Too Grown? Will Smith’s Son Jaden Smith Wants To Be “Emancipated” So He Can Move Out His Parent’s House And Ball Out Of Control In His Own Crib

You got to watch these Smith kids . Willow likes to cut her hair short and dye it all types of ghetto colors and Jaden dates Kylie Jenner. Need we say more. Will Smith’s Son Wants to Move Out According to Radar Online Jaden Smith doesn’t even have his driver’s license, but he is ready to buy his own home and get emancipated from his famous parents. In a new interview with The Sun, Will Smith reveals that his 14-year-old son and After Earth costar recently told him that he wants legal freedom and independence from him and Jada Pinkett so he can buy his own house and live alone – and RadarOnline.com has the details. Will explains that Jaden, who will be celebrating his 15th birthday in July and is close pals with 19-year-old Justin Bieber, asked for a very unique gift. “He says, ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ‘Ooh,’” Will explained. “That’s the backlash. On the other side, if kids just want to have command of their lives, I understand.” Will, who has two other children, Willow, 12, and Trey, 19, reveals he has a laid back approach to parenting and doesn’t believe in reprimanding his kids. “We generally don’t believe in punishment,” he says. “From the time Jaden was five or six, we would sit him down, and all he has to do is be able to explain why what he did was the right thing for his life. I think it’s a much more difficult question to ask someone —’Why was that right?’ — than to try to show them why it was wrong. “Nobody wants to be wrong, all parts of yourself fight like crazy to not be wrong. So I’ll say to Jaden, ‘Why was that the right thing to do for your life?’ and if he can explain why kicking his sister in the chest was the right thing to do, we can see to it that he understands that it wasn’t so smart.” Do you think Jaden is too young to be on his own?

Ho Sit Down: Conservative Activist Phyllis Schlafly Says “Feminism Is At War With Mother Nature”

Another conservative saying something dumb. Oh Boy! Conservative Says Feminism Is At War With Mother Nature According To Raw Story Calling her a “typical feminist,” conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly devoted a radio address to deriding Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and her book, Lean In, saying it illustrated what Schlafly called problems with feminism. “Too many women come to their senses only after age 40 and then find it’s too late to have a husband or children,” Schlafly said. “Feminism is at war with Mother Nature, and Mother Nature is still winning.” Schlafly said the smarter thing to do for women was to ignore the advice of “feminists and women’s studies courses” and decide on how to compromise between starting a family and pursuing a career, instead of putting professional goals first. “She thinks women “sabotage” themselves by not pursuing career opportunities as aggressively as men do,” Schlafly said of Sandberg. “However, Sandberg’s feminist arguments and conclusions are at odds with what most women really want out of life.” Sandberg’s observation in Lean In that not enough women were in high-level positions, Schlafly said, was a “typical feminist complaint.” Listen to Schlafly’s criticism of Sandberg , in audio posted Monday by Right Wing Watch. Does she have a point? AP

Rewind The Track? Rush Limbaugh Says Beysus’ New Song Is Anti-Feminist “She Understands It’s Worth It To Bow Down To Men”

Here this fool goes. SMH. It seems that everyone has an opinion on Bey’s new song “Bow Down” including the a$$hole better known as Rush Limbaugh. Via NYDailyNews reports : Rush Limbaugh is giving Beyoncé’s new single two thumbs down in the feminism department. The talk show host, 62, spent part of his show on Wednesday criticizing the pop singer for pulling a “total 180″ with her new single “Bow Down/I Been On.” Citing a story in The Telegraph , Limbaugh claimed that, rather than extolling women’s independence in her song, Beyoncé is encouraging women to be subservient to their spouses. “Bow Down,” according to Limbaugh, advises women to “put up with it.” “She married the rich guy,” Limbaugh continued. “She now understands it’s worth it to bow down to men.” “She’s going to call herself Mrs. Carter on the Bow Down B——s tour,” Limbaugh added. Beyoncé, who has gone on record as a feminist in the past, might not agree with Limbaugh’s interpretation of her single. “I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women,” the superstar said in an interview with The Daily Mail in 2010. “I think we learn a lot from our female friends — female friendship is very, very important.” We’re pretty sure Rush Limbaugh didn’t even listen to this song. He just likes to run his mouth. WENN

CNN’s Chetry, Newsweek’s Miller Agree: ‘Mama Grizzlies’ Phenomenon Misleading Because Candidates Largely Oppose Liberal Policies

