The cast of Pitch Perfect 2 is officially in the swing of things. Check out this photo shared by Elizabeth Banks, who is directing the sequel in New Orleans: “365 days until Pitch Perfect 2 is released,” the 40-year-old wrote. In the pic, Banks, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, and others wear matching “Bellas” jackets, for their Barden Bellas singing team. Earlier, it was announced that newcomer / Taylor Swift BFF Steinfeld would be joining the film. “It’s official and I’m SO excited!!!!!! #PitchPerfect2,” she wrote. Banks, for her part, has tried to keep tight-lipped about it. “All I can say right now is that they will be graduating seniors this time around, rather than freshmen,” the Hunger Games: Catching Fire star said last month. “I’m really excited to direct the girls. The whole project speaks so much to me and to women and to making women funny in really fun and interesting ways.” “I’m looking forward to letting the girls let loose.” So are we, even if we have to wait a whole year to see the finished product. Kenya Moore was beaten up by Porsha Williams during the filming of the latest Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show, and while that may be the worst thing to happen to Kenya that day, it wasn’t the only time she was made a victim. According to reports taken by the police officers who were called following the Moore-Williams fight, Kenya and her friend Lawrence were robbed of several thousand dollars worth of belongings including Kenya’s luggage and laptop. Nothing was taken from the dressing rooms of any of the other Housewives. Naturally, there has been much speculation that the burglars were in some way connected to Porsha. This, of course, is not the first or worst crime connected to RHOA today. Earlier, Apollo Nida pled guilty to fraud and could face several years in federal prison. Kenya has not yet commented on the robbery, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this latest misfortune has factored into her rumored decision to quit Real Housewives of Atlanta to attend Harvard . Oprah Winfrey shared a video of her 1983 audition for a Chicago daytime talk show on the OWN network today. It’s nearly impossible to believe the confident yet soft-spoken young woman in the clip below would go on to become one of the wealthiest and most admired people in America. In the audition clip she explains the story behind her first name, noting that even though Oprah is “Harpo” spelled backwards, there are no Marx Brothers fans in her family and her folks didn’t even own a TV. Turns out the moniker that’s now synonymous with media dominance is actually a misspelling of an obscure biblical name. Who knew! In introducing the clip, Oprah says she was “obsessed” with landing the hosting gig in Chicago and “stayed up all night” editing clips from her previous TV jobs to show to producers. Amazingly, Queen O says she was forced to pull the all-nighter because was unorganized in those days and hadn’t previously created a video resume like most of her colleagues. Well, it certainly seems like she’s got her stuff together these days. Maybe there’s hope for the rest of us after all!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Apollo Nida pleaded guilty to charges of mail, wire and bank fraud in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He could be going to jail for a long, long time. Apollo Nida’s crimes could land him in prison for up to 30 years and a fine of up to $1 million on top of restitution for an estimated $2.3 million he allegedly defrauded. His co-conspirator Gayla St. Julien, who said Nida ran the show and helped turn him in after she was arrested, has received a sentence of 61 months last month. Nida will be sentenced on July 8 at 2 p.m. The assistant U.S. attorney said Apollo opened a fake debt collection agency to gain access to databases full of individuals’ personal information. He would then steal people’s ID and find unclaimed funds , refunds from HUD, stolen treasury checks and refunds from fraudulent U.S. income tax returns. Nida had St. Julien open UPS mailboxes and bank checking accounts using those fake identities, deposit those checks, then pocket the money. So why would he do it when he’s already well taken care of by wife Phaedra Parks? Partly for that reason, he said in court. The pressure to keep up was intense! Nida said he takes “full responsibility for my actions” and expressed regret for hurting his family and any individuals and institutions affected by his fraud. Apollo Nida Pleads Guilty In ID Theft Scheme “It was a dumb situation I put myself in,” he said. In 2009, Nida had just left prison after five years for racketeering charges related to auto title fraud. He and Phaedra Parks , a prominent attorney, married. He said she was making far more than him and he felt pressure to keep up. Without easy legitimate ways to make quick money, he opted for this scheme. He said he even had a nervous breakdown at one point over the pressures to “sustain a lifestyle … I got sucked in and engulfed and lost sight of things,” he said. But he claimed to her he was running a legitimate debt recovery firm and kept her firmly in the dark. And once he started the scheme, he found it difficult to stop. Nida said he often didn’t think about whether this was hurting anybody because he was primarily targeting businesses and the government, not individuals. “It’s my fault at the end of the day,” he said. Since Nida is not expected to go to prison until July, when you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta next season, this will definitely play out on Bravo. The 1992 Hall of Fame classic Single White Female was part of a trend of early nineties flicks about stalkers and psycho females, and they don’t come much crazier or nuder than Jennifer Jason Leigh ! Jennifer showed off her sensational snoobs several times in the film, and her co-star Bridget Fonda showed off her ripe rump and dimly lit lobbers as well! Another Hall of Fame entry, Boys Don’t Cry , netted star Hilary Swank an Oscar and her co-star Chloe Sevigny a nomination, and it’s certainly not hard to see why! Sevigny bares her boobs during a sensational sapphic scene with Swank, and Hilary shows her mams and muff, though both of those scenes are difficult to watch.
