The first trailer for Randall Miller’s CBGB sends us back to the early days of the punk rock movement. Starring Alan Rickman as the iconic Hilly Kristal, the film tells the story of the beginnings of the legendary club where the music was practically the only draw. Joining Rickman is a laundry list of stars including Donal Logue, Ashley Greene, Johnny Galecki, and countless others who are tasked with portraying the numerous musicians that came through the doors of CBGB. Much like the JFK assassination, people remember where they were when they heard Princess Diana had died. She was, and remains, one of the most recognizable women in the world. When Prince George, aka the Royal Baby , was born, talk returned to Diana and her legacy. Nearing the 16th anniversary of her death, a new film is coming out that focuses on a very brief moment in the Princess’ life but one the filmmakers believe to be a pivotal one. Diana Movie Trailer Directed by Oliver Hirshbiegel, who is known most well for his film, Downfall , which provided the scene for the very popular “Hitler Reacts To” meme, Diana tells the story of the love affair between Diana (Naomi Watts) and Dr. Hasnat Kahn (Naveen Andrews). While it, of course, garnered plenty of paparazzi attention, the affair is not as well remembered as others including the ill-fated Dodi Fayed. Diana is set to open in the UK on September 20th, no US date has been set as of yet.
Michael Ansara, a rugged character actor perhaps best known for his role on three different TV iterations of Star Trek, has died at the age of 91. Ansara, who was married to actress Barbara Eden of I Dream of Jeannie fame, died July 31 at his home in Calabasas, Calif., after a prolonged illness. Born in a small village in Syria to American parents, Ansara is beloved by Star Trek fans for his portrayal of his character, Klingon warrior Kang. The actor played Kang on three versions of the legendary sci-fi franchise: the original (1968), Deep Space Nine (1994) and Voyager (1996). He also had major roles in such films as Julius Caesar and The Robe, Jupiter’s Darling, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Greatest Story Ever Told . Ansara came to the U.S. with his American parents at the age of 2. As a teen, he and his family relocated to California, and he entered Los Angeles City College with the intention of becoming a doctor, not an actor. A stint at the Pasadena Playhouse (where fellow students included Charles Bronson, Carolyn Jones and Aaron Spelling) led to roles on stage and in films. Michael Ansara was married to Eden from 1958-74. Their son, Matthew Michael Ansara, died in 2001.
Teresa Palmer is engaged to actor Mark Webber, she confirmed today on Twitter. “I think I’ve said ‘fiance’ over 100 times in the last few hours,” she gushed. “It sounds so nice. So happy.” The 27-year-old Warm Bodies actress met the Goodbye World actor, 33, last year. “This is actually really embarrassing,” she told Australia’s Herald Sun in March. “I looked him up after I saw the trailer for his film End of Love and I realized we had so much in common. There were lots of emails going back and forth.” “It was like old-fashioned love letters in a way. My family and friends really love him. I think he’s changed my perspective on a few things about my life.” Webber, who is also a screenwriter and director, is a father to son, Isaac Love, whom he had with actress Frankie Shaw. Congrats to the couple!
Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans was back in court on charges of cyberstalking (against ex Gary Head) and assault and heroin possession (on/with Courtland Rogers). In a rare piece of good news for the troubled reality star, the cyberstalking charge was dismissed – and the other two charges may soon be too. Yes, she could be off the hook even after admitting on MTV that she was a heroin addict? Attorney Dustin Sullivan says he “doesn’t foresee” a return to court. A big reason for that? Courtland Rogers, who appeared in the same courthouse just one day before, copped a plea and is going to be released. “Courtland has worked out a plea deal and he’s going to get out of jail in the next day or so,” a source said. “He was basically given time served.” “He pleaded guilty to his charges and now he’s going to get out .” Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers are still legally married, but she’s moving in with Nathan Griffith, and says she plans to divorce Rogers ASAP. The couple was arrested on April 23 after police were called to their house (actually his parents’) and found 12 bindles of heroin in their possession. Evans claimed from the start that the drugs belonged to her estranged spouse, and with Courtland’s plea, she may have grounds for dismissal. Jenelle’s court date was pushed back until August 12, where she must appear again for both the heroin and assault charges if they aren’t tossed. Sounds like there’s a good chance they will be, though. “My lifeeeeee is soooooo greaaaaat! PERFECTO!” the Carolina hurricane bragged on Twitter after the hearing yesterday, for what that’s worth. Danielle Cunningham is not going to be impressed.

Tom Hanks is a busy guy. One minute he’s in the Saving Mr. Banks trailer , the next he’s popping up on these new Captain Phillips posters. Check out both the one-sheet and international Captain Phillips posters below! As you can see in this Captain Phillips trailer , the film follows the events surrounding Captain Richard Phillips his ship, the MV Maersk Alabama, being taken hostage by Somali pirates. These are two great posters. The international one, featuring Hanks, does a great job at conveying the general plot. There are pirates (one of whom has a case of the crazy eyes)… they have guns… Tom Hanks is nervous. The domestic one-sheet is just an exercise in great composition. Captain Phillips , directed by Paul Greengrass, opens in theaters on October 11.
