Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems: Feds Pop Shady Financial Advisors For Embezzling $2 Milli From Colts Baller Dwight Freeney

Feds Arrest Dwight Freeney’s Financial Advisors For Embezzling Over $2 Million From NFL Player SMH… This is why you can’t trust anybody around your money! NFL player Dwight Freeney had to learn that lesson the hard way. According to TMZ reports : While Indianapolis Colts stud Dwight Freeney was crushing NFL QBs … 2 financial advisors allegedly sacked him in an embezzlement scheme involving millions of dollars, luxury hotels, and a private jet … TMZ has learned. According to the Federal complaint — obtained by TMZ — Eva D. Weinberg and Michael A. Stern were busted late last week after a lengthy investigation revealed how they “conspired to defraud victim D.F., a professional football player.” According to the docs, Weinberg is a financial advisor at Bank of America who worked with Freeney, controlled several of his accounts, and introduced him to Stern … also a financial advisor. The feds claim Weinberg and Stern did major damage between May 2010 and October 2011 — making $2.2 million in fraudulent transfers from Dwight’s accounts to Arms Reach Consulting — a company controlled by Stern. When Freeney finally noticed one of the bogus transfers in 2011, and discovered Weinberg and Stern were dating … he called the FBI. One FBI investigator says some of the items Weinberg and Stern purchased with Freeney’s cash include expensive sunglasses, stays in luxury hotels, and — best of all — they planned to buy a private jet for $1.5 million! According to the docs, agents even heard Stern brag on the phone … “no one would be able to connect him to the [consulting] account if the wire transfers were investigated.” Clearly he was wrong … agents arrested Weinberg in L.A. and Stern in Miami. Both were charged with wire fraud. Calls to Freeney’s attorney were not immediately returned. Damn son… They were trying to get a private plane with his money!!! More On Bossip! Whitney Houston Was In Debt At Time Of Death?

A lot of things are starting to make sense and if these reports are true, it’s no wonder Whitney Houston’ s family sold footage of her funeral to the media and claimed it was for the financial benefit of Houston’s only child, daughter Bobbi Kristina . Despite selling over 200 million albums and singles throughout her career, Houston was reportedly broke when she died last month, and owed her label Sony Music tens of millions of dollars. While sales and downloads of Houston’s music increased soon after her death, which is often the case in these situations, her daughter won’t see any of the royalty checks until the debts are paid off and that could take quite some time. The Daily reports that when Houston signed a deal with Sony in 2001 for $100 million and six albums, her reserves were pretty much dry

The Bad Son?? Tracy Morgan Denies That He Won’t Help His Mother Pay $25K To Save Her Soon-To-Be Foreclosed Home

Tracy Morgan denies that he’s a deadbeat son: Tracy Morgan is denying claims that he wouldn’t help his mother pay her mortgage. The media war started after the “30 Rock” actor’s mother, Alicia Walden gave a flurry of interviews about her financial situation, saying she’s facing foreclosure on her Youngstown, Ohio, home. Walden, 61, tells CNN she called her son in January asking for $25,000 to pay off her mortgage, but his assistant called back to say, “Tracy would do a one shot deal of $2,000.” Walden, who says she was laid off from her job in February 2011, told the New York Daily News, “I told her [Morgan’s assistant], ‘Thank you, but no thank you.’ I’m not some person in the street. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.” Morgan, 43, meanwhile, calls the allegations “untrue,” telling CNN in a statement, “For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my Mother in 11 years and outside of a random call here and there have had little to no contact with my sister. We all have personal family issues that we have to deal with in life, but I choose to deal with mine in private and not through the media.” The comedian’s younger sister, Asia Morgan, has come out swinging too. She confirmed the mortgage story to the Daily News and adds, “He’s [Tracy Morgan] never been a nice person. And money’s just made it worse.” We hope Tracy wouldn’t do his family like that. SMH. Terrell Owens: Shirtless, Nearly Broke!

