Here’s How Black Christians Voted In Alabama

Go here to read the rest:

D uring the Alabama U.S. Senate race, Roy Moore ‘s most solid base was evangelicals, who voted for Moore at an astounding 80 percent. This is despite being an accused pedophile. However, when people discuss the Christian vote, they often leave out an important factor — race. According to The Washington Post , Black Christians voted for Doug Jones at 95 percent, which is on par with the overall Black vote in Alabama (96 percent). Black evangelicals not voting for Moore proves these Christians do not have blind faith and a shift from what we saw in the early 2000s. In  2004, President Bush got a surprising 11 percent of the Black vote, partly because he appealed to Black Christians. Republicans often reached out to Black Christians to block the advancements of LGBT people. Thankfully, times have changed. For example, The New York Times featured 24-year-old divinity student Devon Crawford , who said Moore “sanctifies the truth-making power of White men” and was “really just a masquerade for White supremacy.” He advocated for Doug Jones to win. The Washington Post also reports that Black Christians do not fall for hot button topics like LGBT rights and abortion, “Race generally trumps religion in Alabama overall as a dividing line among voters — and that is certainly true among African American voters.” Clearly, evangelicals standing by Moore is not about their faith, otherwise Black Christians would be on his side as well.  White evangelicals supporting Moore was pure, racist tribalism. Tori Roloff Has Something to Say About Motherhood

Tori Roloff is not exactly known as an outspoken individual. From what we gather when we watch Little People, Big World online and when we follow her on social media, Tori is relatively quiet and extremely kind. Her usual Instagram photos and messages? They mostly consist of family snapshots such as the one above, along with harmless captions such as the affiliated one below: “Sun…? At the beach…? In December…? Dream.” But Roloff appears to have finally been pushed too far. She just took her 634,000 Instagram followers by surprise after sharing a somewhat pointed message (at least by her standards) aimed at critics of parenthood. Or at least at those who have a misguided notion of what being a parent entails. Along with the extremely sweet picture below of her husband and son, Tori penned the following speech on Thursday night: One thing I’ve heard a lot lately on social media, and tv, and even in person has me a little upset… I hear people talking about how “life is over” when you have a kid. I think this is such a lie. She went on to explain why she objects so strenuously to this notion: I have found life after having a kid. I’ve found something I can completely pour my soul in to and something that gives me purpose. I hear people tell others that “ah it’s all over from here”… what is? The fact that I can’t stay out all night partying (that’s cool my bedtime is 9 anyway). Having a kid is honestly a gift I know i don’t deserve from God. Life isn’t over when you have a kid… it’s only just beginning! Amen, right?!? Tori rarely takes such a stance online and she rarely brings up her faith in this sort of manner. But having a child can change you. Tori and Zach Roloff welcomed son Jackson Kyle into the world on May 10 and have not been able to stop gushing over him ever since. “I am so obsessed with every move he makes,” Roloff flat out said last week about her first child. She added at the time: “His little fingers. His coos. And I can’t even with his gummy two tooth smile. He literally breaks my heart (in a good way) every time he moves.” Jackson has the same gene for dwarfism as his father, but both Tori and Zach have made it clear this won’t really have an impact on the way they raise him. “Whatever he wants to do in life, we’re going to find a way to help him do it. That’s our job in life now,” Zach told People Magazine shortly after he became a father. What a great attitude. And what a terrific couple. Tori and Zach are likely as “real” as it gets for a husband and wife featured on reality television. We completely agree with Tori’s take here on parenthood and we continued to wish them good luck and happiness. View Slideshow: Jackson Roloff Baby Photos: OMG! He’s So Cute!

