It’s Lizzo Lovin’ Time: Teen Vogue Puts Full Figured Phenom On The Cover Of Their Music Issue

SplashNews Lizzo Is A Rockstar We All Should Know And Love We were over the moon to see one of our favorite “newer” artists, Lizzo , on the cover of the music issue of Teen Vogue. We love Lizzo because she’s super original, free spirited, fine as hell, with a bomb singing voice and dope raps… Inside the issue, Lizzo talks a lot about the body positivity she’s become famous for, as well as her thoughts on why it’s taken the industry THIS long to catch on to how amazing she is? Peep some excerpts: On Not Being Claimed “When I was in high school, I was a big girl with a cute face. So dudes liked me secretly, but they didn’t like me publicly. I never had a boyfriend because they didn’t want to claim me,” Lizzo says. “So now in this industry, I’m a big girl with a cute face and some cute music and I’m still being liked secretly and not claimed publicly.” On Her Struggle To Be Recognized “[People] will be like, ‘Lizzo’s my favorite new artist…why am I late for the Lizzo train?’” she says, growing serious. “You’re late, honey, but it’s not your fault. You’re late because I’m just at the back of the shelf. But I’m glad you’re here because you worked to find this.” On Learning To Embrace Herself “I didn’t love myself until I was 21,” she reveals. “Twenty-one was the worst year of my life.” She says that hitting rock bottom and “crawling out of the tunnel” helped to inform the Lizzo we know today, and she says the experience was intrinsically unfair. “Everyone shouldn’t have to hit rock bottom to love themselves,” she says. “That’s just the society we’re all unfortunately born in — the one where you have to hit your worst and hate yourself in order to love yourself? Those laws only exist because self-hate is so prevalent. Body positivity only exists because body negativity is the norm.” On Body Positivity “It’s bizarre to me that what I’m saying and doing is revolutionary, because it should be so innate and first-nature. Not even second-nature,” she says. “We should love ourselves first. We should look at our bodies as vehicles for success, and not a signifier of who you are, how good your pussy is, if dudes like you or not, or if you can fit certain clothes…that’s not what your body’s for.” On Gender/Sexuality “When it comes to sexuality or gender, I personally don’t ascribe to just one thing. I cannot sit here right now and tell you I’m just one thing,” she says. “That’s why the colors for LGBTQ+ are a rainbow! Because there’s a spectrum and right now we try to keep it black and white. That’s just not working for me.” Hit The Flip For More Lizzo

“Black Ink Chicago” Exclusive: Ryan Speaks On “Deading” Relationship With Old 9 Mag Staff, But Guess Who He May Reconcile With?!

