Nicolas Winding Refn has said that the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre inspired him to become a filmmaker. So we shouldn’t be surprised that Ryan Gosling appears to be sporting a quasi-Leatherface look in what may be a poster for Only God Forgives. (Check it out after the jump.) Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but the actor’s face does look pretty damn tore up. The Film Stage posted the image , which it indicates it received from a reader. Certainly, it doesn’t seem implausible as a poster. What better way to whip up interest in a film than to go with a poster that messes with Gosling’s pulse-quickening handsomeness . On Gosling and Winding Refn’s follow-up to their most excellent 2011 film Drive , Only God Forgives is set in the Thai boxing underworld. According to the Film Stage, this is the synopsis: Julian (Gosling) lives in exile in Bangkok where he runs a Thai boxing club as a front for the family’s drugs smuggling operation. When Julian’s brother Billy is killed their mother, Jenna (Kristen Scott Thomas), arrives in the city. She wants revenge and forces Julian to find the killer. Julian’s contacts in the criminal underworld lead him directly to The Angel of Vengeance, a retired police officer who knows everything and who is both Judge and Punisher. Jenna demands that Julian kill The Angel of Vengeance, an act that will cost him dearly. The fight scenes in this movie are apparently brutal and intense — as if the poster image doesn’t convey that — and, like Drive , Winding Refn sets many of his scenes to the kind of electronic music that gets under your skin and makes those shots even more emotionally palpable. In this case, he’s working with M83 of “Midnight City” fame. (Try not to get hooked on that song. I dare you.) Follow Frank DiGiacomo on Twitter. Follow Movieline on Twitter.

Elton John recently referred to Madonna as a “f–king fairground stripper,” adding that the Material Girl’s career was as good as over and labeling her a certain C-word. Those comments followed John’s husband, David Furnish, also having some harsh words for the legendary artist. So, how has the notoriously combative Madonna responded? With an attempt at reconciliation. During a concert in France last night, the singer dedicated the song “Masterpiece” to John, saying: “I know he’s a big fan of it. And I know he’s a big fan of mine. And you know? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere.” Watch for yourself now:

Ross has recorded hundreds of songs for God Forgives, I Don’t, producer tells Mixtape Daily. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Ade Mangum Aone Photo: MTV News Behind the Beats: Aone Every rap crew needs a go-to destination for their beats. Rick Ross is aware of this and inked producer Aone, who is building up quite a reputable discography, to his Maybach Music Group. Aone produced “10 Bricks,” featuring YMCMB’s Birdman , which appeared on Rozay’s Ashes to Ashes mixtape. The upstart has also hooked up tracks for MMG members, including Triple C’s and Masspike Miles, as well as the Outlawz, French Montana and others. He is also working on a project with former G-Unit rapper Young Buck called Bond Money and will be handling all of its production. Not bad for a guy from another continent. “I’m actually from Nigeria,” Aone told Mixtape Daily. “I came out here about eight years ago, and I just started working with a couple of people. Mobb Deep — I started getting in the studio with them. I was influenced by Havoc just making beats and [DJ] Toomp and a lot of other producers.” Of his particular sound, Aone said, “I do a lot of sampling: I like to sample, but I twist up my samples. It’s a mix of the South, and it’s a mix of New York. It’s a mix of everything. It’s something different.” The producer is making sure to reserve his best beats for the home team. He revealed that Ross has recorded hundreds of songs for his forthcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t . “Ross is winning right now. I did a couple of joints for the album, but Ross, he’s always working,” Aone explained. “He’s in the studio; he’s recording over 200 tracks, so you never know. We did over six records already featuring different people. But Ross, he likes to take his time like a masterpiece. He got a bunch of work, so when it’s time, we gonna know. But we still working right now. I’m getting back in the studio, and we doing more stuff. God Forgives, I Don’t : It’s coming; get ready.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Artists AOne Rick Ross

From mixtapes to guest appearances to albums, the Miami MC is churning out quality work an incredible pace. The rapper just released his latest mixtape offering, Ashes to Ashes, over the holidays, but not even a week into the new year, he premiered the single from his next official project. (The title is the same as upstart Cory Gunz’s forthcoming EP .) “I just wanted to put some final touches on it,” Ross told show hosts DJ Evny, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God about why “Made Men” wasn’t included on his mixtape. “I’m back in the lab. Meek Mill, Wale, they back in the lab now. I’m working on my project. “It’s looking real good,” the rapper said of potentially signing newcomer Mill and Wale to his own Maybach Music Group. “We gonna be making that announcement soon.” On “Made Men,” Ross and Drake swap boastful rhymes about fast cars and fine women. “Two-door Bugatti coup, I call it Katy Perry,” Ross raps. “Wiz Khalifa papers, my favorite berries/ That ’65, I call it Rihanna/ It got a red top but it’s white like Madonna.” Drake slyly mirrors Ross’ rhymes, but he’s sure to get folks talking with his reference to former fling Rih-Rih. “Spending tomorrow money, I call it ma
