Happy National Tequila Day from The Hollywood Gossip! In related news, tomorrow is National Call in Sick Day! Just kidding. That doesn’t exist. Not that anyone knew National Tequila Day existed before Facebook made fake holidays like this possible, but who cares! Now that you do know about it, you can jump in and celebrate with alcoholic ease. All you have to do to get in the spirit is drink, and that we support. Tequila is only made in Mexico, and must contain 51 percent blue agave in order to be real tequila. It’s not strictly for imbibing, either. Think about it … Ever try chipotle roasted salmon splashed with margarita marmalade ? Or grilled corn drenched in tequila-lime butter? Or perhaps tequila fettuccine? No? Okay, well, we digress. We know what you came for. Just try this mango margarita recipe and call it a day. Then share your favorite embarrassing tequila story with us in the comments!
A Michigan Burger King franchise apparently feels that when it comes to its slogan “Have It Your Way,” the way four-year-olds want it is really baked. A family found a marijuana pipe in their four-year-old’s kid’s meal box, according to reports. Instead of a Jungle Book toy, they got a glass bowl. Tight. The boy’s grandpa went to the Dundee, Mich., restaurant to pick up his burger, then discovered that fries weren’t the only item it came with on the side. Dundee Police Chief David Uhl said the pipe was full, too: “He handed the kid’s meal that he had gotten at Burger King to his 4-year-old grandson and when they opened it up they found a loaded marijuana pipe.” The boy’s parents were “on top of it,” he said, and removed the piece, which a 23-year-old employee hid in the meal box earlier while he was at work. It was then inadvertently filled with food and given to the young customer, and the employee was charged with drug and paraphernalia possession. This gets stranger still. After making the discovery, grandfather noted a “suspicious” car in the parking lot and wrote down the license plate number. The kids in the car, 18 and 20, turned out to be friends of the BK employee who attempted to warn him when cops were called in to handle the matter. They were arrested and charged with drug possession as well. Burger King said in a statement: “This Burger King restaurant is owned and operated by a franchisee who enforces a zero-tolerance drug policy.” “The franchise management team is cooperating fully with [police]. BK and the franchisee extend a sincere apology to the guests involved in this incident.” Silver lining for BK? They’re far from alone in this regard: A Wendy’s employee was seen guzzling Frosty from the machine . A Taco employee was photographed licking shells . Golden Corral stores meat by the dumpster . Taylor Chapman went on a racist rant against Dunkin Donuts employees after not receiving … check that, DD actually handled that one well.
A trio of young Taco Bell patrons from Kentwood, Michigan – Kennidi Rue, Luke Postma and Grant Kruse – just earned some major karma points. And hopefully free Doritos Locos tacos for a month. Somehow finding approximately $3,600 in one of the fast food joint’s drive-thru to-go bags, they decided to return the cash to the restaurant. “I opened my bag to get my food and it ended up being three bags of money – a lot of money – and then another wad of like a ton of twenties,” Rue said. “We added it up. We were like, ‘What do we do with this now?'” “Of course, initially, you want to keep it , of course. But then you’re like, ‘What’s the right thing to do?’ We were saying we’d never feel guilty about bringing it back.” “It obviously wasn’t ours. So it’s not like we were losing anything in giving it back. So, we just thought we’d bring it back and just do it the right way.” According to the manager, this bizarre fast food find wasn’t the result of any shady money laundering or drug deal gone awry a la Breaking Bad . It was the result of an accidental act by a lone Michigan employee – who apparently wept when the cash was returned – and who followed protocol. Mostly. It is store policy for takeout bags to be where the franchise’s cash deposits are placed before they go to the bank, according to the restaurant. In this case, $3,600 went out the wrong door. Luckily, it ended up in the hands of these three.

