Anika Noni Rose Says FBI Concealing Identity Of Plane Passenger Who Sexually Assaulted Her

Image via Splash Anika Noni Rose Reveals Sex Assault On Plane Anika Noni Rose has come forward to reveal that she, like millions of other women, have been sexually assaulted. According to DailyMail , Rose appeared on SiriusXM’s Make It Plain show and revealed that she was touched inappropriately while she was sleeping by a man sitting next to her on a plane last year. To make matters worse, the Dreamgirls actress also charges that the FBI is concealing the name of her attacker. ‘I have never spoken of this, but I will say this out loud now: I was assaulted on a plane last year. And I haven’t been able to get this person’s name; they won’t give me the name of the person.’ Anika says she alerted the flight attendant, despite some reservations, and requested that the plane land and the attacker arrested. However… There’s a Freedom of Information act. You’re supposed to be able to get people’s names. I made a report right then with the FBI and they dropped it. They dropped the case,’ she said. She also had this to say: ‘I don’t really know how you deal with that. It was such a sly violence—such a sly violation,’ she added, saying, ‘It’s a really tough thing to deal with when something happens to you, and you do everything you’re supposed to do, and somebody somewhere else decides: ‘Well, we’re not going to go forward with this. We’re not going to look into this any further.’ You’re walking around in circles asking for information that is owed you. The amount of care that is taken to protect perpetrators is vastly heavier and stronger than the amount of care that is taken to protect victims.’ WTF is up with the FBI??

Fergie: I Hallucinated Crazy $hit While on Crystal Meth!

In promotion of her first solo album in 11 years, Fergie has opened up in a new interview about her past drug use. And the artist has held absolutely nothing back. “At my lowest point, I was [suffering from] chemically induced psychosis and dementia,” Fergie tells the United Kingdon’s iNews about her use of crystal meth. This was back in the early 2000s, she says. “I was hallucinating on a daily basis. It took a year after getting off that drug for the chemicals in my brain to settle so that I stopped seeing things. “I’d just be sitting there, seeing a random bee or bunny.” Wow. That’s pretty crazy and intense. Fergie also says her weight plummeted to around 90 pounds during this time. The artist’s hallucinations became so serious, Fergie says candidly, that she believed the CIA, FBI and a SWAT team were following her around. She eventually sought solace in a church, the only place she felt safe and protected. But then she had a breakthrough that probably saved her life. “I remember thinking: ‘If I walk outside, and the SWAT team’s out there, I was right all along. “But if they’re not out there, then it’s the drugs making me see things and I’m going to end up in an institution. “And if it really is the drugs, I don’t want to live my life like this any more, anyway.’ “I walked out of the church; obviously there was no SWAT team, it was just me in a parking lot. It was a freeing moment.” Fergie admits the drugs were “a hell of a lot of fun” for a period. Until, of course, they weren’t. “It’s so incredible, I know. I think I must have guardian angels,” the singer says of simply being alive. Prior to this honest spilling of very personal details, Fergie made news in September for her separation from Josh Duhamel . The stars had been married for eight years when they made this announcement and they share a four-year old son, Axl. Early on in this interview, Fergie says she’s proud of Duhamel for directing a new movie and says the pair tries to FaceTime with their child as often as possible when on the road. They are clearly on solid terms. Says the singer of her estranged husband and their priorities: “I’ve just released my first solo album in 11 years, and I’m out promoting it. So there’s a lot going on. “That’s why we wanted to find our footing with our separation before we announced it publicly: to make sure we really got it together for our kid. “It’s a constant juggling act.” Considering where she’s been in the past, though, it’s something we have no doubt Fergie can figure out and make work. Just take a look at how far she’s come.