Are “Mama Grizzlies” who oppose state children’s health insurance programs (S-CHIP) and teachers’ unions unfaithful to their maternal name? CNN anchor Kiran Chetry joined Newsweek’s Lisa Miller Monday in wondering if that is so. Miller appeared on CNN’s “American Morning” to feature her most recent piec e on “Mama Grizzlies,” prominent female conservatives in the vein of Sarah Palin. “All the candidates that we – whose records we looked at, are against the Obama health plan in general, and yes, the CHIP program in specific,” reported Miller, a senior editor for Newsweek. “There are rising numbers of poor children in this country, a quarter of America’s children are poor. It seems like a funny way to say that you’re for kids, and be against all of these programs.” Miller ultimately concluded that the “Mama Grizzlies” movement will fall short of its political goals, because “the issues facing the country are complex, and bears are not.” “Do we really want bears to solve our problems?” Miller quipped at the end of the segment.   Kiran Chetry agreed that the candidates’ positions may contradict their maternal title. “I guess if you strip away the core message of the Tea Party candidates, which Sarah Palin has really helped endorse, they just want less government, they want less spending. That, unfortunately at times, butts up against things that many say would be good for kids.” Among the examples of “Mama Grizzlies” failing to help America’s children? Both Miller and Chetry noted the candidates’ opposition to S-CHIP programs, teachers’ unions, Pell Grants, and Obamacare as evidence. Nevada Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle’s opposition to a domestic violence bill in the Nevada state legislature and Minnesota Republican Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s vote against a federal parental-leave policy drew some attention as well. So who on the Democratic side would make a good “Mama Grizzly?” Miller said Hillary Clinton would, being a “powerful woman and a mom,” although she wouldn’t admit it. A partial transcript of the segment, which aired on September 27 at 8:14 a.m. EDT, is as follows: KIRAN CHETRY: It’s interesting, because when you take a look at some of the candidates she’s referring to, and we can talk about some of them, they aren’t necessarily all on the same page with each other when it comes to some of these issues. I mean, is this sort of a coherent set of ideas, or is it more of a marketing tool? LISA MILLER, Senior Editor, Newsweek: Right, well, I mean, I would say – and we say at the end of the story that it is really more of a marketing tool. It’s a very compelling image, right? Everybody who’s a parent has that feeling of wanting to protect their kids. And if we make it America’s kids, or our kids, you know, our future, it’s a very powerful image. On the other hand, you know, Christine O’Donnell for example isn’t a mom. So she talks about our grandchildren in speeches, but she’s not actually a “Mama Grizzly.” And then on things like education, the “Grizzlies” are really all over the place. You know, Sarah Palin is actually quite progressive on education. She has always talked about paying teachers more. In Alaska, she ramped up the budget for the Department of Education over and over again before she left the position of Governor of Alaska. She promised a big infusion of money to the schools. Whereas Angle and Bachmann are known for sort of hating the teachers’ unions, fighting back against lobbyists. All of them, many of them, have this anti-Department of Education position, you know, parents know what’s good for kids, and administrators and bureaucrats should get out. CHETRY: Right, but just because you’re against the Department of Ed doesn’t mean you’re not for kids getting a better education. MILLER: I guess that’s true. On the other hand, you know, a lot of them have voted for – against things like Start, programs for poor kids, Pell Grants, which are to help, you know, poor kids get college education – CHETRY: Right, and this is the interesting part. Because, I mean, I guess if you strip away the core message of the Tea Party candidates, which Sarah Palin has really helped endorse, is they just want less government, they want less spending. That, unfortunately at times, butts up against things that many say would be good for kids. We have Bachmann, Michelle Bachmann in the Congress, and Nickie Haley who are both against the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, that provides health care to poor children. MILLER: All the candidates that we – whose records we looked at, are against the Obama health plan in general, and yes, the CHIP program in specific. There are rising numbers of poor children in this country, a quarter of America’s children are poor. It seems like a funny way to say that you’re for kids, and be against all of these programs.   CHETRY: Yeah, the other issue that you talked about is the voting against – was it Angle who voted against a Domestic Violence bill in the Nevada legislature? MILLER: Yes, and Bachmann voted against a federal parental-leave policy for federal employees. So when you have a new baby, time off. That seems like a good thing for kids. CHETRY: Is there a Democratic equivalent to the “Mama Grizzly” phenomenon on the other side? MILLER: Well, I mean, I think, you know, you could call Hillary Clinton a “Mama Grizzly,” right? She’s a powerful woman, she’s a mom. But I don’t think she would ever call herself a “Mama Grizzly.” She doesn’t fit in to this demographic. CHETRY: You wrote in an interesting line at the end of the article that said in the wild, real “Mama Grizzlies” are known to be aggressive, irrational, and mean. The issues facing the country are complex, and bears are not. So what is the upshot of this? MILLER: Well, I mean, I think, you know, it’s a great marketing tool, as we said at the outset. You know, calling upon women’s primal maternal instincts is a good thing, but let’s think about it. I mean, this is a very divided country, and we have some big problems to solve. Do we really want bears to solve our problems?

