Dammit, I thought I was immune to Star Wars. The prequels, endless spin-off products and constant tinkering with the films has, sadly, bled me dry of interest in anything related to the famous Lucas franchise. Or so I thought. Then I watched the video below, which cuts footage from many of the Star Wars films against the audio from the trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming film Drive. Han Solo… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 26/08/2011 20:46 Number of articles : 2

Why Elizabeth Banks Tweets

“I accidentally got on Twitter because there was a fake Elizabeth Banks, twittering, and David Wain, who’s the director of Role Models and a good friend of mine, was staying at my house in L.A., twittering. I didn’t know anything about Twitter at the time, but he was following me, thinking it was me. And this person tweeted, ‘Hanging out by my pool! Just chilling on Saturday!’ And David Wain was actually hanging out by my pool, on Saturday, and I wasn’t there. I was in New York or something. And so he was like, ‘Huh, I don’t think you’re Elizabeth Banks.’ And this person broke down, and said, ‘No I’m not Elizabeth Banks. I started this because I’m a fan and now I have all these followers and I don’t know what to do.’ David called me and said, ‘Do you want me to broker the password away from this guy and get your identity back on Twitter?’ And he did! So, yeah: I got Twitter identity theft.” Now you know. [ Esquire ]

Edgar Wright’s geek fantasy epic Scott Pilgrim vs. the World may have biffed with mainstream audiences last year, but it’s earned a dedicated fan following since, granting it bona fide cult status. What’s Her Line? Rooney Mara Gets Pointy in Latest Images From Dragon Tattoo

There’s been precious few sightings to date of Rooney Mara in character as Swedish punk-rock bisexu-hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo . Which can only be a good thing; there’s only so much toplessness a marketing campaign can really withstand in the far-off months leading up to release. But what’s this? New Rooney? Fully clothed, hooded and pointing at a dude ? Ooh la la, let us at it. (Bonus: Daniel Craig and Christopher Plummer, also fully clothed!)

The $11 Question: How The Worst Movie EVER! Scored the Worst Opening Ever

The little movie that couldn’t has become the little movie that still probably won’t but will have fun trying: Since Tuesday, when we brought you the story of The Worst Movie EVER ! and its unprecedented $11 opening weekend , a groundswell of lookie-loos from around the world have made the trailer a mini-hit on YouTube and initiated something of a cult following on Facebook. It still has a ways to go before reaching The Room levels of notoriety , but for now, anyway, it can still claim one critical distinction: Nobody has any idea who its one ticket-buying viewer is.

We’re so far beyond the point where complaining about George Lucas making changes to Star Wars is actually an expression of surprise or outrage. It’s just a ritual. We expect him to change things around every time the films hit a new format, so much so that I think there would be more genuine surprise expressed if the saga hit Blu-ray and didn’t feature any new alterations. Not to worry however, as… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 24/08/2011 18:55 Number of articles : 2

Flings With Benefits: Watch the New Trailer for SXSW Fave Weekend

The SXSW /Outfest favorite Weekend , starring newcomers Tom Cullen and Chris New, explores what happens when a one-night stand turns into a meaningful bond — and when the two lovers in question happen to be sexy, hirsute gentlemen who sometimes look like each others’ doppelgangers. In other words, this movie should be taught in schools. View the trailer for director Andrew Haigh’s touching (not cloying!), honest (not earnest!) film after the jump.
