Nick Jonas Wishes ‘The Best’ For Demi Lovato

‘She’s been in all of our thoughts and prayers, for sure,’ Nick tells E! News about his former tourmate. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas Photo: Andrew H. Walker/ Getty Images Demi Lovato is making strides toward the spotlight again after entering treatment last fall, when she left her tour with the Jonas Brothers early to deal with some personal issues. Now that the Disney star is out, freshly tatted and back on Twitter, it seems that one of her former tourmates, Nick Jonas, has some kind words for her. “I think that [we’re] always wishing the best for her,” Nick told E! News about his “Camp Rock” co-star. “And hoping that she’s had a good, healthy recovery. She’s been in all of our thoughts and prayers, for sure.” It’s a sentiment that’s been shared by Nick’s brothers in previous interviews. Joe Jonas, who dated Demi for a short time last year, kept his statements brief in the latest issue of Details magazine, but did say, “I wish her the best.” Back in December, Kevin Jonas appeared on MTV’s “The Seven” and, while he hadn’t spoke with Lovato at the time, he did send her some well-wishes. “I really haven’t had any contact [with her],” he said. “Of course, we wish her well in her recovery.” Since rejoining Twitter earlier this week, Demi has been sending out encouraging words to her fans and even sharing what she’s been doing in her downtime. Her activities have included wearing heels despite her sprained ankle and hanging out with reality starlet Kim Kardashian. “Happy birthday to @RobKardashian!! A true friend who has always had my back and I’ll always have his!! BTW – nice dress,” she wrote before giving a shout-out to his older sister. “@KimKardashian so amazing. Hahahaha love you so much!” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Demi Lovato Related Artists Jonas Brothers Demi Lovato

Foo Fighters Slam ‘Glee’ Creator Ryan Murphy

‘F— that guy for thinking everybody should want to do ‘Glee,’ ‘ Dave Grohl says. By Jocelyn Vena Dave Grohl Photo: Gareth Cattermole/ Getty Images The Foo Fighters are the latest rock stars taking aim at “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy. In a new interview, Dave Grohl says that Murphy shouldn’t complain when bands don’t want to include their music on his hit Fox show. The “Glee” creator has butted heads with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and had an epic war of words with Kings of Leon . Now the Foos are speaking out. “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do f—ing ‘Glee,'” Grohl told The Hollywood Reporter. “And then the guy who created ‘Glee’ is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his f—ing show. … F— that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do ‘Glee.’ … I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing.” The band’s frontman isn’t the only Fighter who isn’t into the show. Drummer Taylor Hawkins feels the same as his bandmate. “The ‘Glee’ guy, what a f—ing jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns N’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate f—ing musicals. It’s worse than “Grease.” ‘ Then [Murphy’s] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed-up ol’ rock star, that’s what they f—ing do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little assholes.’ And it’s just like, dude, maybe not everyone loves ‘Glee,’ ” Hawkins said. “Me included. … Yeah, f— that sh–.” Related Artists Foo Fighters

First-round voting set to close Sunday at midnight. By James Montgomery Foo Fighters Photo: MTV News The Foo Fighters entered the 2011 Musical March Madness tournament as the top seed in the meaty Midwest region, and, so far, they’ve lived up to that high billing, totally dominating their over-matched first-round opponents, 16th-seeded the Damned Things . Vote for your favorite bands now over on the Newsroom blog. With voting on opening-round matchups set to close Sunday at midnight, the Foos hold a commanding 73-27 lead over the Damned Things (who were rallying the troops early) , all but ensuring them a spot in the second round of our tournament. And though they’re poised to move one step closer to hoisting the championship trophy , the Foos remain remarkably nonplussed about not only their title hopes, but the entire MMM bracket, for that matter. “That sounds like exercise or something,” Foos frontman Dave Grohl replied when asked about Musical March Madness. “And ‘bracket’ sounds like ‘brisket’ to me. Sort of makes me want to eat something.” It bears mention that Grohl said this one day after the Foo Fighters kicked off the South by Southwest Music Festival with a raucous surprise set at the Austin, Texas, BBQ shack/venue Stubb’s , which probably explains why he had brisket on the brain. But still, with a field of competitors that still includes heavyweights like 30 Seconds to Mars , Linkin Park and Panic! at the Disco , you’d think the Foos would a least be looking ahead to the tournament’s later rounds. But, again, you’d be wrong. Instead of looking forward, the Foo Fighters are looking backward. Seems, if anything, their Musical March Madness success has stirred up some painful childhood memories — certainly a first in the illustrious two-year history of the tourney. “[It] makes me think of walking down the hallway in high school and being called ‘f–‘ by all the jocks,” guitarist Chris Shiflett said, laughing. “You now what though?” drummer Taylor Hawkins added. “If you saw a picture of Chris in high school, you’d understand.” Will the Foos survive to stir up more bad thoughts for Shiflett? Or will they be felled by one of their fellow titans? Well, that’s really up to you, isn’t it? Voting is now open in all first-round matchups over on the Newsroom blog and closes Sunday night. May the best band win, even if it pains them to do so. MTV’s Musical March Madness tournament is back! Voting on all first-round matchups continues until Sunday, at which point we’ll move on to the second round of the action. All winners are determined by your votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM — but get ready, it’s gonna be a war. Related Photos Bands Hit The Court For MTV’s 2011 Musical March Madness

