Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Makes WAY More Money Than Expected, Floyd Celebrates With Orgy

From the day it was announced, the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight was expected to be the most profitable night in sports history. While the bout itself may have disappointed some fans who shelled out up to 100 bucks to watch it on pay-per-view, those in a position to profit from the 12-round hug-fest are very happy with how the night played out. View Slideshow: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: HOW Much Money Is Involved?! According to numbers released today by HBO and Showtime, the fight is officially the highest-grossing pay-per-view event of all time, with more than 4.4 million buys that brought in over $400 million in cash. That’s a million more buys than some experts predicted, and almost two million more than the previous pay-per-view record holder – the 2007 fight between Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya.  If you’re doing the math at home, that means that between #MayPac and people paying to watch Game of Thrones online , HBO now officially has all of the money.  Naturally, the fight was highly profitable for the fighters involved, although they both found themselves in some potentially expensive legal trouble in the days following the match. View Slideshow: Floyd Mayweather: The Money Man on Instagram! Pacquiao is being sued  for $5 million in a class action suit for concealing an injury that ,ay have resulted in a snooze-worthy fight. Meanwhile, Mayweather is being sued for $20 million by the mother of three of his children for allegedly lying about her in per-fight interviews. But what’s a little 8-figure settlement when you’re the champ, right? The Money Man is still living it up in the wake of his big win, as evidenced by 50 Cent’s latest Facebook post: “Champ woke my ass up 6AM this morning,” 50 said along with the above pic. “I said what you doing,he said I’m doing it BIG 5. He had a house full of bad b!tches. I said Damn you think you me champ.” Well, at least they’ve settled that weird Harry Potter-related feud . Seriously, that was a real thing.

Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson: Married!

Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson tied the not Friday in Arizona, not even a month after the WNBA players were arrested for assaulting each other. Guess they made up and then some! As about 75 guests looked on, the glowing brides were married beneath an archway at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort outside of Phoenix. The theme was “desert elegance” in the city where Griner plays center for the three-time women’s pro basketball champion Phoenix Mercury. Johnson, a forward with the Tulsa Shock, wore a full-length, strapless champagne gown which she selected on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress . The couple were engaged last August. In April, Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson made news after an argument at their home in Goodyear, Ariz. It was ugly, as it resulted in arrests of both for assault and disorderly conduct; Griner accepted a plea deal to enter domestic violence counseling . Johnson enrolled in counseling voluntarily. Charges against both were subsequently dismissed, and Griner issued a humbling statement: “It is never OK for an argument to turn physical. This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously.” “I am committed to making positive changes and I plan to use what I have learned to set a good example and help make a difference in the world.” Congratulations to the couple on their wedding and we’re glad they have put this incident behind them, rather than let it define them. Miley Cyrus Teams with Joan Jett on "Androgynous" Cover

Miley Cyrus is putting her mouth where her… well, mouth has been. Over the past several days, Miley has made many comments about a very important cause: the struggles of LGBT community members and their families. She has started an organization called the Happy Hippie Foundation to help those in this community suffering from poverty. Cyrus has even come out herself and sort of admitting to being a genderqueer , saying she didn’t “relate” as a child to the definitions of a “girl or a boy.” She also hinted that she’d be open to a lesbian relationship . Now, Cyrus has teamed up with transgender rocker Laura Jane Grace and legendary musician Joan Jett for a moving performace of “Androgynous.” The collaboration is part of Miley’s “Backyard Sessions” series, whose exclusive Facebook videos are shot to raise money for the singer’s recently-launched anti-homelessness, pro-LGBT foundation. Check out the performance here: More #backyardsessions videos coming today!! Tim McGraw to Headline Sandy Hook Benefit Concert, Gun Advocates Up in Arms

Country music superstar Tim McGraw will headline July concert to benefit Sandy Hook Promise, a group that seeks to protect children from gun violence. Surprisingly, or perhaps not, this announcement resulted in serious backlash from gun advocates calling McGraw a hypocrite and a whole lot worse. Among the critics was fellow country music star Travis Tritt, who tweeted his disdain for McGraw’s concert, and he was far from alone in that sentiment. The blog Bearing Arms, for its part, reported the story with the headline “Tim McGraw Poised to Dixie Chick Himself With Gun Control Benefit Concert.” McGraw “seems poised to make a similar, potentially career-ending move,” the blog argued, referencing the Dixie Chicks’ Iraq War controversy of 2003. Lead singer Natalie Maines unabashedly slammed President George W. Bush over that military initiative, and the group’s popularity slowly declined. Coincidence? Natural progression of a pop country girl group peaking around then anyway? Perhaps, but many have linked McGraw’s and Maines’ comments. Meanwhile, McGraw responded that he supports gun ownership, but added, “I also believe that with gun ownership comes the responsibility of education and safety.” Most certainly, the 47-year-old husband of Faith Hill said, “when it relates to what we value most, our children … I can’t imagine anyone who disagrees with that.” In his announcement, McGraw said, “Out of this tragedy a group was formed that made a promise to honor the lives lost and turn it into a moment of transformation.” “Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence. I want to be a part of that promise – as a father and as a friend.” View Slideshow: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Photos: Through the Years Unlike McGraw, Billy Currington, who would have been the opening act for the July concert, succumbed to the pressure and bowed out of the concert. Writing on his Facebook page, Currington said he would donate to a local organization, but “I’ve never been one to take on controversial issues – I’m a singer.” The Sandy Hook Promise group formed to honor the 20 children and six staff members gunned down in an elementary school in December 2012. Adam Lanza , 20 entered the Newtown, Conn., school and went on a rampage. He also killed his mother prior to the attack and committed suicide afterward. The incident is the deadliest school shooting in the U.S., yet little or no action was taken on the federal government level amid pressure from gun advocates. Gun control: Should regulations and laws be strengthened? YES. Fewer guns, fewer tragedies! NO. It’s unconstitutional and won’t stop anything! View Poll »
