Hi! My name is Nicole and I’m from Toronto, Canada. I am fortunate enough to be writing my fourth Bieber experience. Justin was in Toronto for the MMVA’s on Friday June 15 th – Monday June 18 th , so my friends and I got a hotel for the weekend, which just happened to me beside Justin’s. On Saturday morning after checking in, we noticed a big crowd around a hotel, after waiting for about an hour, Justin walks out with Selena and gets in the car. He drove past us slowly with the window down, waving and saying hi to all of us, touching everyone’s hands. That night was Alfredo’s birthday, which was celebrated at a popular Toronto club, which we were also at, supporting DJ Tay James. After a great and unforgettable night out with the crew, we went back to the hotel to catch up on the loss of sleep we had. Sunday was the MMVA’s, which Justin performed at and did incredible. At this point, we lost hope in meeting Justin, and decided to just forget about it, and have an amazing night at Perez Hilton’s after party. We knew that the next morning Justin had an event in NYC, which is only a one-hour flight from Toronto. We figured Monday morning would be our last chance to meet Justin. We wanted to wake up super early, until none of our alarms went off, so we rushed to pack our bags, clean the room, and get ready. We went next-door to Justin’s hotel and waited about two hours, until we saw Bruce. We then saw Kenny and Alfredo bring down luggages and put them in a van. We knew something was up. A few minutes later, Justin and Selena come outside and put their stuff in their car. Selena jumped right into the car and so we thought Justin would do the same. All of a sudden he disappears and no one knows where he went. About 2 minutes later he walks out from behind the car and says hi to everyone, and tells us that he wanted to take a picture with every single one of us. After getting my picture, I told him about the Toronto Buyout my friends and I were having the weekend after, he replied with, “A buyout?! Buyouts are AWESOME!” with a huge smile on his face.  He was saying hi to every single fan, asking them how they were, and ended it with a huge hug. As he was with other fans, my friend and I were just talking to Kenny, while waiting for Justin to finish. I’ve never experienced Justin this humble towards us before, out of all the encounters I’ve had with Justin. He was in such a great mood, even though he had a flight to catch, he was very focused on meeting us and making our dreams come true . Before he left, he shouted, “Did everyone get a picture? I want to make sure everyone got one before I leave.” How sweet of him! He was truly generous and thankful for us. I was also lucky enough to get meet & greets for Justin’s Believe tour, so Justin… see you in November! Thank you for everything that you do! -@NicoleCampea Read more: Hi! Virgin America Crew to Octomom: LOL You Suck!

Nadya Suleman recently endured some turbulence in the non-literal sense on a Virgin America flight, enduring taunts and poor treatment from the crew. According to Octomom herself, at least. Her manager, Gina Rodriguez, says they were en route from LA to NYC on Tuesday to promote some Octomom porn when the airline made their lives hell. Rodriguez says they were forced to change seats, never got any beverages, overheard the crew making jokes about/laughing at Octomom and more. On top of general rudeness, she also says Octomom was kicked out of the bathroom by a flight attendant for no apparent reason … because that happens. Nadya filed a complaint with the airline , telling TMZ, “I was shocked at how poorly they treated me on the plane” and “will never fly Virgin America again.” Rodriguez adds that she and Nadya Suleman confronted the flight attendants about their behavior and one said in response, “I know who you guys are!” That’s as good an excuse as any. Prince William Promoted to Royal Air Force Captain

Let us now pause from debating Kate Middleton baby bump photos to discuss the simple, undisputed and unrelated fact that Prince William is the man. Not only is he rich, smart, handsome, married to a beautiful girl and a future monarch, but he’s on his way to becoming a decorated serviceman! Two years after joining the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Force, the Duke of Cambridge has officially qualified to be an operational captain. William can now lead missions in RAF Sea King helicopters by himself. The 29-year-old recently helped save the lives of Russian seamen whose cargo vessel sank in the Irish Sea last November, co-piloting the aircraft. William’s advancement comes after two years of flying experience and study with C Flight, 22 Squadron at RAF Valley in Anglesey, Wales. Flight Lieutenant Wales, as he is known in the RAF, “demonstrated the required standards needed for the award of operation captaincy,” his commanding officer said. “Due to the nature of search and rescue operations, the required standards are always set at a very high level. Operational captaincy carries the overarching responsibility for the continued safety of the aircraft, its crew and any casualties.” Wills – way to go man!

