But the Oakland rapper was out in the open for everyone to see on Wednesday when he was arrested in Stockholm for possession of cocaine and suspicion of assault. According to reports, when security guards tried to calm him down, G-Eazy allegedly started throwing punches and even landed a few on one guard’s face. Free G Eazy pic.twitter.com/MoTHulB1UR —
Last month, a rumor that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were headed for divorce made its way across the social media landscape. At the time, the notion seemed somewhat ridiculous. After all, Reynolds and Lively have long enjoyed a reputation as one of Hollywood’s happiest and most stable couples. But to shock and chagrin of fans, reports of Blake and Ryan calling it quits just kept rolling in. “The past few years, Ryan’s been working out of town while Blake stays home with the kids,” a source told Us Weekly. “The distance between them has taken its toll.” Reynolds employed his signature sardonic wit to shoot down the first round of reports: “I wish,” the actor tweeted. “I could use a little ‘me time.'” Fans were relieved, of course, and the controversy was thought to be over and done with. But earlier this week, Lively’s Instagram followers noticed that something was amiss on her page. As Radar Online points out, not only had Lively deleted all photos of Reynolds from her page, she had also unfollowed him and changed her bio so that it read simply: “What happened to Emily?” Adding fuel to the fire, Lively then followed 28 accounts of women named Emily Nelson. And like that, Emily Nelson became 2018’s answer to ” Becky with the good hair .” Fans assumed that Reynolds had been caught cheating and that Lively was determined to get to the bottom of his infidelity by hunting Nelson down. Sadly, this high drama nosedived into a disappointing conclusion today when it was revealed that “Emily Nelson” is merely the name of a character Lively is playing in an upcoming film, Yes, it was all an elaborate promotional stunt. Whenever you roll your eyes about something like this, some smart ass always has to chime in with, “Well, I guess it worked! You’re talking about it, aren’t you?!” Sure. In that sense, it worked. But apparently the film in question – A Simple Favor – doesn’t open until September! Does Blake really think this stunt is gonna stick with potential moviegoers for the next four months?! She’d have to actually divorce Ryan to win our attention for that long. View Slideshow: 22 Reasons Ryan Reynolds Owns Twitter
(Photo by Julie Dermansky/Corbis via Getty Images) Just two weeks ago, two young black men were arrested after a Starbucks barista called police on them for simply sitting down in the coffeehouse. Video captured the arrests and the clip went viral immediately. The reaction was swift and unrelenting. The young black men were clearly racially profiled and treated like they were because they are black. Hell, they were only in the Starbucks for two minutes, not even really getting a chance to actually loiter. The outrage towards Starbucks came from all corners of social media – white, black, man and woman – all joined forces to threaten boycotts, write the company and demand they rectify a wrongdoing. As a result of the mobilizing, the Starbucks CEO decided to stand with the young men, offering them working opportunities, making media appearances and even closing stores for a day to initiate diversity training for its employees. This was certainly above and beyond what we’ve seen from most companies accused of racial insensitivities and it’s largely thanks to the efforts of black activists who held Starbucks’ feet to the fire nonstop. Waffle House has been spared this outcome. Chikesia Clemons walked into a Waffle House in Saraland, Alabama late on the evening of April 22nd, a few days after the Starbucks incident. It’s unclear what happened next but we do know, thanks to another viral video, police were called and Clemons was held down, her breast exposed, officer hands on her neck. It was disgusting. The events that led to the altercation are disputed: Waffle House employees say that Clemons walked in drunk and threatened to “shoot up” the restaurant after being charged $.50 for plastic utensils. However, the employee who called 911 never mentioned the threat to the operator. Clemons’ attorney, Benjamin Crump, says he has witnesses who dispel the employee’s claims. Waffle House and its CEO have stood by the actions of its employees and even taking a step farther by saying they “strongly support the actions taken by the Saraland Police Department” (despite the fact that Waffle House as a business isn’t one with an expertise in law enforcement training so they really don’t have any authority to say what is proper protocol or not). And through it all, the amount of pushback directed at Waffle House has been infinitesimal compared to the amount of action directed at Starbucks. There are marches taking place in Georgia, and proposed boycotts and sit-ins, but not nearly on the level of what we saw at Starbucks, which forced the CEO to speak up. Why? Is it because there were so many vocal white cosigners for the Starbucks incident as opposed to the Waffle House situation? The Starbucks incident was one of those acts of resistance that didn’t inconvenience white people while at the same time allowing many to feel like they are about equality – it’s easy to point the finger at one Starbucks worker for her actions. However, we’ve seen how so many white Americans simply can’t bring themselves to question law enforcement. Is the reluctance because there just never seems to be the same sort of thirst for justice when it comes to black women as for literally any other group of people on this planet? We’ve seen these cases so often of a hesitance or flat-our refusal for anyone to stand up for black women, which the exception of black women themselves. Of course, there’s the fact that the Waffle House situation has more dissenting testimonies than Starbucks. That’s undeniable. But no matter what the narrative is, there’s absolutely no reason for Clemons to have been assaulted as she was. That is also undeniable. So Waffle House going so far as to defend the police actions is a reprehensible enough decision to warrant immediate action, even if you feel they are justified in calling police in the first place.. Sadly, though, when it comes to instances of black women being attacked, there’s always a wait-and-see approach. Stories about wronged black women seem to bring about the “let’s let the facts play out