Georgia history books report 458 lynchings there from 1882-1930, making for “a permanent bruise on the Peach State,” a Savannah Morning News op-ed reads. Better make it 459 after the treatment Paula Deen has gone through, her hometown paper says, after the treatment she’s received over the past few weeks. We’re not paraphrasing, that’s their word of choice. The opinion piece states : “Savannah’s celebrity chef has been lynched – figuratively and publicly in the court of public opinion, and without a full and fair accounting of the facts.” Why? Mostly because the 66-year-old master of comfort food recipes and self-made mogul “said ‘no’ to the equivalent of a shakedown.” The editorial uses the lynching metaphor as “a reminder that justice should be dispensed in court, not at the end of a rope” or “by money-grubbing lawyers.” When Deen refused to pay $1.25 million in hush money to a former employee of her brother’s restaurant, the paper says, “the lynch mob began forming.” How bad was the effort to bilk and slander Paula? Savannah attorney S. Wesley Woolf reportedly wrote to Deen’s lawyer, on behalf of Lisa Jackson : “Exposure of the racist and sexist culture of her corporate and personal life is going to permanently, and irreparably, damage the value of the brand,” “If we are unable to settle, the Complaint will not be quietly filed. I am making arrangements for a press conference on the day of the filing.” “I have identified the journalist for the New York Times who covers civil rights matters and he will be provided a pre-filing exclusive.” “A nationwide press release will be issued to the major networks, newspapers, newsmagazines and news websites across the country.” The Times didn’t break the June 19 story about Deen using racial slurs (in the distant past) – the National Enquirer did – but the story spread rapidly. The Morning News notes that Jackson’s goal was “whipping a mob into a frenzy,” and calls it “a lynching for our times,” a term it insists is fitting. None of this absolves Deen from using a racist slur, the paper says, but “there is such as thing as punishment fitting the crime … this doesn’t come close.” “These rope burns were undeserved.” Do you agree? Was Deen the victim of a virtual lynch mob? Or did she deserve what she got? Share your comments with us and vote in our survey below: Should Deen have been fired? Yes, there is no excuse for what she did. No, cut the woman some slack people! No, I just like her food, who cares what she says/does! View Poll »

In news that comes as a surprise and yet somehow not, Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” music video has been parodied! By dogs! Singing “We Can Bark!” The brilliance of this canine spoof is in the level detail. Take a look: We Can Bark – Miley Cyrus Parody “I’m a doggie, I can do what I want,” the dogs declare. “I’m a puppy, I can do what I want / I can lick what I want, bark when I want, roll where I want.” Lyrically and visually, the comparisons are obvious. Some of the best: “Maltey Cyrus” ditches her collar; Miley removes her bracelet A pug eats a big sandwich of money, just like some dude did That weird ass skull made of fries is now made of dog treats A pug licks a stuffed pug; Miley mauls a Miley-esque doll Dog kibble spelling BARK; alphabet soup spelling TWERK Speaking of Miley Cyrus Twerking … the dogs hold their own Neither can be tamed, in different senses of the word Watch Miley’s original, much-taked-about video below for comparison: Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop (Official Music Video)
Kim Kardashian may be obsessed with losing her baby weight . But she isn’t stressing out over it. Tracy Anderson – the trainer who has worked on a couple of Kim Kardashian workout videos – told Us Weekly that her client is in “baby heaven” and super motivated to get fit once again. “It’s a tough time, and a lot of women feel like it’s a huge mountain to climb to get back, but Kim, surprisingly, has had the totally opposite reaction to other moms,” Anderson says , adding: “She’s like, ‘We’re going to be so good. It’s fun, I feel great!’ She just loves the whole process… She’s excited to get started, but she’s really calm about it all.” Anderson also works with Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Bethenny Frankel, and Shiri Appleby. She says Kim will need to wait a few more weeks before really getting serious, but Tracy has a plan already for how to get that bikini body back. “In the beginning, it’s key getting the deep abdominal muscles back and making sure that you get the strength back in the right layers. “Kim is super motivated. She’s all in. Pregnancy is actually an opportunity for women to look better than ever. And [Kim] will.” Especially when there’s likely a seven figure check waiting for her to pose on the cover of a tabloid in a couple months.
Lots of people still love them some Paula Deen recipes . Ballantine Books does not seem to care, however. The chef’s rough month just got worse with the loss of a lucrative publishing deal, despite the fact that her latest cookbook has soared to #1 on Amazon. Ballantine announced it would not publish her upcoming effort, announcing that it also made the “difficult decision to cancel” her current best-seller. The division of Random House also announced it is nixing a five-book deal it signed with Deen last year, believed to be worth millions of dollars. The decision came after companies including Sears, J.C. Penney, Walmart, Target and Kmart announced they would stop selling her products, including books. “When Walmart, Target and J.C. Penney all announced they are discontinuing their Paula Deen business, including books, it is awfully tough,” said a source. “This was purely a business decision .” Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up has actually experienced a boost in sales since she was fired by Food Network . Deen’s fall from grace began when a transcript of a lawsuit deposition was released and showed that she admitted to using racial slurs in the last. The admission created a firestorm and although Deen issued multiple video apologies, she has watched her lucrative business deals fall like dominos. On Wednesday, she made a tearful and what seemed to be sincerely apologetic appearance on the Today show, but even that did not stop the bleeding. Deen is absolutely furious with Lisa Jackson , the woman suing her for discrimination, and alleged in court papers that the chef made racist remarks. While Paula admitted using epithets in the past, she denies Jackson’s allegations and blames what she sees as a bogus lawsuit for her downfall. Talk to THG: Would you fire Paula Deen? Yes, there is no excuse for what she did. No, cut the woman some slack people! No, I just like her food, who cares what she says/does! View Poll »