Natalie Portman Mom Playing Tennis Badly of the Day

Natalie Portman has a mom of two tit – and it’s hanging out of her shirt while playing tennis, a fetish of mine, my favorite sport, but with tits….being all fancy and white like a good Jewish girl to make the other Jewish girls seem far less hot or interesting to the Jewish men who have to marry them to keep the faith alive….and I guess to the Star Wars nerds who don’t need to be Jewish to appreciate some Natalie Portman..because she was in their creepy virgin world via their religion of their own….Star Wars…. Say What? Marilyn Manson And Lil Uzi Vert To Collab On New Album

See the original post:

Lil Uzi Vert proved a long time ago that he was about the rock star lifestyle — now he has a rock legend co-signing his talent. In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound , Uzi’s idol and rock icon Marilyn Manson revealed that he’s been in talks with the Philly rapper and plans to work with him on a new album. He told the site, “[Uzi]  wants to do a rock album next, and I would love to see that happen because I think that he could make a new thing. Not some rock/rap type of thing, something special and new that I think needs to be created just to f*** the world up more.” Manson added, “I think that if I had to pick what Lil Uzi Vert should be, if he’s involved in rock, it’s an early Bad Brains or Faith No More, but with a catchier element. I think he has punk rock in him. He’s a lil’ crazy m*therf*cker. And good. Smart as f*ck. He has an attitude like I did, and I like that about him.” Uzi has never been quiet about his love for the rock legend and his desire to create a more authentic sound. You may recall that at the 2017 Video Music Awards, he performed a mashup of his hit record “XO ToUR Llif3” with Ed Sheeran on guitar and singing the hook. Looks like Lil Uzi Vert is well on his way to creating his own lane. [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4228721″ overlay=”true”]

Justin Bieber: I’ll Make More Music … Eventually!

Justin Bieber abruptly canceled his tour, seemingly on impulse. We later learned that apparently his faith was involved in making the decision. Some fans worry that the Biebs has quit music forever to pursue a religious calling. But Beliebers don’t need to fear, because Justin will be going on tour again … when he decides to. Okay, so as we told you when Justin ended his tour in the first place, this was the official statement: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose world tour concerts.” Did anyone else sense thousands of Beliebers crying out at once and then being silenced when that happened? Because we did. “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose world tour over last 18 months.” He clearly doesn’t hate to disappoint them enough , because he didn’t balk at disappointing a lot of them. “He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run.” Speaking of cast and crew, like … you have to wonder if he’s even aware of  “However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.” Sure, tickets were refunded — that didn’t help the hundreds of people left hanging who’d signed up to work that gig. And then, of course, there’s the real reason that he put an end to his tour. It appears that the real reason behind Justin bringing his tour to an abrupt end wasn’t “exhaustion,” which is the reason that he seems to love to give. (Seriously, the Biebs cited “exhaustion” just last year — he is 23 years old and appears to be in pretty good shape, so we’re thinking that he needs to either go to a doctor or find a different excuse) And, for the record, his tour didn’t have super demanding travel times or anything like that to begin with. Not to mention that, while going on stage is definitely work, Justin isn’t going up on stage and dancing upside down on a pole. He mostly just dresses in expensive versions of really trashy clothes and performs. It is what it is, okay? As it turns out, Justin Bieber cancelled his tour for Jesus reasons . But getting super close with this one “young, hip” pastor (we all know the type) apparently won’t keep Justin away from his fans forever. According to TMZ , members of Justin Bieber’s inner circle assure fans that he’ll be back to making music and also back to touring. Just … when he feels that the time is right. Apparently music is his emotional outlet and his preferred tool of self-expression, so they can’t imagine that he would ever give up music. That’s good, at least. But the rest of this has really been a disappointment, you know? Justin’s had his ups and downs over the years, but we’d really hoped that he’d gotten his act together. And then bam , he cancels his tour. You don’t have to be boozing it up all the time to screw up. As easy as it is to be critical of Justin for quitting a tour when plenty of performers keep going when they’re sick or much older than he is, it’s also easy to blast him for We have to remember that celebrities can sometimes be especially vulnerable to charismatic religious people. That’s why that kid from Two And A Half Men got born again and now hates everything. That’s why there are so many celebrity Scientologists. Justin Bieber’s parents were already pretty religious (Christian, specifically), and his mom has been known to post End Times-related stuff on her Instagram. So you could argue that Justin is extra vulnerable to reaching a point in his life where he’s suddenly second-guessing all of his decisions and if they mesh with his faith. It’s just a shame that his religious crisis led to disappointing so many fans — and leaving so many people out of work. Alaskan Bush People Recap: Yes, It’s Cancer

