XactpiX/Splash News/Clasos.com.mx / Splash News Mariah Carey Sold James Packer’s Engagement Ring For Closure File this one under “If you care…” Mariah Carey is said to have sold her engagement ring from James Packer — you know the one that was reported to be worth $10 million, that she got to keep as part of her financial settlement when they spit. According to Page Six’s Richard Johnson: “Mariah has been very vocal recently about her choice to move forward in her life surrounded by positivity,” her publicist told me. “That requires leaving emotional and material baggage behind, including an old engagement ring from an ex-boyfriend.” A source said Carey had one of her business managers quietly sell the ring for $2.1 million to a Los Angeles jeweler. “A confidentiality agreement was signed, but the jeweler is currently selling it, and there’s only one such ring,” my source said. “Mariah Carey’s public relations people are desperately trying to keep the story from the press, and have threatened the jeweler with litigation if he discloses her name.” An insider in Carey’s camp scoffed at the idea that she sold the bauble because she’s short on cash: “She owns multiple homes, her entire catalog of music, and she’s had numerous successful tours and residencies.” The insider also said the ring was worth way less than $10 million. Do y’all think Mariah is cold-blooded for selling the ring for such a “low” price?
After semi-bashing the Soundcloud star on his 1985 track and being dissed in return …J. Cole had a formal sit down with Lil Pump to get his perspective. Needless to say…it was a bit like pulling teeth. Do you feel you got more insight into Pump after this one? YouTube
Morgan Freeman Releases Statement On Sexual Harassment Claims As you probably know by now, Morgan Freeman has been accused of sexual harassment by 16 different women . The actor has been accused of everything from trying to lift a set assistant’s skirt and inquiring about her underwear, to making sexually charged comments about staff members’ breasts and buttocks. Granted, sexual misconduct includes a spectrum of inappropriate and intimidating behavior toward women and can include everything from harassment to outright rape. None of it is justified or okay for any reason. But Freeman wants it to be perfectly clear that while he is a flawed individual who may not always make the best decisions around women…he is definitely nobody’s Cosby or Weinstein with it . In a statement given through his publicist Stan Rosenfield, Morgan let it be known in clear terms that his allegations are NOT inclusive of him physically forcing himself on or sexually coercing any woman in any way: “I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye, by Thursday’s media reports. All victims of assault and harassment deserve to be heard. And we need to listen to them. But it is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor. I admit that I am someone who feels a need to try to make women—and men—feel appreciated and at ease around me. As a part of that, I would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what I thought was a light-hearted and humorous way. Clearly I was not always coming across the way I intended. And that is why I apologized Thursday and will continue to apologize to anyone I might have upset, however unintentionally. But I also want to be clear: I did not create unsafe work environments. I did not assault women. I did not offer employment or advancement in exchange for sex. Any suggestion that I did so is completely false.” Thus far, no accusation of unwanted sexual contact with Freeman has been reported. He’s only been accused of making comments and jokes that made women very uncomfortable. A CNN Entertainment reporter compiled a few examples of Morgan’s “inappropriate” behavior around entertainment reporters, including an instance in which she says that he looked her pregnant body up and down suggestively and said “boy do I wish I was there.” Check out this account of Morgan’s “misconduct” during promotional junkets: Now…is it just us, or was he not referring to her or her body in that second clip whatsoever? Rymir Satterthwaite Accuses “Father” Jay-Z’s Of Abusing Legal System To Avoid DNA Test Rymir Satterthwaite, 24, t ells The Sun that ever since his mom told him Jay-Z was his dad, he’s been trying to reach him for a paternity test. But for eight years, Jay-z has been using his fame and wealth to avoid the courts. Poor Rymir says enough is enough. He’s heading back to court this fall, in a legal battle against his own lawyers – accusing them of colluding with the rapper’s legal team to help him get out of taking the test. “This has become about more than just Jay-Z and the paternity test – it’s about people being fairly treated by the legal system no matter how much money they have.” The most recent lawsuit, filed in Philadelphia and seen by Sun Online, claims that one attorney they hired was actually “best friends and neighbours” with Jay-Z’s lawyer. It claims that Jay-Z’s attorney made Wanda sign legal papers while she was in hospital recovering from a medicated coma which replaced Lillie’s name on the petition – without consent – and for “nefarious reasons”. The name change, done while Wanda was “in distress” and thinking she was doing the right thing for her son, caused the case to be thrown out. Whoa!! And Rymir explained to The Sun that his mama wouldn’t lie about something “like this”. Rymir’s mom, Wanda says she initially hooked up with Jay-Z aka “Rock” at his aunt’s house in Brooklyn after they met in Philadelphia, and aside from a visit from him two weeks after, she never spoke to him again. Cold blooded. Wanda did have her boyfriend’s name at the time on Rymir’s birth certificate in order to collect public aid, but in 2011 courts found out that guy was NOT his biological dad. So that only (allegedly) leaves Jay-z… Yikes! When this story first surfaced, folks thought this kid was being nefarious– but since then, Jigga has admitted to being a dirty dog on 4:44, maybe there’s something there? Hopefully Jay will just sit down and get this taken care of, do you think he should volunteer and get it over with???
