‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ Trailer: 5 Key Scenes

Kristen Stewart is ‘fairest of them all’ and kicking serious butt in new sneak peek. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart in “Snow White and The Huntsman” Photo: Universal With most of our Kristen Stewart focus zeroed in on a little movie called “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” which opens next week, she has an equally intriguing film coming down the pike this summer — “Snow White and the Huntsman” — the trailer for which was unveiled Thursday (November 10) by Apple . No matter what you might have been expecting, given Stewart’s comments about the film or production photos that were released, this trailer is a doozy and completely delivers on the intense, warrior-esque elements that have been teased. Here are our five favorite scenes: 1. Charlize Theron Kills It as the Evil Queen From the second you hear her eerily intense and foreboding voice, to the shots of her mindless murders, to the last shot of the trailer — in which she swoops her exquisite black cloak about her and it turns into a flock of crows — Theron delivers in every sense of the word. It’s going to be fun to watch her Queen and Stewart’s Snow White go toe-to-toe! 2. The Mirror on the Wall Most of us are familiar with the classic fairy tale upon which this film is based, and while the Mirror is indeed an important part of the story, it can come off a bit campy, depending on the visual effects used to design it. This mirror is just so cool/creepy! When summoned by the Queen via that famous phrase — “Mirror mirror, on wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” — the mirror seems to melt into a puddle of bronze liquid on the floor and then reshapes itself into a hooded, appropriately deep-voiced figure. 3. Stewart Looking Fierce and Kicking Butt We had a pretty good idea Stewart’s version of the “fairest of them all” would be different, based on the photo of her in fancy armor and holding a sword, and now, we have even more proof that Stewart’s Snow White is pretty badass. Never does she look innocent or weak, whether on the run, defending herself in armor or confronting a fearsome, growling beast. 4. Chris Hemsworth Is a Perfect Huntsman “Find me someone who doesn’t fear the dark forest to hunt her down,” the Queen commands, her voice heard over our first glimpse of Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, wielding an ax and fighting in the forest, which is followed by several other shots of Hemsworth in action, getting down and dirty in battle. It’s a perfect deviation from that pretty-boy Asgardian prince Thor, if we do say so ourselves. 5. Brief Glimpses of the Supporting Players Even though the title of the film is “Snow White and the Huntsman,” there are plenty more players in the mix of this fractured fairy tale. Specifically our brief glimpses of Prince Charming, played by “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” star Sam Claflin, who we see both in battle and leaning down to kiss Snow White. Then there are the eight dwarves. Eight, not seven, according to what Stewart revealed to Jay Leno recently, whom we only see for extremely brief moments in the trailer, first walking together, single-file, on the top of a rolling hill, then following behind the Huntsman. Madonna Delays ‘W.E’ Release To 2012

Pop star’s film will have a one-week theatrical run starting December 9. By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: Getty It’s been a big week for Madonna news. A version of her song “Give Me All Your Love,” off her still-in-the-works next album, leaked, much to the Queen of Pop’s dismay. And now comes word that her film “W.E.” won’t hit theaters until next year. Directed by Madonna, “W.E.” was originally slated to open around the holiday season on December 9, but now it will have only a limited, one-week run beginning on that date before opening wide on February 3, the Weinstein Company confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. The short theatrical debut does, however, qualify the film for any awards-show consideration. The new February 3 release date would also coincide with a February 5 Super Bowl performance that Madge is rumored to be planning. In September, the singer screened the film at the Venice Film Festival to mixed reviews. “W.E.” follows the love story between American divorcee Wallis Simpson and Britain’s Prince Edward, as well as that of a modern-day woman (played by Abbie Cornish) obsessed with the couple. In addition to “W.E.,” Madonna is set to release her album in the spring. Along with production assistance from Ray of Light producer William Orbit , rumor has it that both Nicki Minaj and rapper M.I.A. will make guest appearances. “Madonna has phenomenal understanding of both the minutiae of music and the big picture. Zooming in, zooming out. 4ever amazing. Plus VISION!!!” Orbit recently tweeted about the highly anticipated record. “Working with Madonna is a treat. Fantastic tracks and vibes. Going deep. She’s ON IT !!! This is THE album!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Related Artists Madonna

