View this post on Instagram In Spring of 2012, I got the opportunity of a lifetime – Pauletta “Mary Jane” Patterson came into my life. In many ways we shared similar struggles and triumphs, loves and losses, and especially the penchant for epic reads. Finally, so many of us saw our beautifully complicated and rich lives as we tuned into @BETMaryJane. We've laughed, cried, cried some more, screamed, rolled our eyes, sucked our teeth, walked away and come back in frustration… whether we acknowledged it or rejected it, she at times was us, and we were her. Tomorrow night our #BeingMaryJane journey comes to an end. I hope yall tune in and see how it all ends. I will miss playing her, but more than that, I will miss our cast, Atlanta crew, LA writers and each and every fan who watched our show. We are grateful and we are humbled. We yall and we never took you for granted. We apologize for the delay but we are here and ready to snatch wigs and moisturize elbows. Get ready! Will You Be Watching? BET Is Revoking Black Cards January 18

(Karen Ballard/BET) BOSSIP Hit The Scene For BET’s New Show ‘Black Card Revoked.’ Have you ever joked around with your friends and they told you your Black Card has been revoked? What if we told you it’s not just a phrase but a card game that people play? Now, thanks to BET, it’s also a show. The new game show which is hosted by comedic actor Tony Rock, premieres on BET January 18th. The show is also Executive Produced by David A. Hurwitz. The 30 minute, 12 episode season was shot in Los Angeles and Bossip hit the scene to see the season finale in action. ( Karen Ballard/BET) “I’ll come back and host as long as the show is around,” Tony Rock told BOSSIP. “It’s a great show and I know people are going to enjoy it.” (Karen Ballard/BET) When BOSSIP visited, Blac Chyna, DeRay Davis and LeToya Luckett were on set to test their blackness. They each had a contestant on their team who had the chance to win up to $10,000. The audience voted by a round of applause and there was only one person who got to keep their black card. Though we can’t tell you who won, we can tell you it was hilariously black. The show has 3 rounds of trivia that is pulled from the card game and real-life surveys. It’s a blended, fun mix of pop culture, politics, historic facts and entertainment. If you think you have what it takes to keep your black card, tune into BET every Thursday at 10/9c.

Will You Be Watching?? MSNBC To Air The Documentary Conrad “Murder” Murray Shot While On Trial

Only in America… Executors for the estate of Michael Jackson demanded Wednesday that MSNBC drop its plan to air a “reprehensible” documentary that promises a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the singer’s relationship with Dr. Conrad Murray, but which they charged smears the late pop icon. In a letter to MSNBC President Phil Griffin and the cable channel’s corporate overseers, the Jackson representatives argued that Murray, convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, uses the documentary “to shift the blame post-conviction to Michael Jackson, even though a jury considered the evidence and rejected this very argument.” MSNBC purchased “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship” from a British production company and plans to air it Friday and Monday night, along with an “exclusive” interview with Murray by NBC News correspondent Savannah Guthrie. A Los Angeles Superior Court jury convicted Murray for administering propofol, a surgical anesthetic, to Jackson and then failing to monitor the pop star as he stopped breathing. MSNBC representatives had said earlier that the cable channel did not pay for access to Murray or contribute to his legal defense. The producer of the documentary, October Films, said it paid only $1 for two years of access to Murray and a behind-the-scenes look at his legal defense. Representatives of MSNBC and October Films said they did not know what arrangements might have been made by the film’s distributor, Zodiak Rights. Zodiak representatives could not be reached. The Jackson family representatives questioned whether additional payments were made to Murray. “Was it really only $1, or was it more?” said a letter from John Branca and John McClain, who are co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate. Do you think MSNBC is wrong for showing the doc? Or is it just waaaaaay too soon? Source More On Bossip! Shhhh! Embarrassing Secrets That Damn Near Ruined These People’s Careers And Lives! R.I.P. For The 80s Babies: The Original “GhostBusters” Will Be Back In Theaters Next Month!!!

Finally! Someone has figured out that we can introduce a new generation to 80s classics without the unnecessary remakes! Sony/Columbia has announced via the official Facebook fan page that the original 1984 Ghostbusters will be returning this theaters in October. “It’s time to get your cats and dogs together and prepare for mass hysteria: This October, for the first time in over 25 years, the original and unforgettable Ghostbusters makes its triumphant return to theaters!” There isn’t a full announcement available yet with info on the exact release date, theater information, or any other details, but considering the Facebook page has been hyping it up for a few weeks (with the tagline “MASS HYSTERIA!”), I think this is going to be a big re-release. Digital Spy is claiming that Ghostbusters will hit “cinemas worldwide this Halloween as an all-new digitally-restored release.” There’s also a new video on their Facebook that shows the original trailer with a tag at the end about the upcoming re-release, so it’s definitely happening this Halloween, potentially worldwide. Rumor has it this re-release is just to prep us for “Ghostbusters III.” Will you be checking this out? Source