crowd.” The same people who have an understanding of lies and conspiracies to keep black men subjugated are suddenly proponents of the American judicial system, despite its history of terrorizing black communities. Where does that leave the Chikesia Clemonses of the world? The same place it left Korrine Gaines or the endless black women who are victims of R. Kelly’s sexual assaults. Alone, defended by only other black women and a few choice allies. So what side do you fall on? If you spoke up about Starbucks but have been silent about Waffle House, then you need to ask yourself why. And what that means about your ideas of justice for black women. Because it needs to be understand that none of us are free until all of us are free. Here’s more information on how you can help bring #JusticeForChikesia and support. Back in October, Alaskan Bush People star Rain Brown was praised for her pro-equality message that she shared on Instagram. Some fans, however, wondered if her message about LGBT rights might be a little personal. And, rudely, a couple of fans boldly asked Rain if she’s gay. Though she had every right to ignore the questions, Rain decided to come clean and answer them. Like the rest of her family, Rain Brown has a lot on her plate. Since no, Ami Brown’s cancer wasn’t miraculously cured despite our hopes and best wishes, she’s still contending with her mother’s battle with lung cancer. That’s hard for anyone to deal with, especially a girl who’s only just turned 15. Reportedly, the Brown family is filming Season 8 in Colorado. We don’t know how much they’ve filmed — possibly just a promo or two — but filming a reality series is no joke. Oh, and with Rain’s Instagram account having reached over 45,000 followers in just a few months, she’s dealing with a lot of social media pressures as both a teenage girl and her family’s de facto spokesperson. It’s through social media that some people decided to give her a hard time by grilling her about her sexuality. Folks, straight-up asking somebody their sexual orientation is fine sometimes, awkward at other times, and sexual harassment in other contexts. When total strangers are asking a 15-year-old girl her sexual orientation, that’s seriously crossing some boundaries. Apparently, Rain’s short hair, or perhaps the fact that she calls her fans “rainbows,” or perhaps her recent message about equality, led some fans to wonder about her sexuality, which is no one’s business by Rain’s. We don’t know if they expected Rain to answer, but she did. Rain shared an optimistic post, as she often does, and a fan straight-up commented: “Are you gay?” Though we’d have absolutely understood if Rain had ignored the comment, she decided to reply with a very direct answer: “No, I’m straight.” Rain didn’t stop there, though. “And I call my fans rainbows because my name is Rain, but you do you boo.” She added to that a kissy face emoji. Some people would add that as an insult, but coming from Rain, we think that it’s to show that there are no hard feelings over the question. On another photo, a different fan commented: “I wonder if [Rain] has accepted her sexuality yet?” (Folks, if you want to speculate over somebody’s sexuality, do it in private or not at all — not on that person’s Instagram page) Rain replied: “I’m straight … so yeah, I have.” That’s a polite reply but we believe that we detect an air of frustration. To be clear, the sexuality question is inappropriate, not because gay people are somehow inherently inappropriate, but because it’s nobody’s beeswax. Also, it can constitute harassment. She shouldn’t be faced with these questions, folks. Not just because plenty of LGBT+ folks don’t feel comfortable coming out at 15 (if they’re even aware), but because it’s straight-up inappropriate. We understand the desire to know as much as possible about the stars you admire. And, quite frankly, a lot of television is starved for decent LGBT+ representation. Reality television is definitely included. But instead of asking stars to come out — whether they’re actually gay or not — how about if we all instead mind our own business? Especially when the reality stars in question are, you know, 15. View Slideshow: Rain Brown: See the Alaskan Bush People Star’s Selfies That Get So Much Hate!
Back in August, Joy-Anna Duggar announced that she’s pregnant and ever since, fans have been regarding her claims about her conception date with serious skepticism. According to Joy, she got pregnant just days after marrying Austin Forsyth . When she made her announcement, the 20-year-old newlywed stated that she was roughly three months along. Fans cried foul and began speculating that Joy had gotten pregnant out of wedlock and was misleading the public in hopes of concealing that fact. To the theorists’ credit, there’s an awful lot of evidence to support that claim. Before their wedding, Joy-Anna and Austin admitted to breaking her family’s “courtship rules,” but did not go into detail with regard to the extent of their violation. (Joy’s family is so strict that they may have broken the rules simply by holding hands for too long.) So from the start, fans suspected Joy and Austin of defying her parents by engaging in premarital sex. The fact that Joy sported a sizable baby bump in her announcement photo only added fuel to the fire. In the months since, speculation has only grown, with several tabloid outlets speaking with doctors who examined photos and confirmed that Joy is further along than she claims . Now, we’re being presented with perhaps the most compelling evidence to date that the Duggars have something to hide, thanks to a family insider who’s confirmed to Radar Online that Joy’s due date is being kept under wraps . “They don’t really want the due date shared,” the insider says. “They prefer to keep it private.” Joy’s mother and several of her sisters and sisters-in-law have gotten pregnant in the public eye, and this is the first time that any of them has made any effort to keep their due date a secret. Earlier this week, we learned that Joy will not reveal the gender of her baby, and many fans believe the reason is that Duggar gender reveals are typically accompanied by dated sonogram photos. Obviously, if Joy is misleading fans about her date of conception, it would be difficult for her to post any such medical information without giving herself away. It’s impossible to say with absolute certainty that the Duggars are being less than truthful with regard to when Joy’s pregnancy began. But each new day seems to bring new evidence to that effect.
