The renewed enthusiasm for the Man of Steel here in 2011 has led some to wander back to 2006, and the nearly forgotten about Superman Returns from director Bryan Singer. How come that movie failed to connect with audiences? Singer has an idea.

Rapper Pharoahe Monch Reviews Sucker Punch, Because Why Not?

These days everyone’s a critic. No, really : The folks at NextMovie got rapper Pharoahe Monch to review Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch for a video series entitled, appropriately enough, “Rappers Review Movies.” (Previous installments include Lil Mama on Big Momma’s House 3 — oh, the sweet poetry in that pairing — and Talib Kweli on The Fighter .) TIMELINE: The Hobbit’s Troubled 75-Year Journey From Page to Screen

On Monday, somewhat incredibly, The Hobbit finally started filming . Amid the seemingly weekly reports of turmoil and lawsuits surrounding the two-part Hobbit film over the last few years, it’s easy to forget just how long this movie has been in production — and the minor miracle it is that not only is The Hobbit being filmed, but Peter Jackson is behind the camera. So let’s take a quick look back — a “Dummy’s Guide,” if you will — at the timeline associated with the long, torturous journey that finally got us to where we are today.

Did the Foo Fighters Slam Glee Just to Get Press For Their New Documentary?

Say you’re a band with a project to promote. The easiest way to get some quick media attention is by picking a fight with a hugely popular entertainment entity (or Charlie Sheen), since the press is desperate for any new story involving said entity. With that understanding then, is it merely coincidental that the Foo Fighters decided to start trashing Glee just in time for the premiere of their documentary, Foo Fighters: Back and Forth ?
