Lindsay Lohan‘s mom was at a fashion show because when you think of fashion, you immediately think of Lindsay Lohan’s mom. Some creep with a camera decided he would shower Dina Lohan with empty compliments about her “energy” and that she was in good shape or something, and it made for an interview that is not only unbearably awkward, but Dina Lohan manages to make herself more reprehensible than ever… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : VH1’s Today In Music Discovery Date : 16/09/2011 17:13 Number of articles : 2

Son of No One Trailer: Could We Be Looking at the Biggest Whiff of 2011?

The NYC cop drama/thriller Son of No One set up quite a bubble for itself ahead of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival: Talented filmmaker Dito Montiel ( A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints , Fighting ) had his muse Channing Tatum spearheading a cast including Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche, Katie Holmes, Ray Liotta and, going straight, Tracy Morgan, creds that helped the movie earn the festival’s prestigious closing-night spot. And then came that notorious press and industry screening, piercing the bubble and hurling Son into indie limbo. Art-house ensemble piece or genre potboiler? Misunderstood gem or biggest swing-and-miss of 2011? And while I’d never suggest judging a film by its trailer, the latest spot does prompt the necessary question asked of all marketing: Does this preview actually make you want to see Son of No One ? That’s where things get complicated.

Brad Pitt Says Jen Aniston ‘Interesting’ Comments Were Misinterpreted

Actor explains his Parade quote about not ‘living an interesting life’ during marriage. By Jocelyn Vena Brad Pitt Photo: Michael Tran/ Getty Images Brad Pitt made headlines this week when he opened up to Parade magazine about his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. “It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself,” Pitt said about the tail-end of his marriage to Aniston, which lasted from 2000 to 2005. “I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.” He also lamented that he spent much of the ’90s “trying to hide out,” adding, “I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out.” But following the story’s publication on the Web, according to Reuters, Pitt issued a statement lamenting that people are taking his quotes the wrong way. “It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly,” he explained in the statement released through his talent agency. “The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself — and that, I am responsible for.” Aniston and Pitt divorced in 2005, after he began dating his “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-star Angelina Jolie, with whom he now has six kids. While he may have come off as critical of his ex, Pitt does say very favorable things about his current partner in the Parade story. “I’m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much. A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss,” he said. “That’s the trade-off. But I’ll take it all. … One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mom. She is such a great mom. Oh, man, I’m so happy to have her.” Pitt is currently making the rounds promoting his film “Moneyball” and spoke to MTV News at the Toronto Film Festival, where he remained more tight-lipped about whether he has a cameo in Jolie’s directorial debut, “In the Land of Blood and Honey.” “I will say nothing,” he declared. “Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Brad Pitt The Many Looks, Movies And Girlfriends Of Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt Is ‘Inspiring,’ ‘World War Z’ Director Says

‘I always wanted to work with [Pitt],’ Marc Forster tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Brad Pitt Photo: Steve Granitz/ Getty Images Like a zombie ambling toward its target, Brad Pitt took his time developing “World War Z.” Plan B, his production company, first acquired the rights to Max Brooks’ novel about the rise of the flesh-eating undead in 2007, then hiring “Quantum of Solace” director Marc Forster to helm the project before the script underwent a series of rewrites. At that point, it was not at all clear that Pitt would take on anything more than a behind-the-scenes role. Eventually, though, Forster found in Pitt not only a hands-on producer but the star of his film. “I was really intrigued by the book,” Forster told MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival while promoting his drama, “Machine Gun Preacher.” “I always wanted to work with [Pitt]. I think he is an incredible actor and he is an inspiring collaborator. If you look at his filmography, he has incredibly good taste. The choices he makes — he’s very smart about it.” The book itself doesn’t present a straightforward narrative, but an oral history that skips from character to character and crumbling nation to crumbling nation as the zombie apocalypse takes hold. From these far-flung plot strands, the filmmakers had to construct a coherent, streamlined narrative. What’s more, they had to find a way to separate “World War Z” from the zombie-centric pack, both past and present, in movies, TV, video games and beyond. “You want to try to avoid the clich

Brad Pitt Won’t ‘Brag’ About Angelina Jolie’s Directorial Debut

‘It is the best college sex comedy I have ever seen in my entire life!’ ‘Moneyball’ co-star Jonah Hill quips about ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Damn, those two lovebirds are simpatico! For a while now, we’ve been trying to get Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to dish details about her directorial debut, “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” and his rumored cameo in the project. Last December, all Jolie would say about whether Pitt was involved in the film, a love story about a relationship between a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman in the lead-up to the 1992 Bosnian war, was this: “Possibly.” Taking a cue from his lip-sealed lady, Pitt was determined at the Toronto International Film Festival this week not to say a peep about “Blood and Honey.” “I will say nothing,” he declared. “Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.” His “Moneyball” co-star Jonah Hill, sitting right beside him, was happy to fill the void. “It is the best college sex comedy I have ever seen in my entire life!” he cracked, before openly wondering, “I have no idea what you guys are talking about. It doesn’t sound like a funny movie to me. What is ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey?’ ” We filled Hill in. The movie, which marks Jolie’s directorial debut and is eying a December 23 release, “illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict,” according to a press release from distributor FilmDistrict. “Oh, OK, sorry, it just sounded like a serious movie,” he said by way of explaining his joke. All of which led to Pitt correcting us that it wasn’t just directed by his girlfriend. “And written. Written by,” he made it known. “I’m not bragging.” Check out everything we’ve got on “In the Land of Blood and Honey.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Ryan Gosling Is The New Franco And Other Lessons From Toronto

