Rihanna Drops ‘We Found Love’ Single

By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Samir Hussein/WireImage Rihanna has been amping up her fans for the release of her new single, ” We Found Love .” In a flurry of tweets on Wednesday, she shared with fans the lyrics to the Calvin Harris-produced track, as well as the single’s cover art. It all led up to the single’s release on Thursday (September 22) morning on Facebook and the radio. As you would expect from a producer like Harris, “We Found Love” is a party-ready track. A synthy keyboard plays as Rihanna sings the opening lines of the song. It’s a pretty sparse dance track that simply plays up her robotic-like vocals, a pulsing beat and a synth sound. The layers of the song are found in her vocals and Harris’ production. On the song, Ri sings about finding that special someone. “Yellow diamonds in the light/ And we’re standing side by side/ As your shadow crosses mine/ What it takes to come alive/ It’s the way I’m feeling, I just can’t deny/ But I’ve gotta let it go,” she sings on the first chorus. The chorus simply features the line “We found love in a hopeless place” repeated four times. On the second verse, she sings, “Shine a light through an open door/ Love and life I will divide/ Turn away ’cause I need you more/ Feel the heartbeat in my mind/ It’s the way I’m feeling, I just can’t deny/ But I’ve gotta let it go.” For the art, Rihanna is punked out in a pompadour, loose-fitting jeans, chains, a denim jacket and chunky boots. She looks fiercely into the camera, arms crossed as she walks through the city. Both Rihanna and Harris are giving the single four thumbs up. “Excited for people to hear the new @rihanna song, i can tell u she sounds like an #angel !” Harris tweeted . After the song dropped, Rihanna had this message for her fans: “*pulls out glow stick*.” “We Found Love” serves as the lead single off Rihanna’s as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2010’s Loud album. It’s November 13, 2010 and about 4:00pm. I’m sitting front row in the Norfolk, VA Scope with about 200 other people. I’m at Justin’s soundcheck and having one of the best times of my life. I got to watch Justin tell jokes, give my friend’s (@kaylabdollar) little brother girl advice, answer questions from the fans (I got to ask one), and most importantly, be himself. I had such a fun time that day, I’d pay for it again and again. It was only about 35 minutes long, but it was an experience I’ll never forget. Fast forward to December 14, 2010. I was getting ready to leave my house for an orthodontist appointment and just so happened to check my DMs on twitter. I had a new message from the head-person at  www.bieberfever.com   saying that I had won meet & greet tickets to the Greensboro, NC concert the very next day! I couldn’t believe it. No, this wasn’t real, I mean c’mon, I never won anything. I remember my jaw dropping to the floor and my sister and mom freaking out wanting to know what had happened. I told my sister that we were going to be meeting Justin the very next day! We were so excited. The next day, we left school early and drove about 4 hours to Greensboro. We hurried and got to the arena so we wouldn’t be late. When we got there though, we found out we needed our tickets to enter the m&g. We had bought our tickets from an online site and the guy wasn’t supposed to be meeting us with them for another hour! We started freaking out, what if we didn’t get them in time? We wouldn’t meet Justin. We tried talking to workers and everything, my mom called the guy and he said he would hurry and come up there. But the clock was ticking and the M&G was getting closer. Finally the guy got there and went to the ticket window to get our tickets, then his credit card wouldn’t work! That’s when my sister (@hollieimer) and I REALLY started freaking out. Almost everyone had already entered for the M&G and we were sure we were gonna miss it. While we were standing there, Dan Kanter came out to get some family or friends and we talked for a minute, he was super nice! We waited for a little bit longer and finally we got our tickets! We rushed over to the line and a worker had to walk us down saying we were the very last people allowed in! We waited in line for about 20 minutes and finally it was our turn! A security guy told us we had to take a picture with a group of 4 so we had to be in it with 2 girls we didn’t know, and we didn’t get to stand next to Justin, but it was fun! We talked for a second, hugged, and then it was over. Even though both of my experiences were short, they were so fun and gave me a glimpse into the kind of person Justin really is. So in January 2011, a few friends & I came up with the idea of  www.onelesslonelyprom.com , a site to get Justin to go with me to my senior prom on May 19, 2012 . After seeing him be