This has the potential to be EPIC! Prepare yourself for another barrage of tiger blood and winning jokes — Comedy Central announced this morning that its newest roast target is none other than the bitchin’ rock star from Mars himself, Charlie Sheen. The ‘Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen’ will air on September 19 — the same night as ‘Two and a Half Men’ premieres its first episode with Ashton Kutcher. Coincidence? “You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this Roast for a while,” Sheen said in a statement. “It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic.” The idea isn’t entirely out of left field, considering that Roastmaster General, Jeffrey Ross hopped onstage to burn Sheen during his ‘Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour’ earlier this year — saving audiences on the latter part of the cross-country tour from Sheen’s rambling, unfocused stories. Charlie is going to be one of the easiest roast targets EVER, but we’re gonna tune in to laugh nonetheless! Source
One of your parents’ favorite singers delivered a stellar performance at the 2011 Essence Music Festival on Saturday. She also dropped a bombshell about her drug use… something we might have guessed, but wouldn’t have expected her to be so honest about. Do you know who it was? Chaka Khan made her show at the Superdome on Saturday quite the experience for her fans. Taking to the main stage in the New Orleans Superdome after El Debarge, the 58-year-old not only treated fans to a high-energy performance but touched on her past drug addiction in the midst of her musical set, which included ‘I Feel For You,’ ‘Through the Wire,’ ‘I’m Every Woman’ and ‘Aint Nobody.’ Although Khan’s performance set may have been lighthearted, when it came to the matter of her road to recovery from drug addiction, she sang a different tune. “This next song is a song I wrote but I don’t remember writing it because I was high,” she admitted of the song [‘Angel’]. “That was then, this is now, I’m seven years clean.” Seven years though? Not to knock her accomplishment, but that’s mighty recent, isn’t it? What do you think she was on?? Source
Did they really think they could pull this off? An inmate who tried to hide in a suitcase to escape jail was sent packing back to his cell, Mexican authorities said. The man, aided by his 19-year-old common law wife, was busted as she tried to wheel him out of a prison in Chetumal in the Caribbean state of Quintana Roo, police said. Juan Ramirez Tijerina’s bungled prison break followed his conjugal visit with Maria del Mar Arjona. Tijerina is serving a 20-year stretch for illegal weapons possession stemming from a conviction in 2007. Police said Arjona looked nervous as she struggled to pull the suitcase, which also looked to be unusually heavy. When officers stopped her and opened the case, they found Tijerina curled up in the fetal position. Arjona now faces prison time for her role in the attempted escape, authorities said. Silly girl! Now she’s going to prison too! Give it up to the horny toads … they get an ‘A’ for effort. Comedy! Source
Shelly-O took to Massachusetts to rally up support for her husband’s second term. The lovely First Lady expressed her loving concern for her husband and highlighted Obama’s dedication to the nation and somehow flawlessly fused concern and support. Like the POTUS, she’s equally powerful with her words … and convincing. First lady Michelle Obama gave a fascinating insight into just how heavily the weight of office rests on her husband’s shoulders and how the job of president has taken it’s toll. Speaking at a fund-raiser for the Democratic National Committee in Massachusetts she told of his total dedication to the job and told how she worries about the increasing number of lines on his face She said: ‘I see the worry creasing his face. I hear the passion and determination in his voice. ‘You won’t believe what these folks are going through;’ he told me that last night. “‘Michelle, it is not right. We’ve got to fix this. We have to do more,’”‘Barack always reminds me that we are playing a long game.’ He reminds me, as I said to you, too, that change is slow.’He reminds me that change doesn’t happen all at once, but that if we keep showing up, if we keep fighting the good fight, doing what we know is right, then eventually we will get there, because the truth is we always have in this country. We always have.’ Michelle Obama said that when her husband first told her he was planning to run for president she had serious doubts about how it would affect their young family. She added: ‘I was proud of the work that he was doing in the Senate. And I thought that he would make a phenomenal president. ‘That wasn’t the issue. ‘But, like a lot of folks, I still had some cynicism about politics. And with two young daughters at home, I was worried about the toll that a presidential campaign would take on our family. ‘So it took some convincing on Barack’s part. And by ‘some,’ I mean a lot; he’s still paying back.’ Mrs Obama said that it was going on the campaign trail in 2008 and getting out an meeting voters – that led to her having a change of heart. She added: ‘It’s about meeting people one-on-one, hearing what’s going on in their lives.’ ‘But I think that the last four years have shown us the truth of what Barack has always said: That if any child in this country is left behind, then that matters to all of us, even if she’s not our daughter, and even if he’s not our son. ‘If any family in this country struggles, then we cannot be fully content with our own family’s good fortune, because that is not what we do in this country.’ Awe, she loves her some him! It’s clear that she supports him and holds him down when the press and Capitol Hill politicians are trying to sabotage his agenda. Every good man needs a Shelly-O. Source
Looks as if O’Beezy is stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one: Thanks to Saturday’s historic vote in the New York state senate, same-sex marriage is now legal in six states, but the battle to extend it to all American citizens will still be long and difficult. The fight over gay marriage will be played out in both America’s courts as well as its political chambers, as politicians have for years used it as fodder to rally support one way or another. It’s been a tricky issue for President Barack Obama, who has largely tiptoed around it, all while openly courting the backing of the gay and lesbian community. After the New York vote, an Obama spokesman gave the line the president has been using repeatedly when asked about gay marriage, which avoids any direct advocacy. “The President has long believed that gay and lesbian couples deserve the same rights and legal protections as straight couples,” White House spokesman Shin Inouye said, according to ABC News. “That’s why he has called for repeal of the so-called ‘Defense of Marriage Act’ and determined that his Administration would no longer defend the constitutionality of DOMA in the courts. The states should determine for themselves how best to uphold the rights of their own citizens. The process in New York worked just as it should.” Discuss… Source

