As we previously reported, ATL’s own Waka Flocka Flame recently shot an ad for PETA’s “Ink Not Mink” campaign, and the ad has finally surfaced. Like past PETA campaigns, Waka shed his clothing for the photo shoot, showing off his heavily tattooed body. “I don’t eat red meat,” Waka says in the video ad for the animal advocacy group. Says PETA: “underneath all that bling is a heart of gold—Waka Flocka Flame is a huge animal lover and is giving a shout-out to all the helpless fuzzy animals who are killed for their fur.” Guess PETA didn’t notice Waka’s red, 5-star Piru tat on his chest… RELATED: “Buzz In The Streetz” Waka Flocka Takes It All Off!! ! Waka Flocka Flame Shooting Investigation Continues

Rapper tweets, ‘nothing is wrong with my health,’ following the incident. By Gil Kaufman Waka Flocka Flame Photo: MTV News Rapper Waka Flocka Flame escaped unhurt from a gun battle that erupted outside his tour bus in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, and police are still on the hunt for the assailants. TMZ reported that Waka (born Juaquin Malphurs) was outside his bus when two cars pulled up next to it in the parking lot of Car Stereo Warehouse and opened fire, with four shots hitting the bus. According to an eyewitness, Waka’s security team shot back at the cars and struck at least one of them. Waka, 24, was not hurt in the incident, but was detained by police, who questioned him and three other men after the shoot-out. The rapper tweeted to his followers a short time later, writing “To my fans N world, I’m good, nothing is wrong with my health … See y’all in Cali for all-star #im1realassperson.” The Charlotte Observer reported that the shooting occurred around 4 p.m. as the “No Hands” MC was talking to fans and having his picture taken with them while the stereo on his bus was getting an upgrade. One person was shot in the shoulder, though police have not identified who that victim is. At press time, authorities did not have a motive for the shooting and were reviewing video surveillance recordings from outside the store for clues, but had not charged anyone in the incident. A spokesperson for the Charlotte Police Department could not be reached for comment at press time and the rapper’s spokesperson had not yet returned requests for comment. This isn’t the first time Waka ‘s been involved in gunfire. In January 2010 the rapper was shot in the arm while fighting at a carwash in Georgia over his jewelry. The Atlanta MC turned himself in last month following a December raid at his home that also netted mentor Gucci Mane. He was booked on charges including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license. Kanye, Jay-Z Single ‘H.A.M.’ To Drop Tuesday

Song is first offering from upcoming joint album, Watch the Throne. By Jayson Rodriguez Kanye West Photo: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images It seems that in the midst of partying in Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve, Kanye West got a bit ahead of himself. ‘Ye announced that his joint album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, would be coming in one week, leaving plenty of folks puzzled as to how a high-powered collaboration could arrive with so little marketing. But on Thursday night, West set the record straight: “1.11.11,” he tweeted in a message that was accompanied by a promotional picture for his and Hov’s single “H.A.M.” The track is the first offering — scheduled for Tuesday, January 11 — from the pair’s highly touted project, which originated as an EP but quickly expanded into a full album of material from the two. “H.A.M.” is rumored to include production by Lex Luger , the upstart beatsmith who was responsible for some of 2010’s biggest anthems, from Rick Ross’ “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” to Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard in Da Paint.” Although the artwork for the single doesn’t suggest it, there’s speculation that “H.A.M.” is an acronym for “Hatin’ Ass Muthaf—as.” The “H.A.M.” artwork (designed by Riccardo Tisci) features images of crowns mixed with barking dogs and a simple message: “Kanye. Jay-Z. Watch the Throne. Coming soon.” As of press time, no date for Watch the Throne has been slated, but sources close to the project have informed MTV News of a tentative March release. Waka Flocka Flame Released From Jail

Atlanta rapper posts bond Wednesday after turning himself in for weapons and drug charges. By Mawuse Ziegbe Waka Flocka Flame (file) Photo: Vallery Jean/ FilmMagic Waka Flocka Flame was released from custody Wednesday (January 5) after turning himself in for an array of weapons and drug charges earlier this week. Deputy Fielder of Georgia’s Henry County Sherriff’s Office confirmed to MTV News that the Atlanta rapper, born Juaquin Malphurs, was at released at 3:33 p.m. after posting $31,950 bond. Waka turned himself in to authorities Monday after his home was raided and his manager-mom Deb Antney and his So Icey mentor Gucci Mane were briefly detained. The “No Hands” rapper was booked on several charges, including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license. Antney has told MTV News that despite reports the raid was part of an investigation into a prostitution organization, Waka was not involved in that type of activity. “It had nothing to do with prostitution,” Antney said last month. “The weapons they found were licensed weapons. There was under an ounce of marijuana, but it was nothing but a blunt. The other drugs were medication that was in Waka’s room from when he got hurt,” Antney said, referencing the “O Let’s Do It” spitter’s shooting in January 2010 . Waka has staunchly denied that he’s involved in any illegal activity, maintaining that he has no plans to dip into street dealings now that he’s a hitmaking hip-hop star. “Why would I rap and go try to street gang bang? That’s hustling backwards,” he insisted in December. “Why would I wanna rap all around the world and then go hit the streets and gang bang? I’m a rapper, I’m not a [gang-banger]. How can you gang bang and be a rapper? I don’t understand that. I would love to find out where their information is coming from. I can’t wait.” Related Videos Exclusive: Waka Flocka Flame Details Shooting Related Artists Waka Flocka Flame

Waka Flocka Flame Arrested On Drug, Weapons Charges

Arrest stems from a raid on his Atlanta home last month. By Kara Warner Waka Flocka Flame Photo: Henry County Sheriff’s Office Rapper Waka Flocka Flame turned himself in to authorities in Atlanta on Monday (January 3) following last month’s raid on his home . Flocka was booked on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license. According to TMZ , Waka’s mother and manager, Deb Antney, said the rapper turned himself in because “he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.” The rapper’s arrest stemmed from a warrant issued after a raid on his home in Atlanta last month, during which authorities were said to be investigating a prostitution organization but instead uncovered drugs and guns on the premises. Antney, who was home at the time of the raid, along with Waka associate Gucci Mane, fiercely denied the prostitution allegations. Although Antney and Mane were detained while police searched the home, neither party was charged. “It had nothing to do with prostitution,” Antney told MTV News. “The weapons they found were licensed weapons. There was under an ounce of marijuana, but it was nothing but a blunt. The other drugs were medication that was in Waka’s room from when he got hurt,” Antney said, referring to Waka Flocka Flame’s shooting last year . During a sit-down with radio station Hot 93.7 in Hartford, Connecticut, after the raid, Waka denied he was involved in any shady dealings, maintaining he has no plans to juggle life in the streets and the spotlight. “Why would I rap and go try to street gang bang? That’s hustling backwards. Why would I wanna rap all around the world and then go hit the streets and gang bang? I’m a rapper, I’m not a [gang-banger]. How can you gang-bang and be a rapper? I don’t understand that,” he said. “I would love to find out where their information is coming from. I can’t wait.” The “No Hands” rapper, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, is reportedly being held on $31,950 bond. A hearing is set for Tuesday. Related Artists Waka Flocka Flame