himself, without the cameras & paparazzi for the little time I did, I wanted the chance to really get to know him. I wanted to know Justin Bieber, the teenager. Not Justin Bieber, the world-wide superstar. I’ve spent countless hours making videos and tweeting as many people possible to get the word out and make this even a possibility . Justin should be able to have a normal night, and I feel like I could give him that with this. With the way his lifestyle is now, he won’t have the chance to go to his high school Senior Prom. This would be a great opportunity for both of us, giving him his prom and giving me the chance of knowing him on a personal level. A lot of people have shot this dream of mine down, but I learned, from Justin himself, to Never Say Never. I’ve worked so hard to make this happen, and I’m no where near giving up. My name is Abby and I live in Brisbane, Australia and my Bieber experience was the most hilarious and most memorable time. It was Justin’s first ever concert in Australia and I was lucky enough to meet him twice; once in 2010 and once in 2011 on the exact same day. My friend Johanna who is a part of @jbsource rang me at 7am on the day of the concert. Naturally I was sleeping and didn’t answer it in time so I texted her asking what was wrong. I got a reply of her hysterically saying, “KENNY DMED ME ON TWITTER AND IS GIVING ME 4 MEET AND GREETS”. Johanna, our friend Geena and I had planned to go to the concert together so Johanna being the greatest and most generous friend alive gave us one each and another to our other friend @courtneyyhudson. We were 2nd last in line and it came our turn and we walked into the room. Justin said hey to us all. I walked in 2nd last and Justin had already put his arms around the girls to take a picture. I really wanted a hug so I politely asked Justin if I could have one. He said, “Of course you can”, so he gave me a hug. Seeing as I had already met him once, Geena stood next to him to take the photo and we had all discussed beforehand that we wanted Kenny to be in our photo. “KENNY, KENNY GET IN OUR PHOTO” so he jumps in and we took the picture when Johanna yells out, “WAIT WAIT NO OMG I WASN’T READY, PLEASE TAKE ANOTHER ONE”. Justin and Kenny were like okay take another one, meanwhile I had already taken my hands from around everyone and didn’t  realize  we were taking another photo, so I had to quickly get my hands back around Geena and Kenny and awkwardly enough my hand just had to sit on Kenny’s let’s just say “lower back”. I tried my hardest not to look awkward or laugh but after we took the photo I just blurted out, “How awkward my hand was just on Kenny’s butt”. Kenny laughed and Justin looked at me smiling and just started laughing. I didn’t know if I had offended anyone by saying it but everyone just laughed. Then Kenny told Justin that we were from @jbsource (Even though it was just Johanna)  At the time Justin was wearing a beanie and I really wanted to see his new haircut so I asked, “Why are you covering up your new hair with a beanie?” and responded with, “Um, I just got off a 7 hour flight”. I said, “Well I’m sure it looks nice regardless” and he just smiled and said thank you. Johanna asked him if he could tweet Jbsource because he hasn’t tweeted them in ages and she made him pinky promise that he will, which he did. We all said bye and Justin and Kenny said bye and we thanked them. Overall it was an amazing experience and his concert was AMAZING even though he had a sore back he performed. I will never forget what Kenny did for us and I will never be able to repay Johanna. My name is Alyssa, I’m 15 years old girl and I live in Indonesia. April 23rd, 2011 was the date Justin made my dream came true. I went to his concert with my mom, my sister and my brother. I was sat in the red seats, row 2. When Justin started sang OLLG, a woman named Carin brought me into the backstage area. I was like, “What’s happening?” She said “because you’re the OLLG” I was speechless and started to cry. I met Kenny, Scooter, and Alfredo as well. After I waited a while, one of Justin’s dancers brought me on stage, all I could did was cry but I was so happy. Justin gave me a roses, wiped my tears and the end of the song, he hugged me tight. He smells was so good. I couldn’t believe it was already happening. Carin brought me back to my seat. I couldn’t thank you enough, Justin thanks for letting me to be your one less lonely girl. Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Talks Earthquake Relief Show

