Florida Man Writes Apology Letter To Judge After Fleeing The Courtroom To Do This…

Florida Man Escapes Courtroom To Prove His Innocence A Florida man orchestrated an escape from the courtroom during one of his trial hearings…but he says it was all in the interest in helping out his defense team. Via MailOnline : Dayonte Resiles, a 22-year-old from Broward County, Florida, is accused in the stabbing death of Jill Halliburton Su, 59, a member of the wealthy Halliburton family, during a home invasion robbery in September 2014. This past July 15, Resiles escaped from a courtroom during a hearing in the trial, triggering a six-day manhunt. Resiles jumped out of a jury box and ran from a courtroom around 9:30am, breaking free of his handcuffs and shackles and ditching his gray prison jumpsuit in a hallway. It was later determined that he received help from his girlfriend and three others as part of a plot that had been planned during jailhouse calls and visits. Following his recapture, Resiles wrote a letter to the judge hearing his case. An apologetic Resiles insisted that his intention was to gather evidence that would prove his innocence. ‘I hope you don’t take it personal because your (sic) one judge that I have great respect for,’ he wrote to Judge Raag Singhal. ‘I felt I was at a dead end with nowhere to turn to,’ he wrote. ‘I tried to appeal to everyone to prove to them I was innocent but my voice went unheard.’ ‘When I escaped, my whole reason was to gather enough info on my case to prove my innocence,’ Resiles writes. On September 8, 2014, the body of Halliburton Su was found by her oldest son, who was sent to check up on the house when her husband couldn’t access the home’s surveillance cameras at work. It’s believed that Resiles broke in the house through a rear window to rob the home, but ran into Su and killed her in the process. How much of that time on the outside do you think this guy was REALLY using to do CSI work and research on his case? Continue reading

In White Folks News: Failed Football Player Tim Tebow Signs Minor League Contract With The Mets

Tim Tebow Signs Minor League Contract With The Mets 29-year-old former football player Tim Tebow just signed a minor league contract with The Mets reports NY Times : The Mets’ instructional league season will have a bit more buzz than usual this month. When minor leaguers report for extra work in Port St. Lucie, Fla., probably within two weeks, a former Heisman Trophy winner will be among them. Tim Tebow, who turned 29 last month and last played baseball as a junior in high school, signed a minor league contract with the Mets on Thursday morning. Tebow, who is listed as an outfielder, hit .448 as a junior at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Fla., in 2005. Then he concentrated on football and soon embarked on a celebrated career at the University of Florida and a less successful stint in the N.F.L. with the Denver Broncos and the Jets. His turn to baseball attracted 28 of the 30 teams to a workout on Aug. 30 at the University of Southern California. Tebow, who throws and bats left-handed, has more of a football figure at 6 feet 3 inches and 255 pounds and has encountered widespread skepticism from people in and out of the game. But he needed only one team to believe enough in him to sign him. In the Mets, who wear the same shade of blue and orange as his old college team, he found a taker. Twitter Continue reading

BOSSIP Exclusive: Judge Clears Scott Storch’s Massive Bankruptcy Debts

Music Producer Owed $4.3 Million In Debts Scott Storch can breathe a little easier about his financial situation after a federal court judge discharged the majority of his more than $4 million debt in his bankruptcy, which means most of his money problems have been wiped clean. Last year, Storch – who was once worth an estimated $70 million for his work in producing music for Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and many more – filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and claimed he had less than $4,000 in assets to his name. His assets include $100 cash, $500 in clothing, a watch worth $3,000, several music companies valued at $0 and no other property. But his liabilities came out to $4,393,679, including $105,000 owed on an automobile, $46,000 in legal bills, thousands unpaid to collection agencies, a $1.5 million judgment plus another $2.1 million judgment from lawsuits, $68,000 to Mandatory Entertainment, $294 to a collection attorney for Direct TV, $22,000 the state of Florida for unpaid taxes and various other creditors. Storch listed his occupation as musician/producer and claimed to bring in $4,000 a month. But he said he spent $1,200 on food and household supplies, $400 on childcare and education costs, $100 on clothing and dry cleaning, $200 on personal care products, $250 on medical bills, $400 on transportation and $800 on entertainment – leaving him with $650 after he pays all his expenses. The music producer hit financial troubles back in 2009 and filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy claiming he had assets in the $0-50,000 range but liabilities in the $50,000-$100,000 range. The case was dismissed because Storch didn’t fill out the required documents in the bankruptcy. Back in the early 2000’s the music producer was worth an estimated $70 million dollars, but he said he went broke because of a raging cocaine habit and living the high life. He also lost his mega-mansion to foreclosure and was slapped with numerous lawsuits over unpaid bills. Then on August 30th, Storch finally got some good news about his finances with the federal court judge discharging his massive debts. The order will wipe clean the majority of his $4.3 million debt, with exceptions being most back taxes, child support obligations and other debts related to criminal restitution or fines. Storch has been given a fresh start to rebuild his finances but the case will continue on with the trustee figuring out how to pay back his many creditors.