VH1 9 Mag Founder Ryan Henry Speaks On His Rocky Relationships With His Former Staff And His Current Relationship Status The 4th Season of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” definitely got off to a rocky start, with 9 Mag now fractured between Ryan’s old team and his new one, so BOSSIP had to reach out and chop it up with Ryan Henry about what’s been going on since the end of Season 3, including whether there’s any hope of reconciliation and to learn whether or not he has managed to make things right with Rachel. BOSSIP: What have the reactions been like since the first episode of the season aired? Ryan Henry: The reactions have been all over the place. People have been with the show since Season 1. There’s a lot of different characters on the show and everyone is not gonna be in tune with whatever decision I decide to make. It’s been a ride though and there’s people who are still supporting from Season 1 and Season 2, so with Season 4 I really appreciate those people who are so supportive. BOSSIP: Glad to hear you’re holding up because that criticism can be hard to take. RH: I’m solid, I’m from Chicago. BOSSIP: Let’s get into the way the last season ended, how did you feel about Kat putting you on blast on TV? RH: People are gonna take it how they wanna take it. I don’t fault her for how she felt needed to go about it as a woman. I don’t have no hard feelings towards her I wish her the best. How did that affect your situation with Rachel off camera? RH: When things like that comes to light, I had to do what I needed to do to make sure things are right in my household. I’ve known Rachel 15 years of my life and she has my children. That’s not someone trying to make you act different, that’s just someone who cares about my life seeing something and wanting me to work on it for me to be better. Do you feel like Charmaine was disloyal? RH: I never felt that Charmaine was disloyal. I’m gonna give it to her just like I’d give it to Danielle. We brought you in the shop initially as Kat’s friends and when it was time for me to remove myself from those people, if they had to pick sides I couldn’t ask them to pick my side. If that woman and I weren’t in a comfortable space together I wouldn’t want her to come back and work whenever she wanted. She didn’t even live in Chicago, she lived in LA. So after we have a bad run in I’m not gonna say “Hey, come back and work whenever you want.” Like right now, we shouldn’t be working together. So for them to go against what I say for this business, that’s where I felt the disrespect. But that’s what I expect from them, those are Kat’s friends. In terms of the cast overall, who do you still have a relationship with? RH: Me and Phor, we went to high school together. That’s always been my brother, since before tattooing, and his brother Don had to handle what he had to do for business, but they always been my brothers. Even Danielle, I talked to Danielle, there’s no hard feelings. It looked like I just turned my back on everybody and they left me, but it gets hard over there too! There’s a lot that you’ll see on this new season. Did you want to clear the air at all, about the way the shop was destroyed? RH: You see what happened, you see what was implied, you only get 42 minutes to get a whole story on television. I would never admit to doing something as heinous as thatk, but you know things happen. If people wanna blame me for that, just like they’d try to blame me for something else, I ain’t locked up so, PROVE IT. Do you feel like “Black Ink” ruined 9Mag? RH: I don’t think it ruined 9 Mag. 9 Mag is the experience people get when they walk in to get a tattoo, it’s a great representation of Chicago and will continue to be that. I do feel like it ruined the relationships between people. That may be my fault because I brought people together to grow and be something better than themselves. Everybody can’t handle it. So what is the status of the new 9Mag? RH: Even in the first episode, what made people think it looked like I walked away, 9Mag is not that building, it’s wherever we take the experience, so stay tuned and you’ll see what’s coming for the new 9Mag. So is the shop open and ready right now? RH: I’m always working, but the shop will be open very soon and you’ll see we’re pretty much live with it. As it airs is as we’re opening. Hit the flip to find out what Ryan had to say about the status of his relationship with Rachel and whether he’s open to reconciling with any of his former team.

Bye Beyoncé Biter! Tiffany Haddish Says Sanaa Lathan’s Family Accused Her Of ‘Trying To Ruin Her Career’

For your viewing pleasure… Tiffany Haddish Covers The Hollywood Reporter, Speaks On Sanaa Lathan & Tracy Morgan Tiffany Haddish is currently covering The Hollywood Reporter where she’s dubbed “Comedy’s New Queen” and speaking on her rise from South Central L.A. to Hollywood stardom. The comedienne, 38, sat down with THR and spoke candidly on a number of topics including Tracy Morgan who shaded her in that interview and demanded to stop being asked about her. “He’s probably just tired of hearing my name. It’s exhausting. I’m tired of hearing my name. I could see how that could be irritating, like, ‘Hello, I died, people. I’m back from the dead. Tiffany’s cool, but it’s me sitting here now.’ So, I get it, I’m not mad about it, I love me some Tracy. Things got especially interesting however when Tiffany spoke on Sanaa Lathan who was confirmed (not by Tiffany) as the Beyonce biter in that infamous story. According to Tiffany Sanaa’s family was BIG mad at her and she was accused of trying to ruin her career. Not true says Tiffany, who’s adamant that she simply told the story to show that Baddie Bey kept her out of handcuffs that night. “I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad, and they were mad at me,” Haddish told The Hollywood Reporter . “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyoncé kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.” Sorry Sanaa, looks this story isn’t going away ANY time soon… Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images More from Tiffany’s The Hollywood Reporter interview on the flip.