The sad rumor turned into an unfortunate reality on Wednesday night. Following weeks of chatter heading into the final season of Alaskan Bush People, the latest installment of this popular Discovery Channel series confirmed the truth about star Ami Brown… … she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. “Ami started getting sick months ago and we didn’t know what it was, but it changed from the point of ‘something’s wrong’ to ‘something’s wrong ,’” Ami’s husband, Billy, told the camera on this week’s episode. In previews for Season 7 of the show – which centers on a family who has basically cut itself off from civilization and who lives off the land in Alaska – there were hints that Brown was ill. There’s been talk that she was even flown to Los Angeles for treatment. This is what really got folks talking, considering how rarely members of the Browns visit the lower United States. The final set of Alaskan Bush People episodes started filming three months ago. They premiered last Wednesday with a focus on Ami undergoing a biopsy after a number of scans revealed a disturbing mass in her lungs. “Everybody, of course, knows that it will come out good – so we just have to be strong,” said 22-year old daughter Bird last night, trying to remain optimistic as she and her siblings awaited test results. Later on, however, 30-year old Bear went over to a car with a flower for his mom… and noted right away that the news was not positive. His brother, Matt, agreed. He felt the same way. “Seeing mom and dad get out of the car I … kind of already get a feeling that it hasn’t gone too well,” he said, adding: “In one way, I can say that everything in my life has prepared me for this moment. In another way, nothing can.” In the end, it was left to Billy to confirm the family’s worst fears. “Not good. Not good at all,” he told his kids of the exam outcome, explaining as follows: “They’ve got to do some more tests and stuff and what they can see is stage 3 cancer. She could easily be stage 4.” Alaskan Bush People Season 7 Preview: The Biggest Challenge Yet Stage four is the most serious level for a cancer. It typically means the patient does not have a lot of time left. “I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what you’ve been through. I don’t care how old you are. If you hear that your mother has cancer, it’s going to shock you,” said Rain, 14, the youngest of the seven Brown children. “I just wish I could change it somehow. I’m very scared for her,” she added. For Ami, meanwhile, the fear of what will happen to her appeared to be less cumbersome than her concern over the impact this will have on her loved ones. “She doesn’t want to be a burden on someone,” Billy said of his wife. “That’s not Ami. Ami is to take the burden away and take care of everything, but she has to admit to herself that she can’t be that right now. “It’s just time for us to pay it back to her right now, it’s all I think we can do.” To conclude this recap of the latest Alaskan Bush People episode, we’ll leave you with a few words from Ami. Bill and the kids are very loving and supportive. They’re all worried. I tell them, don’t worry. Please don’t worry. Be happy … keep the faith. Good or bad, it’s God’s will and we’ll walk that road. There’s a lot for the kids to experience. I want to be there. I want to hold their babies. I want to hear them laughing … I want to see their eyes wide with enthusiasm as they experience these new things. We’ll continue to tune in each Wednesday night at 9/8c to Discovery and hope that things turn around for Ami. “This is not the end of the road,” said 27-year old son, keeping a hopeful viewpoint and concluding: “It looks like it’s going to be the beginning of maybe a very long, very hard road for everybody. “But we’re just going to have to be stronger than ever and keep up the faith in the good Lord and make it through this.”

Faith Evans Says Diddy Used to Take Her To The Tanning Salon So She Would ‘Look Glamorous’

Continued here:

Women of color in the entertainment industry are usually told that they’re too dark to play a certain role or have a certain position — but it’s rare to have the opposite issue of being too light. Well, for Faith Evans, that was the case after she notoriously married Biggie Smalls just nine days after […]