Joel Kinnaman Talks ‘Gritty’ RoboCop Reboot While Samuel L. Jackson Joins Cast

It’s been 25 years since Paul Verhoeven’s RoboCop painted a nightmare vision of a near future in which a cyborg policeman became humanity’s salvation — so how will the upcoming reboot, starring Swedish-American actor Joel Kinnaman (AKA Holder of TV’s The Killing ), update the tale? Movieline spoke with Kinnaman, who continues his Hollywood cross-over attempt in Friday’s New York drama Lola Versus , about Jose Padilha ’s RoboCop — and the real-world technology that suggests we’re already in a much different future than the original envisioned. Not convinced that the robot future is close at hand? Just take a look at the cyborg advances that have been made in Japan, where Kinnaman joked he’d be going to spend time with lifelike robots in preparation for his RoboCop role. “Have you seen these Japanese hospital droids, or humanoids or whatever they call them? They’ve perfected the skin, the skin looks so real, and they have these motors between the eyes for when they smile,” he marveled. “It’s just mind-blowing. We’re pretty close already. You can find it on YouTube. It’s spooky, but we’re getting really close.” Kinnaman says shooting on the remake begins for him in September, with Gary Oldman on board to play Norton, a scientist responsible for turning the human Alex Murphy into RoboCop. Today, THR broke the news that Samuel L. Jackson playing “Pat Novak, a charismatic TV mogul and a powerful force in the Robocop world.” As for writer-director Padilha ( Elite Squad , Elite Squad 2 ), Kinnaman had high praise. “He’s a young master, and a very strong visionary, and he wants to make something with a lot of substance, he said. “If you’ve seen Elite Squad then you know the action sequences are a walk in the park for him, he can portray action very realistically – and that’s how he wants to do this movie.” “It takes place in the future and it’s RoboCop , but it’s still going to feel like a gritty, down to earth movie,” he added. “With a lot of fireworks around it, but…” Back in September, Padilha spoke with Movieline describing his take on RoboCop and the deeper questions his version will explore: Even looking at the first RoboCop , which is a film that I love, it’s not local in that sense; it has an acid critique of society as a whole and it also deals with different subject matter that is more universal, like what is it like to replace people with automatic systems? A lot of jobs today are being automated; what happens when you extend that concept to very important areas of society like law enforcement? What happens if you start controlling the behavior of criminals or people in general with software-running machines? Those questions, they look like they’re sci-fi but they’re not. Pretty soon we’ll have robots in our society, you’re going to have a lot of automated processes that used to be done by people – this is happening. Society and technology is changing so fast, and the impact of the change on society and technology is global, not local. RoboCop talks a little bit about this. What does it mean to replace a person or enhance a person by using technology? What does that do to the person themselves? What sort of drama does it create, what sort of philosophical questions lurk behind those things? Kinnaman, meanwhile, has said his and Padilha’s approach to the character is more of an “acting piece” than Peter Weller’s original turn; a reported costume update means his eyes will be more visible, for starters. Asked to elaborate, he offered this explanation of how their RoboCop will differ from Verhoeven’s: “It just comes from the realization that our vision of a robot 30 years from now is very different from the vision of what a robot was in the future in 1987. That is the main thing. Obviously there are some things in the script that lead into that, but that stuff I can’t talk about.” Check back for the full Movieline interview this week. Robert Zemeckis’ Flight Trailer: Denzel Washington Runs Into Turbulence

After riding train after train and whatnot , Denzel Washington is back navigating giant hunks of careening metal in Robert Zemeckis ‘s Flight , which marks the director’s return to live-action filmmaking after a decade spent trying (in vain, IMO) to conquer the uncanny valley. So how well do director and star succeed in piquing your interest in a movie about an airline pilot (Washington) who saves a plane full of passengers only to have his heroism — and drinking habits — come under scrutiny in the aftermath? Below, watch the first trailer for Flight , which boasts a stellar cast surrounding Washington that includes Bruce Greenwood, Don Cheadle, Kelly Reilly, John Goodman, and Melissa Leo. It’s not all that revealing, which is a good thing in this age of spoiler-happy marketing, though there’s potential for some big unknown twist to rock us to our core in the last act. So what’s there to look forward to? Washington as a normal dude trying to figure it out, I suppose — or as a hero hiding some dark secret, which would be more interesting — and, of course, the sight of Denzel rolling a freaking airplane on top of some houses , or whatever. That should be enough for me. And yet… I’m just lukewarm on Flight . Is there any reason to see it besides the fact that it’s Denzel being Denzel and Zemeckis maybe-recapturing the knack for storytelling on display in his best live-action hits? Head to Apple for the trailer premiere. Then again, I am about to get on a flight tomorrow morning, so forgive me if I’m not too juiced for a movie about the one airplane that falls apart in the sky for no good reason. Flight synopsis: In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane? Flight is in theaters November 2. [via Apple ]