Larry Nassar: U.S. Team Doctor Who Molested Over 140 Girls Sentenced to 60 Years

Back in October, Olympic gymnast  McKayla Maroney revealed how she was molested by her team doctor , Larry Nassar. In November, teammate Aly Raisman added her name to the list of over 140 young women with their own stories of abuse in the guise of medical care by Dr. Nassar. On Thursday, Larry Nassar was sentenced — not for sex abuse, but for child pornography charges. Dr. Larry Nassar, who is 54 years old, has been in prison while awaiting sentencing. During that time, McKayla Maroney and Aly Raisman revealed that Dr. Nassar had molested them , sharing their heartbreaking #MeToo stories with the world. Like so many others, these Olympic superstars describe Dr. Nassar, at the time their team doctor, administering “treatments” to them under the guise of medical practice. Olympic athletes (and others) often require legitimate therapies such as massage. Nassar, it is described, would use these as opportunities to molest the young girls who had been entrusted to his care. These monstrous deeds are evil to their core and unforgivable. But, though Nassar has pleaded guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault (a drop in the bucket compared to the number of accusers), it is not for these heinous crimes that he’s been sentenced. Larry Nassar was on trial for possession of child pornography. How much child pornography ? … asked virtually no one. He was found to have come into possession of 37,000 images that constitute child pornography. That almost certainly means that he was collecting photos of very real children who are victims or who were victims. Awful on its own, particularly if he then shared those images or in any way financially compensated the ones who gave them to him. Dr. Nassar was also accused of trying to destroy those images in order to avoid being held accountable for possessing child pornography. His sentence: 60 years in federal prison. Federal Judge Janet Neff explained (though she really didn’t need to) her reasoning behind the decision: That Larry Nassar “should never again have access to children.” We strongly agree. Possibly influencing the judge’s decision were impact statements from Nassar’s many victims, including McKayla Maroney. “Dr. Nassar was not a doctor, he in fact is, was, and forever shall be, a child molester, and a monster of a human being.” Agreed. “It all started when I was 13 or 14 years old, at one of my first National Team training camps, in Texas, and it didn’t end until I left the sport.” That is a nightmare. “It seemed whenever and wherever this man could find the chance, I was ‘treated.’ It happened in London before my team and I won the gold medal, and It happened before I won my Silver Medal.” Awful. “For me, the scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old. I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo.” This is not new information, and matches what she disclosed months ago. But that doesn’t mean that it was any easier for her to write. “He’d given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a ‘treatment.’ I thought I was going to die that night.” McKayla’s mother, Erin Maroney, also gave an impact statement about how this traumatic experience changed her daughter’s life. “This experience has been shattering to McKayla.” Of course it was. “She has transformed from a bubbly, positive, loving, world class athlete into a young adult who was deeply depressed, at times suicidal and essentially descended into an emotional abyss.” Abusing a child is a tragedy that can never be undone. They can heal, but they’ll never recover the formative years that they lost to trauma. “At times I was unsure whether I would open her bedroom door and find her dead.” We are eternally grateful that this monster’s abuses did not claim McKayla’s life. “Her father and I have been living this nightmare for years and until recently we felt hopeless. Nassar and those individuals and institutions that protected him almost snuffed out my daughter.” Michegan State University is accused of having helped to cover up Larry Nassar’s crimes. They adamantly deny it. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired?

Airline Ticket Price Hikes Criticized As Exploiting Hurricane Evacuees

Read this article:

W ith the powerful winds of Hurricane Irma approaching Florida, some airlines are hiking ticket prices well beyond the budget of many seeking to escape the destructive storm,  CBS News reports. The outlet interviewed a Vermont man, Steve McQueen , who said he spent  $1,725 to fly his 87-year-old mother from Fort Myers, Florida to Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday. He told CBS that he understands what happens with last minute ticket purchases but called the price “ghastly.”  Delta Airlines was publicly shamed when a prospective customer tweeted a price change  from $547.50 to $3,258.50 found on Expedia.com,  NBC News reported. Since that post went viral, others reported United Airlines and American Airlines for similar price hikes. Shame on you @delta . Jacking from $547 to over $3200 for people trying to evacute responsibly? #IrmaHurricane pic.twitter.com/O2nfPHQUAh — Leigh (@LeighDow) September 5, 2017 According to CBS, price gouging related to emergencies is illegal in Florida. That rule applies to hotels, gas stations and grocery stores–but not airlines. The federal government is responsible for regulating the airline industry. Exorbitant pricing complicates evacuation arrangements for students like Antonio Mercurius , an African American studies and health science major at the University of Miami. Mercurius told the  Miami Herald he felt “lucky” to have purchased his flight to the District of Columbia on Monday, before the hikes. The co-founder of the student poetry collective Speak How You Feel told reporters he was concerned about the safety of others who can’t afford the increased prices:  “Why is there no emergency evacuation cost? I understand supply and demand but the laws of capitalism should not operate in the times of catastrophic danger. What happens to the people that can’t afford flights now?” After public outrage over the “laws of capitalism,” some airlines began to change their tunes and prices. JetBlue set a $99 cap for direct flights out of Florida. American Airlines set a similar cap for outgoing flights. A spokesperson for Delta Airlines announced that it would adjust prices for last-minute flights, waive change fees, and accommodate more passengers with larger planes. The Bachelorette Spoilers: Rachel Lindsay Final Three Revealed!