Monica Schipper/Getty Images for NYCWFF Ayesha Curry Got Into It With A Rockets Fan After Game 5 Loss It looks like Ayesha Curry got into a kerfuffle with a Rockets fan after the Warriors’ Game 5 loss last night in Houston. According to her series of tweets, Ayesha is saying that a Houston fan bumped her on her 8-month pregnant belly, then proceeded to taunt her with his phone. The video was posted on Twitter, and you can hear the Rockets fan talking ish about both Steph Curry’s wife and father. Rockets fan trash talks Ayesha Curry post game pic.twitter.com/Uo5X17Ccx3 — The Render (@TheRenderNBA) May 25, 2018 According to Ayesha, the situation started after the man came up to her and said “doesn’t losing feel like getting punch in the gut?” And the pregnant mama got even more upset that the video was posted on social media. She wrote, ”The fact you have the audacity to post this after this man bumped me in my 8 month pregnant belly asking and I quote ‘doesn’t losing feel like getting punched in the gut?’ And continued to follow me and taunt me with his camera is beyond me…but ‘This is America’ right.” The fact that you have the audacity to post this after this man bumped me in my 8 month pregnant belly asking and I quote “doesn’t losing feel like getting punched in the gut?” And continued to follow me and taunt me with his camera is beyond me…but “This is America” right. — Ayesha Curry (@ayeshacurry) May 25, 2018 She continued to tweet a few more times replying to fans, but got fed up pretty quickly. Though there was the video snippet posted online, Ayesha says that she wishes the whole interaction was caught so she wouldn’t be so misunderstood. I thought it was an accident at first because it was crowded and then he made that gut comment and continued to follow me. I should’ve got him in the face instead of saving his life by removing the cigarette he was swinging around in my face. Wish there was full footage — Ayesha Curry (@ayeshacurry) May 25, 2018 I don’t have time for this anymore today y’all. It is what it is. I know people see what they see and believe what they choose to believe. I’m done defending myself against weird grown creeps for the day. Praying people like this get help and peace of mind. https://t.co/G581YU3LKW — Ayesha Curry (@ayeshacurry) May 25, 2018 The Houston fan in question then replied to the allegations, also on Twitter. He wrote a lengthy note explaining that first and foremost, he didn’t know Ayesha was pregnant because he doesn’t keep up with The Warriors or Steph Curry. The fan, Jose, says that he apologized to the Warriors fans immediately after realizing it was actually Steph’s family, and insists he never touched Ayesha or her pregnant belly. pic.twitter.com/rvRdjuq2Hc — Jose G Camargo (@OII_Camargo) May 25, 2018 Trash talking is pretty common at NBA games–especially at the finals, but if that fan really did touch Ayesha’s pregnant belly he’s most definitely wrong for that. Do you think the fan was wrong for talking ish against Steph’s family in the first place? And was Ayesha justified in throwing the cigarette back into the Houston fan’s face?
The nerve, the audacity … Drake Disses Kanye West And Pusha T In New Freestyle Looks like it’s going to be an interesting summer between OVO and G.O.O.D. Music. It all got started when P usha released his album DAYTONA on Thursday night/Friday morning, and everyone got an earful of his track ‘Infrared.’ On it, he throws some pretty deliberate shots at both Drake and Baby. He basically attributes Drake’s rise to Trump’s election — both with outside help. Trump from Russians, and Drake from ghostwriter Quentin Miller. The game’s f*cked up N*ggas beats is bangin’, n*gga, ya hooks did it The lyric pennin’ equal the Trumps winnin’ The bigger question is how the Russians did it It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin Now, Pusha T has been casting light shade at Drake for years , but Aubrey had never seemed too interested in responding. But seeing as how he was just in Wyoming helping Kanye with his latest projects just a few short weeks ago…meanwhile, Kanye was putting a spitshine on tracks like this for Pusha…needless to say, Drake was a little offended. NY Jets Chairman Offers To Pay Protest Fines While the NFL is aiming to demand that all players stand for the national anthem with “discipline” for grown-azz men in the form of strict fines…one team boss isn’t standing for it. NY Jets Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson says his team has his support, regardless of if they choose to protest the anthem. According to NYPost , Johnson has said that the team will stand behind players who may choose to kneel , and will not issue any team fines. As he said in a statement: “I plan to sit in the very near term with Coach (Todd) Bowles and our players to discuss today’s decision regarding the National Anthem,” Johnson said in a statement. As I have in the past, I will support our players wherever we land as a team. Our focus is not on imposing any Club rules, fines, or restrictions. Instead we will continue to work closely with our players to constructively advance social justice issues that are important to us. I remain extremely proud of how we demonstrated unity last season as well as our players’ commitment to strengthening our communities.” And as he told Newsday , if the league imposes the fine themselves, the team will eat it. “I do not like imposing any club-specific rules. If somebody (on the Jets) takes a knee, that fine will be borne by the organization, by me, not the players. I never want to put restrictions on the speech of our players. Do I prefer they stand? Of course. But I understand if they feel the need to protest. There are some big, complicated issues that we’re all struggling with, and our players are on the front lines. I don’t want to come down on them like a ton of bricks, and I won’t. There will be no club fines or suspensions or any sort of repercussions. If the team gets fined, that’s just something I’ll have to bear.” Nice. How many teams do you think will follow suit? Getty
