Lindsay Lohan Celebrates Throwback Thursday With Meryl Streep Photo, Reminds World She Used to Have a Career

Lindsay Lohan may be done partying and dating these days, but she’s not done seeking approval and attention from strangers on the Internet. While other celebrities were paying their respects to Joan Rivers on Twitter, Lindsay took to Instagram yesterday to subtly (in her mind) remind us that she was once an in-demand actress with a promising career ahead of her: That’s Lindsay with Meryl Streep doing a magazine shoot for the film A Prairie Home Companion in which they co-starred. Yes, Lindsay Lohan used to get cast in acclaimed films alongside esteemed actresses. It’s probably no coincidence that Lindsay chose to bring this long-forgotten fact to our attention the same day that Rivers died, as Linds was a favorite target of Rivers’, whereas Streep…well, everyone loves Meryl Streep. In fact, Rivers wrote about Streep attending her funeral just a few months before she died. It’s interesting, but kinda depressing to see Linds try and get one over on us while simultaneously flipping off a recently deceased legend. It’s like when you’re taking care of someone else’s kid, and the they try to convince you that their parents totally let them have ice cream for dinner. They think they’re being clever, but they just don’t have the mental capacity to realize how obvious they are. It’s funny at first, and then kinda sad, because you realize this kid ain’t getting rocky road before bed any more than Lindsay Lohan is getting her career back.   17 Wackest Photos of Lindsay Lohan 1. Lindsay Lohan: Teeth This is not exactly Lindsay Lohan at her best. Then again, when was the last time we saw Lindsay Lohan at her best?

Jamie Dornan Deserves Oscar For Fifty Shades of Grey, Film’s Screenwriter Says

Jamie Dornan, Fifty Shades of Grey star and Academy Award winner? If you believe the screenwriter of the upcoming film, he should soon go by that name. 21 Hottest Jamie Dornan Photos 1. Jamie Dornan Shirtless Photo Jamie Dornan modeling shirtless. This is the actor who got the part of Christian Grey. What do you think? Kelly Marcel, who penned the upcoming Fifty Shades adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic novel, says Dornan’s performance is, without a doubt, Oscar worthy. “Apparently Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time,” Marcel said, stealing a phrase from Fifty Shades . “Which is hard to do for an actor!” Dornan’s presence and versatility as the film’s lead is so impressive that it deserves an award, according to Marcel, who added, “He’s going to get an Oscar!” It’s hard to tell if she’s serious, but she’s clearly a big fan. Marcel believes his turn as S&M-loving Christian Grey is powerful, nuanced and spectacular, she said during a Q&A on the Aslan’s Writer’s Room series. Fans and critics alike will be able to judge Dornan on more than just the Fifty Shades of Grey trailer when he hits the big screen in February 2015. Marcel also teased the famously boundary-pushing sexual content, which is reportedly teetering over an R-rating. Not that it won’t still be cheesy at times. Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer: 11 Best Moments 1. Whips and Handcuffs! Christian prepares to WORK Ana like you’d expect in a marvelous GIF from the Fifty Shares of Grey trailer. She quoted one of the memorable lines said by Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson) in Fifty Shades, which references Christian Grey’s “popsicle.” Marcel explained during her interview, “She says that, ‘You are my popsicle.’ That line went in, it’s genius. They apparently did that scene great.” Also great? This recent version of the trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey reenacted by kittens … and another one mashed up with Frozen characters.

Free Tilly! Sea World Earnings Plummet Following Release Of “Blackfish” Documentary

Time to shut it down Sea World! SeaWorld Stock Plummets Following “Blackfish” Documentary The release of “Blackfish” is taking it’s toll on mighty mighty SeaWorld, with backlash following the film putting a serious dent in the pockets of the execs who bankroll the orca park, which is now infamous for the terrible treatment of the animals and trainers who toil there. According to Financial Post reports: SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. dropped to a record low after reporting earnings that missed analysts’ estimates and saying controversy over the treatment of captive whales in its theme-park shows hurt attendance. The shares tumbled 32% to US$19.16 at 12:39 p.m. in New York after falling to US$19.30, the lowest since they started trading in April 2013. Before today, SeaWorld had retreated 23% in a year following the release of “Blackfish,” a critical documentary about one of its performing killer whales. The company acknowledged for the first time that pressure from animal-rights groups is reducing attendance, said Barton Crockett, an analyst at FBR & Co., calling second-quarter results “surprisingly weak.” The theme-park operator had tried to head off a proposed ban on keeping orcas in captivity in California with a lobbying campaign that raised doubts about claims that the animals are harmed in its parks. “Attendance in the quarter was impacted by demand pressures related to recent media attention surrounding proposed legislation in the state of California,” Orlando, Florida-based SeaWorld said today in a statement. SeaWorld expects revenue to decline as much 7% in 2014. Sales fell 1.5% to US$405.2 million last quarter, the company said, missing the US$445.2 million average of estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Earnings of 43 cents a share also trailed the average prediction of 58 cents. Before the controversy over “Blackfish,” SeaWorld sold shares at US$27 each in its April 2013 IPO. Blackstone Group LP, which controlled the theme-park operator, chose an initial public offering for SeaWorld, snubbing takeover bids from Apollo Global Management LLC and Onex Corp., because the firm expected an IPO to yield better returns over time than a sale, a person familiar with the matter said last year. Blackstone, which had owned all of SeaWorld’s equity, has since cut its stake to 22%, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. In response to the slowdown, the company has hired an adviser to identify ways to cut costs this year and next, SeaWorld Chief Executive Officer James Atchison said on a conference call today. The savings will be used to reinvest in new attractions and to increase stock buybacks. Amid lobbying by SeaWorld, a California legislative panel in April put off for at least a year a proposed measure that would ban whale breeding and the use of the animals for entertainment. We’re glad to hear there is legislation in the works — sucks that the lobbyists were able to keep the restrictions from going through though. Do you think it’s right to keep orcas in captivity and force them to perform for the public? Watch the “Blackfish” trailer below and tell us if you would still go to SeaWorld:

Terminator Reboot Title Released, Exceptionally Lame

Shooting on the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring reboot of Terminator has wrapped. But the Internet is now asking: Is it too late to reboot the movie’s title?!? The former California Governor released a photo on Instagram today that reveals the name of the fifth film in this franchise, while also mentioning it in an accompanying caption. “Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot,” Schwarzenegger wrote. Yes, the movie will apparently be titled  Terminator Genisys . We can only assume this is a reference to a company in the story and not a tragic misspelling. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding,” Schwarzenegger added. “From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. “I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.” Alan Taylor will direct the upcoming blockbuster, which also stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons and Matt Smith.