Filming for the upcoming season is still in the works, but The Bachelorette spoilers reveal who Rachel Lindsay picks as her final four suitors. And, very possibly, who she has already picked as the winner. Rachel doesn’t debut in the lead role until Monday, May 22. But, if you know anything about the show, then you are well aware that The Bachelorette spoilers leak like a sieve throughout the spring. Ever since Lindsay was named The Bachelorette – before she had even been eliminated from The Bachelor – speculation has run wild. And, to the surprise of no one, Reality Steve (a.k.a. the Oracle of The Bachelorette spoilers) has been on top of this like Nick Viall on … … well, anything that moves. Pre-Vanessa, of course! As a result of his sleuthing, we can confirm that Rachel has already gone on hometown dates with her final four selections this season. Ready to find out exactly who those lucky men are? Lindsay will start the season with more than two dozen men vying for her heart, and 15 minutes of fame (there’s a thin line on The Bachelorette ). The fab four gents who make it to hometowns: 1. Dean Unglert. 2. DOCTOR Bryan Abasolo. 3. The amazingly named Eric Bigger. 4. Peter Kraus (not to be confused with actor Peter Krause with an “E” of Sports Night, Six Feet Under and Parenthood fame). When it comes down to the final three to take on overnight dates (read: Fantasy Suite sexiness), Rachel had to make a tough decision. Which of them gets sent packing?! Dean Unglert (above) is eliminated, but rest assured, he will be headed to Bachelor in Paradise this summer, according to Steve. How so? Apparently, there’s a new Bachelor Douche Collective in L.A., where Robby Hayes, Chase McNary and Jef Holm are all living together. You can’t make this stuff up … but you can move right next door to them if you’re Dean Unglert, which is a thing that is actually happening. As for the final three of Eric Bigger, Peter Kraus and Bryan Abasolo, there may be a twist this season in terms of scheduling and format. With Rachel’s sister pregnant, and her dad being a federal judge, they visited Lindsay’s home city of Dallas sooner, and not at her home. As of last weekend, all three remaining men met her family, but at a home that wasn’t theirs (for security reasons is the going theory). So who will win the final rose? Will Eric Bigger (above) be the first African-American winner of the show, capturing the heart of the first African-American Bachelorette? Or will it be Peter Kraus (below) or Bryan Abasolo (below him) who outlasts the rest and proposes with a Neil Lane ring at season’s end? Right now, it’s too soon to tell. In fact, with the family meeting Peter Friday, Eric Saturday, and Bryan Sunday in Dallas, per Steve, it’s a bit unclear what the format is. There is some speculation that the overnight dates took place there, though Dallas, Texas, doesn’t seem like the most romantic spot. “Big D” jokes aside … come on. They would be giving Rachel the shaft compared to previous seasons and there’s no disputing that. Besides, people would see them, so what we’re guessing is that the final two (whomever they may be) are now off to overnights instead. Most likely, the destination will be somewhere international, where the social media obsession with The Bachelor franchise is negligible. Sure, The Bachelorette spoilers get out anyway, but ABC would prefer it if there weren’t photo evidence and minute-by-minute live tweets. Just a hunch there. Again, it’s not clear who Rachel Lindsay chose as the final two, whether the exit of the third-place finisher happened in Dallas, or what.  Spain has been rumored as a destination for the final rose ceremony, or ceremonies, but that has yet to be confirmed as of this minute. There’s a lot up in the air right now. All we know is that we’re in for a great deal of drama, controversy, scandal and more when the show premieres two weeks from Monday. When we know more, and we can bring you the spoilers revealing what else happens all spring and summer, we will do so on THG. Spoilers side, do you think Rachel and her future fiance (whichever among the final three it may be) have what it takes to make it to the altar? Stay tuned, people. Stay. Tuned. Delta to Parents: Get Off This Flight… or We’ll Take Your Kids!