Jack Cafferty’s Latest Rant Against Catholic Church: Ordain Women

On Tuesday’s Situation Room, CNN’s Jack Cafferty revisited one of his favorite subjects of ire, the Catholic Church, and this time called for the ordination of women. Cafferty highlighted the advertising campaign of a British organization which demands that Pope Benedict XVI allow for such simulations of ordination, and mocked a Catholic priest’s defense of the all-male priesthood. The commentator devoted his 6 pm Eastern hour Cafferty File segment to the issue of women’s ordination: “‘ Pope Benedict: ordain women now ‘- that’s the message that will be plastered on London buses when the pontiff heads to England’s capital in a couple of weeks. A group called Catholic Women’s Ordination is spending $15,000 for 15 buses to carry posters with that message around London for a month.” Cafferty then moved to the opposing viewpoint, and wasted little time before bashing it and one of its defenders: “Father Stephen Wang says women are not barred from the priesthood because of sexism….Wang says that Jesus chose 12 men, and no women, to be his apostles, and he adds that men and women are equal in Christianity, but that gender still matters. Wang compares the role of a priest to an actor, saying no one would be surprised if he wanted a male actor to play King Arthur. He then admits the analogy is weak. That’s the most startling and profound thing he said in the message so far- terrible! ” CNN’s “belief” blog (yes, the network has one) ran an article on Monday which gave further excerpts from Father Wang’s recent column on the priesthood : “Men and women are equal in Christianity, he continues, but ‘ this does not mean that our sexual identity as men and women is interchangeable. Gender is not just an accident .’ He [Father Wang] compared the role of a priest to that of an actor playing King Arthur…’No one would be surprised if I said I wanted a male actor to play the lead,’ he said, admitting the analogy was ‘weak.’ But, he said, ‘ it shouldn’t surprise us if we expect a man to stand in the person of Christ as a priest, to represent Jesus in his humanity – a humanity that is not sexually neutral .'” Cafferty later noted that “in addition to the bus campaign, the women’s group plans to hold a vigil the day before the Pope’s visit, and they plan to demonstrate outside the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.” That may seem a bit off, as the Archbishop of Canterbury, as he is the honorary chief cleric of Anglicanism, but the commentator didn’t explain that the planned protest will take place when Pope Benedict is meeting with the archbishop. He added that “in 1994, then-pope, John Paul II, declared the Catholic Church has no authority to ordain women , and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who is now pope, agreed with him.” After reading his “Question of the Hour,” the CNN personality remarked to anchor Wolf Blitzer that ” you could probably find people if you tried, Wolf, or even if you didn’t try very hard, who would tell you it’s way past time .” Blitzer replied, ” I know a lot of people agree with you on that, Jack- a lot of people out there .” Just before the top of the 7 pm Eastern hour, Cafferty read some of his viewer replies. Only one defended the Catholic position: CAFFERTY: Joanne in Pennsylvania writes, ‘It’s past time! There is a great need for priests, especially in the United States. We don’t know for sure that Jesus only choose 12 men, since it was men who decided what texts went into the New Testament. I think it is tradition, and not doctrine, that has kept women from becoming priests .’ Guillermo writes, ‘ I completely agree with Father Wang . Similar to babies being born from women only, the role of the priesthood was established for men only. As simple as Father Wang indicates it, the priest represents Jesus- a man.’ ‘Y’ writes, ‘If I were a woman, I’d tell the Catholic Church to take a hike. Why be obsequious to these clowns? The golden days of white male dominance are over .’ Joe in Houston writes, ‘As an ordained minister of the Church of Apathetic Agnostics, I don’t believe there’s any way I could care any less.’ Anthony in New Jersey: ‘ As a disavowed Catholic, I think the Church should just take down its shingle and declare moral bankruptcy. They demonize homosexuals, abuse children, and treat women like second-class citizens. They’re still in the Middle Ages, as our friends, the Islamic radicals. If a religion can’t teach tolerance and acceptance as their main precept, then they ought to just disband, and get out of the way of progress .’ Barker writes, ‘ The Anglican Church is basically the Catholic Church, except you can have women priests and the priests can marry . It seems to have worked fine for the Anglicans and the Episcopalians for the last few centuries, and you don’t see all the scandals with them that you see with the Catholic priests .’ And Dick writes, ‘Oh my goodness, no! The only things that remain the way the Almighty intended are the Catholic Church and the white male-only country clubs in South Carolina .’ Cafferty has long had an axe to grind against the Catholic Church. During a March 19, 2009 commentary, he attacked the pope’s comment against the effectiveness of condoms in reducing the spread of HIV in Africa: ” It’s time- it is past time for the Catholic Church to enter the 21st century, or at least try to drag itself out of the 13th century .” Earlier in 2010, Cafferty devoted five commentaries over the course of 20 days to blasting both Benedict XVI and the Church. Overall, CNN fares no better, with consistently slanted coverage against the Church . For example, during a March 26, 2010 segment , anchor Kyra Phillips endorsed the agenda of three guests who agitate for politically-correct changes inside the Catholic Church, including women’s ordination and the acceptance of homosexual behavior: ” I think all three of you need to head to the Vatican and institute some change .”

