Mother Arrested For Beating Son And Posting Footage on Facebook via Daily Mail The Michigan grandmother and mother of an 11-year-old boy have been charged with child abuse after a video was posted on Facebook showing the child being slapped in the face and beaten more than 50 times with a belt. Demitria Latrion Powell, 28, the boy’s mother and Uteas Michelle Taylor, 42, the boy’s grandmother, both of Flint, were charged today third-degree child abuse. Stefon Tirrell Felton, 39, also of Flint, who filmed the video, was also charged with child abuse. He says in the video he was locked up for 10 years. The six-minute video, which also shows the boy getting hit in the face by his mother, was shared more than 1,000 times before it was removed from the social media site. In the video, the boy is asked to his name. When he doesn’t say it loud enough, Powell violently slaps him in the face, and then says, ‘Say it like you got sense.’ She then adds, ‘Now it’s going on Facebook so keep it in mind. The boy is warned not to get involved in gang activity. NBC25 also reported that the boy was being punished for putting false statements on his own Facebook page. His mother then says, ‘Now grandma is going to get in there. i’m out of it.’ After a few more second, shje adds, ‘Call [Child Protective Services] if you want to. Watch this ass whipping this gangster is going to get.’ In the background, Taylor can be heard saying ‘I’ve been waiting all day for this.’ She then proceeeds to repeatedly hits the boy with a belt. At one point, she hits him so hard in the back of his legs, his legs start to buckle and he winces in pain.

Alabama Man Pours Hot Grease On Sleeping Girlfriend According to Tuscaloosa News reports : A Tuscaloosa man angry about his ending relationship poured hot grease on his girlfriend as she slept early Sunday morning, investigators said. The woman, 39, suffered serious injuries and is being treated in the burn unit at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, said Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit assistant commander Lt. Kip Hart. She is expected to survive. Homicide investigators were called to a home in the 2900 block of Ozment Drive at 4 a.m. Sunday. Suspect Anthony Dwayne McGraw, 40, had poured grease on the woman’s face and arms as she slept, Hart said. “He was cooking a meal and she was asleep on the couch when he came across some information that made him upset enough to do this,” Hart said. “Based on what we know, we don’t think it was premeditated.” McGraw had left the house by the time police arrived. Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force found him hiding in an abandoned house near Kaulton Park at 7 p.m. Monday. Charged with first-degree assault, he remained at the Tuscaloosa County Jail Tuesday with bond set at $60,000 for that charge. A judge revoked his probation on a 2009 felony marijuana possession charge and a 2006 drug distribution charge. He is being held with no bond set in those cases. McGraw and the victim’s problems date back to at least August, when the woman claimed McGraw had threatened her, according to a request for a restraining order she filed. That order was dismissed a month later. McGraw and the woman had lived together for several years and are the parents of a teenager, she wrote in the petition. According to the authorities, the victim may be permanently disfigured and will likely need plastic surgery. SMH @ there being a restraining order filed and then dismissed. Tuscaloosa County Jail

The restaurant that was at the center of Paula Deen discrimination allegations has been closed for good. Uncle Bubba’s Seafood And Oyster House Co-Owned By Paula Deen And Brother Permanently Closed The messed up part about it is that employees of the restaurant learned of its closing the same way as the rest of the world — via a Facebook status message posted earlier Thursday. As you would probably expect, the employees were none too pleased about this. Read a few reactions below: News 3 Savannah published the following statement released via the restaurant’s marketing and public relations company: “Since its opening in 2004, Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House has been a destination for residents and tourists in Savannah, offering the region’s freshest seafood and oysters. However, the restaurant’s owner and operator, Bubba Hiers, has made the decision to close the restaurant in order to explore development options for the waterfront property on which the restaurant is located. At this point, no specific plans have been announced and a range of uses are under consideration in order realize the highest and best use for the property. The closing is effective today, Thursday, April 3, 2014. Employees will be provided with severance based on position and tenure with the restaurant. For the second time in a week, Taylor Swift has dedicated a chunk of her time to hospitalized cancer patients. Just days after a spokesperson for New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center confirmed that Swift engaged in one of the longest celebrities visit on record, the singer did the very same thing at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. Accompanied by her father, Swift hung around for five hours, meeting one-on-one with kids and playing a song on her guitar for those in the psychiatric unit.