Normally used to rocking tens of thousands, the group squeezed into the very intimate Mayan Theater in Los Angeles for a benefit for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief that was fueled by their followers’ energetic fundraising efforts. “It’s a really exciting night tonight. We’re performing a show with he B’z from Japan, [the] biggest rock band in Japanese history,” explained singer Chester Bennington before the gig. “It’s an honor to be able to play with these guys, and it’s especially an honor to be able to give back to the Japanese community that’s been so devastated and been so great in supporting us.” The show was populated by fans who met the group’s challenge to each raise $500 or more for Japanese tsunami relief in order to earn a pair of tickets. It was a continuation of LP’s Music for Relief charity, which was started in the wake of the 2005 Indian Ocean tsunami, which has subsequently raised funds for victims of other natural disasters, including the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. “We wanted to do something where we kind of engaged our fans to give money, because we’re always asking them to give money all the time because unfortunately, there are natural disasters affecting so many places all over the earth that we’re always asking our fans for money,” explained Bennington of the group’s ongoing fundraising efforts. “We wanted to do something that was exciting for our fans and gave them something to look forward to, a goal that was beyond anything they’d done before.” One initial idea had LP donating all the money from a show in Japan to relief efforts. But that felt like the obvious thing to do, so instead they came up with the notion of a secret show that would engage fans by having them “earn” the tickets. “We set a goal that we thought was pretty high, at $250,000, and amazingly our fans — from both Linkin Park and B’z — have generated over $350,000 in 60 days,” he said. “Which is unbelievable considering not only the devastation in Japan but also the economic struggles people are having here in the U.S. as well.” In fact, he said proudly, the top fundraiser brought in more than $13,000. My name is Sarah! I’m 15 years old from Cobourg, Ontario and on August 27th I got to hang out with Ryan Buler, Chaz Somers & Caleb Sebben! It started when my friend Victoria sent me a FB message asking if I wanted to meet Chaz Somers with her at his Le Ninja photo shoot in Stratford! I of course said yes and was totally excited! On the morning of, we jumped into her dad’s truck and drove 3 hours to get to Stratford! When we got there we headed to Pattie’s favourite restaurant “Madelyn’s Diner” for breakfast. We then headed downtown because we wanted to see the avon theatre! When we got there, we saw a young girl playing violin. We got excited because this was the girl who plays violin in Never Say Never! I asked if we could get a picture with her and she said of course! Then Victoria’s dad was talking to the girls dad so we talked to her! We found out her name is Jennifer Saunders and Justin gave her $8 the day he put money in her case. We then took pictures on the steps of the Avon Theatre! Jennifer then reviled to us that underneath a tile was Justin’s Star! (like the Hollywood Walk of Fame but in Stratford) It had been put in really recently, so underneath it was still drying! It was so cool! He was the only one who had a star for something other then acting!  We looked at the time and saw we had to get heading to the Meet & Greet with Chaz! We drove down to the Stratford Cinemas and saw another van filled with 5 girls. We were the only ones coming. One of the guys from Le Ninja clothing came outside and told us Chaz was just going to do a short photo shoot with the contest winner then we came come in to meet him. The guy went back inside. Then Victorias dad says, “Who’s this kid coming down the stairs” Victoria looked around the corner and simply said, “Hey Chaz” my heart started racing. He replied, “Hey girls” and smiled. Then his mom came and opened the door she asked him. “When are the guys coming?” Chaz said, “Ryan and Caleb should be here soon”. My eyes must of popped out of my head. We didn’t know that Ryan was coming! I had to hold is my excitement till Chaz went inside, and as soon as he did i couldn’t stop giggling. We then saw another car pull in and it was Ryan and Caleb. They stepped out of the car and walked right into the cinema. I almost died, I mean its RYAN BUTLER! After about 20 minutes we saw them go into the ticket booth and set the shirts up they were selling. Then Chaz’s older brother came and let us in. All 7 of us girls shyly walked in and stood there not going near the guys. Then I said well what the heck and I walked right up to them, “Hey guys” “HEEEYY!!” I smiled. I suddenly wasn’t nervous because they were normal. They started to sign pictures and stuff then Ryan who shyly was tucked in the corner looked at me and said, “Hey so what grade are you going into” Uhmmm did he just talk to me? *dead* I simply answered, “10” Then he looked at me, “Really?!” I didn’t know if he meant I looked older or younger so I just laughed and