’s also known for his humorous political observations on Twitter. Now, however, Delaney is taking to social media to share grim news of a very personal nature. His very young son, Henry, has passed away at two-and-a-half years old. Heartbreaking. On Friday, February 9th, Rob Delaney took to Facebook to share a post that must have been astonishingly difficult to write: “I have very sad news. My two and a half year year old son Henry has passed away.” Devastating news. “Henry had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, shortly after his first birthday, following persistent vomiting and weight loss.” Horrible at any age. Unspeakable when it’s happening to a baby . “He had surgery to remove the tumor and further treatment through the early part of 2017.” Unfortunately, that did not fully resolve the problem. “Then the cancer returned last autumn and he died in January.” “My wife and Henry’s older brothers and I are devastated of course.” Of course. “Henry was a joy. He was smart, funny, and mischievous and we had so many wonderful adventures together, particularly after he’d moved home following fifteen months living in hospitals.” Henry had just started his life anew, it seems. “His tumor and surgery left him with significant physical disabilities, but he quickly learned sign language and developed his own method of getting from A to B shuffling on his beautiful little bum.” Children can be amazingly resourceful in the face of overwhelming obstacles. “His drive to live and to love and to connect was profound.” “I am astonished by the love-in-action displayed by Henry’s mom and his brothers.” And he credits them with giving him purpose as he goes on. “They are why I will endeavor to not go mad with grief.” This is perhaps a reference to Rob Delaney’s struggle as an alcoholic. He has been sober for 16 years this month. “I don’t want to miss out on their beautiful lives. I’m greedy for more experiences with them.” That is such a healthy sentiment. “The NHS nurses and doctors and the home carers and charity workers who helped our family survive Henry’s illness will be my heroes until the day I die. I am desperately sad right now, but I can say with authority that there is good in this world.” Rob Delaney is American but currently lives in London. “If you’d like to help other families in the UK with very sick children, please make a donation to Rainbow Trust (https://rainbowtrust.org.uk) or Noah’s Ark (https://www.noahsarkhospice.org.uk) in Henry’s name or in the name of someone you love.” Hospice is sad enough, but hospice services for children is … bleak. Such services need all of the resources that they can get. “Our family would be in much worse shape right now if it weren’t for them. I would also urge you to take concrete and sustained action to support the NHS, however you can. Do not take it for granted.” The NHS, the UK’s single-payer healthcare system, comes under attack by politicians who — like those who oppose Obamacare in the US — seek to dismantle universal health services. Rob Delaney ends his heartbreaking post with a plea. “Finally, I ask that you respect my family’s privacy regarding this matter. I have nothing else to say that I haven’t said here.” Of course. What could anyone ask beyond what he has shared? Why would anyone want to force him to speak about this? “Thank you, beautiful Henry, for spending as much time with us as you did. We miss you so much.” Rest in peace, Henry. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam
Source: Bettmann / Getty Ever since Quincy Jones ‘ Vulture interview set the Internet ablaze, folks have been fact checking the music legend’s surprising statements. One particular story caused major discussion when Quincy suggested actor Marlon Brando had sex with Richard Pryor. Richard’s widow, Jennifer Lee , even confirmed the statement as true. However, now Richard’s daughter — fellow comedian Rain Pryor — is stepping into the picture. In a Facebook post, she said Quincy’s statements were false. “Daddy did NOT have relations with Brando,” she said. “There were no trips to his South Pacific Oasis, no flowers or love notes between. Not even a film role.” Rain did however detail Richard’s relationship with a trans woman. “My dad was very open with his life, so much so that news of his relationship with a trans woman in the early 70s and 80s wasn’t really newsworthy nor notable,” she said. “As a child I knew her, not as the trans person in our home, but the lady whom everyone accepted. So much acceptance I did not know she was Trans until recently.” In a previous post, Rain went on to condemn Quincy Jones, calling him “once a brilliant music producer who is losing his mind, and decided to garner publicity for himself with a sensationalized interview.” You can check out both posts by Rain below as this story continues to be hotly debated.
Source: Getty / Getty After the great Quincy Jones ‘ got decades worth of ish off his chest earlier this week, folk are coming out left and right to say their peace. One comment that took everyone by surprise was by none other than Tevin Campbell , who clapped back at haters for their insensitive comments following Quincy’s Vulture interview. Now Im trending folks will really say some disgusting things. “Tevin was molested by Quincy.” GTFOH wit the devil — Tevin Campbell (@tevincampbelll) February 7, 2018 Quincy, who happens to be Tevin’s godfather, mentioned in his spiel that he feels Campbell is one of the most underrated artists he’s ever seen. Source: Getty / Getty Some folks agree with the music legend: Tevin Campbell deserved so much more. He was the Whitney Houston we deserved. — Xavier D'Leau (@XavierDLeau) February 7, 2018 And because of Quincy Jones when I wake up in the morning the energy I will be on musically is Tevin Campbell. Tell Tevin Campbell come to @breakfastclubam so we can have a Tevin Campbell Appreciation Day. — Charlamagne Tha God (@cthagod) February 8, 2018 Tevin Campbell should be allowed to drink for free at every bar in America for his contributions to the Goofy Movie soundtrack — David Gborie (@thegissilent) February 8, 2018 While others feel Tevin got his just due in the game: I don't agree with Tevin Campbell being underrated. His name is always brought up in the R&B conversation when speaking about male vocalists. Did the music industry throw him away? Sadly, yes. — ᴅᴏʟʟᴀʀ (@callmedollar) February 7, 2018 But what neither side can deny is the talent that the 41-year possesses and how he how much of an impact he’s had on the R&B game since the late 80’s. Stock image from Getty Man Sentenced To 26 Years After Stabbing Ex-GF To Death This is so sad. A man who met his girlfriend on tinder and then stabbed her more than 75 times in a frenzied car park attack has been jailed for at least 26 years for murder. Molly McLaren, the victim in the attack had just cut ties with her murdered just 2 weeks before he decided to end her life according to IVT News . Molly McLaren, 23, was attacked with a kitchen knife by Joshua Stimpson as she sat in her car outside the Dockside shopping centre in Chatham, Kent, on June 29 last year. When she ended their relationship, Stimpson reportedly stalked her and posted derogatory messages on Facebook falsely claiming she had taken cocaine, so she reported him to police. Sentencing, Judge Adele Williams told 26-year-old Stimpson that he may never be released. “This was a cruel, calculated and cowardly act,” Judge Williams said. “This was an act of wickedness. “You took away Molly’s life quite deliberately in the most vicious fashion. You were determined to punish her for ending the relationship with you. You were seeking revenge.” SMH, so why not life judge?