Bad Luck Chuck: 31-Year-Old Florida Man Survives Lightning Strike, Spider, Alligator And Snake Bites

31-Year-Old Florida Man Survives Lightning Strike, Venomous Spider And Snake Bites A Florida man might want to change his name to “Bad Luck Chuck” after a series of unfortunate events turned his life all the way around reports AP News : Kyle Cook can’t decide whether he’s really unlucky or incredibly fortunate. Over the past four years, the 31-year-old Florida man has survived a lightning strike, a bite by a venomous spider and — most recently — an attack by a rattlesnake in his backyard in Lakeland, southwest of Orlando. “I need to get a (protective) bubble,” Cook told The Ledger. His father, Mike Cook, sees it another way. “He’s a walking Murphy’s law,” the elder Cook said. “I walk on the other side of the mall.” On Aug. 11, the younger Cook was almost finished cutting the grass at his family’s rented house when he heard a loud rattling sound. First he thought it was the buzzing of cicadas. Then, he thought the push mower might be making the noise so he shut it off. That’s when he saw the snake coiled about 3 feet from his right foot. He estimated it was about 5 feet long and had a girth the size of a soda can. Even before the latest incidents, Cook said he’s had many misadventures. He once got bitten by an alligator that he “accidentally” caught while fishing. And he was bitten by his friend’s Burmese python, which he was trying to feed. “It’s been a rough four years,” he said. “Maybe the higher up … is trying to get your attention that maybe something is going wrong. Or maybe I’ve simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time my whole life.” Murphy’s Law in the flesh! Continue reading

Disney Guests WARNED Staff About Alligator Sightings Right Before Attack

Two-year-old Lane Graves was filling up his bucket with water for a sand castle when he was attacked at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s beach. Now, in an official investigation conducted by The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, two witness accounts change almost everything about what happened on the night of June 14th. Shawna Giacomini of North Carolina said that she was at the same beach at 8:15 p.m. with her two daughters, about 15 minutes before the attack “The daughters saw an alligator about 5 feet from shore, near the marsh,” according to the report. “The eldest daughter told the WDW AV/Movie Coordinator about the alligator. The person she told ran to a man whose shirt said ‘Coordinator’ and told him about the alligator. “The Giacomini’s went to the store and when they returned, the attack had already occurred.” Another guest, Afred Smith sent an email to the investigators on June 15th.  He recalled seeing (then taking a photo of) an alligator from his balcony at the Grand Floridian just before 7:45 p.m.   Smith wrote that he pointed the alligator out to an Disney employee, and just before the attack occurred , he saw children wading ankle deep in the lagoon while a screening of Zootopia was being shown on the beach. Just as he was going out to warn everyone on the beach, Smith said he heard Graves’ mother “scream.” The Graves family had stated back in June that they were not looking to sue Walt Disney World over what happened.  However, these new accounts of possible neglect on resort employee’s part could change everything. “Melissa and I are broken,” Matt and his wife said said in a statement after the toddler’s body was found. “We will solely be focused on the future health of our family and will not be pursuing a lawsuit against Disney.” Matt Graves tried to wrestle his son’s body out of the alligator’s jaws, but the animal was able to swim away with its victim.  Lane’s body was found the next day under 6-7 feet of water by police officers.

Lou Pearlman, Crooked Creator Of N*SYNC And Backstreet Boys, Dies In Prison At Age 62

Lou Pearlman Dies In Prison While Serving 25-Year Sentence Lou Pearlman, the innovative yet extremely crooked manager that masterminded mega-acts like Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC , passed away while serving a 25-year prison sentence in connection with running a $300 million ponzi scheme yesterday. He was 62. Via Orlando Sentinel : Boy band promoter Lou Pearlman, known for launching groups such as the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSync, died in prison Friday while serving a 25-year sentence for one of the largest Ponzi schemes in Florida history, a federal inmate database shows. Pearlman cashed in on the boy-band craze, building an empire of acts around the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It collapsed in 2006 after he was exposed for running a massive $300 million Ponzi scheme. He declared bankruptcy in 2007 and was convicted of fraud in 2008. The cause of death for the 62-year-old was not disclosed Saturday. Calls to the Federal Bureau of Prisons were not returned. The Orlando entrepreneur is credited with starting the ’90s boy-band craze and managed huge acts including the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, O-Town and the Chippendales before the scheme was uncovered. After the scheme was uncovered, hundreds of lawsuits were filed in the case, including one by the Backstreet Boys, and some victims were taken for their life savings. Pearlman was caught by FBI agents in Bali, Indonesia while running from creditors and regulators. He was living under the false name, A. Incognito Johnson. He was expelled from the country and arrested in Guam. Incognito Johnson??? He sounds like he lowkey wanted to be caught. This guy was crooked as they come, but the late 90’s and early 2000’s wouldn’t have been the same without him… WireImage