nodded and he laughed to. We then had to get out of the movie theatre because it was opening soon so we went onto the front yard and hung out there. I got some videos for my friends and we all took pictures and just talked! Then they had to get going so we all got hugs and when Caleb hugged me he picked me up. Ryan hugged me next tightly then Chaz. The other girls got in there car and left but we waited till the guys left so we talked for another 5 or 10 minutes and thats when Chaz tweeted about hanging out with us (except he got my username wrong) but it was still so cool! We sadly had to leave. We waved goodbye then got in the car and headed downtown again. We were walking past the Avon theatre when I glanced across the street and saw Ryan, Chaz and Caleb AGAIN! I just smiled then Ryan looked over and waved at me. I waved back then so did Chaz and Caleb.  I know I didn’t meet Justin but I got to hangout with his friends! They were all so sweet, funny and Justin’s lucky to have them! I know my day to meet Justin will come but meeting Chaz & Ryan was just as amazing! Hey My name is Gabby and I never thought that one day I would be…

Hey My name is Gabby and I never thought that one day I would be emailing my Bieber experience. I live in Perth, Australia and on May 7th I had planned to go to Justin’s concert and my amazing dad managed to get me 5th row tickets! Justin has followed me, DMed and RTed me. Now I am definitely the biggest belieber in my school EASILY and all my friends knew I was going to go to the extremes to glimpse or meet Justin and his crew. I managed to figure out when he was flying into Perth from Adelaide and with a lot of begging and tears, I convinced my dad to drive me there! He was saying, “There is no point” and “Your going to be extremely let down” but knowing me, I would never give up. On May 6th me and my sister @BieberOwnsAus went to the airport at about 10am on Friday. Yes, we were skipping school with BIEBER FEVER. We got the the airport safely and met up with Kaitlyn (@kaitlyn1dbieber), Tessa and Melissa! I met Kaitlyn from Twitter and we  organized  to meet up (I know.. breaking all the internet rules to not meet strangers). We went around the whole airport for hours and hours and hours just asking if the staff knew about Justin coming in. We managed to get enough information to figure it out. He was arriving at 4:30 at gate 15. We then met a few more Beliebers that we knew off Twitter, we started talking and got the attention of Channel 9. We got interviewed by them, WHICH WENT ON TV AND JUSTIN POSTED THE LINK ON TWITTER! After 5 hours of dedication and having our moments of fame, it was 3pm. We were all getting very nervous! The clock was nearing to  4pm and then 4:15. There was 15 minutes to go! About 100 people had showed up to see him arrive after school even though I had been waiting since 10am. So that was a little annoying! The clock ticked to 4:30 and there were still heaps of people waiting at Gate 15! My stomach was twisting and turning and I couldn’t breath properly. A few Qantas planes landed right after another and with every Qantas plane that landed there were cries and screams! The moment of truth was when we waited for the right plane to turn into the gate. The 1st plane didn’t turn, the 2nd plane didnt turn and then the 3rd slowly but surely turned into GATE 15!  I was crying and fangirling thinking JUSTIN BIEBER IS ON THAT PLANE! Minutes past and I was shaking with my iPhone in my hand. The gate doors opened and there was a moment of silence and within 10 seconds I saw a little red beanie at the end of the walkway. This isn’t possible I thought to myself and sure enought Pattie walked out with Kenny behind her and JUSTIN BIEBER! The moment didn’t last for long as they turned into a door on the right but I saw him and that’s all that mattered! I ran up to the window and saw Justin jump into a car and drive off! Click here for the video.  I was screaming and crying so much! After I cooled off I thought, if Justin, Pattie and Kenny drove off, where is everyone else? I checked all the conveyer belt things and sure enough I saw Ryan Good, Dan Kanter, Alison, Carin, Alfredo, Justin’s grandparents, dancers, singers. I couldn’t talk so I went up to some of them. I thought it was all over, until a newspaper interviewer from the West Australian asked for a photo of me and Ryan Good in it! Ryan (in his awesome accent) goes “point at the camera” and so we both pointed at the camera. It was awesome, I looked at him about to cry and said, “YOU ARE THE BIGGEST LEGEND” and he turns and says, “No.. you are” Then the West Australian newspaper lady also interviewed me for the newspaper! The next day at the concert it was amazing as well! 5th row was so close! That was the best weekend of my life and I hope he comes back to Perth again one day!