From Brad Pitt and George Clooney to the ‘cancer comedy’ and sex addicts, the Toronto International Film Fest was enlightening. By Josh Horowitz Ryan Gosling arrives at “Drive” Premiere at Ryerson Theatre during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2011 in Toronto, Canada Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images TORONTO — The Toronto International Film Festival is many things to many people. Oscar season launching pad for some. Moviegoing nirvana for others. And if you want to catch sight of a celebrity, or two you could do a lot worse than a festival that lines them up every night as if you’re living inside the poster for “Ocean’s Eleven.” Yes, George Clooney was here (with two movies in tow), as were Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling and Madonna and … well, you get the picture. TIFF continues through this weekend, but MTV News (and I) packed up our troubles and hours of interviews on Wednesday (September 14). Truth be told, the festival moves into a slower gear by Tuesday/Wednesday every year. As always, I learned a lot in the past week. Here are just a few of those lessons: Brad Pitt Likes “The Incredibles” When I sat down with Pitt (for the first time, gulp), he, Jonah Hill and I fell into the standard TIFF conversation before the interview: “So, what’s good?” After I touted a few choice flicks, Pitt admitted all he gets to see are animated films at home, thanks to the kids — which of course segued into the standard animation conversation: best Pixar film ever? Brad and I heartily agreed on “The Incredibles,” while Jonah insisted that “Ratatouille” is it for him because of its unlikely brilliance given the subject matter. Agree to disagree, Jonah. 2011 Belongs to Gosling and Fassbender If 2010 was all about James Franco and Ryan Reynolds rising to A-list status, let’s all make some room for Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender this year. Each actor brought two films to TIFF this year, and they were among the most talked-about stars on the party circuit — and not for anything gossipy, just for brilliant, charismatic and unique performances. Gosling, the Canadian boy made good, brought George Clooney’s “The Ides of March” and “Drive” to TIFF, and both films seem destined for a slew of top 10 lists. “Drive” in particular is an iconic movie star role for Gosling — his nameless “driver” says very little but might be the coolest character of the year. Speaking of cool, anyone who saw “X-Men: First Class” was probably as mesmerized as I was by Michael Fassbender’s badass Nazi hunter Erik Lehnsherr (you can’t put Magneto on a driver’s license). But forget superhero movies for a second. Fassbender arrived in Toronto fresh off a Venice Film Festival win for a truly brave performance in “Shame.” I saw “Shame” at its Toronto premiere, and while it’s not for everyone, this character study of a sex addict in NYC will likely have Fassbender on the awards circuit the next few months. An ABC Family Star Will Probably Be Getting an Oscar Nod I’ll come clean and admit I’m not intimately familiar with the “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” but Shailene Woodley certainly has my attention now. The young actress more than holds her own opposite Clooney (himself delivering one of his best performances) in Alexander Payne’s sad, funny chronicle of a family under duress, “The Descendants,” She’ll make you cry. Promise. Don’t Be Scared of the Cancer Comedy The only problem with “50/50” is that the shorthand on it is a tough sell for date night (i.e. the “cancer” comedy). But I’ve now seen this flick twice, and it’s a crowd-pleaser of the highest order. It was the only film I saw in Toronto that received a standing ovation. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogem, Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard, it’s loosely inspired by screenwriter Will Reiser’s true cancer experience — like “The Descendants” it’s another brilliant and honest film that touches you in all the right ways. And that’s just the tip of the TIFF iceberg, my friends. In the next few days, we’re rolling out interviews with the likes of Megan Fox, Leighton Meester, Clive Owen, Rachel Weisz, Emily Blunt and Gerard Butler — and yeah, more from those guys Gosling and Pitt. Brad Pitt Relates To ‘David Vs. Goliath’ Story In ‘Moneyball’

‘I certainly feel injustice,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in “Moneyball” Photo: Columbia Pictures You’d think it’s been a while since Brad Pitt felt anything like an underdog, since those days in the late ’80s when he was pumped just to get a few lines in a TV show like “21 Jump Street” or had to console himself with work as an extra next to then-hot shots like Andrew McCarthy and Jami Gertz. These days, he’s Brad Pitt: Oscar nominee, beloved of Angelina Jolie and … freaking Brad Pitt. But as the actor admitted to MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival, there are still times when he feels like the world is against him, when he finds himself in a similar situation to the 2002 Oakland Athletics, the small-market Major League Baseball club at the center of his new movie, “Moneyball.” “I certainly feel injustice,” he said. “I’m no foreigner to that, whether it’s real or perceived.” Unjust is certainly the situation the A’s find themselves in the film, which is based on the best-selling nonfiction title by Michael Lewis and which hits theaters September 23. The team had a vastly smaller payroll than other teams but nonetheless was able to rise to the top when general manager Billy Beane (Pitt) employed a newfangled, statistics-based approach to building his roster of players. “These are guys that are working in an unfair game,” Pitt explained. “They are a team with no money trying to fight — it’s David vs. Goliath. How are they going to be competitive? How are they going to stand a chance? They can’t fight the other guys’ fight; they’re going to lose every time. These guys had to rethink it and rethink what they were doing. “They’re Galileo, in a sense, going up against an institution that is not going to be very happy about them questioning their norms,” he added.
