Fortunata/Splash News Jordin Sparks Gives Birth Jordin Sparks is a new mom. The secretly married songstress,28, and her hubby Dana Isaiah,25, recently welcomed a baby boy. PEOPLE reports that Jordin gave birth to a son, Dana Isaiah Jr. a.k.a. May 2 at 9:04 p.m. at the Natural Birth Center & Women’s Wellness, Los Angeles; he weighed 8 lbs. 4.5 oz. and measured in at 21½ inches. “It was miraculously beautiful,” Sparks tells PEOPLE of the birth. “Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona, and when he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy. He was and is everything we imagined.” As previously reported Sparks shocked fans when she announced in November that she was not only married but expecting. Congrats to the happy couple!

Getty Images New NYC Schools Chancellor Calls Out White Parents On Twitter NYC Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza went in on Twitter on Friday, calling out white parents who are opposing efforts to integrate city schools–and he gave his most aggressive statement yet on this subject. 51-year-old Carranza is the child of Mexican immigrants and a veteran educator, and took the city’s top schools job only four weeks ago. He first addressed the subject on Twitter at 1 a.m. Friday, in a now-deleted tweet. The chancellor tweeted a RawStory recap of an Upper West Side school meeting on Tuesday, where numerous white parents spoke out against plans to integrate multiple neighborhood middle schools. “WATCH: Wealthy white Manhattan parents angrily rant against plan to bring more black kids to their schools,” Carranza tweeted, with a link to a video that originally appeared on NY1. The tweet linked to the RawStory write-up that began: “New effort to diversify schools in the Upper West Side of Manhattan – one of the richest neighborhoods in the city – has drawn an angry reaction from many parents…” We continue to see example after example of how so many people who espouse a desire for equity only want it in the abstract. But when equity necessities that these people share the resources they’ve been given with others, they show their true colors. https://t.co/DxcKWr2wN1 — Clint Smith (@ClintSmithIII) April 27, 2018 During an unrelated school tour Friday morning in Harlem, Carranza further explained his tweet and his views on school segregation, which are way more militant than those of his predecessor Carman Fariña. “These important conversations about creating opportunities for all students are necessary,” Carranza stated. “Parents and staff … raise the issue of segregation in schools — and I’m glad we’re talking about it.” When Mayor de Blasio was asked about his new chancellor’s spirited tweet during his weekly appearance on the Brian Lehrer show on Friday morning, he attempted to clarify Carrazna’s statements saying, “I don’t think he at all intends to vilify anyone — he’s not that type of person. This was his own personal voice … I might phrase it differently.”

The Westmoreland News is facing major backlash after they recently ran a recruitment ad for the Ku Klux Klan on its front page. This completely blatant advertisement is complete with disgusting statements like “Wake up White America! Stop allowing these third world savages to walk all over YOUR people!” and the telephone number to a national KKK hotline. Westmoreland News in Virginia ( @TheWN ) featured this #racist ad on their front page today. In 2018. In America. Colonial Beach resident Betty Tate Thompson said about the incident on WTVR , “They posted the whole flyer as if they were giving them free advertising. It even had the number on flyer to contact the head of the KKK. Which I thought was totally ridiculous.” Police Chief Danny Plott, who alerted the paper about the ads, told the station that after speaking to the editor of the paper, Brittlynn Powell, she “explained that she wanted to put it in to show people that those of us in Colonial Beach who may think there’s not racism … I think she didn’t expect for this to blow up the way it did.” Sure, seems legit…. Newsweek has reported that there are multiple calls for boycotts on the paper’s Facebook page , saying that the story was essentially free advertising for the hate group.
Floyd Mayweather To Question Nelly And Ashanti In Lawsuit As you’re likely well aware, Floyd Mayweather has been at odds with Nelly since the rapper began living with his ex Shantel “Miss Jackson” almost immediately after she left him. And now he’s using the legal system to exact revenge on the rapper. If you’ll recall, back in 2014, Shantel Jackson filed her own lawsuit against Floyd, alleging frequent assault and battery in their abusive relationship. She also sued for defamation and invasion of privacy, as he publicly aired out her medical records complete with photos to expose her plastic surgeries and an alleged abortion. Floyd then countersued Shantel late last year , claiming that she had fraudulently used his credit cards for high-priced purchases and straight-up stole money from him — preying on the fact that he only had an 8th grade education and also not enough sense to check his bank statements. Now, according to The Blast , Mayweather is taking things two petty steps forward in his case. As of April 20th, he filed documents intending to depose Nelly…AND his ex-girlfriend Ashanti in the case for proof of Miss Jackson’s supposed scammer antics. It’s not clear what information he would feel Ashanti had for the case, since she’s been done with Nelly since 2010 . But most likely, he wants to open up Nelly and his ex to embarrassing questions whose answers would be public record. The deposition is currently set for January of next year. SMH. Getty