Diddy Doesn’t Get ‘Caught Up’ In Forbes Hip-Hop List

‘People think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement,’ Diddy tells MTV News of topping ‘wealthiest in hip-hop’ list. By D.L. Chandler Diddy Dirty-Money Photo: MTV News Everything Diddy touches turns to gold — or millions, in this case. The mogul with the Midas touch has topped yet another list — but it isn’t due to record sales for his new group Diddy-Dirty Money. Sean Combs tops Forbes ‘ list of the wealthiest hip-hop entertainers , with his $475 million besting Roc Nation mogul Jay-Z by a mere $25 million. Diddy spoke with MTV News about his inclusion on the list, flanked by his Dirty Money beauties, Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper. “To be honest, on that list, I was on the cover of Forbes back in ’98,” Diddy said. “I been on that list. I don’t really get caught up into the list. I think people think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement.” The figure, according to Forbes, includes current holdings and past earnings from public financial documents. Diddy confirmed that by humbly stating that, in order to have that manner of cash on hand, he would need to sell off all his companies and assets, something he takes great pride in. “It’s really like if I sold all my companies, and I take pride in [building] something as a black man that’s worth that much,” Diddy said, but he added a warning with a laugh: “To everyone calling me for a loan today, I do not have that money today!” Diddy and Jay are definitely not at war over the top spot on Forbes ‘ list. In fact, Diddy hopes people are motivated by their success. “It helps inspire people and it shows the power of hip hop,” Diddy said. Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Birdman round out the top five. Foo Fighters Fans Are ‘People Who Dig Rock Music,’ Dave Grohl Says

‘There’s not one particular demographic,’ he tells MTV News during their ‘MTV First’ premiere of ‘Rope.’ By Vaughn Schoonmaker, with reporting by James Montgomery Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Photo: MTV News The Foo Fighters came to one lucky fan’s house Thursday for “MTV First,” where they premiered their “Rope” video and answered questions submitted on Twitter and in person. When MTV News’ James Montgomery asked the band about their fanbase, lead singer Dave Grohl described the diversity of those who fill up stadiums when the band is on tour. “There’s not one particular demographic. It’s just people who dig rock music,” Dave noted. “When we play gigs, it’s a trip to stand there and look at the audience, because there’ll be kids, like 5- or 6-year-old kids, and then there’ll be like full-on mustache dads. And then there’ll be like crazy MILF drunk mamas.” The Foo Fighters certainly treasure their fans, both new and vintage. “We still get new fans and then we still have some that saw Nirvana. So to me it’s really awesome, because we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our fans.” As far as what the average Foo Fighters fan may be like, there’s certainly a lack of paparazzi stampedes and screaming teenagers. “I think we have a cool relationship with [our fans],” Dave smiled. “Like when people see us, they don’t go, ‘Oh my God! It’s the Foos!’ They’ll just be like, ‘Hey, Dave, what’s up?’ and I’m like, ‘Do I know that guy?’ So I never say, ‘It’s nice to meet you.’ I always say, ‘It’s nice to see you.’ ” Dave also spoke of his recent discovery of a vast and enthusiastic population of Foos fans in South America, when he joined Twitter. “One of the first things I noticed when I first tweeted is that like 98 percent of the people on Twitter live in Argentina and Brazil,” Dave said. “I [tweeted] a picture of the tape machines, and 50 percent of the responses were like, ‘Come to Argentina!’ ‘Come to Brazil!’ ‘Come to Chile!’ ” The South American fans have already made quite an impression on the Foo Fighters. As Dave recalled, “We had this one knob on the mixing deck that we made the ‘grunge’ knob, so we turned it up to 11 and took a picture of it, and someone from Argentina wrote, ‘Never too grungy!’ And so that became this catchphrase that we use.” Do you count yourself among the Foo Fighters’ eclectic fanbase? Foo Fighters Go VHS For Brand-New ‘Rope’ Video

‘It’s not important for us to make videos, but it’s fun to make videos,’ Dave Grohl says regarding the new clip. By James Montgomery The Foo Fighters Photo: Steve Gullick Over the course of their 15-year career, the Foo Fighters have made no shortage of truly memorable music videos. From the Mentos-spoofing “Big Me” and the costumed-and-campy “Learn to Fly” to more serious, somber clips like “Everlong” and “My Hero,” they’ve carved out a rather unique niche in the rock world: They are the go-to guys for iconic clips … and they have been for some time. So, with the premiere of their new “Rope” video set to bow on Thursday at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, we decided to ask the Foos about their rather impressive video past … and how they’ve managed to establish themselves as masters of the genre — goofy moustaches or not. As it turns out, the secret to the rockers’ success has a whole lot to do with not taking themselves — or the format — all that seriously. “It’s not important for us to make videos, but it’s fun to make videos. I like making videos,” frontman Dave Grohl said. “So, I don’t know if bands have to make videos [these days], but I think it’s cool. I’ve always liked making videos.” Of course, in an era where YouTube has changed the way fans view music videos, the entire concept of breaking the bank for an eye-catching clip is practically extinct. So rather than slowly die off, the Foos have embraced the DIY aesthetic … as evidenced by their recent, shot-on-VHS “White Limo” video and “Rope,” which Grohl revealed was also captured on old-school tape. But instead of being bummed by shrinking production values, Grohl and Co. have gone all-in … and they’re pleased with the results. “Nowadays, if we go play in a club and someone has a video phone, they film it and then they put it on YouTube and it becomes a video,” Grohl said. “The distribution of any of that information or images, it goes out everywhere, like that. … That’s f—ing rad.” The Foo Fighters’ “Rope” video premieres live at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on Thursday on MTV and MTV.com, followed by an exclusive Q&A session from one lucky Foo fan’s house to be live-streamed on MTV.com. Fans can submit questions via Twitter ( @MTVNews using hashtag #askfoos ). Related Videos Gearing Up For The Foo Fighters’ ‘Rope’ Video Premiere Related Artists Foo Fighters
