Source: JazzIRT / Getty Man Punches 4-Month Old Baby To Death After Discovering He Wasn’t The Father According to Fox 13 Memphis , Jose Agurcia-Avila was arrested by Memphis police and charged with first-degree murder after punching a 4-month old baby. Avila reportedly became upset after learning the child, Alexander Lizondro-Chacon, wasn’t his. Cops say Avila punched the child so hard that the baby was left unresponsive when the mother returned home. The child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis but was pronounced dead upon arrival. An autopsy revealed the baby died from blunt force trauma and his death was ruled a homicide. The medical examiner concluded that the boy’s injuries were a fractured skull, fractured rib and a serious case of pneumonia. The boy’s mother told police that Avila confessed. The 33-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse and first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child neglect.

Angelica Nwandu, founder of The Shade Room, recently announced that the digital media company would be producing its own original programs set to debut exclusively on their Instagram page. The four new original unscripted series (which will feature celebrity guests including Ray J , Amber Riley , Tami Roman and more) include “Petty Court,” a court show for guests to air all of their petty grievances; “Struggle Chef,” a cooking competition series and “F-boy Chronicles,” an investigative look into guys known as “F-boys”. Veteran television producer and 3 time Emmy-nominated showrunner Tarvenia “T” Jones and up-and-coming producer Judith Nwandu will produce the new series while Nwandu will serve as Executive Producer. Nwandu said in statement: “We’re thrilled to announce our first slate of original programming as The Shade Room celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. The series reinforce our commitment to providing entertainment that caters to black culture and allows us to collaborate even more closely with our Roommates, who truly make TSR feel like a family.” Will you be watching?

James Madison High School Principal Enforces Parent Dress Code There’s a HUGE debate happening on social media and it involves respectability politics, a Houston high school and a BLACK Principal that’s being labeled “elitist.” James Madison High School Principal Carlotta Outley Brown (above) is catching hell after she sent out a memo to parents banning them from wearing certain items of clothing to pick up their kids. “Parents, we do value you as a partner in your child’s education,” said Principal Brown in a letter to parents dated April 9. “However, please know we have to have standards, most of all we must have high standards. “No one can enter the building or be on the school premises wearing a satin cap or bonnet on their head for any reason,” she added. You also cannot wear a shower cap of any kind in the building.” Other banned items include bonnets, pajamas, hair rollers, leggings and sagging pants. KPRC-TV Houston reports that the dress code was established shortly after a parent attempted to enroll her child while wearing a headscarf and a “T-shirt dress.” You can see her in the below video. Parents (and social media) are crying foul and claiming that Principal Brown is being an elitist and classist. “I’m almost insulted,” Tomiko Miller, the mother of a Madison High School student told The Houston Chronicle. “I really think it was discriminatory, the language that was used. It was demeaning. And I’m African American — and if it’s misty outside and I have a hair bonnet on, I don’t see how that’s anyone’s business.” Zeph Capo, president of the Houston Federation of Teachers, is calling Principal Brown’s policy “classist,” “belittling” and “dismissive.” “I’m sorry — this principal may have plenty of money and time to go to the hairdresser weekly and have her stuff done,” he said. “Who are you to judge others who may not have the same opportunities that you do? The ceremony will be complete with a street festival for the people. Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson announced the news in a tweet on Tuesday: “It’s here! Join us May 4 for the Obama Blvd. naming ceremony and street festival! The event is FREE to the public but tickets are limited, so sign up to reserve your spot today.” Wesson then provided a link to RSVP for the festivities. It’s here! At the time, Garcetti tweeted that he was thrilled “that Angelenos and visitors will forever be reminded of the legacy of President @BarackObama when traveling across L.A.” It’s no surprise Garcetti was rooting for Obama Boulevard either. Garcetti worked as a California co-chairman for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and he was also endorsed by the former president during his reelection campaign in 2017. There’s no word if Obama himself will pop up for the event, but surely he’ll take a stroll down his own road in the near future!

The news comes from TMZ Sports who pubbed a super sweet letter that the HIGHEST PAID NFL ATHLETE sent to his brethren. “Every Sunday we go to battle together,” Wilson wrote. “… You sacrifice your physical and mental well-being to protect me, which in turn allows me to provide and care for my family. … This does not go unnoticed and it is never forgotten.” “When I sat down to think of ways to honor your dedication a dozen different ideas came to mind,” he added “Some were flashy, some were cool, but I wanted to give you something that had a lasting impact.