‘Immortals’ Is Not ‘Just A Guy Movie,’ Henry Cavill Says

‘It’s a visual spectacle, and the 3-D only adds to that,’ actor says of film, in theaters Friday. By Kara Warner Henry Cavill in “The Immortals” Photo: Universal Pictures For lovers of big-budget, sweeping Greek hero-based epics, the stylized, intense and slightly foreboding promotional campaign for “Immortals” should have already convinced you to get thee to a theater stat when the film opens on Friday. However, for those who might shy away from blood and gore, the stars of the film insist there is a lot more going on in “Immortals” than in typical testosterone-fueled swords-and-sandals flicks. “People are going to think it’s just a guy movie. It’s gonna be all just about violence and it is just for guys,” Henry Cavill , who plays demi-god Theseus, told MTV News recently. “This is entirely different. This has that very strong aspect, which all guys are going to love, the sort of blood and gore and swords and fighting, but it’s so beautifully done. This is Tarsem Singh we’re talking about here, it’s a visual spectacle, and the 3-D only adds to that. “I will say in the past I’ve been skeptical of [3-D, but] after seeing this, the technology has come along so far. This is incredible, and all the violence in the movie, if people don’t like that, it’s actually art-ified,” he explained. “It becomes a ‘beautific’ ballet of blood if you will. That all aside, it’s an incredible love story as well. You often think of these Greek epics — it skirts over all that stuff — but you’ve got an incredibly hardened man who’s hardened his heart to anything at this stage, and there’s a woman who manages to soften him so much so that he starts to think of things which he’s never even considered in the past.” Cavill’s co-stars were equally enthusiastic in their recommendations. “It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen,” Luke Evans , who plays Zeus, added. “Like Henry said, Tarsem at the helm with his imagination and his enthusiasm and his ideas, it just married so well with what he was doing and the final production. The values of it are just incredible, and we’ve got this 3-D thing and it just comes alive, it really does.” “I think it’s a different take on the whole Greek mythology and that’s going to be the biggest surprise,” Freida Pinto , who plays the “chosen” oracle Phaedra, said. “Visually it’s not like anything, it’s not like any of the big-budget action-packed films that you’ve seen before.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Immortals.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Will You Be Watching?? MSNBC To Air The Documentary Conrad “Murder” Murray Shot While On Trial

Only in America… Executors for the estate of Michael Jackson demanded Wednesday that MSNBC drop its plan to air a “reprehensible” documentary that promises a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the singer’s relationship with Dr. Conrad Murray, but which they charged smears the late pop icon. In a letter to MSNBC President Phil Griffin and the cable channel’s corporate overseers, the Jackson representatives argued that Murray, convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, uses the documentary “to shift the blame post-conviction to Michael Jackson, even though a jury considered the evidence and rejected this very argument.” MSNBC purchased “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship” from a British production company and plans to air it Friday and Monday night, along with an “exclusive” interview with Murray by NBC News correspondent Savannah Guthrie. A Los Angeles Superior Court jury convicted Murray for administering propofol, a surgical anesthetic, to Jackson and then failing to monitor the pop star as he stopped breathing. MSNBC representatives had said earlier that the cable channel did not pay for access to Murray or contribute to his legal defense. The producer of the documentary, October Films, said it paid only $1 for two years of access to Murray and a behind-the-scenes look at his legal defense. Representatives of MSNBC and October Films said they did not know what arrangements might have been made by the film’s distributor, Zodiak Rights. Zodiak representatives could not be reached. The Jackson family representatives questioned whether additional payments were made to Murray. “Was it really only $1, or was it more?” said a letter from John Branca and John McClain, who are co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate. Do you think MSNBC is wrong for showing the doc? Or is it just waaaaaay too soon? Source More On Bossip! Shhhh! Embarrassing Secrets That Damn Near Ruined These People’s Careers And Lives! R.I.P. Tyler Perry Fans Enraged Over Kim Kardashian Casting In “The Marriage Counselor”

