Fans Get A 1st Look At Diana’s New Costume In ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

Source: Warner Bros. Studios / Warner Bros. Studios To many, if not everyone, Wonder Woman’s appearance in the lackluster Batman V. Superman was the best part of the movie and many of those same people felt that Patty Jenkins’ standalone Wonder Woman film was the best film to come out of the DCEU. With one whole year to go before we find out what’s next for the Amazon princess in the highly anticipated sequel  Wonder Woman 1984 , Jenkins gave fans a sneak peak at the new armor she’ll be donning in the film and boy it’s a doozy. By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year. We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official  #WW84  campaign in full–  But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait… pic.twitter.com/QllFzhYRA6 — Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) June 5, 2019 Standing in a spectrum of vibrant rainbow colors (happy Pride Month!), the new Wonder Woman armor seems to be mainly gold (she is royalty) and covers way more of his physical degree than her previous costume. Many fans were quick to point out that her new duds seem to be inspired by Mark Waid and Alex Ross’s classic Kingdom Come series in which Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League find themselves retired from superhero life only to come out of retirement after the new generation of heroes ways of protecting becomes reckless and tragic. Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen as we’re sure Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will answer as many fans questions as possible at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, but until then all we can do is take in all this goodness and appreciate what Jenkins has done with the classic superhero thus far. Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters on June 5, 2020.

Sanaa Lathan Shares Why Shooting ‘Love And Basketball’ Was “Miserable” Experience For Her

Excerpt from:

Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty Though most people who watch  Love and Basketball  see it as the role that made Sanaa Lathan a star, looking back at it now, 19 years after the film’s release, the 47-year-old actress said shooting the project was a “miserable” experience. “ Gina [Prince-Bythewood] really wanted, and the producers, they really wanted a basketball player who could act as opposed to an actress who they could teach to play basketball,” she told LA’s KCAL, the CBS affiliate . However, that was very difficult to do, so while they worked hard to find basketball players who could possibly play Monica, they kept Sanaa around because they liked her reading of the part. She was sort of like a safety net, and because of that, she had to fight pretty hard to get the role. Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). “I would always get to the last step and they would throw in another basketball player,” she said. “They were giving the basketball players acting coaches.” While the basketball players were being taught to act in the hopes of filling the role, Sanaa, for some time, was left on her own to learn basketball. When she would go in for basketball auditions, she said it would go horribly. “Finally I demanded, ‘If you want me to continue, you’re going to have to get me a basketball coach because I hear you’re giving these basketball players acting coaches,’ and they did.” She ended up training five hours a day for a while before actually getting the job. When she did, she said she felt like she was somewhat unwanted, which is why filming, for her, wasn’t as enjoyable as people might have thought it was. “I was miserable [laughs]. I can laugh about it now,” she said. “I got the job and I think Gina finally got to the point where she had to hire somebody. It’s almost like she hired me because she couldn’t find somebody else, so there wasn’t a lot of joy and there wasn’t a lot of trust in me. It was her baby and it was her first time directing. It was a big deal for her. Here I am, nobody knows me really, and she has to hire me. She gets to the point where she knows it, she makes this decision with me, but yet, I was like the default. That’s hard.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! Please be sure to open and click your first newsletter so we can confirm your subscription. Email Submit “They also surrounded me in all of the basketball scenes with real ball players,” she added. “I wasn’t ‘Sanaa Lathan,’ I was just some actress and I could feel them being like, ‘Why did this b—h get the part? She can’t play!’ So there was a lot of crying, a lot of crying behind the scenes for me.” However, she got through it all by totally mastering Monica when it came to the actual acting. She already had more than 30 plays under her belt, and that gave her some of the confidence she needed to get through it all. “If I had been an actress who hadn’t really done a lot, just a couple of acting classes, I would have probably been terrified. But I knew I could do the role,” she said. “The role for me was easy. I got this. So I wasn’t worried about that. It was the basketball.” For the record, while she initially wasn’t crazy about Gina while shooting  Love and Basketball , she considers her like family now and is grateful to have been a part of her classic film. “We bonded quickly thereafter. By the end of shooting, we were cool and very close,” she said. “We went on to do Disappearing Acts and Shots Fired and I love her. She’s like a sister to me. She’s an amazing artist.” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com” id=”1717483″ overlay=”true”] Source: MadameNoire.com ALSO TRENDING ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : Here Are Photos Of Diddy’s Rumored New Girlfriend Gina Huynh 9 Times Gabrielle Union’s Bikini Body Sent Us Straight To The Gym Racist Airbnb Host To Black Guests: ‘Which Monkey Is Going To Stay On The Couch?’ [VIDEO] Follow @TheRSMS

Exclusive: Aisha Hinds Talks “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters,” Leading A Special Elite Kaiju-Battling Squadron & More!

