It’s been awhile since we wrote about Meghan Markle’s selfish and deranged family. But you can rest assured, if you were sitting over there with some doubts, that most of these relatives remain selfish and deranged. Late last week, Thomas Markle Jr. — the half-brother of the Duchess of Sussex who shares a father with Prince Harry’s one and only squeeze — said in a new interview that Queen Elizabeth should step in, step up and help heal the family’s bitter rift. “The queen should step in and tell Meghan to make amends with her father and family,” Markle Jr. has now said to The Sunday Mirror, using his half-sister’s brand new son against her in an attempted guilt-trip. “Now you’re a mother,” he added, addressing Meghan and continuing as follows: “I hope you’re grown up and mature enough to figure out family is very important.” Meghan, of course, has long had an estranged relationship with her father, who has spent years living as a recluse in Mexico. The two have not talked since Thomas Markle refused to attend the Royal Wedding in May of 2018, citing both health concerns and embarrassment over a paparazzi photo scandal in which he had paid photographs to snap so-called candid picture of him. If you keep up with the Duggars, then you know that earlier this month, the family announced a devastating loss. Joy-Anna, who was 20 weeks pregnant with her second child with husband Austin Forsyth, had lost her baby. As Joy and Austin explained in an Instagram post, they had gone in for an ultrasound to find out the baby’s gender — she was pregnant with a little girl. But during the scan, it was discovered that the baby’s heart was no longer beating . In their post, they said that they’d named the baby Annabell Elise — Annabell meaning “God has favored me” and Elise meaning “God satisfies.” They also told their followers that although the loss was so huge, “God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time” because “we know that we can trust the Lord.” “We don’t grieve as those who have no hope because we trust that we will see this little one again.” “What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus,” they added. So sad, right? Things got even sadder a few days later when Joy and Austin shared photos they took with their late daughter . In the pictures they posted to Instagram, you couldn’t see much of the baby besides the top of her tiny, tiny head, but they were just heartbreaking to see. They were controversial, too — lots of people thought they shouldn’t have shared something so personal . After that, they went back to posting photos of their son, Gideon , and their family adventures, but in their most recent post, Joy decided to touch on their loss once again. And again, it’s just really, really tough to read. For the image, she shared a bible verse that read “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” She wrote the same verse in the caption, along with another that says “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” But in additional to the verses, she also wrote a little message of their own. “Our hearts are healing,” Joy began. “Yes, those days come that I miss my little girl so much. Wishing I could have met her, seen Austin love on her and Gideon play with her.” “Yet,” she wrote, “God has given us so much comfort.” “People say that I am strong, but I am not.” “It is Jesus’ strength that has carried me through,” she insisted. “He’s given me a peace that passes all understanding and he has given me His JOY.” It’s so lovely that she’s able to find such comfort throughout this whole tragedy — and whether you love or hate the Duggars, this is clearly a terrible thing for someone to go through. As you’ve likely heard by now, Amber Portwood is in a considerable amount of trouble. The troubled Teen Mom OG star stands accused of assaulting boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he was holding the couple’s 1-year-old baby. Glennon claims Portwood threw a shoe at his head, ran after him with a machete, and attempted to break down a door after he locked himself in a bedroom with baby James. Obviously, this is not the first time that Amber has been arrested on assault charges, and most folks who are familiar with her explosive temper have little doubt as to the veracity of Andrew’s claims. Spencer Pratt has vowed revenge against those whom he felt “wronged him.” But he and Heidi aren’t focused on the negative. Talking about Baby #2 is very much focusing on the positive, but when do they plan for this to go down? To hear Heidi tell it, she fully expects to start trying to get pregnant as soon as possible. There, she revealed to Us Weekly that she and Spencer are already making plans to expand their family. It’s not just that they want a second child. They apparently have a timeframe in mind for when they would like to start trying to conceive. “Hopefully in a few months,” Heidi reveals. “We’ll start trying” Heidi also gushed about little Gunner Stone, who will be two years old in just a couple of months. “He’s starting to talk a lot more, which is really fun,” Heidi reveals. Different babies develop linguistic skills at different ages and rates. “He loves TV,” Heidi notes. “Which is great for traveling and he’s running the sprints everywhere.” She brags: “[He’s] just a lot of fun.” Contrary to some concerns about screen time and child development, TV in moderation can be wonderfully stimulating for children. What actually is behind their rift, according to the 51-year-old Oscar winner, is a particular episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show that she felt exploited her family’s issues and for which, she never felt she received a true apology for. “Oprah Winfrey called us up and she said my brother wanted to come on the show and talk about him molesting me, and he wanted to tell other parents how to look out for molesters,” she said in an interview with Comedy Hype. Mo’Nique said her mother appeared greedy, her father was visibly drunk (she said she could tell) and she said her brother was scamming viewers. Oprah called her after the show and the actress said she was so still stuck on the fact that she was dealing with the Oprah Winfrey that she didn’t share her true anger over the situation. Her husband, Sidney Hicks, encouraged her to take off the kiddie gloves and speak truthfully about her disappointment. Unfortunately, it would be years before she was able to. She finally confronted Oprah at Alfre Woodard’s annual Oscars Sistahs Soiree in 2015. Mo’Nique said she tried to reach out prior to the event but couldn’t get her back on the phone, and interesting enough, Woodard encouraged her to say “whatever is on your heart” when all the women came together to speak. She asked Oprah an important question in front of everyone. That’s not what we discussed.’” After Oprah had her mother on the show, people came up to Mo’Nique and said pretty negative things about her mom, but she still defended her “because that’s my mother.” “You don’t understand what position you put me in by doing that, so now this is my moment to talk to you. And what she did was take the cowardly way out,” she said. “She said, ‘If you think I did something wrong, I want to apologize.’ And what my husband taught me a long time ago is an apology is not something you think you think you need to give if somebody else thinks you need to give it, it’s what you feel.’” That of course wasn’t good enough for Mo’Nique, as she believed Oprah had “full intentions” of having her family on her show without telling her so she could exploit her their rocky relationship. “When I say to my community, I know Oprah Winfrey when the curtains are closed, I know her when the cameras aren’t running, that’s why Oprah Winfrey doesn’t want to sit down with me nor my husband, to have a conversation, because within minutes, the community would know who Oprah Winfrey really was because she’s not used to anybody asking her any questions.” Mo’Nique was asked if she could say anything to Oprah today what it would be, and she did have something in mind. “I would say, Oprah Winfrey, you know what you need to do. Colorism is a direct result of slavery and its effects trickle down in pretty much every area of human life, from the workplace to entertainment industry — especially when it comes to women. Statistics even show that darker skin women receive harsher prison sentences than their lighter-skinned counterparts. The worst part about the systemic disease is that poisons, obliterates and deteriorates the self-esteem of young, Black girls, who are ultimately the future of the human race. Media shows us that if you’re a dark skin girl, there’s no way you can play the soft, pretty love interest. To them, and most of America, the only roles fit for highly pigmented Black women are that of slaves and maids. “With my flat nose and dark skin, the only parts that came my way were slaves, maids, and a part simply titled 'African Girl.' What’s interesting though is that then it comes to making films about slavery, casting directors have no problem finding and hiring dark skin actresses. So crazy how true that is. They always can find trillions of dark skin actors when it’s a slave movie. But we are revolting against the harsh reality that Hollywood is still uncomfortable showcasing dark skin women on the big screen, unless they’re running from Massa or cleaning up behind his family.
