Flag On The Play: Virginia Restaurant Uses Colin Kaepernick’s 49ers Jersey As A Door Mat

Virginia Restaurant Uses Kapernick’s Jersey As A Door Mat 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has made plenty of admirers and haters after refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance during NFL games. One Virginia Beach restaurant has declared war on the athlete by using his jersey as a foot mat for patrons to rub their dirty shoes when entering the eatery. A Black patron first noted the disrespectful deed on Facebook: Customer James Perry brought light to the restaurant’s foul by saying: “Racism is real people and yes this is a racist act…an overall disgusting one!!!” Do you think the VA restaurant is just exercising its free speech like Colin or guilty of racism like the customer claims? The Movement Lives On: Colin Kaepernick Supports High School Football Team’s ‘Die In’ During National Anthem

Kaepernick came to Oakland, CA. He kneeled on one knee, players laid on their back with hands up during the Anthem. pic.twitter.com/Cae4sTopac — Kirk Morrison (@kirkmorrison) September 24, 2016 Kap’s Movement Is Starting To Grow Legs Colin Kaepernick might’ve really started something. The San Franciso 49ers QB visited Castlemont High School school in Oakland, California on Friday night. The players and coaches organized a “die in,” where the players laid with their backs on the ground and their hands in the air during the national anthem. This isn’t the first time team the team has protested during the national anthem though. A week prior to Kaepernick’s visit the team kneeled down with their fists raised in the air before the game. You make a difference. This matters. Everything you do matters. Look out for one another, lift each other up. That’s what this is all about. I had to come support y’all, because the same way y’all took a stand and stood with me, I had to come out here and stand with y’all. So I appreciate what y’all did. I love y’all. Y’all my brothers — I’m here with you.” Do you agree with the high school’s method of protest? What do you think of so many high school football players and coaches taking to Kaepernick’s message?

SMH: Lawyer Demands Eric Garner’s Children Take DNA Tests Before Dividing $7 Million Settlement

Lawyer Demands Eric Garner’s Children Take DNA Tests Before Settlement The lawyer for Eric Garner’s illegitimate child has demanded that the kids of Garner undergo DNA tests to prove that they are his before dividing the $7 million settlement reports The Grio : Lorraine Coyle, who represents 2-year-old Legacy Miller, made the shocking demand on Wednesday. During a hearing behind closed doors at the Staten Island Surrogate Court, Coyle demanded the tests because Garner’s name does not appear on the birth certificates for the other children. Jonathan Moore, the Garner family’s lawyer, seemed shocked by what he called an “offensive” demand. “Why do that when there’s no reason to do that?” Moore asked the New York Daily News. “Everyone knows they are his children.” “I don’t think she (Coyle) would have said this if the Garner family had a different complexion,” Moore said. Coyle has argued that she is only doing her “due diligence” because she does not believe Esaw Garner’s reasoning for leaving her husband’s name off the birth certificates. Esaw Garner said that she had kicked Eric Garner out of the hospital because he was “getting on my nerves” when she was going into labor and added that as for the birth certificates, “It didn’t make any difference to him, he knew they were his kids.”

Did You Know: 67 People (And Counting) Have Been Killed By Cops Since Colin Kaepernick Began Anthem Protest

67 People Have Been Killed By Cops Since Kaepernick’s Protest How many people exactly have been murdered by police since NFL star Colin Kaepernick decided to protest the National Anthem? A lot more than people are willing to discuss reports HuffPo : At least 15 black people have died during encounters with the police since San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began protesting police violence by kneeling before NFL games, based on numbers compiled by The Guardian . Kaepernick’s decision to sit or take a knee during the national anthem first drew attention after his team’s Aug. 26 preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, when he told NFL.com that he was “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” Since then, Kaepernick’s continued protest has drawn considerable criticism from politicians, police unions, pundits, other professional athletes and many on social media who have opposed both his message and his method of conveying it. But the problem Kaepernick wants to highlight has continued. And on Monday, it was back in the news again, after police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, released multiple videos that showed the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher. Overall, police have killed at least 67 people since Kaepernick’s protest began, according to The Guardian’s database. Roughly 22 percent of the victims have been black. Police have killed more than 780 people so far in 2016, according to The Guardian’s numbers. At least 193 of those people ― or about 25 percent ― were black. Of the 15 black people killed since Kaepernick’s demonstration started, at least 11 were shot, according to The Washington Post’s tracker of fatal police shootings. The white officer who shot Crutcher, Betty Shelby, was placed on paid administrative leave while the department investigates the case ― another issue Kaepernick highlighted when he spoke out against police killings.
