He has a film and album coming out in August, and the King of the South just finished an extensive shoot for his clothing line, Akoo, with guest Donnis. “The direction of the clothing line, in my eyes, is upscale urban apparel,” Tip said, sitting in the Ace Hotel. “I just wanna continue to diversify. That’s my idealistic outcome.” Tip, Donnis and a slew of beautiful women were showing off the company’s fall lines. “It’s all gonna be comfortable,” Tip said of his clothes. “Everything is gonna be comfortable, casual. To me, we got V-neck tees, crew-neck tees, wovens. Denim is a big part of the lines. We actually pride ourselves on the quality of our denim, especially at the price point we at. We got fleece. We got a lot of imagery, distinctive imagery on our pieces, that sets us apart from everything else going on out there.” Tip even showed off one of the Akoo bags, like the one he gave Larry King last week while visiting his show . Tip’s new album, King Uncaged, comes out August 17, while his film “Takers” drops August 20. Stephenie Meyer Invites ‘Twilight’ Fan Sites To Personal ‘Eclipse’ Junket

Author hopes the new setup will bring more in-depth questions than mainstream press. By Kara Warner Stephenie Meyer Photo: ABC/ Oprah.com “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer announced a rather surprising publicity move Monday (May 17): She will be hosting her own press junket to promote the upcoming release of “Eclipse.” According to the letter she posted on her website , Meyer explained that she wants to offer her fans something different for this movie release, so she is inviting four lucky “Twilight” fan sites to her own “mini-junket” on Friday, June 18, the week before the film’s L.A. premiere. “For Twilight, I did the normal press junket, for New Moon I got to go on Oprah,” she wrote. “Both of these were fun, exciting experiences. However, they both had the same drawback — the interviews were designed for a very broad audience, and because of that, most of the questions were about things you guys have known the answers to for years.” Meyer said she wants her junket to instead focus on in-depth, specific questions from the readers about the “Eclipse” movie, as well as her “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” novella, out June 5. The lucky U.S. fan sites picked by Meyer at random out of a hat (of which the author posted photos on her site) are: Twilight Series Theories , Twilight Source , Twifans and Letters to Twilight . The websites may send one representative plus one guest. Meyer said she drew four replacement sites to be put on a waiting list, should one of the four selected be unable to attend. “We’ll have lunch, hang out, and hopefully have a fantastic time,” Meyer promised. “I hope you all can make it! -Steph” What do you think about Stephenie’s new approach to “Eclipse” promotion? Will Justin Bieber Be In ‘Valentine’s Day’ Sequel ‘New Year’s Eve’?

‘They keep mentioning this Justin Bieber,’ director Garry Marshall says of getting the teen star onboard. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Michael Buckner/Getty Images With a release date set for “New Year’s Eve,” the sequel to “Valentine’s Day,” director Garry Marshall admits he has Bieber fever. The original romantic comedy cast superstar musician Taylor Swift , and Marshall’s team is trying to get another pop sensation onboard for the December 9, 2011, flick. “Already, they’re mentioning Justin Bieber ,” Marshall told MTV News about possible casting. “I have no idea who that is, but I’m sure we’ll meet.” Marshall said the film is moving along nicely. “I have a script,” he revealed. “I did a rewrite. We’re rewriting it now. … It’s supposed to shoot in New York in September. It’s supposed to be a similar cast of a number of stars. It’s written like that, but we hope to get all new stars except for Hector Elizondo, who has to be in all my movies. So he’s gonna play a guy you’ll never recognize.” A bevy of Hollywood heavyweights appeared in the original flick, but Marshall said there is still plenty of star power left in Hollywood for the next installment. “I had to call on a lot of friendships, but we still have other friends,” he said. “I hope Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry. I love the girls. I work well with women. I’m a Scorpio. I’m Italian. I grew up with sisters and I have daughters, so I like women. What can I tell you? And I like making them funny, but we’ll see who we get. Nobody is set yet. “Except I hear they keep mentioning this Justin Bieber,” he continued. “Perhaps I’d better see who he is, so when he arrives on set, possibly [we can talk]. So we’ll see.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ Films Being Prepped By Two Studios

David Fincher is in talks with Disney, while ‘Wanted’ helmer Timur Bekmambetov may direct for Fox. By Adam Rosenberg David Fincher Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/ Getty Images Two competing undersea voyages are being prepped for Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” One belongs to Disney, with “The Social Network” director David Fincher in talks to helm and “Bourne Ultimatum” writer Scott Z. Burns pegged to develop the script. Elsewhere in Hollywood, Fox is prepping its own adventure with Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus; sibling filmmakers Ridley and Tony Scott will produce and Timur Bekmambetov (“Wanted”) is in talks to direct. The classic sci-fi/adventure novel was on the fast track for a McG-directed Disney adaptation until late last year, when the “Terminator Salvation” helmer departed after the project was put on hold indefinitely. The Hollywood Reporter ‘s Heat Vision blog reveals that Fincher approached the studio’s new production head, Sean Bailey, some weeks ago about the project. Fox’s project is further along, as Heat Vision blog also reports that Fincher and Burns have yet to finalize any deals. The Scotts are working with “Clash of the Titans” co-writer Scott Beacham now on developing a script. Bekmambetov isn’t confirmed, but given that Disney doesn’t yet have a script nailed down, Fincher will likely direct another film before he dives down “Under the Sea.” There are no concerns over the rights to adapting “20,000 Leagues” because it’s in the public domain; anyone can work with it. The tone of Disney’s take is unknown, but it is believed that the Fox version would shift from a period setting to a futuristic one. It’s worth noting that this bears a resemblance to another adaptation that Bekmambetov has spoken about, a complete with a supernaturally talented whale and psychic-powered whalers. ‘Robin Hood’ Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