View original post here:

It seems the chickens have come home to roost. Tyler Perry fans are none too happy over his choice of casting soon-to-be-divorced reality “star” Kim Kardashian in his latest project, The Marriage Counselor . Two weeks ago Perry announced Kardashian had been chosen to play Ava, a co-worker of Judith (Jurnee Smollett), an Ivy League educated therapist who decides to step outside of her marriage to spice up her life. Fans of the prolific director immediately took to the message boards, denouncing Perry’s choice of someone they feel to be morally questionable. In light of Kardashian recently announcing her divorce from Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage, Perry’s fans are even more enraged. Below are some comments from TylerPerry.com : “Mr. Perry I’ve loved your work, BUT I won’t be buying a ticket or DVD of any work featuring a reality TV personality, no matter whom. Heretofore your work has been focused and professional. As a theater professional I believe your work on stage and in film has benefited the arts community. I can think of no greater insult to arts professionals than to use a person who has no training or experience; any project including these individuals is simply cashing in on a notoriety built on disgusting displays of narcissistic self-indulgence. Please do not validate this debasement of entertainment media by employing this artless cretin” “I can tell by his comment to his fans about this woman being in this film that he is just like any other typical person when they get a lil money they start to get greedy. he does not care about his fans but about his money so if he is willing to let this one person ruin his while film then so be it. how can u let someone whose whole background is negative and gets a divorce 72 days after you get married. how is that supposed to be something positive and uplifting to your audience. that is jusy selffish to me and i believe he knows that. smh i would have picked beyonce. she is a positive role model right now” “So disappointed in you and your decision to keep Kim K. in your movie. I guess it is all about making it big at the box office, but money and popularity shouldn’t be an objective means to anything. I will not support this movie and I will tell everyone who I know not to support it as well. Sorry, but if you are going to forget the people who help you get to where you are and make such a horrendous mistake as this then you don’t deserve my time nor money. Truly not a fan anymore because what you beginning to stand for is not right.” What say you readers? Are these disgruntled fans correct in their assessment that Tyler Perry is going over to the “dark side” by casting a reality star? Or is Perry’s casting choice a clever marketing ploy to garner media attention? Share your opinions in comments section below. Jonah Hill To Sit Down For ‘MTV First: The Sitter’

Hill will introduce an exclusive clip from the babysitting caper before a 30-minute chat Thursday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. By Eric Ditzian Jonah Hill in “The Sitter” Photo: 20th Century Fox Our first extended opportunity to chat with Jonah Hill came in the summer of 2005, when we met up with the then largely unknown actor and his co-star Justin Long on the set of “Accepted.” “I wouldn’t say we’re the next Farley and Spade,” Hill told MTV News of his onscreen collaboration with Long. “I would say we’re the next Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna.” And so the comedic gauntlet was thrown down. Hill has been making us laugh ever since, cracking us up during interviews and bringing the funny in “Superbad,” “Cyrus,” “Get Him to the Greek” and many more. To celebrate his latest, “The Sitter,” and because we just have such a good time talking with Hill, we’re very proud to announce “MTV First: The Sitter,” an exclusive sit-down with the actor. On Thursday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV, Hill and MTV News’ Josh Horowitz will take over the airwaves, where they’ll introduce a previously unseen clip from the film and chat for a bit before continuing the conversation online for a full 30 minutes. Directed by David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express”), Hill stars in the new movie as a reluctant babysitter who takes three kids into New York City because he’d rather meet up with his girlfriend than stay stuck in the suburbs. Not such a wise decision, as it turns out drug deals, car crashes and general debauchery take hilarious precedence over more mundane babysitting activities. The movie also stars Max Records, Ari Graynor, Method Man , JB Smoove and Sam Rockwell. During the “MTV First,” we’ll not only talk about “The Sitter,” but also have Jonah analyze some of the best cinematic babysitters in history, answer your Twitter questions and dish on the very latest news about Hill’s upcoming adaptation of “21 Jump Street.” Join Jonah Hill for “MTV First: The Sitter” on Thursday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV!