Terrell Owens, impossibly taut at age 38, poses shirtless in the new GQ . In addition to losing his shirt, he reveals that he lost nearly $80 million in career earnings. Now out of football and running out of money, he appears desperate. When people text him to ask where he is these days, Owens replies back : “I’m in hell.” Sad to hear that anyone feels that way. But is it his own fault? Terrell Owens blames the media for not giving him a chance to rehab his injury, and blames agent Drew Rosenhaus for not protecting him from a bad business deal. Owens earned around $80 million in his NFL career, but has found himself in deep financial trouble, despite never spending lavishly. How does that happen exactly? It’s not a matter of having lived too large, he insists. While he indeed racked up a few homes that milliond, the issue, he says, was being loyal and trusting to a fault. Owens said financial advisers recommended by Rosenhaus lost his money in highly leveraged (some borderline illegal) ventures and the housing market collapse. “I hate myself for letting this happen,” Owens told GQ. “I believed that they had my back when they said, ‘You take care of the football, and we’ll do the rest.'” “And in the end, they just basically stole from me.” It’s a sad tale, but this is also a guy with four baby mamas and no job – can’t blame your financial advisers for that – and whose brash self-absorption is unparalleled.

New Hampshire Voters Say College Costs, Unemployment Top Issues

‘It’s hard for graduates, not being able to pay their loans and find a job,’ one young voter tells MTV News. By Gil Kaufman, with reporting by Sway Calloway A young voter casts his ballot in the New Hampshire primary Photo: T.J. Kirkpatrick/ Getty Images MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — There were no excuses to skip Tuesday’s (January 10) primary in the Granite State. The weather was balmy for this time of year, there was no snow on the ground and the body-slamming back-and-forth between the Republican contenders was worthy of a backyard wrestling ring. But what brought out an expected record 250,000 voters for Tuesday’s contest? MTV’s Power of 12 hit the polls early and late in the day to ask young voters what was on their minds when they stepped up to be counted. Lifeguard and Special Olympics basketball coach (go, Manchester Mustangs!) Keating Tufts, 21, emerged from casting his vote just before dinnertime with college tuition on his mind. “We’re paying more for school every single year, the tuition keeps on going up … I feel like [I should] do my part and vote,” said the Southern New Hampshire University student who was not willing to fall in line and cast his lot with GOP front-runner Mitt Romney, instead opting for unconventional congressman Ron Paul. “He’s got a different view than normal candidates, so I feel like it would be interesting to see what he can do.” As high school English teacher Kelly Ilacqua, 25, emerged from the Carol M. Rines Health Center in Manchester’s Ward 3, she said she went with former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum because of her pro-life beliefs. “He is the author of the legislation that outlawed partial-birth abortion … and he’s also been a big proponent of two legislations that have stopped doctors in abortion clinics from ending the lives of abortion-surviving infants.” Earlier in the day, first-time voter Amelia Dickinson, 18, had several different motivations for voting. “Right now I’d have to say the economy and foreign policy … with [North Korea’s] Kim Jong-Il passing and everyone on edge about what’s going to happen next,” she said. “Obviously with the economy with how there’s so much unemployment, people are worried about inflation with the dollar. I think the next president really needs to have an understanding and know what to do with those two problems and really be willing to compromise with the two parties.” For another first-time voter, 18-year-old high school student Emily Flanders, it was not the economy but social issues including gay rights and abortion, while Andrew Judd, 19, said he was thinking a lot about foreign policy as well as who the eventual candidates are beholden to in getting to the big game. “Intellect in general, how smart the candidates are,” he said. “You want a smart president. Also, how people were financially backed. I don’t want somebody going to Washington with a lot of promises they have to fill.” Danielle Courtemanche, 23, was focused squarely on the same things so many millions of Americans are: unemployment. After meeting former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman several times at her job at the local Hilton Garden Inn hotel, Courtemanche said she felt that he understood her struggles and those of her peers and had the best plan to help them out. “As a graduate of 2011, I feel that it is very important for people my age to go out and vote. I feel like it’s a big problem,” she said of the difficulty new graduates are having finding jobs. “It’s hard for graduates with loans … not being able to pay their loans and to find a job.” Like many of the other voters MTV News has talked to in Iowa and New Hampshire, high school senior David Chester, 19, said the #1 issue is the economy. “[Definitely] the economy, which affects everyone,” he said. “I think one of the huge things that we need to acknowledge is that the financial crisis was due in large part to the financial sector, not the public sector, and a little regulation in Wall Street would not hurt to have a little responsibility there.” What issues are important to you as you get ready to hit the polls for your primary?