Cutting Spending is Sexist! WaPo Headline: ‘British Women to Bear Budget Pain’

Liberal Democratic strategists reading today’s Washington Post are probably taking notes, preparing talking points for a future which may hold a Republican Congress in the cards. “British women to bear budget pain” cried the page A6 headline. “Report says austerity plan mostly cuts into women’s livelihoods,” added the subheader for London-based Post staffer Anthony Faiola’s  story. Faiola noted that “[t]he Fawcett Society, a leading women’s rights group here, filed an unprecedented complaint with the nation’s high court this month, arguing that the government failed to consider the effect on women of its leaner ’emergency budget.'” At no point did Faiola find a critic to allege that the social welfare system in Britain itself was “sexist” or at least that it victimizes poor Britons, particularly women, by creating a culture of dependency on the state. Indeed, among his 19 paragraphs, Faiola quickly dispatched the Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition’s defense with a brief quote from finance minister George Osborne in paragraph 13. Faiola quickly got back on track two paragraphs later by noting that “[s]ome Britons… see the cuts as anything but fair,” and then turning to the lament of one Joanne Morgan “a divorced mother of three teenagers” who works for the state and “is set to lose $285 a month in child-assistance payments.” Of course, Faiola failed to balance out Morgan’s tale of woe by finding an average bloke in a pub to dismiss as poppycock the argument that budget cuts are sexist.

Daily Kos Creates Petition To Abolish Filibuster

A petition is beginning to show up in e-mail inboxes across the country thanks to the left-wing website Daily Kos. The goal? Ending the practice of filibuster completely and letting Senators pass news laws with a 50 plus 1 vote. For those who paid attention to Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.) becoming the infamous “number 41,” the implications are all too clear. The Senate passed Obamacare on Christmas Eve in 2009 only because there were exactly 60 votes to stop a Republican filibuster. Brown’s election weeks later dropped Democratic control to 59 and virtually stopped them cold. Democrats are now expecting to lose the House in November and keep the Senate only with a slim majority. The folks who run Daily Kos, apparently thinking 49 Republican votes should not matter, are trying to change the rules to make it easier for Democratic agendas to sail through. Behold the thought process of today’s Machiavellian liberals who will do absolutely anything to get their way (h/t NBer choselife3x): Today we’re launching a campaign to end the filibuster. Join this campaign by clicking the link below and signing the petition that appears: We’ll deliver the petition to every Democratic nominee for Senate and every returning Democratic Senator. When we do, we’ll get them on record about whether they agree that the rules of the Senate can, and should, be changed with a simple majority vote on the first day of Congress next year. Once 51 returning and potential Senators have come out in support, we’ll have proven that changing Senate rules is possible with a simple majority vote. Sign the petition, prove change is possible! There’s no bigger decision Senate Democrats will make next year. The Senate is where good legislation goes to die. Democrats can either change a system that allows a tiny unaccountable minority to thwart the will of the country, or they can continue being part of the problem. So even though Republican Senators ostensibly represent 41 percent of America now, and are predicted to represent even more states in 2011, the Daily Kos calls them “a tiny unaccountable minority.” And even though the majority of Americans repeatedly tell pollsters they reject Democratic agendas, it’s Republicans who “thwart the will of the country.” On each of those issues, the Daily Kos came down on the side against the will of most Americans. And now the plan is to make it even easier to ram things down Americans’ throats. Democrats will presumably be able to squeak into the Senate with a bare 51 votes and then pass whatever they want even when the public loudly protests. The filibuster has been an important part of Congress since the very beginning of this country. Film director Frank Capra used the procedure in the iconic 1939 movie “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” proudly displaying the means by which a minority can protect itself from a bullying, overconfident majority. Ending the filibuster would be a drastic departure from our nation’s founding and a radical change in the meaning of representation. As of this writing, Daily Kos is not displaying the petition on its front page. Yet one Kos member by the name of garscosi posted this rather embarrassing diary pleading with the website’s owners to reconsider, followed by a slew of comments in agreement. For a website that habitually trumps up popularity for unpopular ideas, it’s just so fitting.