Damn! What has the world come to? A felony … for spanking your child? Everyone has their own method of disciplining their children but is a simple spanking abuse? “You don’t spank children today,” said Judge Jose Longoria. “In the old days, maybe we got spanked, but there was a different quarrel. You don’t spank children.” Rosalina Gonzales had pleaded guilty to a felony charge of injury to a child for what prosecutors had described as a “pretty simple, straightforward spanking case.” They noted she didn’t use a belt or leave any bruises, just some red marks. As part of the plea deal, Gonzales will serve five years probation, during which time she’ll have to take parenting classes, follow CPS guidelines, and make a $50 payment to the Children’s Advocacy Center. She was arrested back in December after the child’s paternal grandmother noticed red marks on the child’s rear end. The grandmother took the girl, who was two years-old at the time, to the hospital to be checked out. Gonzales who doesn’t have custody of the child or her other two children, is trying to get them back, but until CPS feels she is ready the kids are living with their paternal grandmother. Hmm, wonder if the kids were taken as a result of the “spanking.” Guess it’s “time-out” for unruly little tikes now. Source
Okay, we have to draw the line somewhere with this foolishness. New potential Twitter-related troubles arose for Rep. Anthony Weiner on Friday, after Delaware police reportedly spoke with a 17-year-old high school girl about “direct online communications” she’s had with the disgraced congressman. Weiner confirmed the communications late in the day, but denied that anything inappropriate took place. The police “asked to speak with the girl’s mother about the daughter’s contact with Weiner,” Fox News reported, adding that one of the network’s reporters happened to be there when the cops showed up. The visit by the police was later confirmed by POLITICO. The girl, whose name was withheld by Fox but who told the reporter she’s “doing OK,” left with her mother and the police, the network said, although it was unclear if there was a further conversation somewhere else. A Weiner spokeswoman emailed a statement in response to the reports that confirmed his contact with the girl, but denied anything was amiss. “According to Congressman Weiner, his communications with this person were neither explicit nor indecent,” said the statement. “They were made aware of an alleged contact between Congressman Anthony Weiner and an area teen,” said New Castle County police spokeswoman Officer Tracey Duffy, according to the Post. “The teen has been interviewed and disclosed no information regarding any criminal activity.” Fox reported that “sources close the student” said the Delaware girl was among his thousands of Twitter followers, signing up for his feed after watching him speak during a trip to the Capitol with her school on April 1. He reportedly sent her a direct message over Twitter on April 13. It was unclear whether there was any further communication. There’s no reason a grown-a** man should be direct messaging a teenager! There is a fine line between perversion and pedophilia … let’s hope he didn’t cross it. SMH Source
These big banks are out of control with their disgusting practices. This guy is in the “sandbox” fighting a mindless war that cannot be won and if he’s fortunate enough to come home, he might not have one? In August, Tim Collette’s son Aaron will spend 15 days on leave from Iraq. Aaron is 20 years old, and he’s been in the Army for about a year and a half. A few weeks ago, his squad was hit with an improvised explosive device. Everybody survived, but it frightened both the soldier and his family. The Army told Aaron he could go anywhere he wanted. And of all the places in the world he could visit, Aaron wants to go home. But Aaron might not have a home to come home to. Collette has been defending his house from foreclosure since 2008. It’s currently scheduled to be auctioned off on June 20. “I just want him to come home and know he can be safe for 15 days,” Collette told HuffPost. “I don’t want him thinking about coming home and having it not be there.” Tim said negotiating with his bank, JPMorgan Chase, has been a living nightmare. When he first asked for help in 2008, he had not missed any payments. At the time, his mortgage was being handled by Washington Mutual, a subprime lending specialist Chase purchased in the fall of 2008. Collette said WaMu told him he would only qualify for a loan modification if he missed two of his $1,100 monthly mortgage payments. So he missed the payments. And the bank began trying to foreclose on him. “They told me that you can’t qualify for a loan modification without missing two payments, so I missed two payments, but I haven’t gotten the modification,” he said. The bank has repeatedly lost Collette’s mortgage paperwork and he receives different, often conclicting advice almost every time he communicates with Chase. After months of wrangling, the bank agreed to a “forbearance plan” that cut Tim’s payments from $1,100 to $600. In 2010, after making 13 months of payments, an unexpected bill arrived on Collette’s doorstep. Chase wanted the $500 a month differential back, plus penalty fees: $9,000 in total. Collette could afford to pay $1,100. But he didn’t have $9,000. After thinking he had arranged for at least temporary relief, Chase suddenly demanded that he pay up, or get out. JPMorgan Chase and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, have spent months apologizing for illegally foreclosing on the homes of active-duty military members currently fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Soldiers have an extra layer of legal protection in mortgage lending. Even if you miss payments, a bank cannot evict your family while you fight for your country. “He worries about it,” Collette said. “I don’t talk to him about it when we talk, but he knows what’s going on and he shouldn’t have to think about this when he’s trying to stay alive.” “A lot of us going through this foreclosure stuff now, we paid our bills,” he said. “We got into our homes because we worked for it, and when the economy goes down we just want a hand . . . We gave the banks a bailout and they just stuffed the money in their pockets.” They know a large percentage of those foreclosures are fraudulent anyway. SMH at these banks … Source