At this rate, the airline industry may soon be less popular than Congress. We're barely even kidding. By now, most of the free world is aware that United Airlines dragged a customer named David Dao often a flight earlier this month because he refused to give up the seat he had paid for. This incident was followed by Delta Airlines tossing a man off a plane because he dared to use the bathroom while the jet was still on the ground. Now, seemingly in an attempt to top its own ridiculousness, Delta has done the following… On April 23, Brian and Brittany Shear say they were on board a flight from Hawaii to California along with their two-year old son. Brian explained to a flight attendant that he originally bought the seat next to him for his 18-year-old son… but decided to put him on an earlier flight so that he could use that same seat for his younger child, Grayson, who was in a car seat. However, the airline said it had overbooked the flight and it needed the seat Mason was now occupying; it argued that it had a right to it because Mason’s name was NOT the name on the ticket that was purchased. It's a bit complicated. But the bottom line is that an airline once again overbooked a flight and, in this case, was telling the parents of a young child that they had to get off as a result. “You’re saying you’re gonna give that away to someone else when I paid for that seat?” Brian tells the airline employee in the video below. “That’s not right.” An airplane employee then says that under Federal Aviation Administration regulations, two-year-old kids cannot have their own seat and must fly while seated in their parents’ laps for the flight. (This is not accurate; the websites for both the FAA and Delta encourage parents to buy separate seats for young children and use a child safety restraint system.) Fine, then: Brian agreed to hold Grayson in his lap. /But he was still told to exit the plane – or face the consequences. According to Brian, an employee said the following to them during this exchange: “You have to give up the seat or you’re going to jail, your wife is going to jail and they’ll take your kids from you.” What a lovely policy. Watch the full encounter below:

Giant Playboy Bunny Found Dead on United Flight

United Airlines is under investigation for the mysterious death of an especially large rabbit. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Just a few weeks removed from the enormous public relations disaster of calling on the cops to drag away a customer who refused to leave his seat on an overbooked flight, the company is now under investigation again. This time, over the passing of an animal named Simon. Simon was a 10-month-old, three-foot long Continental Giant rabbit who was being transported in the cargo hold of a Boeing 767 while traveling from his breeder’s home in Great Britain to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. He was on his way to The Windy City to go to live with a new owner. However, when a United handler went to fetch Simon upon landing, the animal – whose 4’3″ father actually holds the Guinness World Record for longest rabbit – was unresponsive.  He was dead. It was expected that Simon would outgrow his famous parent and eventually be crowned the new Longest Rabbit on the Planet. He had been sold to Bryan Bergdale, a farmland investment manager, who says he purchased the rabbit for his boss, Steve Bruere, who hoped to show it at the Iowa State Fair. “We’d built a pen and had toys all ready. It’s sort of a sad deal,” Bergdale told reporters. “We’re still in the mourning process. We’re not quite sure what we’re going to do.” Bergdale added that he paid $530 for the rabbit, along with $1,800 in shipping costs. According to Annette Edwards, a former Playboy model who lives and breeds these large animals in Worcestershire, Simon had been labeled fit to fly, with vets declaring him “in good physical condition” the day his plane took to the air. “Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle,” Edwards told U.K.’s The Sun newspaper yesterday, adding in confusion and anger: “Something very strange has happened and I want to know what. I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before.” Across the globe, airlines require rabbits and most other caged pets to travel in a plane’s cargo holds. Here, the air pressure and temperature are supposed to be the same as they are in the cabin. Many companies also demand animals arrive with letters from a vet or certificates assuring they are healthy to travel. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Edwards provided documents of this nature. As previously cited, this is an especially bad time for United to be at the center of another scandal. It will likely shell out millions to Dr. David Dao for his horrendous mistreatment on board an oversold flight earlier this month. The passenger, who was sitting in a seat he purchased fairly and legally, was ordered to disembark so that United could fit four employees on board his plane. When Dao refused, he was physically yanked off board against his will, resulting in a concussion and multiple broken bones. And now USA Today reports that more than one-third of all 136 animals who died on passenger flights during the last five years passed away on United planes. What gives?!? That’s what PETA wants to know. “This rabbit was failed first by the breeder – who churns out and sells baby bunnies when animal shelters and rescue groups are full of homeless rabbits – and then by United Airlines, which shipped him off in a cargo hold like an old suitcase,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement to E! News. View Slideshow: #NewUnitedAirlinesMottos Take Over Internet: Choose a Favorite! “This rabbit’s death is not unique – more than 300 animals have died in cargo holds since 2005, and many more have been injured or lost. “PETA urges United to join JetBlue and Southwest in prohibiting companion animals from being flown as checked baggage in the confusion, noise, extreme temperatures, and improper pressurization of a cargo hold.” United is yet to commit to a change in its policy. But a spokesman has issued the following statement in the wake of this tragedy: “The safety and well-being of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team. “We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter.” May Simon rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2017: In Memoriam