We take you inside Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe’s reinvention of the folk hero. By Eric Ditzian “Robin Hood” Photo: Universal Their collaborations have taken them across the globe and through the fabric of time, from ancient Rome to French wine country to the drug-filled streets of ’70s-era New York to the hidden world of government espionage. Back and forth, back and forth Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott have gone with “Gladiator,” “A Good Year,” “American Gangster” and “Body of Lies.” For their fifth movie together, they’re headed back in time again — way back to the 12th century. It’s in this time period — a moment during which England was undergoing often violent social, political and economic upheaval — that they choose to set “Robin Hood,” a sort of origin story of the folkloric champion of the common man. MTV News has been following this project from its origins as well, bringing you development updates, casting news, trailers, clips and interviews with the cast and crew. Now that the film is due in theaters on Friday (May 14), we bring you everything you need to know about “Robin Hood” with another edition of MTV News’ big-screen cheat sheet. From ‘Nottingham’ to the ‘Hood’ Back in summer 2007, Scott had plans for a film called “Nottingham” that would feature the iconic sheriff facing off against a Robin Hood cast as the bad guy. “L.A. Confidential” writer Brian Helgeland was tapped to write the screenplay. Producer Brian Grazer called it the ” ‘Gladiator’ version of Robin Hood” and cast Crowe as the sheriff. A year later, the project took a wacky turn, when Scott told MTV News that Crowe would be playing both the Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood . But wait! Months later Grazer told us that Crowe would play a version of Robin who takes over the identity of Nottingham after he dies early in the film. But … but … wait! By February 2009, the project had shifted again. It was now called “Robin Hood” and would tell its story strictly from that title character’s point of view. Got it? Crowe is Robin and he faces off against Nottingham, just as the folklore tells us. Populating Sherwood Forest With the plot specifics locked down, Scott began to build the rest of his cast. Cate Blanchett signed on to play Robin’s love interest, Maid Marion. Mark Strong was cast as one of the king’s enforcers, William Hurt came onboard as a legendary knight named the 1st Earl of Pembroke, and Danny Huston became the nefarious King John. Filming kicked off in late March 2009, and by the end of the year, the first trailer popped up online. It was filled with plenty of creepily dark forests, an eerie soundtrack and a sneak peek at some truly badass action scenes. The scope of the movie was clearly enormous. A second trailer — showcasing more action and a heady dose of storytelling — dropped online in March. We also found out the film would open the 63rd Cannes Film Festival . Meet Your New Folk Hero Before Crowe and Scott took their film to the Mediterranean, we got a look at a slew of fresh clips: the King’s ill-advised taxation scheme , Robin’s introduction of his blushing new bride , a nighttime ambush in the forest , a peek into Robin’s childhood and one wicked horse-and-sword battle scene . The director and actor also sat down with MTV News to take us inside the process of creating their fresh take on the well-known Robin Hood story. “I just wouldn’t have done it if it were a conventional take,” Crowe told us . “There’s no need for anyone in the world to see that series of clich

‘Letters To Juliet’ Star Amanda Seyfried Loves Playing ‘In Love’

Moviegoers are ‘gonna see love happen,’ actress tells MTV News of the film. By Jocelyn Vena Amanda Seyfried Photo: MTV News Amanda Seyfried loves a good love story. But while the “Letters to Juliet” star connected to the romance in the film, she was also moved by the Italian countryside that provides the setting. “They’re gonna see some aesthetically inspiring stuff. It’s a beautiful city. It’s it’s own character in the movie,” Seyfried told MTV News of the Verona, Italy, setting . “They’re gonna see love happen.” In the flick, Sophie (Seyfried) travels to Verona, where she finds a letter written a half-century earlier by a woman named Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) and convinces the older woman to come in search of her long-lost love, Lorenzo. “It’s a romantic movie. It’s a fairytale kind of love and, you know what? It’s really hard not to be inspired by watching two people love each other over the span of 50 years,” she said. “And keep that flame alive inside of their bodies. It’s crazy what love can do for you or for anybody. As an actor and as an audience member, I love playing ‘in love,’ and I love watching it.” Seyfried said that unattached or recently single moviegoers who might be scared off by all the relationship stuff should still come out for the flick. “I love being in love, obviously, but we’re not all so lucky to be in love,” she added. “It’s nice to get it in little pieces in movies or TV or in songs … in paintings.” Comparing herself to her character, Sophie , the actress admitted to being a hard-core romantic. “I’d fly anywhere for somebody if I loved them,” she explained. “There are no boundaries. There are some things I wouldn’t do. I wouldn’t kill for love, for sure, but I would do anything positive for love. I would do it.” Do you believe in the kind of everlasting love depicted in “Letters to Juliet”? Tell us in the comments!