Source: Chelsea Guglielmino/WireImage Exclusive Chat With “Godzilla” Star Aisha Hinds Incredibly talented actress Aisha Hinds is already legendary. No, seriously, she freed slaves as Harriet Tubman on “Underground,” piloted the Starship Enterprise in “Star Trek: Into Darkness” and now leads the special elite kaiju-battling military squadron in “ Godzilla: King Of The Monsters .” At this point, she’s quite possibly the most diverse (and magical) Black woman in Hollywood who shines in the larger-than-life summer blockbuster about giant monsters (or “titans”) throwing hands (and buildings) for the crown to rule Earth. And if that sounds epic, it absolutely is, especially when you see a fearless woman of color from Brooklyn commanding our last military hope (ON EARTH) in the midst of colossal chaos. So we absolutely had to interview her (and did briefly) just days before the release of the biggest (and boldest) nostalgia-splashed Action Thriller of the summer. Tell us about “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” How did you get involved with the film? “I was reading the script and realized that this was something that actually resonated–that it’s not just another blockbuster movie that here was a story that was being told with so much heart because Michael Doherty–the guy who’s directing it–Godzilla is such a huge part of the fabric of his life that it’s such a passion project for him that I could feel his soul in wanting to tell this story and give Godzilla fans an experience with it that made him feel the way he felt as a child… And so when they offered this role of “Diane Foster” to me she represented something that doesn’t exist in the world and I felt like that was a beautiful follow-up to Harriet Tubman because here she was in pursuit of something that she had never experienced in life which was freedom and so here with now “Diane Foster” representing something that doesn’t exist in the world which was a woman who is serving as a green beret special forces officer leading an elite squad of team members–as part of Monarch which is a huge part of the history of Godzilla …and women are just now actually passing this special forces assessment and selection phase of military training to be able to go on to the special forces qualification course (which could go up to 24 months) to become green berets and serve as special forces officers so I realized that this was a unique opportunity for me to represent something that doesn’t exist but create the possibility for it to be tangible and visible for it not just to be a woman but a woman of color and so I was really excited about that” We notice that you pick a lot of diverse roles–you were in a “Star Trek” movie–minding your business and doin’ your thing–and we love that about you. You were Harriet Tubman but you’ve also done a lot of things that Black women have NOT done before–ever–has it ever hit you that you’ve accomplished these things in your career? “The thing is, I always look back retrospectively and I know the things I’m drawn to–I know the things that resonate–and when those things resonate and hit that part of your spirit those are things that draw me in and I’m grateful which is why I try to stay in tune with my spirit because, I’m like, I will follow you wherever you lead and if this is where you’ve lead me thus far then I know that there’s more to go… So while I’m in this season of cup runneth over and I’m getting the opportunities to do these things and have all these diverse roles I know there will come a point in my life, in my career, where I’m going to turn that cup over and start pouring into the cup of those behind me in the generation to come and I look forward to that” You mentioned “Underground” and Harriet Tubman and how important that is in your career. Is there still an opening, in your mind, for that to come back? Would you be open to pursuing that again? “Underground” holds a huge part of my heart not just because of the opportunity to play this iconic figure but also the family that was forged from that experience–if that should ever come back around I’d gladly rejoin my family in continuing that narrative because there’s exhaustive content as it pertains to that narrative and that story but also I think we have put into the world 20 episodes of television that will live on forever–20 episodes that I am tremendously tremendously proud of” “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” in theaters now!

Brad Pitt: Did He Skip Daughter’s Birthday to Party With New Girlfriend?!

Brad Pitt has a lot on his plate these days. Along with Leonardo DiCaprio, he’s one of the two leads in Quentin Tarantino’s highly-anticipated Once Upon a Time in Hollywood , and while the film doesn’t hit US theaters until August, promotional duties have already brought Brad to Europe. Last week, Pitt was at Cannes for the film’s festival debut and this week he’s … still across the pond for unrelated reasons. Insiders say Pitt stayed put to attend a Venice art event celebrating his friend Thomas Houseago. That’s certainly his prerogative, and we imagine one of the many, many perks of being a world-famous multi-millionaire is going someplace exotic and then being like, “Ya know, I’m just gonna chill here for a few weeks” when it’s time to leave. It’s not bad to be Brad. But while no one is begrudging Pitt his right to jet around the world in a PJ, the actor is catching some flak for the timing of his trip. As multiple media outlets have pointed out, Brad was in Venice during the birthday of his daughter Shiloh, who turned 13 on Monday. In most families, a dad missing his daughter’s birthday so he could party with his sculptor buddy would be major cause for concern. But there are a few extenuating circumstances in Brad’s case: One, the terms of Pitt’s custody agreement with Angelina Jolie are pretty ironclad. When the kids are with her, they’re with her. He’ll supposedly have them for most of the summer once school lets out. On top of that, Shiloh has been a member of the Pitt-Jolie clan for 13 years now. We’re sure she’s used to her parents missing school recitals, birthdays, and other milestone events because they’re off doing cool sh-t in an exotic locale. The trade-off is that her parents are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, so it evens out. Of course, Brad’s time overseas has been of interest to the tabloid press for reasons that go beyond his allegedly negligent parenting. According to The Daily Mail , Pitt has been spending a lot of time in the company of a “mystery woman.” It’s important to note that “mystery woman” is the designation that the British tabloid press gives much every female who’s spotted in the company of a male celebrity. So maybe this is nothing. Or maybe it’s true love and we’re in for another round of Angelina jealousy rumors. Either way, it’s pretty clear that Brad is busy living his best life.
